NS Name:Ithalian
Nation Name: The Republic of Antis
Power Scale: First-Rate
Technology Tier: Tier One
Major Species:
Species Name: Antivarians
Species Appearance: Large humanoids resembling Earth's native aardvarks. Antivarians are covered in a short fur that ranges in color from white to tans to deep blacks based upon their habitat.
Height/Weight: Males average at around 7.5 feet tall and around 400-500 lbs. Females average around 6 feet tall and 300 lbs.
Life span: 80-90 years, females tend to live longer than the males.
Biological Information:
Antivarians are large and physically imposing creatures, pound per pound the average Antivarian male is 10-12 times stronger than the average human male. Antivarians are a mammalian species. Males reach maturity at around 16-18 years of age and females reach maturity at around 15-18 years of age. Antivarian give life birth, Antivarian young are born after a gestation period of around 10 months. These newborns are called pups. Pups are born blind and deaf, after around 2 months there eyes will open and they will be able to hear.

To move their large frames and powerful muscles Antivarians require nearly 15,000 calories a day. There metabolisms also operate at a higher rate than most other races meaning that not only are Antivarians large and strong, but they also have the ability to move rapidly as well.

The Antivarian cardiovascular system is a powerhouse, the heart nearly 4 times the size and power of a humans to pump the large quantities of blood needed to transport nutrients and oxygen to the organs of the Antivarian. Antivarian blood, like the blood of nearly all creatures living on the planet Antivar, have a copper based blood. This gives the Antivarians skin a green tone to it.

Population: 456 Billion
Capital:Antis System
Number of Systems: 420 systems (30 Core Worlds, 150 Second Sphere Worlds, 170 Third Sphere Worlds, 70 frontier worlds)
History and Culture:
Go now and be fruitful upon the world, spread my flame and hold unto my words and teach them unto all living things
-The Tesor Scriptures, Chapter One Verse One

The Antivarians, a slumbering giant in the extreme west of Orion. A warrior race, a people dedicated to the ideals of liberty and freedom. A people bound by honor and tradition. This was not always the case however. Once the Antivarians were a fractured people, divided by many faiths and many ideologies, stuck on the the single continent of there arid home world of Antis. Empires arose and fell in there cycles, and with the coming of each age new technology was developed. By the time Humans had discovered gunpowder Antivarians had split the atom. Soon after the ventured to the stars. Spurned on by resource conflict on Antis and a planet wide cold war between the democratic Alliance of States and the totalitarian Union of Admitar, colonization of Antis' closest moon began.

For a century Antivarians would colonize there home system while the two super powers pointed there nuclear guns at each other. I the late 1700 another break through would occur. Faster than light travel. Immediately a new frontier would emerge, a new place for the conflicts of Antis to play out. Hundreds of exploration ships left the system and after them went the colony ships. New worlds where settled by the pioneers. At first these colonies where reliant upon the shipments of resources from Antis, but soon they would become sufficient. The Great Break Away began in the 1900's as colonies began to declare themselves idependent of there Antis benifactor. Colonies turned states turned on each other and blood flowed across the stars.

On Antis the political situation had grown dire. Without the resources of the colonies civilization on the home world would become impossible. A panic set in and the Alliance and Union went to war. Millions died and fighting happened across the entirety of the system. In the end the Alliance would win. Calling itself the Alliance of Antis the newly untied Antivarian home world set to work rebuilding itself. By 1930 the Antivarians had sufficient strength the begin the reconquest of there lost colonies. The Unification Wars would last from 1930-1959 as each and everyone of the lost Antivarian colonies would be reconquered through war or diplomacy. When all where under the banner of the Alliance a new government would be formed. The Republic was born as the Constitutional Summit was held on the home world in 1960.

It was around this time that Antivarians made contact with there first alien species. The Prodorian Comminality was another power in Orion's west, and immediately hostilities began. The Prodorians viewed the Antivarians as upstarts, threatening the status quo of the region. The Republic-Comminality was viewed by both sides as a war of survival, for one to win the other had to be exterminated. In the end it would the the Antivarians who would conquer and reduce the Prodorians to there home world, now a ball of irradiated ash. The Republic simply colonized the ruins of the Prodorians. From then on the Republic would fight a series of wars against other races and star empire in the galactic west, each would be its one challenge, each would be overcome but never to the degree that the Prodorians would where dealt with. Most would be made vassal states to the Republic, adopting a republican style of government and generally falling under the protection of the Republic.

