400,000 march against Estmere in Zahedan

Image
400,000 people took Inqelab Square in Zahedan to denounce Estmere's attacks on the Union
Zahedan, Union Capital Territory- Over 400,000 people took to the streets in Zahedan today to condemn the recent aggressive actions by Estmere. The patriotic rally saw numerous ministers and military figures address the crowds, with most joining the marchers in condemning Estmere as a “vagrant nation.”

The impromptu rally was centred around Inqelab Square in central Zahedan, where thousands chanted anti-Estmerish and anti-Marathi slogans, while banging drums and singing revolutionary songs. Among the crowds were clerics, soldiers, women and local businesspeople who responded to the government’s rallying call for unity in face of the Marathi-Estmerish plot.

The rally saw numerous speakers from parliament, the armed forces and the government. All shared in the people’s disgust at the violations of Zorasan committed by Estmere. Some speakers reminded the crowd of the Union’s capability to defend itself, while also warning that should Estmere violate Zorasan’s waters again, the ship will be sunk.

Mondavarid News spoke to some rally-goers, with one saying, “I am a steel worker, but if Estmere comes for Zorasan I will be ready to offer myself as a soldier and if God wills it, a martyr for the Union and revolution.” Another said, “they think we’re backwards still, I want them to learn the hard way, so all the imperialist countries know the truth.”

Another, who gave her name as Fatimeh, told reporters, “Who does Estmere think it is? They make lies up about our country then send warships into our waters, there’s bad people in Estmere who are obviously using lies to justify attacking Zorasan.”

Prominent lawmaker, Faris al-Faidawi addressed the rally, where he said, “the world sees you, it hears you. Estmere knows it is on borrowed time, they know we are ready and willing to defend ourselves. We will resist on behalf of all oppressed and exploited peoples across the world.”

Another lawmaker, Surena Alizadeh, the most prominent principlist woman MP, roused the crowd by saying, “we are not the Shahs of old, we are the sons and daughters of the Arduous Revolution, we are the soldiers of Mahrdad Ali Sattari and the followers of Imam Roshani, we are stronger than them [Estmere] and we are powerful. If Estmere wants to come here and change this, then they will face 173 million children, soldiers and followers ready to do what must be done.”

The crowd was then greeted by Brigadier General Ghassan Rasfanjani, one of the most senior commanders of the Revolutionary Army. He told the masses, “they [Estmere] call us a rogue state, but they invade our waters, they call us a rogue state, yet prop up an Irfanophobic genocidal death state in Mathrabumi, they call us a rogue state, yet its leader wants an empire. They should not dare try us again, on the seas we will destroy them.”

However, the union government was quick to affirm that Zorasan would prefer a peaceful settlement to the crisis.

A foreign ministry spokesman said, “the Union does not seek escalation, nor have we escalated, nor will we. But we are prepared to defend our sovereignty and territorial integrity, there should be no doubt on this. But we prefer and work actively toward a peaceful solution.” He further said that a peaceful solution would be secured through the “withdrawal of these baseless lies on the Erekat case. Estmere can withdraw these accusations and peace will shall return to the Solarian.”

The union government is still planning on taking Estmere to the Community of Nations over the naval incident last week, in which three Estmerish Federal Navy frigates violated Zorasan’s territorial waters.

The rally also demanded capital punishment for the 14 arrested last week for spying on behalf of Estmere. Gen. Rasfanjani told the crowds that they would likely be found guilty by the State Security Court, “have faith in the Union’s jurisprudence, those who work against the country and the revolution are always found out and dealt with. Have faith in our justice and God will deliver.”

MINKAIREN LEAVES PAN-OPPOSITION ALLIANCE TALKS
Hasegawa dubs coalition talks a "dead-end" amidst leadership
disputes between potential members; talks now likely to implode

Image
Democratic and Minkairen leader Akiko Hasegawa walking out of pan-opposition talks earlier today.

October 15, 2018 | by Sunemasa Kusanagi | Pan-opposition talks, ongoing since May 30, seem likely to collapse after Democratic Party leader Akiko Hasegawa said the talks were "a dead-end and a distraction" and abruptly pulled out, reportedly amidst disputes over which parties would take a leading role in a proposed pan-opposition alliance.

The talks were some of the broadest to be held between Senria's fractured opposition parties in years, with both the New Senria Alliance (Sinsendou) and Democratic Reform Alliance (Minkairen) attending, as well as the Koumeitou party. In addition to disputes over policy between the right-leaning Sinsendou and left-leaning Minkairen, there were also reports of increasing acrimony over who would lead the alliance.

"These talks have distracted us from our task of getting the best for the Senrian people and holding the Aikokutou and its corporate allies accountable for their actions," Hasegawa claimed. "Today, we will return to that focus, and focus fully on the liberty, equality, and justice that Senria's citizens deserve."

As the Democrats are the leading party of the Minkairen, the bloc's three other members- the Farmer-Laborer Party, Green Union, and Progressives- also announced they would be pulling out shortly thereafter. Farmer-Laborer leader Hidemi Ryouga told reporters that the outcome was "unfortunate" but that Hasegawa had made the right choice in pulling out, saying that the talks had "plainly and clearly stalled".

Leaders of the Sinsendou's three parties- the Liberals, Senria Renewal Association, and New Conservatives- were quick to criticize Hasegawa and the Minkairen for leaving. "Rather than continue to work productively with us to unite the Senrian opposition against the People's Party, the Democratic Party has opted to pull out of productive and beneficial talks over minor disputes," a statement released by the office of Liberal leader Natuo Watanabe read. "Nonetheless, we will continue to fight for a strong, united opposition that is capable of standing up to the Aikokutou and giving Senrians the fair deal they deserve."

At time of press, the Koumeitou and its leadership could not be reached for comment.

Senria's opposition has long been fractured between rival groupings. Originally united under the Republican Party, which styled itself as a big-tent party, ideological, political, and personal disputes have caused the opposition to fracture into a variety of parties and often-ephemeral coalitions. While several efforts to unite the opposition have been made in recent decades, none have been successful.

With the Minkairen pulling out, it is likely that the talks will collapse as the promise of a pan-opposition coalition fades. "A pan-opposition coalition that doesn't contain nearly half of the coalition is hardly one that will live up to its name," political analyst Yukio Kazegawa told the Kyouwa Sinbun.

While many in the opposition expressed frustration with the apparent stagnation and now collapse of talks, today's news was greeted with joy by leading members of the Aikokutou and the quasi-alliance it operates, the Nationalist Society (Kokuminsa). Masayosi Isiyama, a spokesman for Prime Minister and Aikokutou leader Reika Okura, said that the talks proved "once again that the opposition lacks the ability or leadership to properly run Senria".

It is unclear where the opposition will head now, or what direction further talks at a pan-opposition coalition might take, if they happen at all. Kumiko Ueda, a local politician for the Green Union, told the Kyouwa Sinbun she was optimistic that a coalition could be formed before Senria's next scheduled legislative elections, slated for 2023, but Senria Renewal Association leader Heihatirou Edamura said that it would take "substantial leadership changes and a reframe of mindset" in order for talks to resume or restart.

Etruria declares support for Estmere but urges restraint
Foreign Minister Gianfranco Galizia offers Estmere support and sympathy, while Etrurian Navy set to resume patrols - Minister also criticises Gibish EC aspirations

Foreign Minister Gianfranco Galizia has warned that tensions on the Solarian Sea are “completely unacceptable”, while offering Estmere the “sympathy and support of the Etrurian nation in face of a militaristic dictatorship.” In the same press conference, he warned against Gibany joining the EC saying, “such a move would be detrimental to progress and stability on the peninsula.”
Image
Foreign Minister Galizia claimed Zorasan seeks to undermine Sotirian Euclea.

The past few weeks has seen the Solarian Sea become roiled following a naval standoff between Estmere and the Union of Zorasani Irfanic Republics. The standoff came in the wake of Estmere’s direct accusation that Zorasan murdered one of its former MPs, Assad Erekat in the city of Kennford. Zorasan has denied the accusations, and in turn, denounced Estmere for “gunboat diplomacy” and “seeking to undermine the Union with lies and propaganda.”

The standoff and tensions provoked an Etrurian response today, with Foreign Minister Galizia urging both sides to cool tensions.

Addressing reporters, he said, “Etruria, being entirely reliant upon the Solarian and Mazdan seas for economic viability, is deeply troubled by the maritime tensions. It is vital that shipping go unmolested, it is vital. Therefore, we urge both sides to maintain restraint and avoid unnecessary escalation.”

However, the Foreign Minister did offer Estmere the support and sympathy of the Etrurian nation.

“While we call for restraint so diplomacy may take its course, I will offer Estmere the complete sympathy of the Etrurian people in this trying time. It is a devastating thing to have a crime committed by another government on its soil, as sadly, Etruria suffered last year. We also offer our support to Estmere in the recognition that Zorasan is a threat, a real security threat to Euclea” he said.

“This is a militaristic dictatorship that seeks to undermine freedom and independence in Coius and to threaten the good Sotirian nations of Euclea” he said further, clutching his now iconic rosary.

However, the Foreign Minister echoed similar statements by Defence Minister Corrado Fiorlenza in saying “the Etrurian Navy cannot and will not tolerate actions that jeopardise the economic security of the Etrurian nation. Etruria has a responsibility on the Solarian Sea that is rooted in history and tradition, we will not hide away from it if the time comes.”

Earlier, Defence Minister Fiorlenza had told naval academy students, “we must always be prepared for an eruption of violence on the Solarian and Mazdan Seas. It would be ignorant to claim that Zorasan does not possess the means to cause significant damage and chaos in the Solarian and Mazdan seas, but Etruria possesses the means to ensure that doesn’t happen. We are watching and we are readying for any eventuality.”

The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that it raised the issue of naval tensions with Estmere, urging for restraint, but also offering Etrurian naval escort for Estmerish flagged vessels travelling the Solarian and Mazdan Seas.

