NS Name: The World Capitalist Confederation/The Second British Empire
Nation Name: The Armonian Collective
Power Scale: 2
Technology Tier: 2, bordering 1.
Major Species:
Armonian (Hybridicus Sapiens, following the human system of Latin names) - An anthropomorphic ant built from a sample of Nomamyrmex Esenbeckii, the Armonians are about 10cm long apiece, the largest ants ever to exist. Their exoskeleton is built from tough, carbon layers so strong that they can shatter an incoming bullet (although this is a mostly useless ability since nations of the galaxy stopped using bullets, using lasers instead, which still find it hard to penetrate but can nonetheless kill), along with large claw teeth so long and deadly that they are able to pierce bone, accompanied with a toxic venom which can knockout opponents within minutes and kill them in less than an hour. Despite this, their greatest weapon is found in their backside: similar to Terran bombardier beetles, they are able to release a powerful, hot spray which can reach over 5m and blind - or even kill - their opponents. If that wasn't enough, Armonians, like their ant ancestors, are extremely organised and collective - more so than humans - able to swarm in massive armies which can capture targets with stealth and precision, thanks to their size. They have a similar mental capacity to humans, having strong hunting and military instincts that are used to create some of the most technically efficient units in the galaxy.
Population: 1 trillion (We're ant-sized, so I think it's acceptable)
Capital: Varandograd
Number of Systems: 100
History and Culture: After the suppression of a failed human rebellion in Tigali, many humans (along with other eusocial species such as ants and bees, which will become important later) took off in ships as the main planet was under fire. The goal? Build a new civilisation away from Tigali, with genetically modified humans. The ants and bees, meanwhile, were brought along as experiments for an animal military, with plans to make them intelligent in order to create a brutal and numerous military. As the humans landed on their new planet, named Sciadus, they built their own society, slowly building with a starting population of only about 5,000 humans. Genetic modification allowed them to expand their gene pool and diversify, preventing their inevitable extinction. Meanwhile, they began their experiments on animals, testing on ants and bees to make them more anthropomorphic and generally stronger and more militarily-minded (which wasn't hard for ants, but more so for bees), which would soon lead to a robust animal military of Armonians (see above)...that then revolted against them, forming a new society.

With little direction, the Armonians began studying the blueprints of a new society. They had stumbled upon many writings by capitalists and by libertarians, both of which were discarded as the nature of Armonian biology made them impossible. And then they found the writings of Terran independence general Vladimir Illovich, along with the writings of many utopian sci-fi writers. The writings, however, were extremely divisive, as many still found them counter to Armonian biology. Others had chosen to follow the writings of another Terran independence supporter, but of an another creed - fascism - known as Giovan Gentil. His writings and that of Illovich began the Twenty Two-Year War (although only 7 years of the conflict saw actual fighting beyond border skirmishes and paramilitary groups) among both races. Some sided with Illovich, and others with Gentil. On one side, there was the Armonian Collective and on the other the Military Government of Sciadus.

The first year of the Twenty Two-Year War was effectively a stalemate, as both sides worked to gather their troops, leading to long sieges on inconsequential locations. The second year, which many feared would turn into the Terran World War I, both sides began to use repurposed human technology built from blueprints, as tanks and fighter jets saw the light of day. The stalemate still remained, however, as the war became more brutal. The third year saw the first use of chemical and nuclear weapons (both sides had agreed not to use biological weapons out of self-interest, since any use of biological weapons would most likely backfire in their opinions), with over 12 million casualties in that year alone. Seeing the mass casualties on both sides, they had decided to agree to a 15-year truce. The 15-years mostly saw rebuilding and expansion, as both sides had launched their space programmes on the first year. Both had banked their fortunes on space, with the entire system being colonised by the second year. By the end of the 15 years, both had over 15 systems each to their names. The second half of the Twenty Two-Year War began, lasting for about 4 years. The first year of the second half was another stalemate, resulting in much larger casualties this time. The second year was a good one for the Military Government of Sciadus, as the Battle of Limus, a planet in a strategic position which would've allowed Sciadus to seize control of the nearby systems around Sciadus was won in a sweeping victory. However, in the third year, a young war hero by the name of Hirim Mars was able to lead a secret detachment into Valmore (where the Sciadian Government was located for the time being to avoid the fighting in Sciadus) and not only kill the Sciadian leader and his government, but also seize control of the planet, leading to a massive retreat and the victory of the Armonian Collective in the fourth year, even as he sacrificed his life for it.