Than the Tagali arrived. The Antivarians joined in the grand alliance that fought them back, but in the end there contribution was small as the bulk of Antivarian forces where concentrated on protecting the home territory. When the wars ended and the Tagali went off after weaker preys, the rest of Orion seemed to forget the looming threat of a second Tagali incursion. Antis did not. Quickly military planners and poloticians relized that in order to survive a second Tagali invasion the Orion sector had to be united as much as possible. The Alliance that had defeated the Tagali in the first place fell apart as the old blood feuds came back to the surface, the Republic decided that they would be the ones to unite Orion in the face of the Tagali. The year 2100 would mark the beginning of the Great Expansion.

By military might or political intrigue alien states unfortunate enough to be near the Antivarian Republic where annexed or turned to puppets. This did not escape the attention of the other Orion states, inparticualar the Weash Conclave protested to the Antivarian expansion, and in 2130 war broke out between the two powers. The Republic was to busy fighting what it considered more important wars to dedicat a large portion of there military might on the Conclave and the Conclave found itself inadequate to fight the technologically superior Antivarians. This lead to a stalemate that ended in 2137 when the Treaty of Viro was signed. The Great Expansion would continue until the end of the 2100's.

For the last three hundred years the Republic has been intergrating its conquests for the Expansion and over seeing the affairs of those powers under it protection. The Antivarian Republic is now one of the strongest forces in the western reaches of the Orion Sector, its technology is upon the cutting edge, there military is strong and experenced, cutting it teeth in recent conflicts such as the Beshanti Civil War and the Itgrama Insurrection and backed by the power of entire worlds dedicated to manufacture. The Republic stand strong, and awaits the coming storm weather it be from the Tagali or from the powers of Orion itself.

NS Name: Relikai
Nation Name: Jurosis Star Federation | Jurosis Star Fleet
Power Scale: Second Rate
Technology Tier: Tier 2
Major Species:

Zyximar (40% of population)
Bipedal Humanoids with heights ranging from 5ft to 7ft tall, and an average adult body mass of 120 to 300 pounds. They possess eyes with a natural shine, with rough hair divided into Black, Gold or Red, and skin ranging from ebony to alabaster. Their ears are pointed and reach a length of 15cm, with some curved backwards as part of natural growth. They reach maturity at the age of 16, with a lifespan of up to 120 years.

Zyximar species possess a hardened resilience against a number of foreign bacteria and disease, their internal organs producing a natural antivirus in their blood. However that might cause side effects when meeting new species for the first time, which spurred scientists to create vaccinations and introduce foreign bacteria strains to be compatible with Zyximar blood. Biological weapons able to overcome this natural resistance will still affect the Zyximar, often to fatal consequences.

The outstanding thing about the Zyximar is their mental processing power, and ability to project them through specially designed machines. For example, instead of using AI to control space ships, a Zyximar's brain is consciously able to do up to 22 different things with unparalleled focus at the same time. This has allowed them to take management positions with neurohelmets designed to exploit this micromanaging ability. One drawback is that prolonged usage would accumulate stress in the brain, possibly leading to permanent long-term damage, or in the event of a sudden neuro overload, death.

They have no need to sleep, instead falling into a meditative state for four full hours where any forceful interruption before the completion of the ritual would cause them to receive no benefit from the meditation. If mentally exhausted beyond a certain degree, they fall into a coma for eight hours, after which they would require four hours of meditation to return to peak capacity.

Keninox (25% of population)

A bipedal bird-like species with crow heads, five fingers and three-claw feet. They stand at a height of 3-4 feet, and weigh 60-80 pounds. Their bodies are often bereft of features, giving their skin a leathery-appearance with ridges where muscle was built. Their beaks often measure 6 inches in length to 1 feet at extreme circumstances. Their voices are shrill at birth, but their natural mimicry allowed them to pick up an extreme range of vocals and vocabulary. They reach maturity at 10 years and have an average lifespan of 80 years. They are incapable of flight.

Keninox bodies are extremely soft, but their arms and legs are corded with muscle. Their clawed feet are padded with feathers, allowing them almost silent movement. They are also able to absorb impact well, being able to fall hundreds of meters and bounce off their stomachs to cushion their landing. Their fingers are extremely dextrous, allowing a Keninoxian language to be formed via hand signs alone to make up for their lack of a natural vocal form of communication. Keninoxian education involves learning the words of the entire dictionary, local and foreign, via audio, and their natural mimicry allows them to project the words and meanings in a monotonous manner. Often their emotions are projected via hand signals.

Keninox make excellent candidates in the Diplomatic Corp, or in multi-species dealings. Often one would be near as a translator.

