During 2018 we received and welcomed 4,711,910 foreign international tourists, 1,109,339 from Canada our largest source of international tourists, 637,907 from the USA and 600,306 from our oversees ethnic Cuban immigrant community from all over the world, most from the USA, including more than one trip per year.

We received and welcomed at least 1,075,522 from the EU nations, 21,127 from Australia, some from New Zealand, 19,157 from Japan, 171,555 from Mexico, and other nations, we thank them for helping the democratic revolution through these difficult economic times due to the US Economic and Tourism embargo blockade of The USA of America under President Donald J Trump.

Due to the recent restrictions and reductions in the people to people contacts and the ban on US Cruise ship and private yachts tourists to La Habana Cuba, we expect a considerable reduction in the number of international tourists to La Habana Cuba during 2019, we will not be able to meet our goal of at least 5,000,000 plus international foreign tourists during 2019.

While we are going through difficult economic times, despite low production, lower exports and higher imports, machine breakdowns, a lack of spare parts, higher consumer prices, food and goods rationing, power blackouts and The US Economic and Tourism Economic Embargo Blockade of President Donald J Trump of The USA of America, The La Habana Cuban economy grew 2.20 % during 2018 than the previously reported 1.20 %, so since we grew at 2.20 % it will be hard to grow at 1.50 % during 2019, so I have ordered a wage increase for at least 2 million civil servants and pensioners along with price controls.

We must produce more, export more and reduce imports.
