LENNY ON TOUR

Image
-Digitally rendered accurate imagery of the bus

As the primary of the New York GOP begins to become more competitive Lenny Lotto has decided to take himself and his team on a grand political tour around the state, stopping for around a day in specific locations to meet voters & supporters while accepting small money donations. Each visit is advertised on social media outlets associated with the 'A New York: Lenny Lotto for Senate' campaign, the entire goal of the trip is to let voluntary staff team build while directly interacting with all the voters of New York. Unbeknown to the press & public there is in fact booze located within the bus.

A used painted over school bus was purchased for the tour, plastered with campaign decals as to associate Lenny Lotto with American childhood nostalgia. The current schedule for the tour has been created, only seen by the members of the tour.

2:00 PM

-Plattsburgh- Greet
-Malone- Short Greet & Break
-Massena- Greet & Sleep at a motel

8:00 AM

-Ogdensburg- Answering Questions in a public space
-Water town- Greet

Image

Past the first couple of spots the team can't decide on the right set of locations afterwards, already the tour is currently in Plattsburgh with a small group of supporters taking pictures and having small talk. As the tour moves onward the media will be informed of occurrences.

Rod does the smile and wave. “Hello my friend Richard Cox. I am coming to visit you to remind you that we are best friends and you need to plan my bachelor party.”

Rod continues to wheel himself towards Cox’s home, reaching the front door.

"Uh, I'm doing fine too." Ella responds.

"So James said that you wanted to talk to me about a bill for Appalachia? Did you want to talk to me on the phone or is this to set up meeting in person?" She asks.

“I figured I could send you along the bill and you could decide if you needed an in person follow up. I can give you the elevator pitch now though?”

Home of Camelia Lane Parker, Olathe, Kansas
Diane Lane

This was not an easy decision; far from it, but it had to be done. The elder statesman, Bob Lane, was deteriorating in health and mind. The bustle of Washington, something he very much enjoyed, even as a spectator through his wife, was getting to be too much. And Diane could simply not provide the care necessary anymore, due to her career and her own advanced age. She tried to remedy this with an in home nurse and caretaker; but Bob disklike the arrangement; “I don’t want some stranger in my house no more!” he complained to his wife.

Finally, Bob admitted that if he must be cared for, it must be in Kansas; his true home, and by one of his family. Diane called nieces and nephews, all willing to some degree, but not fully committed; she wasn’t satisfied with their answers. Finally, though with hesitation, Diane contacted the children of her husband from a previous marriage. Her relationship with them wasn’t the best, and filled with suspicion with both sides. They were only lightly informed on their father’s condition and life, especially when the Lanes retired to Whitefish in Wisconsin. Christmas cards and birthday phone calls were what constituted contact. But now to Diane, it felt cruel to keep them uniformed, and perhaps a kindling of mutual amicability could emerge, especially due to Bob’s wishes.

The elder son of Bob recommended a good nursing home in Kansas City; Diane hated this idea, and swore off him as an option. Bob’s daughter Camelia, however, was incredibly receptive and kind, and offered to let her father move in right into her home and live with her, her husband, and their daughter who was living with them for the interim. Over phone and video calls, and even a few letters, Diane developed a trust in her over the Summer Recess. Now with its end approaching, she knew what she had to do.
    ***
Diane worried that a long flight could be harmful to Bob, but ever the trooper, the old man felt fine. No staff travelled with them; this was to be as personal and intimate as possible. Likewise they attempted to travel incognito, hoping not to get recognized. Awaiting them that early morning at Lambert International in St. Louis would be Camelia and her family, who waited idly in the domestic flights section of terminal 4. Disembarking from the plane, Bob was pushed along in a disability wheelchair by a staffmember, and Diane walked along, holding both carryon bags. At the end of the gate, Diane spotted Camelia, and Camelia spotted Diane. Both women weren’t too dissimilar in age, the former only perhaps a decade younger. As both groups approached eachother, the two women smiled at eachother. As the greeted via embrace, Camelia’s eyes, which in her far youth looked at Diane with suspicion and mild contempt, now looked at the older woman with compassion and gratitude.

The staffmember left as Mr. Parker took over guiding and maneuvering Bob’s wheelchair. As the old senator looked at his distant and nearly estranged daughter, he felt overcome with emotion; he had finally come home.
    ***
The properties in Olathe were spacious, and the Parker family owned almost two acres of land, upon which an 4,000 sq foot early 80’s McMansion sold proudly at the front of. Camelia had done everything possible to prepare for her father. Next to the stairs to the front porch, a ramp was placed. A first story room was set aside and completely redecorated for him. She had sold her old car, a nice enough SUV, for a wheelchair- accessible van. And it was in this van that the Parkers and Lane had rode in from St. Louis to Olathe.