Madan (25% of population)

Bull-like humanoids, Madans stand at an average of 8 feet, weighing around 400 pounds. Their upper backs are covered in thick fur protecting the back of their necks, and they possess horns up to 1 foot, which are often given warlike modifications when they reach adulthood. They mature at 17 years, with lifespans of up to 150 years. Their natural warcry is a loud, deep bellow before engaging in melee or ranged combat as the Star Fleet's prime frontline grunts.

Madan brains possess incredible mapping perception, causing them memorize nearly any topography they've been through. A lone Madan could map out an entire moon given enough time to explore the area, and often Madan exploration teams gather around to export their mental maps into a holographic projection for other races to understand. This makes them excellent scouts, explorers, and recon units in the Star Corp, and as foot infantry. Madan horns are naturally made of a material unshapable and unbreakable except by heavy ballistic weapons. This makes them powerful tools for piercing and bludgeoning, and in Madan society symbols of honour. Grown Madan often coat them with permanent strengthening metals to aid them in combat during wartime or mating rituals, enabling them to kill their opponents quicker.

Madans are the foremost soldiers in the Star Federation, each possessing enough physical strength to pilot heavy mechs, fight in customized exo-suits, and combat with all personnel weapons. They also possess strong leadership skills, and are often the commanders with Zyximar taking the top.

Population: 280 billion
Capital: Neu Yenesys, Jurosis System
Number of Systems: 140 Systems (40 Gaia Systems, 85 Dense Systems, 15 Hub Systems) | 10 Life Ships
History and Culture:
The cultures of the Jurosis Star Federation varies from species to species, although the Common Law precedes all cultural and religious practice of each Species, Race and Ethnicity. Before their entry into the Orion Sector, the Star Fleet was the exploration corp of a nearby Empire. However, infighting and corruption over a millennia led to the downfall of the central government, and the fleet commanders of the exploration fleet found themselves cut off from their homeworlds after the destruction of the FTL array, the hyperspace beacons sabotaged in order to deny ships the chance to travel among systems, or for the government to enforce order.

Adrift and in search of a habitable system with twenty Life Ships, each containing billions of inhabitants in stasis and millions of personnel, the Exploration Fleet with what little tech was able to be downloaded plotted a course for the nearest System simply on their fuel drives.

The journey took a decade, during which millions starved, and thousands of ships were marooned due to the lack of spare parts and maintenance. Even the gargantuan Life Ships, each designed to emulate a planet in space as a colony ship, began to fail as power systems gave out. Eventually, only ten managed to stop above the Gaia planet of New Yenesys, with the capital ship JSS Yggdrasil deploying the stasis ships to the surface to begin the populating of a new home.

That was nearly 400 years ago. Now with systems bustling with population, a healthy trade route and industry, the mantle of Jurosis is once again taken up by a new government in the name of the Star Federation. It was not without conflict, as world-ending threats were faced over the centuries. Racial tensions threatened to shatter the harmony of the races, and extra-terrestrial fleets once decimated the Federation in an event known as the Dark Fleet Crisis. Complacency was what led to the near destruction of the Star Federation, and lessons were taken in regards to an enemy exploiting the infighting within the Federation to inflict such massive losses upon the civilian population.

The Zyximar, Keninox and Madans are the three original races from the Star Fleet, and each are able to complement the ambitions of each other by knowing their strengths and limitations to an extent. Each race is dependent on the other, and in some Systems a race takes over as the majority of the population for better productivity. The Jurosis Star Federation maintains a strong policy in trade and military deterrence, with trading ships often traveling in huge convoys with a wide variety of goods. Culture is similarly shared this way, with trained diplomats and translators often traveling with the merchants in order to meet new races and societies possibly interested in trade and friendly relations with the Star Federation.

The Zyximar are benevolent beings, but with the tendency to frown upon the concept of injustice. Being ship captains and commanders, they hold high positions within the Star Fleet, with the best of the best in control of the command center, micromanaging the entire ship's core system in one unified mind. Their best inhabited worlds are lush with grassland and greenery, large oceans and baroque-style architecture.

The Keninox are social beings eager to learn new sounds and languages, their curiosity making them excellent diplomats and espionage agents, utilizing a special code called the Kenka, mixture of over fifty languages native to the Star Federation, and other languages from dead races. Their best inhabited worlds are forested, trees and vines wrapping around gothic-style structures.

The Madans are the introverted, silent, but watchful guardians of Federation's Systems. Their inner aggression is given a chance to be released during quarterly festivals of gladiatorial bouts for honor and mating rights. Commanders and generals of the Federation's marines and System Defence Corp, they are held in respect by those who acknowledge the defenders of their families. Madan Homeworlds are covered by low-level structures with brutalistic expressions, and live in deep mazes underground as a form of defence and natural pathfinder training.

