The Autonomous State of Abbegea is the nation's last colonial holding and is located in the Columbian Sea. The Archipelago extends Kustlǎn's geographic reach into Vestrim.

I would to apologize for reapplying. I was inactive for a serious extent of time and when I realized I was taken off the map I never made an attempt to be put back until now.

I understand that this can undergo serious changes, but I have talked to Newrey and Tir Lhaeraidd in the past and I would be happy to collaborate with other nations interested in being part of the colonial history in that specific region.


Meithtalamh (meaning Rich Land in Mawr Lhaeraidh) was discovered by Lhaeridh explorers in the year 1619 and settled in 1622 by Alydians searching for religious freedom around the area 70 miles west of Caer Dyf on the river delta of the Meagher River.

The modern-day country of Meirthtalamh was a set of colonies ruled by Tir Lhaeridh as well as being home to settlements from other countries for a period of time, notably Lhedwin, Newrey, as well as Liiduria. For the most part, these colonies were mostly left free and very autonomous, having their own governments and laws. Towards the beginning of the colonization of the region, Tir Lhaeraidd had very little interest in the colonists outside of Caer Dyf, meaning that the people were at the will of the Western Expansion Company, a Lhaeridh company that paid these people to settle lands for their own benefits.

Many colonies were unhappy with the way things were going in the region and grew tired of being controlled by their colonists.

By the early 19th century, Meithtalamh was on the verge of rebellion. Many groups, such as the Men of Ennis had actively practiced acts of terrorism, such as attack people loyal to the crown of Tir Lhaeridh and also stealing weapons from barracks. The year 1819 was ultimately the breaking point, as the colonial troops were able to capture and execute 22 members of the Men of Ennis and it led to many oligarchs in the colonies to band together and fight off their colonial overlords in the XXX War, which Meithtalamh won in 1826. The victory allowed the colonies of Meithtalamh to form their own union free from the hands of Tir Lhaeraidd (the only notable exception being Caer Dyf, which remained part of Tir Lhaeraidd until today).

After victory, Meithtalamh established a republic that was mostly ran by more powerful and notable peoples. It wasn't until 1843 that all white men were able to vote, under the President at the time Alan Agnew. This was a major victory for men in the country as now they were finally able to vote. At the same time, Meithtalamh was able to purchase all of their current borders from Newrey by acquiring large amounts of land in their southern 4 states adding them to the union. The end of the 19th century saw civil war in Meithtalamh over the Northern Region being unhappy with the way the country was run, and how the North seemed to have no representation. The war was known as the Meithtalamhian Civil War (1874-1879) and ended in the North being united with the rest of the nation once more. Reconstruction occurred and helped unite the nation once again.

The 20th century saw Meithtalamh be mostly isolationist, worried about its own national affairs and the issues with their neighbors. It was also a time of large scale industry being born. It did not participate much in the Great War, only towards the conclusion for political gain. However, the government of Meithtalamh had been involved in filibustering in other countries of Vestric and Renneka, trying to find countries that can be colonies of their own, just like how the Asurans had colonies.

The mid to later 20th century saw Meithtalamh become more heavily involved in world affairs and also saw a serious growth in the country's wealth. It participated in the Second Great War on the side of the XXX and XXX.

The modern era of Meithtalamh is overall peaceful and is home to a unique culture filled with aspects of many other communities.

The geography of Meithtalamh is similar to the Eastern United States. It is heavily forested and also has a larger mountain range running through the center of it. In addition, it is very lush and green full of lakes and rivers running throughout it.

The climate of Meithtalamh is also very similar to North-Eastern U.S. states. For one, it has longer and colder winters with nice short and warm summers. The average winter day 0 Degrees Celsius and the average summer day is around 26 degrees Celsius.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
I think it will fill the role of an average power in the somewhat empty continent of Vestrim. I also do not see it being a world power by any means, nor will it have a powerful military, more-so one for the defense of national borders as well as national waters.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: I would likely reduce the size of the population, and probably make the country have industrialized later on in its history to make it have had a slower start to modernity.

How did you hear about Aeia? I have heard about it from multiple people, and I am aware it is the biggest region of this type of roleplay.