Diane felt at ease as they pulled up to driveway of the Parker residence. Everything looked perfect for her husband. The car parked, and Mr. Parker and his daughter were left to deal with the luggage. Diane and Camelia helped Bob off the van and into the home. Camelia led the pair to what would be the room Bob would live in.

“Isn’t this great,” Diane muttered to her husband as they entered the room, who simply nodded his approval. All the furniture was new, and prominently featured on the wall was a framed newspaper clipping, proclaiming the day when Bob Lane won the Republican nomination in 1996.

“Dad why don’t you take a rest for a bit? It must’ve been a long flight,” Camelia said, gesturing to the bed. Bob, mute and lost in thought, nodded. Diane and Camelia helped him to his bed, but he did not lay down. He simply sat quietly and took in his surroundings.

Diane and Camelia made their way to the kitchen, as the other Parkers brought in luggage and placed them on the carpeted living room floor. “Do you want something to drink, Diane? I’m fixing up a coffee for myself.”

Diane didn’t answer the question, but instead replied worriedly, “I hope y’all didn’t spend a fortune on all this; the ramp, the van, and the room. I would hate to hear that, Camelia.”

Parker simply gestured her hand dismissively, “Nonsense, Diane! We’re retired, but you know we live well; we got pensions. And besides, nothing is too much for my father. And if you want, you can even stay here for more than a week with us and not spend a dime.”

The senator smiled. “I would love to, but y’all know I have to go back next week; the senate is in session on Monday, so I’ll have to be gone the seventh. Anyways, I should have some trinkets and items shipped over from Whitefish and Washington that I know Bob’ll need and want, so-“

Camelia interrupted. “Stop worrying yourself! Spend the time you got with us relaxin’, and we plan to do whatever it takes to do so. We’ll take you on a tour of town, out to eat, whatever you need.”

Lane only half listened. She was seated now, and her hands were closed together in the kitchen table, and stared forward, with a worried look. Camelia noticed this, and sat next to her, facing the senator towards her.

“I know how hard this is Diane. But this is the right thing to do. You know that we’ll take good care of him. He’ll never be alone, and will be surrounded by family from all over town and Kansas. Not just us. We got forests and clear fields for miles outside Olathe; clean air and less congestion. I know Dad liked Washington but this is better for him,” Camelia leaned close to Diane, and placed her hand on the Senator’s shoulder. “And for you, too.”

Lane shed a few tears, but nodded to what Camelia said.
    ***
The nonagenarian senator Bob Lane was propped on a chair on the back porch, cane in hand, staring at the sunset. On a small table next to him was a can of ginger ale and a bowl of cherries. His hand guided him to the bowl every now and then, and grabbed one. Feeding them to his mouth, he chewed them up and spat the seeds back into the bowl.

Diane opened the back porch door and walked outside, and looked at Bob grimly. She took a seat next to him. “Don’t be too grim Di; this ain’t forever! When I win in 2020 after a shocking and late announcement, I’ll prop myself just like this on the Truman Balcony, and you can do all the country running stuff-yes sirree, just leave me up there with a bottle of beer and good food!” Bob joked, and then proceeded to laugh. The laugh subsided into coughing, but it soon ended.

    Diane laughed as well.

One of the candidates, Richard Torres, openly flirts with incest. I know Republicans are meant to preserve 'family values' but there is a clear difference between family values and 'keeping it in the family.'

He has even accused the Senate Majority Whip, a member of his own party, to be an ISIS sympathiser

Now meet the other candidate, Lenny Lotto. Where should we begin with this guy?

Image
It is a fact that he has been endorsed by that far-right whack-job called Kramer.

Image
He has also gained an endorsement by Dianna Noble, a far-right domestic terriost, who perpetrated the mass shooting in Dillion, Montana

Image
They should both hang their heads in shame, but New York shouldn't have to share that shame.

If you want New York to work for everyone, if you want New York to be shame-free, if you want to restore faith in our politics, the choice is clear.

She was an exceptional player of the sport, a surprise to all who didn't know her. It was competitive, yet laid back. She honed her skills with years of practice, where this same golf course would serve as her second conference room; all who really knew her played with Mayfield here. If you haven't; then oh well.

Today she waited for congressman Jared O'Leary; she might let him win. After all, she was trying to win his endorsement.