The Defence Ministry also announced it would be resuming “Dual-Sea Patrols”, an historic practice of Etrurian vessels patrolling the sea lanes of the Solarian and Mazdan Seas. It was discontinued by the Socialist Party government in 2001 due to its “wastage of money”, however, the government has since sought to re-assert Etrurian naval dominance over the Solarian in face of a resurgent Zorasan.

Foreign Minister Galizia also used his press conference to criticise Gibany’s pursuit of Euclean Community membership.

When asked by a reporter on the matter, he said, “we have some concerns, especially in that it would produce a situation very detrimental to progress and understanding on the peninsula. EC membership would also cause significant issue for the current territorial disputes that still require a mutually beneficial arrangement.”

The Foreign Minister referred to the region of Vrbanja, which is claimed by Etruria through the State of Novalia. The Etrurian government has doubted the validity of the region’s conceding to Gibany following its independence in 1946. Since being appointed Foreign Minister in 2016, Gianfranco Galizia has sought to secure an agreement solving the Vrbanja Issue, though little progress has been made due to silence on the Gibish side.

GOVERNMENT PUBLISHES FINDINGS IN EREKAT MURDER INVESTIGATION, IDENTIFIES ZORASANI SPIES AND CHEMICAL AGENT USED IN THE KILLING

Image
Asadi (left) and Husseini (right) have been identified as Erekat's killers by investigators.
Ashcombe, Estmere - Evidence published by the Estmerish government "unequivocally" proves that Zorasan was behind the death of dissident Assad Erekat, Justice Secretary Êdouard Aveline-Duquesne said.

The government has made a number of its findings in the probe surrounding Erekats death public for the first time. Among the information released, the government has published the identities of two men it accuses of being Zorasani agents responsible for the attack. Fahrid Asadi and Peyman Husseini were responsible for the murder of Erekat, which took place on 6 July at Craweford Circus located in Kennford's centre city. CCTV footage released by the government show the two men arriving in Kennford on 4 July.

"These two men entered our country using authentic passport identification from another country. These passports were for all intents and purposes real, not forged documents" the justice secretary said. He declined to name the country in question, but said the government had been "looking into the matter extensively" and said that any government found having assisting Zorasan in the assassination of Erekat would "face the music".

"After entering our country, Asadi and Husseini traveled to Kennford where they remained for several days. It is from the residence that they were lodged that they coordinated and conducted their attack on Assad Erekat. Kennford Metropolitan Police, in conjunction with federal law enforcement, have conducted a series of interviews related to their stay".

Aveline-Duquesne refused to comment on a raid conducted by Kennford police last week that local media have speculated is related to the Erekat investigation. However, a spokesperson for Kennford police had previously confirmed the raid was carried out alongside federal police. The justice secretary promised that "those responsible the attack, both directly and indirectly, would face justice" for their involvement.

"The Justice Secretariat, federal agencies, and local police are receiving cooperation from our Euclean and international allies. Justice cannot be escaped, not for those who poisoned Mr. Erekat or for those who ordered his murder".

Information about the chemical agent allegedly used by Asadi and Hussein has also been publicized. Investigators found traces of the Osfoor agent on Erekat, his dog, and a coffee cup located in a trash can nearby. The nature of the agent is secretive, but it is believed to have been by Zorasani scientists for use by the country's intelligence services and is claimed to be among the deadliest ever made.

"We know that, for much of recent history, this particular toxin has been mass produced in Zorasan almost exclusively, which only emboldens our findings and further brings us to the conclusion that the Zorasani regime had Mr. Erekat brutally murdered" Aveline-Duquesne said.

The agent has previously been used in the murders of Masood Karimi in say 2006, Kazdeh and Hussein Amini in 2009 (a married couple), and Aslan Cetinkaya in 2011- all of which had ties to the UZIR.

The government reached its determination after three laboratories in Estmere concluded it the chemical traces found were Osfoor. This was verified by two laboratories elsewhere in Euclea, one in Gaullica and one in Werania.

Prime Minister Wilton-Smyth said the government's findings were "impossible" for Zorasan to reject, but expected it would "make a faux attempt to claim it was in fact exonerated" by them.

Until now, the government had been slow to publicize any information related to the Kennford Incident, with a spokesperson saying it did not want the press or public to "influence" the outcome. Parts of the government's findings had previously been shared with the Euclean Community and several of Estmere's international partners, who have supported the authenticity of the findings. However, in the government has publicized its findings in the lead up to a Wednesday vote at the Community of Nations to condemn Zorasan for the Erekat assassination.

International support for Estmere has been growing, with the Gaullican and Weranian governments firmly backing Ashcombe. Etruria, which has long been at odds with the Euclean Community, has also pledged support for Estmere. A number of Estmere's international partners have also backed the government over the incident.

Wilton-Smyth thanked the international community for its support, saying it was was proof that the "free world stands together, united in the face of evil".

The UZIR, backed by its ally Xiaodong, has rejected all claims that it is behind the death of Erekat. It has accused Estmere of fabricating the incident and tensions have increased drastically after three Estmerish frigates violated Zorasani territorial waters.

BREAKING First Minister rejects Estmere's findings and vows to "resist"

Image
First Minister Farzad Akbari addressing the Popular Council
Zahedan, Union Capital Territory- First Minister Farzad Akbari has dismissed the “official” evidence of the Estmerish government over the murder of Assad Erekat, telling the Popular Council, “it is from start to finish, utter nonsense, corroborated by countries intimately close with Estmere. This is a multi-front slanderous attack on the Union.”

The First Minister made his comments in a speech to an emergency session of the Popular Council. The session was called after the Estmerish government released its dubious evidence claiming Zorasan directly instigated the murder of former MP, Assad Erekat.

Estmere’s Justice Secretary, Êdouard Aveline-Duquesne, at a press event said, claimed they had identified Erekat’s two killers and the toxin that was used in his murder. Accordingly, the Estmerish government claimed two Zorasani men, Fahrid Asadi and Peyman Hosseini were identified through CCTV. They also claimed that Erekat was killed by the so-called Osfoor chemical agent, which they further alleged has been exclusively produced by Zorasan.

However, First Minister Akbari dismissed Estmere claims as “utterly devoid of reason, logic and sanity.” He told the emergency session of the Popular Council, “I will not deny we face a significant crisis. Through the cold-hearted and ruthless opportunism of Estmere, we face a fundamental struggle diplomatically. There is a distinct possibility that this will lead to economic difficulty.”

The first minister was unequivocal in his rejection of the claims from Estmere, “though be in doubt my friends, these accusations are lies and fantasies. Zorasan does not murder people, let alone its citizens abroad. We have it on good authority from RESAT, that Assad Erekat was a criminal, engaged in criminality and that is what killed him. But Estmere’s government, ideologically opposed to Zorasan on the basis of fear toward its rise and that of Irfan, opted to use his murder to further its agenda. One that is shared by numerous countries, including those who supposedly backed up its claims.”

“Estmere’s claims of fact through the corroboration of scientists in Gaullica and Werania is not sound, for these are countries linked by the EC and decades of solidarity in imposing their will and agenda upon the rest of the world through their global institutions. Having these countries say Estmere speaks truth is an insult to the intelligence of any and all” he said further.

The Popular Council was vocal in its support for the government, with numerous outbursts of applause from lawmakers.

The First Minister offered a counter claim to the death of Assad Erekat, “to be distributed to each member of the council is the detailed report by RESAT, which in face of the unprovoked salacious claims by Estmere, will offer the world a more ground explanation.” He went on to describe Erekat’s life after he left the Union for Estmere in 2003.

“Assad Erekat after fleeing the Union in wake of his son incarceration for subversive behaviour, established himself publicly in Estmere as another political victim and asylum seeker. Once settled in Kennford, he then furnished his identity as a victim by establishing a network of charities and organisations aimed at aiding other asylum seekers, including victims of Marathi abuses and genocides. Yet behind the scenes, according to RESAT’s sources in the Zorasani émigré population, Erekat became what we would describe as a street lord, a gangster. Using money from his charities he established himself as a drug kingpin, smuggling in narcotics from Asteria to be distributed and sold across Kennford.

“RESAT has it on good countenance that Erekat also used his connections here in the Union to establish the means of smuggling opium from the mountainous south into Estmere. It is believed that in recent months, he had entered into competition with western Euclean groups, ultimately leading to his murder by a rival Minervan group” he said, receiving jeers and boos from lawmakers in response to Erekat’s fall from globetrotting victim.

“Estmere used the murder of a criminal to justify its unprovoked campaign against Zorasan and by extension Xiaodong. This my friends, is the Euclean plot to undermine the progress of the formerly oppressed and subjugated from reclaiming their destinies. If they cannot subjugate us politically and economically, then they will see to do so diplomatically. We are the nation of resistance and we shall resist, we will resist with dignity, pride and strength in unity, we shall overcome the campaign to undermine our rise and that of our fraternal friends in Rongzhuo” he said to a standing ovation.

Following the First Minister’s address, the Popular Council passed a symbolic motion, granting the union government the authority and power to take any diplomatic action without first presenting its decision to the legislature. The motion passed 459-121, with MPs of the independent and centrist blocs opposing the motion on grounds that the government would act with impunity in pursuing a strategy “inherently dangerous.”

The First Minister was also lavish in his praise for Zorasan’s allies, saying, “in Kazraristan we have kin and friends who stand with us, I am sure I speak on behalf of the entire majlis in thanking our kin for their support in this dark time. And to our friends in Rongzhuo, may God the merciful and wise bless our ties, which are imbued with the unbreakable ties of revolution, independence and solidarity.”

The Foreign Ministry confirmed that in-depth talks with Xiaodong and Kazraristan will take place in coming days to discuss the common Euclean threat. The Foreign Ministry also warned that any intervention or escalation by “COMSED will be viewed very negatively, for the provocation that it is.”

Estmere’s plot against the Union is to reach the Community of Nations tomorrow where nations will vote on whether to condemn the Union despite the criminal abuse of truth by the Estmerish government.

More as the story develops.