Military Size:
480 million total

Star Fleet - 340 million
System Defence Corp - 140 million

Military Description:

System Defence Corp troopers use a standard array of weapons, with different sizes catered to different races by the system's local industry.

Bullets come in two forms, the standard Ballistic round which follows the concept of fragmentation. As it tumbles upon impact, it loses kinetic and armour piercing potential, but opens large gaping wounds in its targets. The Sonic rounds pack a mini-capsule of stored sonic energy, from which the round would penetrate the initial layer of armour, causing the capsule to propel sound through the hard surface before splitting up into dozens of sonic particles, shearing targets from within.

SWD-03, Standard Kinetic Resonance Sword
JAR-39, Standard Issue Infantry Rifle.
JSAW-04, Standard Squad Automatic Weapon.
JMARK-07, Standard Sniper Rifle.
JMARK-08, Standard Marksmen Rifle.
JAMR-04, Specialised Anti-Vehicle/Anti-Walker Rifle.

Heavy Arms -

JAAW-32, Standard Anti-Spacecraft/Light Vehicle Launcher.
JPMW-02, Standard Infantry Grenade Launcher.
JRW-02, Standard Anti-Armour Launcher.
JXX-01, Specialised Anti-Armour Plasma Repeater.

Sonic Grenades, each affects a radius of fifty meters with high intensity sonic particles able to penetrate up to light armour. If detonated in an enclosed environment, particles either shear through the material, or bounce repeatedly until their energy is spent.

Walkers and Augmented Suits -

Shadow, Mobile Melee Assault Suite
Grunt, Light Augmented Rifleman Suite
Firefly, Light Augmented Rifleman Suite
Wraith, Stealthy Augmented Sniper Suite
Behemoth, Heavy Engineer/Casevac Suite
Ranger, Augmented Anti-Armour Suite

Falcon, Low Altitude Air Support
Riddler, Light Anti-Vehicle Mech
Banshee, Light Artillery Walker
Widow, Anti-Aircraft Walker
Sky-Eye, Battlefield Recon Support Walker

The Madan Marines are a specialized form of close-quarters infantry, using their bulk and natural rage to propel them towards the enemy after landing in close range. Only the top 0.017% of all Madan soldiers managed to find a place in the Marines, and each member is revered as a respected member by all Jurosis. Armed with anti-armour melee weapons and sonic grenades and augmented to take more than a single hit from lasers and ballistics, they often stay away from the fighting until an exploit was discovered, or tasked to create a distraction to create space for a team of Keninox Kommandos to infiltrate the rear.

Keninox Kommandos stay in the shadows, their positions unknown to all except their colleagues in the same platoon. Using assassination and espionage as their primary weapons, Keninox disrupt battlefield communications and lay ambushes in small squads, relying on sensory disruption uniforms to keep them unseen.

Defensive turrets form heavy networks around key locations, and sensor arrays are scattered almost at random to detect intruders engaging planetfall.

The Star Federation stays true to its roots, with ten Star Fleets, each based on a repaired and refurbished Life Ship, deployed around the Star Federation for defence and mobility purposes.

Ships
Fighters: An important part of the Jupiterran Combat Doctrine is the use of fighters as fast and maneuverable weapon platforms to engage larger enemy ships and deliver their missile payload. The Breeze-Class fighters are the mainstay of the Fighter Fleet, heavily armed and shielded and able to perform near-independent missions with their complete utility equipment. Agate-Class Interceptors are the first reactors to any incursions in Jupiterran Space, sacrificing protection for good optical technology, speed and four dual laser cannons. Twister-Class Missile Boats lumber into combat under escort of other fighters before unleashing a barrage of missiles against capital ships or smaller craft.

    • FTL Drive: No
    • Point Defense: No
    • Shields: No

Corvettes: Classified for patrol and anti-piracy craft, the main corvette used by the Space Corp is the Garnet-Class Patrol Corvette, meant to stop and prevent infiltrators or smugglers from entering or leaving the planet. While EMP technology is still in its infancy, the Garnet-Class is cleared to use maximum force with its cannons and missiles should the suspect fail to comply. The Amethyst-Class Combat Corvette is found within the fleets, its impressive array of anti-fighter and anti-missile weapons making it one of the most heavily armed corvettes in the sector, and the beginning of a public emphasis on fleet defense as a Jupiterran focus.

