Over the last couple of weeks, large amounts of the world’s forests seem to have caught on fire. We all know how instrumental forests are to-well everything, really, thus I will not elaborate upon their necessity here. However, it would appear that crucial forests, as well as those previously untouched by climate change are now ablaze. These fires are not merely confined to normally dry regions, but also the Amazon, Siberia, Bolivia,Spain, (although this one’s dying down), Alaska and Greenland

Update: The Siberian wildfire isn’t natural.

So, what day you, NSG? Is this cause for alarm? Is the lessening of environmental protections responsible for any of this? And what should be done? (Besides putting out the fires, obviously.)

Well, I'd be more worried about structural/infrastructure damage than the forests. As I understand it, post burn forests are pretty fertile.

It depends per cases, I guess. Generally, we can start by putting countermeasures to avoid another forest fires. If the fires are human-made, we can uphold the existing laws, if there are any.

Also, we have our own cases of forest fires like usual.

Those things will only been increasing with dryness and heat getting up. Which in turn adds more CO2 to the atmossphere which in turn... you get the idea. The thereshold has been passed last year. Point of no return likely too. In the end theres probably only terraforming or geoneingeeing as options remaining.

The Amazon is a rainforest. It's supposed to be too wet to catch fire. Something weird is going on here.

I assume it relates to climate change, but what about the deforestation? Did that cause the fire to be more severe, or less so?