SURPRISE ETRURIAN ATTENDANCE AT VERLOIS SUMMIT SIGNALS COOPERATION WITH EC OVER ZORASAN CRISIS.
Etruria's surprise attendance at the Verlois' Summit over the Zorasani Actions in the Solarian Sea could signal a turn in the relationship between the EC and Etruria.

Verlois, Gaullica.

An emergency summit in Verlois between Gaullica, Estmere and Werania to better assess a unified plan of action due to the 'Zorasan Crisis' in the Solarian Sea and the presence of Zorasani Agents in mainland Euclea has surprised many by the addition of a fourth nation: Etruria. Attending the summit are Estmerish Prime Minister Reginald Wilton-Smyth, Weranic Chancellor Otto von Hößlin, Etrurian President Francesco Carcaterra, Gaullican Acting-Prime Minister Sylviane Lambert and Euclean Community President Walker.

The emergency summit was called in a joint-statement by Acting-Prime Minister Lambert and EC President Walker, shortly after the Estmerish Government published its findings in the Erekat Murder, which concretely identified Zorasani Spies and specific chemical agent used in the planned assassination of Assad Erekat.

Etrurian attendance comes after words of support and sympathy by Etrurian Foreign Minister Galizia. In addition, Etruria's reliance on the Solarian and Mazdan seas for economic viability through trade, sees it as a vested party in the security and stability of the region, which Lambert affirmed was the 'paramount goal' for the summit. This was agreed with by all attendees, including President Walker, who spoke to Le Monde after the summit. Here she described the summit as "promoting peaceful waterways", but "not diverting attention from Zorasan's actions."

Integral to Etrurian attendance at the summit is the presence of the von Hößlin and Werania, which has usually always enjoyed a more favourable relationship with Etruria than the other Euclean Community members.

President Carcaterra added that "for centuries the world has relied upon Euclea for the stability and security of the seas, today, that remains the case. Through cooperation with our Euclean neighbours, we will strive to maintain stability." The sentiments of stability and cooperation were reiterated by the other attendees, with the acting Prime Minister arguing that "Zorasan's games of diversion in the Solarian Sea cannot be ignored, even if it isn't the real issue at hand."

In addition, the summit aims to foster better cooperative measures between the police forces of the members of the Euclean Community and Etruria, especially after the Zorasani Agents are speculated to have left Estmere for other Euclean states. PM Wilton-Smyth affirmed these goals, adding that "these assassins will be found be it by officers in Estmere or Etruria."

Each of the attendees additionally announced that they found First Minister Farzad Akbari's rejection of Estmerish evidence to be "a grave concern to any attempt at rapprochement." The Weranic Chancellor described the rejection as "nonsensical."

Whilst the more sensitive issues of the summit currently remain unknown to the press and public, given the concerns of national defence that it entailed, Etruria's presence and apparently warm reception by the other attendees might be the beginning of a new page in the complex relationship between it and the Euclean Community.

"SENRIA STANDS BY ESTMERE", OKURA SAYS
Evidence provided "confirms undeniably" UZIR was involved in murder of
exiled dissident Erekat, PM declares; efforts to slander Erekat "pathetic"

Image
Prime Minister Okura made her statements following a prolonged cabinet meeting earlier today.

July 29, 2019 | by Hiromu Kusanagi | Prime Minister Reika Okura has said that evidence provided by Estmere linking the Union of Zorasani Irfanic Republics to the assassination of Zorasani dissident Assad Erekat is "irrefutable and unchallengeable", in some of the Prime Minister's strongest remarks yet about the ongoing crisis between Estmere and the UZIR.

The crisis began with the assassination of Erekat in the Estmerish town of Kennford on July 6. The UZIR was quickly implicated in the attack, but ferociously denied the allegations levied against it, and subsequently issued its own dubious allegations that Estmerish naval vessels violated UZIR waters. The UZIR and its ally Xiaodong subsequently escalated the situation by threatening a ROSPO response to any further supposed violations of territorial waters, and by belligerently accusing COMSED of "provocation" after COMSED declared it would be monitoring the crisis.

While Estmere had previously shared evidence linking the attack to the UZIR with leading members of the EC and COMSED, including Senria, Estmerish Justice Minister Êdouard Aveline-Duquesne has now released evidence publicly, implicating a pair of Zorasani nationals in the attack. The attack, according to the evidence provided by Estmere, was perpetrated using a chemical agent known as "Osfoor", produced exclusively within the UZIR and used in the suspicious murders of several other Zorasani dissidents abroad since 2006.

Speaking to reporters following a three-hour meeting with high-level cabinet officials and Kokuminsa alliance leadership, Prime Minister Reika Okura said that the evidence "confirms undeniably" that the UZIR was behind Erekat's murder. "This is a technique by which the UZIR has silenced dissidents before, using the same tools it has used before, showing the same disregard for human life and for sovereignty which is shown here," Okura declared. "All the evidence- the evidence shared by Estmere with Senria, and the evidence released by Estmere today- unequivocally implicates the UZIR and its leadership in this heinous crime. It is irrefutable and unchallengable, and for the UZIR to continue to claim otherwise is absurd."

Nonetheless, UZIR leadership has continued to claim they were not behind the assassination, with Zorasani First Minister Farzad Akbari declaring it "utter nonsense" and "devoid of reason" in a speech earlier today. Zorasan has instead claimed that Erekat was "engaged in criminality" and murdered as part of a gang dispute, though it has not publicly offered any evidence to back up this claim, nor any evidence refuting Estmere's.

Responding to the UZIR's claims, Prime Minister Okura described its efforts to implicate Erekat as a gangster as "pathetic". "These efforts to posthumously slander Assad Erekat are absurd, bizarre, and, frankly, pathetic," she stated. "Such blatant lies cannot be taken even remotely seriously, and that is all that needs to be said."

Prime Minister Okura also reaffirmed Senria's commitment to diplomacy and its allies in the face of increasing ROSPO hostility. "Our commitment to our allies in Estmere, with whom we have always had a strong and mutually-beneficial relationship, is stronger than ever in the face of provocation and aggression," she declared. "Senria stands, and will continue to stand, by Estmere. We will also continue to stand alongside our other allies in the EC, alongside our honorable allies in COMSED such as Mathrabumi and Phula, and alongside longtime partners such as Valentir."

"Senria has always been a nation that has hoped for peace, and we continue to hope for such now. The EC and COMSED have shown much forbearance in the face of aggression by the UZIR and its allies. But the leaders of the UZIR and its ROSPO allies should know that while we seek peace, should their actions continue to escalate the situation in Coius and Euclea, we will fight for our rights, our sovereignty, and each other."

In addition to Senria's reaffirming ties between itself, COMSED, and the EC in the midst of the crisis, the UZIR's actions also appear to have brought Euclea closer together; Gaullican newspaper Le Monde reported today that, at an emergency summit between leading EC nations, Etrurian leadership made a surprise appearance, signalling an apparent change in the relationship between Etruria and the EC.

ZORASANI DIPLOMATS EXPELELD
In tune with its COMSED allies, the government has taken steps to expel Zorasani diplomats

Grand Princess Avani Adhikari receiving updates during her speech

PUSHKARMA, PHULA - In a show of support for its COMSED allies, the Phuli government has revoked the diplomatic immunity and credentials lent to Zorasani diplomats within the country, and ordered them to leave to Zorasan within 48 hours or else be detained. Grand Princess Avani Adhikari, who claimed that the initial decision and reasoning was counseled with Black Abbot Thenba Kagate, stated that the expulsions were due to "Security concerns" and only intended to be temporary "until a resolution is found" with regards to potential conspiracy by the Zorasani government. She played to the old adage that it is better to be safe than sorry, and where she cannot publicly make a firm decision on Zorasani guilt, the potential that they are is enough cause for concern to proceed with this action.

The elusive Black Abbot informed us that he considers there to be a very clear and imminent security risk posed by Zorasani nationals in the country, who may act as proxies for the Zorasani government. He states that Phula's national security, and the role that SERAS has played in it, are so effective because of such precautions. While some Irfani residents have called his statements prejudicial, nobody can deny that he has a point - it is indeed better to be safe than sorry. But what does this mean for the relevant diplomats?

The Zorasani embassy has come under surveillance, and measures have been taken to prevent unauthorized transit to and from it. They have been offered assistance in packing and preparations for exit, though questions have been raised about whether the documents held in the embassy should be carefully reviewed for hints of implication or highly sensitive information. There has been no formal statement on when or if the contents of the embassy shall undergo a thorough review, but the relevant diplomats have been given two days for exit. This is thought to be more than enough time, especially with packing assistance offered to them. Should they remain anyway, they will be detained and likely subject to interrogation as to why they had not left - as it would imply a mission yet to be fulfilled.

Government officials have stated that they do not desire hostile action from Zorasan as a result of these expulsions, as they are a mere "precautionary measure". However, given the tensions between COMSED and ROSPO historically, and the unique accusations levied against Zorasan, nobody is too hopeful about the international impact of this decision. It is a brave step that the Grand Princess and the Black Abbot have taken, to spare nothing for the sake of the security of Phula. The wisdom of the Adhikari lineage surely shines through her and her advisers, such deep sacrifice was, and always shall be, the definitive proof of the enlightenment that lineage shares. May such enlightenment be known in Zorasan, and to you, reader.

EREKAT'S WIDOW, ESTMERISH GOVERNMENT REJECT 'FICTIONAL' ZORASANI CLAIMS THAT HIS DEATH WAS RELATED TO DRUG-TRAFFICING

Image
Sajida Erekat called on the international community to reject the UZIR's "falsehoods".
Ashcombe, Estmere - The widow of the Zorasani political dissident whose assassination triggered an international crisis has spoken out against claims by the Zorasani government that his death was the result of involvement in drug-trafficking, not an attempt by the UZIR to silence his criticism. Sajida Erekat called the claims "entirely fictional" and said the murder of her husband by the UZIR was "cold, calculated, and absolutely devastating.

"The Zorasani regime has tortured my son, and now they have murdered my husband on the streets of the city that offered us sanctuary from their tyranny. [First Minister Farzad] Akbari has a;ready killed Assad once, I will not let them kill him again with unfounded, fabricated slanderous attacks".