Frigates: The first 'combat independent' warships of the Star Fleet, the Quartz-Class Frigates contain heavy suppression armament, with its payloads of propelled heavy bombs and torpedoes ready to deliver destruction to ships or infrastructure alike. The Quartz is also the first to carry a light complement of fighters to provide escort and fire suppression of its targets while undergoing its bombardment missions. The Sentouki-Class is a more versatile ship, lacking its fighter bays for heavy weaponry including the first use of plasma cannons and a key weapon of the Star Fleet - Ballistic mass drivers.

  • Quartz-Class Heavy Frigate:
    • Length: 350 Meters
    • Width: 80 Meters
    • Height: 70 Meters
    • Primary Weapon: 48x 'Mandible' Energy Bombs.

Destroyers: Independent warships often acting as flagships for local defensive squadrons, the destroyers of the Star Fleet comes in a form dedicated for long-range operations including ground support with fighters. With three classes of Destroyers, the Star Fleet allows each class to be designed for dedicated duty against for an array of missions. The Emerald class supports long range operations with a balanced suite of energy and ballistic weapons, with the battle-oriented Garuda-class support fleet operations against space targets. Cruisers: The mainstay of the Jurosis Star Fleet, cruisers are expected to serve as almost any kind of vessel for the Star Fleet's operations. Diplomatic, Economic and Military missions are carried out with at least a cruiser in tow, and often advertisements for the Star Fleet comes in the form of a cruiser. The cruiser class packs some of the heaviest firepower per tonne in the Star Fleet, as well as exceptional shielding and armour. The Cruiser class represents the transition into the 'Carrier-Starship' concept of the Star Fleet, where heavier classes would possess at least a sizable complement of starfighters to suit the concept of 'all-rounder' ships.

Battlecruisers: Line warships of the Star Fleet, the Battlecruisers are fast warships who rely on independence to use their speed and firepower to great effect against enemy logistics and weak spots. Due to the size of the Life Ships, the scale between the Cruisers and Battleships left a huge gulf, and military planners sought a fast ship class with the firepower of a battleship to engage in offensive operations. Battlecruisers possess a total of three FTL systems, for while the Hyperdrive remains the standard FTL system in the Star Fleet, two Jump Drives are installed for tactical jumping, allowing a Battlecruiser to deal large amounts of damage against an unsuspecting foe, jumping away before enemy reinforcements could arrive.

Battleships: The battleships of the Star Fleet boasts the most impressive firepower in the Jurosis Star Fleet, and serve as tactical flagships in the Star Fleet's fleets. The first class large enough to mount the 'Excalibur' Railguns, and assembled only at the Core Systems, the appearance of a Jurosis battleship means that Jupiterran interests were severely threatened. The largest and final say in Jurosis politics, the cost of breaking one from the Star Fleet would often take days of planning and redesigning the formation before other ships could cover the gulf of protection left behind by a single vessel in the Star Fleet's formation.

    • Top Speed: 0.9 AU/d
    • FTL Drive: Yes (Primary - Hyperdrive, Secondary - 2x Jump Drive)
    • Point Defense: Yes
    • Shields: Yes

Carriers: Spreading the influence of Jupiterran hegemony in the system, the Carriers provide much needed support in fighter craft and close air support for the troops on the ground. Armed with few anti-ship weaponry but bristling with CIWS and point defence weapons, the Carriers serve as homes and farms for a part of the Star Fleet, providing extra supplies of food should any ship encounter a bad harvest. Able to carry up to several destroyers, Carriers serve as refueling points as well as tethers for ships who require refueling, and can also repair ships within its massive hangar bays.

  • Atlas-Class Star Carrier:
    • Length: 24500 Meters
    • Width: 5500 Meters
    • Height: 4900 Meters

Life Ships: The Life of the Star Fleet. Life ships are redesigned from their original purpose of keeping billions of people in stasis into mobile flagships, offering repair services, manufacturing, and even recreation for the members of the Star Fleet assigned to it. They produce enough food in excess of the entire fleet, often keeping surplus for trade and resupply of ships in need. Families of the crew are allowed to stay onboard, with some Jurosians having spent their entire lifetime onboard a Life Ship.

There are only ten left in existence, with the ability to manufacture them lost since the fall of the Star Federation. Each is responsible of commanding a Sector Fleet, with the appearance of one a symbol of Jurosis' spacefaring might.