Brief background of nation: Moderately sized nation which was united under one banner on November 22, 1387 under Chief Qoraokllo Maygua Chakana The Chakana family would rule for 150 years. The following half millennia held not much action except for a few wars and your average nation building. It was only until 1872 in which Islacuces would have its first civil conflict over the 1872 presidential election in which Presidential candidates Izhi Alca Huachalla and Chuqi Soncco Pinto in which neither candidate won the required majority, the winner ended up being decided by the majority democratic congress in which the republicans saw it as unfair and demanded to restart the vote. hundreds died in the ensuing clashes from both sides. Following the event there would be a subtle division and disdain for the opposing party. After the Great War the Islacurces economy suffered with the war impacting every corner of the planet, it was with this that Sumailli Quelka Sulca began to spread the ideals of communism to the people and established the United People's Communist Party. With the 1904 presidential election seeing Sulca elected and the 1906 Senate elections giving the UPCP swing power in congress the two parties had no choice but to concede to the UPCP wishes. 1904-1908 saw the Islacruces economy stabilize and slowly recover, although it isn't officially known if it was the UPCP doing or not they rode the wave of success which would win them a super majority in the senate and see a UPCP aligned president for the next 12 years. It would be after the 1916 elections which would see a Republican become president that the UPCP would begin to slowly and subtlety erode political rights. With the senate refusing to allow almost any bill to pass it became obvious to the people that the UPCP was purposely doing so and on February 22nd 1919 small protests began to pop up against the UPCP calling them heroes turned villains and calls to work with the other political parties slowly became louder. the day after election day it was the UPCP won the presidency once more and rumors began to surface on election meddling. The quick and sudden backlash from UPCP officials only served to fan the flames of the rumor and protests rose in demand for a recount of the vote only for them to realize that the UPCP has made it so that election results are final. This would cause an uproar throughout the nation as people from both the Democratic and Republican party united against the UPCP and would hold the largest protests seen in its history. Weeks of protests had made tensions and on April 23rd an fight broke out bwtween protesters and police which ended with police firing into the crowd killing 12 and injuring 15 people. This would be the start of aggression against police and the government. Several states of the Islacruces nation would secede and would start the Islacrucan Civil War. The war lasted from 1921-1926 with the overthrowing and execution of all UPCP officials and the President. During the in between from the end of the war to the 1928 elections. During the war several groups would gain power, the most powerful being the Islacruces National Party, who believed in a pure and powerful nation. After the war the INP would begin to secure its position and either take over or gain support from the people and they would eventually self declare themselves rulers of Islacruces. During their reign they would actively seek to help out native Islacrucian citizens, while ignoring immigrants and ethnic minorities. The INP would then place their attention to those non-native and would begin to discriminate against them making them second class citizens. They would deny government assistance to them as well as make life uncomfortable in order to make them leave the nation. During 1962 the government would them begin to round up non-natives and send them to secretive locations. Word would them leak out that the government was deporting them out of the country and eventually would straight up begin to execute them. This would cause a massive uproar throughout the nation and large protests would breakout in major cities. The government would crackdown hard and would lead to several militia groups would rise and eventually civil war would break out once more. Although lasting only a year and two months the damage would be significant and the human cost massive. Over 264,000 would lose their lives as well as 3,756,775 ethnic minorities. After the war the government would be heavily criticized and would be closely monitored and any ideas that would move to far to the left or right would be heavily scrutinized. For 56 Years the Islacruces Governments would make attempts to rectify the wrongs committed and would seek to make life well for all citizens.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): While a moderate sized nation, it boats an average economy as well as a formidable military, however its political structure is quite fragile, with gridlock being the norm barely anything is passed with each party only caring for their own goals and looking out for their own. Politically the people of Islacruces are divided, with most still willing to discuss differences while a small minority slowly resorting to violence.

Kustlǎn is bordered by Juznia to the West, Hytekia to the South-West, Tudonia to the South, Mascylla to the west and Dosceriche to the Northwest. The Federation also shares a sea border with Alriika. The Autonomous State of Abbegea is the nation's last colonial holding and is located in the Columbian Sea and to the north of Mascyllary Tainoa. The Archipelago extends Kustlǎn's geographic reach into Vestrim. As well as Abbegea, several uninhabited rocks and small islands are located in the South Opal Ocean. The largest being Kjeldhaven to the south of Isle Lavoueye.

Meithtalamh (meaning Rich Land in Mawr Lhaeraidh) was discovered by Lhaeridh explorers in the year 1619 and settled in 1622 by Alydians searching for religious freedom around the area 70 miles west of Caer Dyf on the river delta of the Meagher River.

The modern-day country of Meirthtalamh was a set of colonies ruled by Tir Lhaeridh as well as being home to settlements from other countries for a period of time, notably Lhedwin, Newrey, as well as Liiduria. For the most part, these colonies were mostly left free and very autonomous, having their own governments and laws. Towards the beginning of the colonization of the region, Tir Lhaeraidd had very little interest in the colonists outside of Caer Dyf, meaning that the people were at the will of the Western Expansion Company, a Lhaeridh company that paid these people to settle lands for their own benefits.

During the mid to late 18th century, Meithtalamh was home to a wealthy colonial region, famous for its agriculture as well as timber and other natural resources desired by Asurans and other old world peoples. Meithtalamh was also no longer as neglected by its parent country and experienced more heavy taxation and laws put in place within the region. Certain colonies, such as the Attalia Colony (a modern day Meithtalamhian state, named after a native tribe as well as a valley), which was able to successfully push out Lhaeridh soldiers as well as tax collectors and set up its own government. Many colonies were unhappy with the way things were going in the region and grew tired of being controlled by their colonists.