During an address before the Zorasani Popular Council, the first minister accused Erekat of embezzling funds from the charities he led and acting "as a drug kingpin, smuggling in narcotics from Asteria to be distributed and sold across Kennford".

Akbari says his claims are backed by the Zorasani intelligence agency, RESAT. However, neither the first minister or RESAT have provided evidence to support their allegations of Erekat's criminal involvement. The Estmerish government has also accused RESAT of carrying out the assassination of Erekat, having identified two Zorasani nationals, Fahrid Asadi and Peyman Husseini as the RESAT agents behind his murder. The Estmerish government has published CCTV footage showing the two men arriving in Kennford on 4 July, two days before Erekat's killing.

Estmerish investigators have determined that the Osfoor chemical agent was used to kill Erekat. The agent is widely produced in the UZIR and was developed by Zorasani scientists for use by the national intelligence agency. It has been used in several high-profile killings over the past two decades. In all of these cases, the victims were Zorasani citizens living in a self-imposed exile, similar to Erekat. Osfoor is considered a highly deadly chemical agent and exposure to it is almost always fatal.

The Zorasani first minister instead alleged that Erekat was killed by a Minervan drug-smuggling ring as the two developed a rivalry over drug-trafficking in Estmere and northern Euclea.

"These claims are completely and totally unfounded. My husband was no drug-runner, he was an advocate for human rights, he spoke out against the tyranny he saw in his own government, he established charities to help victims of state oppression, when no one else criticized the Zorasani military's role in creating a water crisis that has devastated parts of the country, he did. If you want to know why my husband was murdered, read the piece he wrote for the [Ashcombe] Herald about the ongoing water crisis" his widow said tearfully.

On 30 June, Assad Erekat published an opinion piece in the Herald criticizing the Zorasani military for its role in the water shortages parts of the country currently face. Less than a week later, he was murdered while walking his dog on 6 July in Kennford. The Estmerish government claims that the UZIR moved to silence Erekat after protests against the water crisis continued to grow and he called for political reforms in the Herald.

"To world governments, I beg you not to be tricked by these falsehoods. The regime desperately wants to save face in the wake of tomorrow's vote at the Community of Nations. When the time comes, show them you are not so foolish".

Erekat has received significant support from within Estmere, with many government officials commending her for sharing her story. Foreign Secretary Anne Buckett, who attended the press conference held by Erekat, called her an "incredibly brave women" and denounced what she labeled "unfounded slander" being advanced by the Zorasani government.

"For the leader of a country to go before the legislature and speak to such a false narrative, to advance so many lies, is deeply troubling. It is yet another sign that the Zorasani government cannot be trusted" Buckett said.

Support for Erekat on social media has also been strong, with users praising her resolve and calling her a "hero".

At a surprise conference held in the Gaullican capital, the prime minister also backed Erekat. "She is very, very brave" he told reporters gathered at the summit between officials from Estmere, Gaullica, Werania, Etruria, and EC President Alexis Walker.

"She speaks nothing but the truth in the face of such visceral lies spat at her by a hateful, oppressive government. Sajida is a formidable women and free peoples everyone grieve alongside her".

Touting support from the Euclean Community, Etruria, and a number of other international governments, Wilton-Smyth said that the "gig was up" and warned Zorasan that it would face condemnation by the international community.
Image
The prime minister used
water as a prop as he spoke.

"Tomorrow, you will see what the free world thinks of your failed attempt to silence critics of your tyranny" he said addressing the Zorasani government. "Was it worth it, all over this?" he said has he held of a plastic cup of water and took a sip.

"Is that not most refreshing? It is a shame that your own citizens lack access to one of the world's resources all humans have a right to - water. You are willing to murder your own people, not just with chemical agents, but through terminal dehydration".

His remarks have been criticized as insensitive, with opposition leader Robert Spencers saying they "distracted from the government's argument, damaged Estmere's credibility, and disrespected the widow of a man murdered for his activism over the issue of water access".

"The current crisis, which the prime minister has let escalate out of hand by playing imperialist, is no laughing matter".

Tensions continue to flair between Zorasan and Estmere, as Senria has offered its full support to Estmere. The Phuli government has also opted to expel Zorasani diplomats over the issue, lending further credibility to evidence presented yesterday by Justice Secretary Êdouard Aveline-Duquesne.

Until recently the government had been slow to publicize any information related to the Kennford Incident, with a spokesperson saying it did not want the press or public to "influence" the outcome. Parts of the government's findings had previously been shared with the Euclean Community and several of Estmere's international partners, who have supported the authenticity of the findings. However, in the government has publicized its findings in the lead up to a vote at the Community of Nations to condemn Zorasan for the Erekat assassination. Tomorrow, the International Assembly will vote on a condemnation put forward by the Estmerish delegation that would condemn Zorasan for its involvement in Erekat's murder.

The UZIR, backed by its ally Xiaodong, has rejected all claims that it is behind the death of Erekat. It has accused Estmere of fabricating the incident and tensions have increased drastically after three Estmerish frigates violated Zorasani territorial waters.

MATHRABUMI STANDS WITH ASSAD EREKAT AND HIS FAMILY: 48 HOURS FOR ALL ROSPO MEMBER STATES TO EVACUATE ALL DIPLOMATS

Image

Sirand, Mathrabumi- Peshwa Priya Kamble in a recent press conference has today confirmed Mathrabumi will be taking further action against Zorasan and it's ROSPO allies. She stated that it was "absolutely unacceptable how these nations violate Estmereish sovereignty, and when exposed aren't willing to bear any consequences, instead pretending nothing happened. The facts are clear to anyone willing to look, Zorasan is guilty of a murder with chemical weapons on foreign soil. How is it imperialist to state the obvious?". Furthermore she added "Mathrabumi and our COMSED allies see through the Zorasani lies, and in accordance with our allies Mathrabumi announces the expulsion of all diplomats from ROSPO countries. Also Mathrabumi will not hesitate to defend any state taking measures to bring Zorasan to justice, and we expect our allies to do the same".

With her statement all diplomats from Xiaodong, Zorasan, and Karzistan are required to leave Mathrabumi in 48 hours. Their privileges of diplomatic immunity have been revoked, and the government will not hesitate to use means of detention if they are not out by the 48 hour period. While so far the sanctions bill has lost steam the House of the People, the Peshwa has threatened to fast track it in the event "Zorasan and Xiaodong unfairly hurt Phuli interests". The expulsion shows that Sirand is committed to supporting it's COMSED allies, and working against ROSPO aggression.

Mathrabumi will not keep it's campaign to merely a diplomatic expulsion. Sirand is expected to vastly decrease it's orders of Zorasani natural gas, and buy LNG from Asteria and Valentir instead. Furthermore Mathrabumi will limit university cooperation with Xiaodongese and Zorasani peers, and increase it's naval presence in the Mazdan Sea. The Foreign Ministry is willing to consider harsher measures in the future, however for now Mathrabumi hopes international pressure will make ROSPO , "come to justice". Until then, "Mathrabumi and our COMSED allies must continue this campaign, and finally bring Erekat to justice".

The Marathi people have shown widespread solidarity with Erekat. Many rallies all over the country have attracted tens of thousands of protestors, and across Marathi social media the hashtage #IStandWithAssadErekat has been posted by millions. When the Estmereish ship arrived thousands of citizens rushed to greet it cheerfully, many singing songs and waving Estmereish flags. Clearly the attitude of the Marathi people and our COMSED allies show that Zorasan will not get away with it's murder, and if the pressure is continued it will finally be brought to justice.

In-Depth: The candidates to lead the Citizens' Alliance
We take an in-depth look into the candidates and their policies as voting opens tomorrow

The leadership election for the Citizens’ Alliance is fast approaching it’s conclusion. With just three candidates remaining, we’re taking a look at who they are and what they’re promising.

But first a reminder of how we got here. The four are competing to succeed Vitoria Vetra who led the Citizens from 2016 until mid-July, when she resigned over connections to the so-called Morfasso Four. These were former Federalists who served in Emiliano Reali’s government, they were also directly blamed for the Morfasso rail disaster in May, which killed 112 people. Vetra’s acceptance of their defection despite knowing of corrupt practices saw her party lose confidence in her leadership.

The Candidates

Image
Gianluca Tozza - Representative for Fauglia IX
Gianluca Tozza is the front runner and no stranger to party leadership, he in fact founded the party and led it from 2012 until 2016. Despite seeing the Citizens under his leadership decimate the establishment left and right parties (with help from the Tribunes), to become the party of opposition, he was forced to resign after his wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She died in November 2016, leaving behind her husband and two children.

Despite his tragic loss, Tozza remained in the Chamber of Representatives and become a strong ally of Vitoria Vetra, who he worked with to build the Citizens. However, he was prone to criticising her, especially her gaffes many saw as snobbish or elitist. This plays well with the progressive wing of the party, who balked at Vetra’s perceived “establishment arrogance.” Being a founder, he naturally enjoys support from the more centrist liberal right of the party.

What is he promising? Tozza has defined his campaign as delivering the Citizens a leader who has the charisma, experience and policy-mind to fight the Tribunes. He has described their three years in power as the “most rapid descent into authoritarianism since the National Solarian era.” As such, he’s painting the leadership race as the precursor to a “final battle over Etrurian democracy and liberty.” He’s promised to roll back all Tribune policies, amend the constitution to consolidate rights, freedoms and liberties. He’s also promised to renew the country’s ties to the EC in the ultimate goal of “making Etruria Euclean again.” Though he has flip-flopped on whether he would offer membership aspirations.

He’s also promised to introduce free tuition federally, to modernise LGBT rights, increase funding for education to match the northern economies of Euclea, and to reform the taxation system so it’s fairer toward working class workers. One of his more well-received policies is the suggestion that the Citizens should form an electoral alliance with other like-minded parties to fight the Tribune Movement, the centre-right Democratic Alternative for Etruria has indicated it would be open to negotiations to this end.