  • Yggdrasil-Class Life Ship:
    • Length: 45000 Meters
    • Width: 12000 Meters
    • Height: 12500 Meters
    • Primary Weapon: 2056x 'Varnish' 20mm Pulse Laser Cannons
    • Top Speed: 1.5 AU/d
    • FTL Drive: Yes (Primary - 4x Hyperdrive, Secondary - 4x Jump Drive)
    • Point Defense: Yes
    • Shields: Yes

Starbases: Supply points and orbital farms, Jupiterran Starbases are huge defensive platforms which also provide sustenance for the passing Star Fleet and friendly ships which require supply. The only orbiting platforms which actually farm meat, a starbase visit is considered a luxury due to the restocking of dried meat into one's ship, as well as the possibility of eating fresh produce from premium soil farms instead of hydro and aeroponic-grown produce on the Jupiterran ships nurseries.

  • Eden-Class Starbase:
    • Length: 35000 Meters
    • Width: 35000 Meters
    • Height: 10000 Meters

    • Top Speed: 0.005 AU/d
    • FTL Drive: Yes (Primary - 2x Hyperdrive, Secondary - 2x Jump Drive)
    • Point Defense: Yes
    • Shields: Yes

Each ship is equipped with at least two forms of FTL travel. One being a strategic Jump Drive through relays set along the Federation as well as through similar foreign concepts for long-range travel. Short-range Warp Engines are available to quickly reposition a fleet for interception, and retreat, the latter able to be used to create space while the main FTL drive spools up.

Countermeasures involve the usage of heatmakers - Similar to flares or noisemakers in the deep coldness of space. Heatmakers create as much heat as a starship's engine at full capacity. Chaff and radar diffusion particles are used as well to mask a small ship's outline. Point-Defence Systems come in the form of the SUNDANCE Point-Defence Lasers targeting small craft and projectiles,

Main Weaponry comes in four forms - Anti-Shield (AnSHD), Penetrators (PEN), Anti-Armor (AnARM) Anti-Ship (AnSHP), and the ZUROKI Sonic Resonance Missile System.

AnSHD weapons uses heavy kinetic shells to strike at a precise point in a ship's shielding and hull, but is weak against spaced armour defences.
PEN utilizes double/triple penetrating weapons to overcome both Shields and Light Armour, but is only useful against critical components.
AnARM uses Plasma weapons to burn through solid matter, but is weak against energy-based defences.
AnSHP uses missiles and rockets with payloads of varying size. Smaller payloads target incoming projectiles and small craft, larger payloads target capital ships whose outer defences were taken out.

Highly-classified ZUROKI Missiles are fighter/ship-launched weapons requiring the highest authority to use them. The warheads are packed in thin linear casings which are covered in light stealth coats to minimize their heat signature, often launched to a range as close as possible before their engines are commanded to fire. Possessing penetrators intending to defeat armour before unleashing sonic particles within the ship's hull. These particles travel along solid structures, bouncing along open spaces when their energy's expended, shredding tissue or organs of biological creatures, and destroying sensitive circuitry and disrupting energy transistors. A single missile is estimated to be able to take out a small corvette or a ship crewed by 50 beings.

Only used upon the authority of the Council against Marked Enemies of the Star Federation.

How to be legitimately recognised in NS? Be a proper Roleplayer.
In a community where knowledge should be used to uplift the teachable and be used as an interest instead of a necessity, the arrogant abuse of knowledge is interesting to watch.

The current 1st rate powers are:
  • The Tagali Empire
  • The Xarakh Concordance
  • Orion Systems Alliance
  • The Republic of Antis (WIP)
Does the limit of 4 1st Rate Powers include the OP? If not we have one slot remaining that The Armonian Collective wanted to take.
Civilisation:

NS Name: The United Remnants of America
Nation Name: The Vresh Hive
Power Scale: 2.5
Technology Tier: 2.5
Major Species: Outdated, but it retains enough accurate information
Population: 1.2 Trillion, idk
Capital: Sylax
Number of Systems: Nine, with a further 2-3 containing agricultural reserves. Space in and around these systems consist of the Dead Zone, a place devoid of life, except for those brave or desperate enough to hide in plain sight...
History and Culture: Again, it's outdated, but retains enough information to get the point across.
Military Size: 60 Billion?
Military Description: There is no formalized military for the Vresh as a species, however several castes of the hive have been developed and set aside for some for of violent combat. Most of these forms have been specialized to fulfill specific roles, but the ubiquitous "Soldier" subspecies is the standard by which the Vresh operate in a military fashion. The Soldier, being roughly 175 centimeters in height and utilizing the standard bioenergy weapons in addition to their claws and teeth, is the generalist combat form, with their only specialization being whether the Soldier hails from the Frigus or Calidus branch of Vresh evolution. Possessing moderate intelligence, the Soldier is unable to make complex tactical or strategic decisions, and requires a more developed caste in order to direct them. Without such advanced oversight, a group of Soldiers is going to rely on frontal assaults and wave tactics in an attempt to overrun and overwhelm an enemy position.

