Referendum on a new Turkestani Soviet Republic (OPEN/IC)

Postby Union of Sovereign States and Republics » Thu Jul 18, 2019 2:56 pm

Recent upheavals in Turanism within the Central Asian SSR's have brought up an interesting concept; a new, pan-Turkic Soviet Republic made out of the four Uzbek, Tajiki, Turkmen, and Kyrgyz Soviet Republics.

The flag of the new Turkestani/Turk Soviet Republic would be the traditional flag of Turkestan; red-and white alternating stripes with a star and crescent on the flagpole.

Members in the Supreme Soviet have objected to the idea; primarily the neo-fascist Liberal Democratic Party, as expected, but also surprisingly the Conservative Christian and Communist Parties, with the last 2 parties saying that they do not want to alter the politics of the region, who have been supportive of the Communist and Conservative Christian parties, while the Liberal Democrats say that they don't want to "alter Russian influence" on the region.

So, this begs the question: Should Turkestan be a single, new Soviet Republic?