Image
Armando D’Rossi – Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, Rep. for Santa Maria Della Monte Aquila
The Shadow Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, D’Rossi is a veteran citizen, who also boasts the founder status shared with Tozza. D’Rossi is from the progressive wing of the party, having originally being a prominent minority rights activist and civil rights lawyer. He is widely seen as Tozza’s main rival for the leadership and has narrowed the gap in recent weeks.

D’Rossi is advocating not only a roll back of all Tribune legislation since 2016, he’s also advocating a special Senatorial Inquiry into their government, to investigate corruption, abuses of power, the use of torture and violence against inmates and violations of the constitution. He has since confirmed that he would give the inquiry the power of prosecution. D’Rossi has also promised outright to restore pro-Eucleanianism in Etruria, with the aim of holding a second referendum by 2025. He’s also promised to pursue a association agreement with the EC and a free trade agreement.

On the economy, D'Rossi has promised a raft reforms, including the privatisation of state-owned enterprises,

He’s also promised to de-Federalise law enforcement, abolish the Civil Security Service, replacing it with a Federal Agency for Investigation, re-abolish the death penalty and increase civilian oversight. D’Rossi has also promised to work toward introducing same-sex marriage, enshrining abortion rights for women in the constitution and introducing a gender quota to state and federal level legislatures.

Image
Federica Ziani – Shadow Minister for Education, Rep. for Albarina II
The third candidate is the current shadow minister for education, Federica Ziani. Firmly rooted in the progressive wing, to some in the Citizens’ Ziani is a radical, though this is something she’s taken on and pledged to offer “radical democratic ideals.”

One of the Citizens’ most capable political operators, she rapidly rose to the Citizens’ frontbench after being elected to the Chamber of Representatives in the 2018 snap election. In the space of eight months she garnered a colossal social media following, media profile and revealed herself to be a strong debater. Despite her credentials, her campaign has been hampered by off-the-cuff remarks about the other candidates, including her smear against D’Rossi, that he was a closeted racist – after he waited two days to denounce Federal Police responses to a series of racist attacks on migrants last month.

Despite the setbacks she has continued to fight tenaciously, with a self-proclaimed “manifesto for the democratic resurgence.” Much of her manifesto focuses on decentralising power from the federal government to the states, while also proposing elevating all autonomous regions to statehood. Much like Tozza, she’s urging for a new and democratically empowered constitution and to rollback all the Tribune reforms. Among the areas to be decentralised is law enforcement, education and justice, areas she claimed the Tribunes have abused due to the federal government’s dominant role in these areas. She’s also proposed the creation of three new distinct bill of rights, one for the press, one for minorities and one for the judiciary, which collectively she refers to as the “three pillars of Etrurian democracy.”

Economically, she’s vowed to see Etruria become a developed advanced economy by 2030, she wants to draw more women into the economy by offering laws that promote female employment, while providing increased federal funding for childcare. She’s proposed a radical new tax plan dedicated to break up private monopolies, tax evasion and introducing millennial focused job programs.

Ziani has also promised tuition free university, the creation of a “Development Fund” to bring Carinthia and parts of southern Novalia up the standard of Vespasia, while also vowing to launch privatisation of state-owned companies.

What are the Tribunes saying?

Usually when the opposition party has a leadership election, the governing party has much to say and criticise. This time round however, the Tribunes has been quiet. When Ivo Borisic dropped out four days ago, the Tribune Movement described the final three as the “three horsemen of the apocalypse”, describing them as “the same old produce of the disgraced and overthrown liberal elite. Expect radical policies aimed at promoting self-hatred, radical minority obsessions and the same old self-serving economic policies that protect the cosmopolitan over everyone else.”

Tribune supporters for their part have been even less accommodating online. Federica Ziani for her part has suffered a sustained campaign of online abuse since she declared her candidacy. Much of the abuse has been described as “misogynistic” with hundreds of posts saying, she’d fail like Vetra and that Etruria would never elect a “lesbian-loving woman.”

With voting set to open tomorrow, polls are indicating that Gianluca Tozza is heading toward victory. The latest Vox poll showed support for Tozza at 55%, D’Rossi at 26% and Ziani at 19%.

All 448,000 Citizens’ members will be eligible to vote by post, with results expected to be announced on 13th August.

Government's Special Commission announces bold new measures to fight water shortages

Image
First Minister Farzad Akbari heading the Special Commission meeting
Zahedan, Union Capital Territory- The Union government’s Special Commission on Water Access has announced its first raft of regulations aimed at assisting the southern union republics as the water shortages continue. Among those listed is the ban on the sale and construction of garden fountains, a hose pipe ban for the entire country north of Lake Kardeh and the approval of projects to divert the Mehran and Zarrineh rivers.

In the first major meeting of the SCWA, first Minister Farzad Akbari signed off on the first plan produced. He described the measures as “bold, expansive and necessary.”

The SCWA, which includes leading hydrologists, geophysicists, engineers and civil servants worker tirelessly to identify areas of immediate action, while it also produced plans for long term responses. The commission was established by the government last month with the onset of protests in the southern regions of the Union.

Among the measures announced was the complete ban on the sale and construction of water features and gardens for housing complexes and homes, while public fountains will see their usage limited to certain hours of the day. Businesses that sell or construct water features may face fines of up to T800,000 regardless of size.

The second measure is the introduction of a hose pipe ban across all properties north of Lake Kardeh, this is would effect over 100 million citizens and will be in force from midnight until 6pm, when an hour of use will be permitted, for the ban to return from 7pm. Violations of the ban will see people fined up to T35,000, while a second violation will see criminal charges and possible imprisonment.

The third measure is the launching of a mass education and awareness campaign in the south by the government, tasked with changing the mindsets of citizens and farmers. It is hoped that the education campaign will see citizens limit water usage. The National Institute for Hydrology reporter to the SWCA, that the most effected regions waste over 1.3 billion gallons of water annually. Much of this wastage is down to cooking, agriculture and hoarding.

The fourth measure is the reform to water pricing. Due to the state owning all water utility companies, the SCWA has ordered the consolidation and merger of all water utility companies into one entity, which will enable standard and appropriate pricing much easier. The NIH also informed the commission that most prices had not changed for over thirty years, meaning they failed to reflect shortages or demand. Prices are expected to be reformed to be applied by usage amount rather than set rates depending on the number of household inhabitants.

The commission also announced the go ahead for a series of projects, including the construction of six solar-powered desalination plants in the UTC and northern Pardaran, while improved sewer works are being announced in ten of Pardaran’s largest cities. The SCWA sees increased capacity for recycling wastewater as key to Zorasan’s future water security.

The most ambitious plans announced was the construction of canals and sub-surface tunnels to re-direct the Kardeh River toward the southern regions. The SCWA also announced plans to construct a series of dams in the Tayebad foothills, where glacial water will be better collected. The SCWA in a related measure announced plans to explore “better exploitation of glacial water trapped in the Tayebad hills and the Shelago Mountains.”

Overall the new measures would cost over $20 billion, though the union government’s initial promise of unlimited funds means that work will begin as soon as possible.

Tomorrow, the First Minister is expected to table legislation placing the new measures into law, including the merger of all water utility companies into one singular corporate entity.

The government’s new measures may come to offer some respite and hope for the millions of citizens suffering from the water shortages in the south, especially at a time of international terror and tension.

Two PLAN ships intercepted and seized the unresponsive Satucine freighter.

Tagerty, Chervolesia — A freighter bearing Satucine markings was seized by the PLAN at 17.49 local time. The freighter entered the Maritime Exclusion Zone established by Security Directive 2019. Two ships of the PLAN that were nearby immediately contacted the freighter, and when no response was given, dispatched a boarding party to seize the vessel. The rogue freighter captain and chief mate are currently in custody, while the remaining crew are being questioned by naval intelligence personnel.

“Several attempts were made by Captain Osip Stetsyuk of SKR-37 to contact the freighter,” a statement from the People’s Commissariat of the Navy read. “When the freighter failed to respond to all three hails, a vote was held between Captain Stetsyuk, Commander Vaniamin Kozak of SKR-19, and Politruks Arseni Polishchyuk and Lavrentiy Ryahkin to determine the next course of action. They unanimously voted to seize the rogue freighter. Their actions have the full support and backing of the Navy Commissariat.”

The incident took place 40 miles east of the Chervo-Duquense border, at the periphery of the southern boundary of the Maritime Exclusion Zone. At 16.39 local time, the freighter was spotted on RADAR entering the exclusion zone. Two vessels of the PLAN were in the area and changed course to intercept the freighter. At 17.21 local time, the two PLAN vessels had made visual contact with the freighter and opened communications with it. At 17.30, the freighter remained unresponsive to hails from SKR-37, the lead ship of the patrol, and Captain Stetsyuk held a vote to determine the next course of action. The council consisting of Captain Stetsyuk, the commander of SKR-17, and the ships’ two political officers unanimously voted to seize freighter. At 17.37, a squad of naval infantry were dispatched by SKR-37 and boarded the unresponsive freighter. After 11 minutes, the naval infantry had secured the freighter and had the freighter’s captain and chief mate in custody.

The freigher’s captain and chief mate are currently being held in custody and have both been charged with espionage and conspiracy to act against the people and Republic of Chervolesia. No statements have been released in regards to the remainder of the freighter's crew.

This is the second naval incident in the last week, as on 7 Žar, three Estmerish naval vessels illegally entered Zorasani territorial waters. The Main Intelligence Directorate is working closely with the Zorasani intelligence services to determine if the two incidents are at all related.

CTS LEADERSHIP ELECTION - ESCUDERO NOT TO RUN, CANDIDATES REVEALED

Image
The four leadership candidates; Darios Xamena, Melcion Auleda, Fe Motjé and Lluïsa Peralba.
Demora, Florena - At midnight yesterday, the nomination period for the CTS leadership election formally came to an end, and els Temps can now report that it will be a four horse race; four candidates received the necessary 30 nominations from elected higher-office CTS members (Corts members, Senators, Syndicate members and MEPs).