Op's claim presumably doesn't take a slot, and there were/are prior requests for the final slot prior to WCC making their request for it, up to the OP though.

Good. So, uh, let me ask a question, how advanced is the AI here? As in, i know the first rate ones "approach sentience" but can you explain a little bit more? Because that would heavily impact how i use robot soldiers and droids.

NS Name: The World Capitalist Confederation/The Second British Empire
Nation Name: The Armonian Collective
Power Scale: 2
Technology Tier: 2, bordering 1.
Major Species:
Armonian (Hybridicus Sapiens, following the human system of Latin names) - An anthropomorphic ant, the Armonians are about 10cm long apiece. Their exoskeleton is built from tough, carbon layers so strong that they can shatter an incoming bullet (although this is a mostly useless ability since nations of the galaxy stopped using bullets, using lasers instead, which still find it hard to penetrate but can nonetheless kill), along with large claw teeth so long and deadly that they are able to pierce bone, accompanied with a toxic venom which can knockout opponents within minutes and kill them in less than an hour. Despite this, their greatest weapon is found in their backside: similar to Terran bombardier beetles, they are able to release a powerful, hot spray which can reach over 5m and blind - or even kill - their opponents. If that wasn't enough, Armonians are extremely organised and collective - more so than humans - able to swarm in massive armies which can capture targets with stealth and precision, thanks to their size. They have a similar mental capacity to humans, having strong hunting and military instincts that are used to create some of the most technically efficient units in the galaxy. Thanks to their modification, they can live upwards of 100 years without genetic disorders, as long as they do not fall in battle. The longest lived only last about 132 years, however, so it's not an extremely long lifespan.
Population: 1.6 quintillion (We're ant-sized, so I think it's acceptable. Please note that the current ant population of Earth is around 10-100 quadrillion, so this is only about 16-160 planets, not systems, but planets, worth of ants)
Capital: Varandograd
Number of Systems: 100
History and Culture: There was once a great race upon Sciadus. They were known as the Pratherians, tall and intelligent creatures who prospered during the golden age of Sciadus' climate. However, a large gamma ray burst from a nearby hypernova several hundred years ago had wiped out their tier 4 civilisation. What they lacked in durability, however, they made up for in innovation. They began tests on all sorts of animals, seeing if they could transmute their genes. Fascists of the old world, however, had decided to grab genes of the Armonians in order to form a compliant army of superhumans to conquer the world. This mostly failed, so the fascists decided to go the other direction. What about superarmonians? Yes - a rigid army of servants able to overrun all the other remaining societies of Sciadus. Of course, doing this was also a failure. But another type of failure - the fascists had succeeded, but since they forgot to change the reproductive structure of the Armonians to become more controllable, they bred faster than rabbits. They had formed a supercolony, wiping out the remaining Pratherians along with the non-modified Armonians. But what now? They had sentience and Pratherian-level intelligence, but no direction...

With little direction, the Armonians began studying the blueprints of a new society. Many remained true to their creators (known as the Orthodox) whilst others chose to follow the ideology of the pre-war Sciadian Republic (known as the Iconoclasts), which would be best described in Terran terms as "authoritarian socialism" (of course, Iconoclast ideology isn't a carbon copy of Marxism - the final objective is socialism, not communism, and it even follows the Orthodox in wanting a strong leader to rule the world with an iron fist.), leading to a divided society right from the beginning. Both sides kept their peace at first, mobilising in secret, but as tensions grew, paramilitary groups formed and soon became the size of whole armies as Sciadus got ready to fight amongst itself. And so, the Twenty-Two Year War, one of the deadliest wars for its scope (although this isn't really fair because the population of Sciadus at that time was around 100 trillion, but nonetheless..) began.

