I don't think that most Republicans are anti-legal immigration. In fact, many deplore the state of immigration in the U. S. and want a system like that which exists in Canada and Australia, where it is easier for people to go to their respective countries based on the extent to which they will contribute to society.

Kinda goes against the mantra of "Give us your poor and starving" now, doesn't it?