The Collective formed a provisional government, ready to repair from the war. Economist and war strategist Reiss Lydemon was elected and ushered in a new order under Lydemonism, an evolution of Marxism, which was an authoritarian ideology which declared a one party state under the Union of Armonian Workers. This ideology, whilst repressive, worked, bringing in a new age of economic growth and prosperity, along with an increase the military strength of the Collective. In terms of foreign policy, it has pit itself as an alternative to the imperialists (which some consider ironic) and declares itself to stand as the friend of all working peoples 'regardless of species, race, gender or identity', and is currently the strongest socialist state in the galaxy. It is currently ongoing a period of expansion, as it has conquered tens of systems within the span of a decade. Despite its already high growth, it is expected to further increase in growth, with the launch of programmes designed to bring it finally into post-scarcity along with an automated military. It is one of the youngest powers of the galaxy, being only about 45 years old (including the 22-Year War), and may soon position itself as a rival to the first-rate powers. However, one must note that Lydemon is slowly getting old, already being about 73 human years old. If he dies, the entire system might crumble...

Military Size: 230 million
Military Description: One of the most technically efficient, it mainly uses lots of small vehicles (approximately 5m long), each armed to the teeth with deadly fusion missiles and lasers, along with an autopilot and combat AI which assisted the personnel. It generally uses a doctrine of mass assault, although it does have a few large space vehicles, which are meant for bombardment, using large osmium rods and other projectiles.

I will make this description more detailed as time goes on.

Don't mind the whole human thing: it's just an excuse for me to have an ant civilisation.

Alright. I mean, it is ants, but alright. What do you suggest? I want Earth ants, and I don't know how to do it. Permission to have it as a Tigali breakaway state?

To clarify, we're an ant nation, just one made by humans.

Great Society, they deliberately cast both of our races out of a region they controlled. They need to be taught a lesson.

Well, we alright likely have many raiding ships in their space, harnessing shipping routes and colonies alike. I'll have to ask Hungry if he would allow my radical-terror-cells in his colonies beforehand. Besides that, why not start the first full-scale war of the IC. You down?

Definitely, there's already skirmishing happening so that's how I can send an armada with you to attack the region.

I am interested in a Teir 4 civilization. I think the journey to interstellardom would be awesome, in addition to discovering or being discovered by higher tier civilizations.

Any socialist civilisations Armonius could team up with? Seems like the entire galaxy has embraced fascism.

The OSA isn't exactly socialist, but it's species are largely instinctively communal. Could open with some rather one sided first contact.

The day when Leninists team up with religious socialists is the day socialism is dying.

Fighting a ground war against Armonians would probably be impossible to win tbh. We're so small that just opening fire at us isn't going to work, and blast radius weapons are easy to counter.

100 Armonians vs 1 Human would go something like this:

Human: Oh, this should be easy, these are just ants-

Armonian assemble into a swarm, crawling up the human

Human: This is more annoying than I expected.

Human swats Armonians with little success

Human: GAH! GAH! I'm going to get you- OWWWWWW

Armonians spray their juice on the human, creating large, frightening burns on the human's skin. Human is now on ground in fetal position wishing for death.

Human: Please...have...mercy...

Armonians burrow into the human like rats, eating away at his flesh. They soon consume the man alive, leaving nothing but bones.
