How do I add images to factbooks?

I’ve tried placing stuff like this (without the code part)

but it doesn’t work
is it because I’m on mobile? I’m confused.. I’m probably doing something wrong but I’m not sure what, am I supposed to put the name of the image into the [img] thing? Do I just need to try to get a better file type? I’m really stuck on this, can someone please help, I’ve made sure [img] is ON

You need to upload the image to an image hosting site first. I use Imgur, but there are other options available.

Have you inserted the URL of the photo?

If you’re using imgur (for example), don’t use the URL of the page you see the photo, instead, copy the photo (by tapping continuously the photo) by using the copy option on your phone.

It works for mobile. My factbooks have tons of photos, all of them uploaded from my phone.

Okay thanks guys, actually i just made a map on Adobe Draw then took a pic of part of it then uploaded it the the iCloud, how do I even upload images to imgur, is there an app? that’ll probably work

Here's Imgur.

You can sign-up here. That way, you can set your images so they're not publicly findable. Or, I think you can upload without signing in (but I've never done that)

It has a very intuitive upload process IIRC, and then -- from there -- you should be able save the images to your factbook. I've used it for a dispatch before -- but not for this nation.

Well, I found a free way to upload images to nationstates factbook

1. Find or create pictures. Just get a picture or make your own
2. Upload. This is the tricky part. Some people cant use websites like Pinterest or Tinypic so if you want to do it for free then use google photos with your Google account. Just go to https://photos.google.com/ and upload an image.
3. Getting the link of the photo. For this, you will need to copy the link of your picture or if you are using google photos then just click the image in your photos gallery and then right-click and click open image in new tab. After that, you copy the link
4. Uploading in factbook. Finally, go to your factbook tab where you are writing. Type the following:
[img]______[/img]. The blank is the link of the image since I can't type there[size=50]

Finally, you are done! Google photos is just a free alternative and it is optional but I highly recommend using it because it is free and the picture is still in the same size and quality before you uploaded it. Have a lovely day![/size]