Darios Xamena, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Lluïsa Peralba, Minister of Civic Affairs and Public Safety, are considered the front-runners in the race. Xamena is widely supported among the parties moderate/right wing, while Peralba is respected across the party, belongs to the 'soft left', and is seen as a unifying figure.

The two other candidates, First Speaker Melcion Auleda and Health Minister Fe Motjé, are both seen as belonging to the party's left-wing, and pundits have claimed that the two candidates will be looking for the same voters; and thus split the CTS left-wing vote. Economy Minister Lleó Casadesús, who dropped out prior to the end of nominations, cited this as his reason for not running; instead urging his supporters to back Motjé.

Rosa Escudero, current Premier and outgoing CTS leader, would have been allowed to stand in the election as per the party's rules. Instead, she has decided not to run, and is "pondering a retirement from politics". She has given her full backing to Auleda - her close ally - and has urged her supporters "not to allow their revolution to go unfinished".

Though no opinion poll has been conducted as of yet, Xamena - who can lay claim to an impressive record as foreign minister, particularly in comparison to Escudero - is expected to secure a comfortable lead, especially if he can rally the vote in the same way he did when organising the no-confidence motion.

Ministers have also begun to announce the candidates they are supporting. Xamena can host an impressive list of endorsements; his Euclean counterpart Sònia Colomar, Defence Minister Zoe Irene de Castro, Justice Minister Pascual Burrull and Energy Minister Màrius Manera are among his highest-profile supporters. Peralba has the support of Labour Minister Neus Amores, Housing Minister Marieta Zarzosa and Mental Health Minister Ignasi Vico-Ramelat.

The first leadership debate will take place one week from now.

AL-TUGHLUQ VOWS 'FULL RETALIATION FOR THE INNOCENT' FOLLOWING TERROR ATTACK.

Image
President al-Tughluq promised "fire and fury" following a terror attack
earlier this morning that saw a van filled with explosives ram into
a military checkpoint outside of Qaa.

Qaa, Transtsabaran Federation - Two weeks after an attack on two pipelines originating out of Qaa, suspected to have been orchestrated by 'The Lions of Asafiyah', a second terror attack has taken place in the central Federation city of Qaa.

At roughly 14:21 TST this afternoon a heavy lorry that was scheduled to have been arriving to the city's southwestern oil fields through the Al Jeezah military checkpoint was instead rammed through the roadblocks and detonated by the guardpost, killing seven and injuring dozens. The vehicle was suspected to have been commandeered by radical right-wing Atudite terrorists, who's activity has been on the rise this past month largely in part due to the resistance Tsabara has been showing imperialist nations such as Estmere and Etruria.

The suspected culprits are, of course and as always, El'azar ben-Ya'ir's 'Lions of Asafiyah', but the group has refrained from commentary ever since they were accused of detonating the oil and water pipelines. El'azar tweeted from an unknown location that he 'wished' he had been the individual behind such a 'beautifully orchestrated act of defiance against authoritarianism.'

The lorry, which was supposed to be empty to begin to transport from Qaa's oilfields to a nearby refinery, had had its container replaced with a compartment containing up to "twenty tonnes of improved explosive devices." The lorry's high speed and weight allowed it to barrel through the barriers and fences of the military checkpoint, a military spokesman infored us. He added that "a driver, if any, was incinerated upon impact with the checkpoint's guard tower and nearby barracks."

The President announced "full retaliatory efforts" following the attack, signalling the end to his attempts to broker peace with the disaffected Atudite extremist groups in the nation. Menahem ben-Asher was expelled from the House of Representatives today, following allegations that he is associated with the Lions group. A police report is suspected to be underway.

The Transtsabaran Military has announced "cooperation with the Zorasani" in attempts to "finally rid the nation of its cancerous terrorist elements." The government has already conducted numerous raids across the nation, arresting over 100 suspected terrorists in Adunis and other major cities.

Chervolesia seizes Satucine Freighter; PM Allaire vows "Aggressive negotiations"

Image
Prime Minister Allaire giving his speech
Gatôn, Anniane - For PM Allaire it's one crisis after another. After resolving an issue with the ICD, facing challenges from his own party, and promulgating a new constitution, he declared that he hoped the rest of his term would be "smooth sailing", a statement that now seems almost prophetic.

Yesterday a freighter bearing Satucine markings was seized by Chervolesia at 17.49 local time. The freighter had entered the Maritime Exclusion Zone, which had been created by Chervolesia without consultation with other nearby Asterian states, who questioned its legality and usefulness. The freighter captain and chief mate, both confirmed to be Satucine citizens, are currently in custody, while the remaining crew are being questioned by naval intelligence personnel and their status is currently unknown.

Speaking to the press today, the PM denounced the move as illegal and intentionally antagonistic, saying that Chervolesia was "for propaganda purposes seeking to create enemies to continue its one-party system." He stated that he is open to dialogue, but is "committed to ensuring the release of our citizens from unlawful imprisonment."

When asked what actions the government was prepared to take, the PM stressed that his "negotiations will not fail" but that if a diplomatic solution could not be found he would turn to "aggressive negotiations". He also refused to rule out the possibility of expelling the Chervolesian embassy, of shutting the Arucian straits to Chervolesian vessels and ships heading to Chervolesia, and of turning down a joint naval exercise in the area with Gaullica, if his terms were not met.

Léon Massé, the leader of the opposition, tweeted in support of the PM, saying that "the safety and security of Satucine citizens is a non-political issue. I will be working closely with the PM to give my full support in returning them home!"

A spokesperson for 12 Dumont Rue has said that the Government has been in contact with the families of those incarcerated in Chervolesia, but will not release their identities until they have all been fully identified and their whereabouts confirmed. They also denied any relation to the Zorasani-Estmere incident of similar nature.

Foreign Minister Condemns Freighter Seizure

SHAREImage Image Image Image
Johan Van Den Heever (@JVDHeever)

Image
Minister of Foreign Affairs Maarten Van Doorne speaks to media.

Foreign Minister Maarten Van Doorne has condemned the seizure of a Satucine freighter that had entered what the Chervolesian government refers to as their "maritime exclusion zone". Van Doorne referred to the seizure as a "gross violation of the freedom of navigation on the high seas".
"Reckless actions like these are against the norms of international diplomacy," he said. "These will not be tolerated."

The seizure occurred at 17:49 local time on the periphery of the exclusion zone. Chervolesian authorities stated that the vessel had been spotted on radar and attempts to communicate with it had failed. Two vessels from the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) were diverted to intercept the freighter and made additional attempts to communicate with the vessel. When these attempts also failed, personnel from these vessels boarded the freighter.

According to Chervolesian authorities, the freighter's captain and first mate are currently in custody with the remainder of the crew questioned by naval intelligence personnel. Formal charges of espionage have been laid against the captain and first mate. No charges have been laid against the remainder of the crew members.

The freighter is the first foreign vessel seized by Chervolesia in its self proclaimed exclusion zone, which was announced earlier this month.

Officially referred to as "Security Directive 2019", the measures involve both civilian and military ships as well as aircraft. Civilian vessels are required to submit to a naval escort in order to safely transit the exclusion zone.

In response to this, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a warning to all vessels operating from and registered in Nuvania to avoid the area and to take extra care when transiting along the east coast of Asteria Superior. Most Nuvanian trade goes west out of the Arucian Sea, with the majority of its Asteria Superior trade passing through ports on the continents west coast.

Foreign Minister Van Doorne said that the government would be extending its full support to the Satucine authorities.
"I have spoken with the Satucine ambassador and have affimred Nuvania's support for Satucin in this dispute," he said. "This action is a threat to all peaceful nations in the Asterias, and it should be regarded with absolute seriousness." Van Doorne said that the government would be waiting on their Satucine counterparts for a more comprehensive response.

The seizure comes a week after Estmerish naval vessels confronted Zorasani vessels in the Solarian Sea. Van Doorne said that there was some concern that nations were beginning to disregard international norms and the mutual respect for maritime borders.
"We must send a strong signal that behaviours like these are considered to be unacceptable by the international community."

COMMUNITY OF NATIONS VOTES TO CONDEMN ZORASAN OVER EREKAT ASSASSINATION

Image
Dozens of states backed the Esmterish resolution in the International Assembly.
Kesselbourg City, Kesselbourg - The Community of Nations has voted to pass an Estmerish-sponsored resolution condemning the Union of Zorasani Irfanic Republics over its role in the killing of Assad Erekat.

Earlier today, the International Assembly passed Resolution 84.328 despite staunch opposition from Zorasan and its allies. The vote itself is significant, as the International Assembly tends to leave such matters to the Security Committee, only wading in on major issues viewed as threats to international peace and human rights.

The Estmerish resolution saw support from the majority if members of the Euclean Community, with abstentions from Carcosa and Florena. Additional support came from Senria and its COMSED allies, Valentir, and Satucin, among dozens of others.

Prime Minister Reginald Wilton-Smyth hailed the resolutions passing as a "significant step in defense of liberty" and said the international community "has not and will not be tricked by Zorasani propaganda".

"What works with your screaming mobs will fail before the free world" he stated.

He promised that his government would continue working to press the issue, floating the notion of sanctions against members of the Zorasani government. Foreign Secretary Anne Buckett spoke further on the possibility of sanctions, saying that the Estmerish government "had identified those responsible" in the Zorasani state and that "their transgressions must not stand".

A close ally of the prime minister, Euclean Secretary Roseline Perrier, told reporters she felt it was "only just that known murders" were punished.

The Zorasani government has firmly rejected the allegations regarding their involvement in the 6 July murder of Erekat in Kennford. Evidence published by the Justice Secretariat on showed what the government argued confirmed the UZIR's inolvement in the killing. The government identified Fahrid Asadi and Peyman Husseini as the RESAT agents behind his murder. The Estmerish government has published CCTV footage showing the two men arriving in Kennford on 4 July, two days before Erekat's killing.

Investigators also determined that the Osfoor chemical agent was used to kill Erekat.

