Jean Cramer a candidate for Marysville city council in November, a small community about 55 miles north of Detroit said at a candidates public forum she is against diversity and wants to keep the city as white as possible and doesnt want people foreign born settling in the city.

She also said she does not believe in interracial marriage and thinks people should marry within their own race saying she was not “against blacks” but went on to say: “A husband and wife need to be the same race … That’s how it’s been [since] … God created the heaven and the earth. He created Adam and Eve at the same time.” I love how people to try to defend their racism by saying they arent against someone for their race and then double down on their bigotry

Every other candidate for mayor and city council condemned her comments calling them vile and upsetting.

It is truly shocking how many of these bigoted racist people have come out of the woodwork and are running for elected office. Hopefully she loses, this isnt 1880. Someone's race should make no difference in where they are allowed to reside not to mention it would be against the law to deny someone housing or open a business because of their race. On the topic of interracial marriage its shocking to hear someone say something like that today. Love is love who cares what their race is?

I would say that her religious language actually makes her less electable for what she wants is just segregation, that is, old stuff. Calling for global extermination can actually earn her a lot more support...because most people can't tell the difference between different degrees of breaking the Overton Window but people who are actually outside it are likely to be attracted by people with the most extreme ideas who shout the loudest.