The first year of the Twenty Two-Year War was effectively a stalemate, as both sides worked to gather their troops, leading to long sieges on inconsequential locations. The second year, which many observers feared would turn into the Terran World War I, both sides began to use repurposed human technology built from blueprints, as tanks and fighter jets saw the light of day. The stalemate still remained, however, as the war became more brutal. The third year saw the first use of chemical and nuclear weapons (both sides had agreed not to use biological weapons out of self-interest, since any use of biological weapons would most likely backfire in their opinions), with over 12 million casualties in that year alone. Seeing the mass casualties on both sides, they had decided to agree to a 15-year truce. The 15-years mostly saw rebuilding and expansion, as both sides had launched their space programmes on the first year. Both had banked their fortunes on space, with the entire system being colonised by the second year. By the end of the 15 years, both had over 15 systems each to their names. The second half of the Twenty Two-Year War began, lasting for about 4 years. The first year of the second half was another stalemate, resulting in much larger casualties this time. The second year was a good one for the Military Government of Sciadus, as the Battle of Limus, a planet in a strategic position which would've allowed Sciadus to seize control of the nearby systems around Sciadus was won in a sweeping victory. However, in the third year, a young war hero by the name of Hirim Mars was able to lead a secret detachment into Valmore (where the Sciadian Government was located for the time being to avoid the fighting in Sciadus) and not only kill the Sciadian leader and his government, but also seize control of the planet, leading to a massive retreat and the victory of the Armonian Collective in the fourth year, even as he sacrificed his life for it.
The Collective formed a provisional government, ready to repair from the war.

Economist and war strategist Reiss Lydemon was elected and ushered in a new order under Lydemonism, an evolution of Iconoclast ideology, declaring a one party state under the Union of Armonian Workers. This ideology, whilst repressive, worked, bringing in a new age of economic growth and prosperity, along with an increase the military strength of the Collective. In terms of foreign policy, it has pit itself as an alternative to the imperialists (which some consider ironic) and declares itself to stand as the friend of all working peoples 'regardless of species, race, gender or identity', and is currently the strongest socialist state in the galaxy. It is currently ongoing a period of expansion, as it has conquered tens of systems within the span of a decade. Despite its already high growth, it is expected to further increase in growth, with the launch of programmes designed to bring it finally into post-scarcity along with an automated military. It is one of the youngest powers of the galaxy, being only about 50 years old (excluding the 22-Year War, which would make it 72 years), and may soon position itself as a rival to the first-rate powers. However, one must note that Lydemon is slowly getting old, already being about 93 years old. If he dies, the entire system might crumble...

Military Size: 230 million
Military Description: One of the most technically efficient, it mainly uses lots of small vehicles (approximately 5m long), each armed to the teeth with deadly fusion missiles and lasers, along with an autopilot and combat AI which assisted the personnel. It generally uses a doctrine of mass assault, although it does have a few large space vehicles, which are meant for bombardment, using large osmium rods and other projectiles. It prefers speed over strength, as Armonian vehicles are notoriously small but efficient.

According to my sources there are on the lower end of the quadrillion scale for the number of ants on earth, but anyways. You should note that that number involves over 12,000 to 14,000 ants, which would average out to much less for each species. The largest single ant super colony on earth that has been found only ranges in the billions, roughly.

That particular species(Argentine ants) is known to not be hostile to its own kind, in fact they group together and protect each others nests and build more, most other ant species do not from my understanding, even that is typically limited to a point based on unknown factors. Taking into account that most ants are aggressive towards other nests even within their own species, then add on your species/races human traits. I would say that in fighting and such would kind of ensure that their numbers would be much lower than what you have in your app.

I would say the Trillion you had before would perhaps be more acceptable and even realistic than your current number. Up to the OP and any Co-OP's he should appoint though.

I was thinking, I'm gonna retcon the Heptarchy into having been made aware of the greater galaxy earlier in their history - I made them incredibly old, I may as well have them do something in that time span. Anyone willing to let me borrow a race of precursors to use as invaders who tried and failed to conquer the Heptarchy?

Yeah, but Armonians have free reign in this situation. Like humans, when introduced to the wonders of the industrial era and beyond, there will be a population boom. A massive one.

Still dosent negate the fact that you have trillions of little ant sized things with the intelligence of humans. I also doubt any of your weapon systems would be able to scratch the paint of any ships in the wider Galaxy.

And why not? Why wouldn't be able to beat other ships? Ballistic weapons are hard to stop, particularly when boosted to FTL speeds, which we could reasonably do (Assuming we use a physics-friendly FTL drive, such as the alcubierre drive which bends space as opposed to actually going beyond the speed of light) through "inserting" the ballistics into the drive, and then aiming it at the enemy ships. Light-speed lasers would be limited in their options regarding a response to this, and Armonian tactics involve a large, continuous hail of bullets similar to how modern rocket artillery works. You wouldn't be dealing in fleets of 10-20 ships when in war with the Armonians, you'd be dealing with thousands per army.

How would you even go about constructing these ships? Your species doesnt have necessary physicals to Mine goddamn iron. What? They made robots out of leaves? Or can they Mind Control larger Animals into doing what they want?