Instead, the Zorasani government argues that Erekat was killed by a Minervan drug-smuggling ring as the two developed a rivalry over drug-trafficking in Estmere and northern Euclea. Without providing corroborating evidence, First Minister Farzad Akbari claimed that Erekat was involved in the illicit drug trade. These claims were rejected by Erekat's widow on Tuesday, who implored the international community to reject the "falsehoods" the UZIR was promoting about her husband.

Estmerish officials expect Zorasan to lash out in response to the condemnation. Recently, the UZIR announced its navy would conduct operations into the Gulf of Gulf of Assionaire. Wilton-Smyth said he was "not surprised" that the Zorasani government "desperately tries to continue distracting its population and the world from the ongoing humanitarian crisis it has created".

The prime minister said the Euclean Community would "be ready" for any Zorasani attempts to retaliate and added that he had been in touch with the Etrurian government over the issue.

"We can only expect that Zorasani and the anti-democratic powers of the world will continue to violate international norms. As democracies, we must work together to fight this".

He denounced Chervolesia for the seizure of a Satucine freighter and vowed to support Satucin in the face of "naked, unprovoked aggression".

Tensions at sea have been rising in recent weeks. His comments come after the Zorasani government claimed that three Estmerish frigates violated its territorial waters two weeks ago. The allegations were initially rejected by ex-Defense Secretary Henry Edwards, who said the violation "never took place". However, video footage taken on a Zorasani naval ship showed an Estmerish Valor-class frigate closely, seemingly in Zorasani waters. He resigned amid backlash, but opposition leaders have called for a criminal investigation into the issue.

"He not only misled the public, he misled the opposition and the international community. A criminal investigation must be launched" opposition leader Robert Spencers said earlier this week.

The naval incident has dogged the Estmerish government, and the UZIR will take Estmere to the CN over the issue next week hoping to pass its own resolution condemning Estmere over the violation. It has been dismissed as "nothing but a failed distraction" by Wilton-Smyth, who said he was "confident" in support from Estmere's international partners.

PRESIDENT Ó NÉILL DENOUNCES SEIZURE OF SATUCINE FREIGHTER

Image
The President broke government silence on the controversy, denouncing the seizure as "unlawful".
Calderdon, Lorcania - President Ó Néill has officially condemned the "unlawful" seizure of a Satucine merchant freighter by Chervolesian naval forces, further dubbing the new Chervolesian Security Directive as "an utterly uncalled for violation of international norms and law".

The Satucine ship was seized at 17.49 local time, 40 miles east of the Chervo-Duquense border, by the Peoples' Liberation Army Navy. Naval infantry purportedly then seized the ship. The captain and chief mate - both Satucine citizens - having been taken into Chervolesian custody. The remainder of the crew are reportedly being questioned by Chervolesian naval intelligence. The move has been denounced by Satucine PM Martin Allaire as "illegal and intentionally antagonistic"; words echoed by President Ó Néill.

The incident comes following the recent announcement by the one-party state that it would be creating a "Maritime Exclusion Zone" far outside the recognised maritime boundaries of the country. The policy was widely denounced across the Asterias; in particular that there was no consultation with other Asterian states regarding the new policy, which contradicts international norms and some naval treaties.

Officially addressing the issue, President Ó Néill claimed that he would ensure "full cooperation" with Satucin and the AFDC on the issue, pledging "full, unwavering" Lorcanian support against "flagrant Chervolesian antagonism and aggression", further stating his willingness to ensure that "those Satucine citizens see their homes in Satucin again soon".

With Ó Néill nearing the end of his term, the move will be marked as the beleaguered President's first major foray into international affairs. Pundits suggest the President made this move in order to improve on his poor recent approval ratings, as sources from within the Whig establishment increasingly report his intention to run for a second term of office.

Whatever his reasoning, the move will surely be appreciated by the Satucine government as it searches for a resolution to the incident.

FOLLOWING CN VOTE, GOVERNMENT EXPELS DOZENS OF ZORASANI DIPLOMATS

Image
Over 20 Zorasani diplomats must leave the country within 48 hours.
Ashcombe, Estmere - In the wake of yesterday's Community of Nations resolution condemning Zorasan for its role in the killing of Assad Erekat, the Estmerish government has announced that twenty-six Zorasani diplomatic staff must leave the country. The move comes amid a continued rise between Estmere and Zorasan, signalling there is no clear end in sight to the dispute that has embroiled the two nations for weeks. The UZIR's diplomats have forty-eight hours to leave Estmere or face deportation.

Prime Minister Reginald Wilton-Smyth had the twenty-six diplomats expelled over the poisoning of Erekat, a Zorasani political dissident, raising tensions between the two countries to a new level not seen since the general cooling of the Great Game. He further vowed that his government would crack down on Zorasani spies in Estmere and was "working closely with our Euclean partners" to ensure those involved in the killing of Erekat "did not escape our grasp".

His statement to the press came after yesterday's CN vote, which largely pitted Estmere and its allies against the Rongzhuo Strategic Protocol Organisation. The resolution passed by a large margin, with notable abstentions.

“This represents an unlawful use of force by the Zorasani state against Estmere and a fundamental attack on the very values we as a democratic nation hold most dear to us,” the prime minister said in during a press conference held this morning. “It must therefore be met with a full and robust response.”

"The expulsion of these diplomats, many with a troubling history, is a continuation of our response".

In addition to the expulsion of Zorasani diplomats, the government has announced it will be reducing its own diplomatic staff at its embassy in Zahedan accordingly.

Other nations have already moved to expel diplomats from Zorasan, with Phula revoking the credentials of several diplomats on Saturday while Mathrabumi moved to expel diplomats from ROSPO countries - Karzaristan, Xioadong, and Zorasan. Many other nations are expected to follow suit in the coming days.

The two countries have engaged in an intensifying dispute clash in recent weeks, with an alleged Estmerish violation of Zorasani territorial waters Wilton-Smyth's government courting friends and allies to increase pressure on the UZIR, whose government has threatened to retaliate over any punitive actions. In an act of reprisal for the naval incident, the Zorasani government has announced its navy will conduct operations in the Gulf of Assionaire.

Zorasan is also taking the issue to the CN next week, hoping to pass its own resolution that would condemn Estmere for the 17 July incident. Allegations made by Zorasan of an Estmerish violation were rejected by ex-Defense Secretary Henry Edwards, who said the violation "never took place". However, video footage taken on a Zorasani naval ship showed an Estmerish Valor-class frigate closely, seemingly in Zorasani waters. He resigned amid backlash, but opposition leaders have called for a criminal investigation into the issue.

The government has been under increasing pressure domestically and within the Euclean Community to explain itself over the issue. Commentators have speculated that it will prevent the government from implementing tougher measures against Zorasan, such as calling on the international community to implement economic sanctions on Zorasan.

A JOINT EUCLEAN NAVAL EXERCISE IN THE SOLARIAN SEA SEES COOPERATIVE MEASURES BETWEEN THE EC AND ETRURIA.
Following the Emergency Summit of Verlois, Estmerish, Etrurian, Gaullican and Weranian navies are participating in joint naval exercises in the Solarian Sea, done in response to the threats of a Zorasani navy encroaching to the Gulf of Assonaire.

The Solarian Sea

Today members of the Euclean Community alongside Etruria held one of the largest joint naval exercises of the modern era. In what has been regarded as an 'immense show of force and firepower', the Euclean nations are conducting these exercises in the Solarian Sea: a site of increasing tension with the UZIR and, by extension, ROSPO.

The naval exercises are expected to last over the weekend, and perhaps even further, as the nations aim on consolidating their naval coordination efforts in the face of 'aggression' and 'disrespect for international law.' Some of the simulated events of the exercises include piracy, naval incursions and peacekeeping.

The exercises come after a UZIR fleet entered the Gulf of Assonaire, due to the high level of tensions between it and Estmere following the assassination of Assad Ereket.

The Estmerish prime minister, Reginald Wilton-Smyth, told Le Monde: that the threat of a Zorasani incursion into the Gulf "was significant" and said Euclean governments "must be ready to respond to new aggression as rogue states around the world lash out". He is largely in favour of the naval exercises, being seen as a key architect of their existence.

Acting Prime Minister of Gaullica, Sylviane Lambert, said of the exercises that they were an "excellent initiative for cross Euclean cooperation" and a good way to show "unconditional commitment to the agreed upon tenants of international law."

Sources close to EC President Alexis Walker have indicated she had reservations about the exercises, but that she has said that she is "in favor" of cooperation with Etruria and that any attempt by the UZIR to enter the Gulf of Assionaire "must not be ignored".

She added: "We are faced with a growing threat to our collective security. While peace is the ultimate goal of the Euclean Community, we are forced to respond to actions that jeopardize the stability of the region". The President was also adamant that she was pleased there was 'positive dialogue' between Etruria and the EC, which President Carcaterra is believed to have reiterated to the Euclean Heads of State at the Verlois Summit.

A similar prospect of joint naval exercises is expected to be undertaken by Gaullica in the Lumine Ocean.

NAROZALICA CONDEMNS CHERVOLESIAN AGRESSION, CREATE FREE PASSAGE ZONE TO ENSURE FREEDOM OF NAVIGATION WITH CASSIER

Image
Blue is the Proposed Right of Way Passage

Svobinsk City, Svobinsk- One nation a great deal of international observers have been interested in since the Chervolesian seizure of an innocent Satcuin cargo carrier is Narozalica, unaligned with both the EC and AFDC. The proximity of the incident to the island of Svobinsk means with certainty some type of response is warranted by the Narozalic government. In a recent press conference Foreign Minister of Narozalica, Leonid Lapin broke the silence, and finally gave a statement over the matter. "The Narozalic Government as a law abiding nation respecting CoN maritime law; resolutely condemns the unlawful seizure of an innocent merchant ship by the rouge Chervolesian Government. We see this is a reckless violation of international norms and law, and a threat not just for Asterian nations, but freedom of navigation all over the world. Narozalica stands with the other nations of the international community, and will not tolerate reckless actions and in order to ensure freedom of navigation we announce the creation of a new rite of way passage that will be supported by both Cassier and Narozalican naval forces. Either Chervolesia should back down on it's conflicting illegal sea claims and end it's aggressive policies against foreign merchant ships to end this rite of way, or further consequences will ensue."

Many Svobinski have gone out to support the hardline Narozalic stance on the issue, with several small rallies held. At one of these rallies we met a naval commander, and talked with him over his thoughts on the situation. "Clearly the Narozalic Government has shown it's willingness to stand not just with it's own interests, but the interests of the entire international community. As a naval commander I am proud to work in such a professional and competent military force, which unlike some navies does work for peace and protection on the world's oceans. I am excited to begin my mission, and help ensure all sailors can go through these waters safe and sound". For many this also represents Narozalica broadening it's role on the global stage, working with international partners such as Cassier for peace. A member of a prominent geopolitical think tank gave the Svobinsk Times his comments. "In the previous decades the Narozalic Government saw other nation in a black and white lens. However now increasing Chervolesian power and aggression is making us reconsider our partners. I hope this passage can open up new possibilities to contain and combat Chervolesia, and keep it from threatening what the international community keeps so dear".

Naval patrols to defend the rite of passage are expected to begin in the coming days, with ships from the Narozalic Lamine Fleet joining the already existing ships based in Svobinsk. Ships from Cassier will join the effort as a partner in the passage, and the Narozalic MoFR hopes other nations in the international community can join and support the effort. The MoFR also hopes the CoN will soon pass a resolution condemning this threat to freedom of navigation, and send peacekeeping forces to bring peace to the world's oceans once again -Rogozina Snezhana Stepanovna Svobinsk Times

Union government expels diplomats EC and COMSED countries as Navy deploys to the Gulf of Assionaire

Armed Forces chief General Alireza Fadavi confirms alert status has been raised in wake of Euclean naval exercises
Zahedan, Union Capital Territory- The union government has responded to the Community of Nations’ resolution by ordering the expulsion of diplomats from all EC and COMSED member states. The expulsions came as three vessels of the Revolutionary Navy departed At-Turbah for the Gulf of Assionaire, where they will engage in training exercises. The union government has described the expulsions as “utterly regrettable but necessary in face of a multi-national conspiracy.” The Revolutionary Army has raised its alert status of Level 2 in face of the Euclean naval exercises in Solarian Sea.

Tensions between the Union and Estmere’s allies escalated dramatically today with the instigation of massive provocative war exercises in the Solarian Sea, by the navies of Estmere, Gaullica, Werania and Etruria. The Euclean exercise followed the passing of Estmere’s scandalous CN resolution condemning the Union for the murder of Assad Erekat.

In response the CN resolution, the union government has ordered the eviction of the entire Estmerish embassy, while the remaining members of the EC and all members of COMSED will be tasked with withdrawing two to three officials from their embassies.

The Foreign Ministry announced that it would be severing all communication and diplomatic ties with Estmere, with the withdrawal of the entire diplomatic mission. In an online statement, the foreign ministry said, “in face of a coordinated, premeditated attack by Estmere, the Union is formally withdrawing its entire diplomatic mission from Estmere. It is not acceptable to maintain ties with a government that borders on the verge of criminal.”

The same statement confirmed that the Union has requested the withdrawal of officials from all member-states of the Euclean Community and COMSED, “while the Union does not demand the complete removal of diplomatic missions, foreign governments have been given 48 hours to extricate select officials from their missions in the Union.”

It marks the largest expulsion of diplomats in the Union’s history.

The Foreign Ministry stated that it hoped for the diplomatic situation to return to normal, but warned, “the likelihood of good international neighbourliness returning is low, such a positive turn will be nigh impossible as long as this provocative, aggressive and norm-destroying government in Ashcombe exists.”

The latest development in the form of aggressive naval exercises in the Solarian Sea was met with clear disapproval of the union government and Revolutionary Army.

The exercises which included vessels from Estmere, Etruria, Gaullica and Werania has emerged as the largest in the modern era, involving over 30 ships and 100 aircraft. While the exercises were far from Zorasani waters, the navy did record increased activity by its vessels within national waters.

Head of the Revolutionary Army, General Alireza Fadavi told ArteshTV, “these exercises are a disgrace, having seen Estmere’s attempt at aggression and gunboat diplomacy fail, the greatest imperialist nations, the countries who inflicted the greatest colonialist pain on the world decided to come together and do the same.

“We are not frightened by their sabre rattling; we see what they are doing. This is the last hurrah of Euclea” he said.

In response to the exercises, the Revolutionary Army officially reported that it was raising its alert status to Level 2, which involves the deployment of units, increase air and naval patrols and placing reservists on possible mobilisation status.

In the same TV interview, General Fadavi said, “by the aggressive actions of Euclea, we must be prepared for any eventuality. We are readying ourselves to meet any provocation and we are readying the nation for any aggressive act by Euclea and their COMSED puppet regimes.”

Not only did he confirm the deployment of three vessels to Gulf of Assionaire, he also confirmed that the Land Forces and Air Force would conduct exercises in northern Khazestan. He did not elaborate on what will take place, but warned Euclea, “we will be testing our preparedness and capabilities, including those that will bring home to them, the realities of their actions.”

The Revolutionary Navy tweeted that two destroyers and an auxiliary ship had departed At-Turbah this morning and were “en-route to their target destination in the Gulf of Assionaire.”

The union government this afternoon stressed its desire to see a peaceful resolution, but also warned that it would not hesitate to defend the country from repeats of Estmere’s violation of Zorasani territorial waters.

Following the CN vote, the country’s representative to the CN, Abdullah Al-Fulani told Mondvarid News, “while the vote was deeply regrettable, we will not be deterred from reminding the world that Estmere violated one of the most precious norms we share, that of territorial integrity and sovereignty. The world needs to be reminded that Estmere violated our territorial waters and if the world does not stand up for this norm, then it will collapse. Estmere cannot be allowed to make a mockery of international law.”

The CN is expected to hear the vote on Estmere’s maritime incursion against Zorasan next week.

SENRIA EXPELS 40 ROSPO DIPLOMATS AFTER CN VOTE
25 Zorasanis, 15 Xiaodongese, 5 Karzaris expelled from Senria after CN
condemns UZIR for murder of Zorasani dissident in Estmere

August 1, 2019 | by Hiromu Kusanagi | The Senrian Ministry of Rites has announced that it will be expelling a total of forty-five dissidents from ROSPO countries in the wake of a vote by the Community of Nations in which the UZIR, a leading member of ROSPO, was condemned for its role in the murder of Zorasani dissident and exile Assad Erekat.

The current crisis began with the assassination of Erekat in the Estmerish town of Kennford on July 6.

The move comes after Estmere expelled twenty-six Zorasani diplomats for similar reasons. Erekat was killed using a Zorasani chemical agent, Osfoor, in the Estmerish city of Kennford; the UZIR was condemned for the assassination by a substantial margin in the Community of Nations.

Twenty-five of the expelled ROSPO diplomats were from the UZIR; fifteen were from Xiaodong, and five from Kazaristan.

"Recent events have made it apparent the safety of Senrian civilians can not be guaranteed around employees of the Zorasani government," read an official statement from the Ministry of Rites. "As such, Senria cannot allow itself to remain silent in the face of these actions undertaken by the UZIR and those nations who would enable them."

Senria's move comes not only after expulsions by Estmere, but also after expulsions by its COMSED allies Phula and Mathrabumi, which began their expulsions before the Community of Nations vote had finished. The Ministry of Rites stated that it had refused to expel diplomats earlier "out of a respect for the processes of the CN and in the hopes of a more diplomatic resolution", but that it had finally resolved to expel the ROSPO diplomats "amidst continuing belligerence and unrepentance from the UZIR and its allies with regard to this blatant and terroristic violation of Estmerish sovereignty".

The UZIR has not yet retaliated as of press time, but is expected to.

Mambo Kupakwashe Ngonidzashe, 2018

Naishewedu Makwarimba | 2 AUGUST, 2019 19:41 | GUTO raMAMBO, RWIZIKURU

After weeks of negotiations with the Global Institute of Fiscal Affairs, an agreement has been made between the Kingdom of Rwizikuru by allowing a loan of 1,252,156,000,000ſ (€100,000,000) to be given to our country in order to restructure our affairs. This has led Mambo Kupakwashe Ngonidzashe to announce on radio, television, and on news of his plan to step down from the throne.

"The agreement that we have made included a plan to institute a constitution, to establish a representative assembly with its main priority to get our nation's financial affairs in order, and to end the generations of corruption and embezzlement that have infected our nation," Kupakwashe said. "However, it has become clear that as I conclude my fourth decade as Mambo of Rwizikuru, that my style of rule will be incompatible with what the Global Institute of Fiscal Affairs has requested, and that should I continue to rule, I will see increasing conflicts between the monarchy and my subjects."

"Therefore, I announce my intention to abdicate the throne, and pass the torch to Muchinda Munashe," Kupakwashe declared. "Over the next month, we will begin to organize a new constitutional convention, and to this matter, I believe that it would be in the interests of my subjects to allow them to select some of their own to help draft the constitution, in a manner that meets the requirements of this agreement, and which upholds our traditions as a Kingdom."

"As I near the end of my reign, I wish to thank all of my loyal subjects for having worked to improve our nation," Kupakwashe said. "I thank you all for contributing to our prosperity, and I sincerely hope that when Munashe Ngonidzashe ascends the throne on the twenty-first of September, that you will continue your hard works and your efforts to improve the Kingdom of Rwizikuru."

"No matter if you are veRwizi, if you are Marathi, if you are white, Senrian, or anyone else, you have played a very valuable role in the development of our great nation," Kupakwashe concluded. "You are all part of the great Rwizikuran nation, and I sincerely wish you all the best of luck in continuing your efforts in making Rwizikuru a great place for all people to live, and a place that all those outside can envy for our achievements."

"Thank you, and God bless Rwizikuru, and God bless the Mambo."