By the early 19th century, Meithtalamh was on the verge of rebellion. Many groups, such as the Men of Ennis had actively practiced acts of terrorism, such as attack people loyal to the crown of Tir Lhaeridh and also stealing weapons from barracks. The year 1819 was ultimately the breaking point, as the colonial troops were able to capture and execute 22 members of the Men of Ennis and it led to many oligarchs in the colonies to band together and fight off their colonial overlords in the XXX War, which Meithtalamh won in 1826. The victory allowed the colonies of Meithtalamh to form their own union free from the hands of Tir Lhaeraidd (the only notable exception being Caer Dyf, which remained part of Tir Lhaeraidd until today).

After victory, Meithtalamh established a republic that was mostly ran by more powerful and notable peoples. It wasn't until 1843 that all white men were able to vote, under the President at the time Alan Agnew. This was a major victory for men in the country as now they were finally able to vote. At the same time, Meithtalamh was able to purchase all of their current borders from Newrey by acquiring large amounts of land in their southern 4 states adding them to the union. The end of the 19th century saw civil war in Meithtalamh over the Northern Region being unhappy with the way the country was run, and how the North seemed to have no representation. The war was known as the Meithtalamhian Civil War (1874-1879) and ended in the North being united with the rest of the nation once more. Reconstruction occurred and helped unite the nation once again.

The 20th century saw Meithtalamh be mostly isolationist, worried about its own national affairs and the issues with their neighbors. It was also a time of large scale industry being born. It did not participate much in the Great War, only towards the conclusion for political gain. However, the government of Meithtalamh had been involved in filibustering in other countries of Vestric and Renneka, trying to find countries that can be colonies of their own, just like how the Asurans had colonies.

The mid to later 20th century saw Meithtalamh become more heavily involved in world affairs and also saw a serious growth in the country's wealth. It participated in the Second Great War on the side of the XXX and XXX.

The modern era of Meithtalamh is overall peaceful and is home to a unique culture filled with aspects of many other communities.

Geography and climate of nation:
The geography of Meithtalamh is similar to the Eastern United States. It is heavily forested and also has a larger mountain range running through the center of it. In addition, it is very lush and green full of lakes and rivers running throughout it.

The climate of Meithtalamh is also very similar to North-Eastern U.S. states. For one, it has longer and colder winters with nice short and warm summers. The average winter day 0 Degrees Celsius and the average summer day is around 26 degrees Celsius.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
I think it will fill the role of an average power in the somewhat empty continent of Vestrim. I also do not see it being a world power by any means, nor will it have a powerful military, more-so one for the defense of national borders as well as national waters.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: I would likely reduce the size of the population, and probably make the country have industrialized later on in its history to make it have had a slower start to modernity.

How did you hear about Aeia? I have heard about it from multiple people, and I am aware it is the biggest region of this type of roleplay.

(strengths/weaknesses): While a moderate sized nation, it boats a formidable economy as well as a formidable military, however its political structure is quite fragile, with gridlock being the norm barely anything is passed with each party only caring for their own goals and looking out for their own. Politically the people of Islacruces are divided, with most still willing to discuss differences while a small minority slowly resorting to violence.

I'm going to need more concrete information as to your chosen ethnic group before accepting this application. Additionally, i'm particularly concerned with the lack of history outlined and the only real concrete detail being a civil war and genocide which borders on the "edgy" side of worldbuilding we are very much opposed to. Additionally, your GDP per capita is unrealistic for the location and also doesnt factor in the state's likely status as an international pariah given its enacted genocide.

Brief background of nation (or IIWiki): Vlodomeria is a self-described imperial crowned republic where all political power rests within Vodzh of Vlodomeria, who is the sole authority and ruler of the Vlodomerian state. The Imperial Household and Elder Circle advise the vodzh on important matters of state. The Elder Circle, Imperial Debates, and Vojskevod also take part in the executive process, most notably the Vojskevod who handles matters deemed to be below the attention of the vodzh. The vodzh retains the ability to appoint and dismiss members of the Elder Circle, although internal politics often dictate the appointment and dismissal of councillors or councillor-captains. While presenting itself as a unitary state, the country is in fact highly decentralised with the central authority of the vodzh limited by aristocratic warlords, who themselves wield immense political and economic power, the Elder Circle, the Imperial Voice, and sometimes even the Vojskevod. Also at some point there was a mass conversion to Judaism ala Khazaria but I'm not quite sure how to fit it in to the history.

The armed forces are split into two parts: provincial armies and the Royal Guard. The provincial armies are recruited from and remain in their individual provinces, in theory, and are under the command of provincial warlords, who do not necessarily always heed the calls of the central government. They are generally poorly equipped and trained, comprising partially of PMCs and part-time citizen soldiers (think Swedish Homeguard) formed around a core of professional soldiers. The Royal Guard is the only purely professional army in Vlodomeria. Unlike most of the provincial armies, the Royal Guard is formed only from professional, career soldiers. They are given the best weapons, equipment, and training.

(strengths/weaknesses): Vlodomeria views itself as not only the successor of the Sukhbataaryn Khanate, but also as the many Classical Chalcian states that extensively colonised the western coast. This creates an interesting dynamic between Vlodomeria and its neighbours, where Vlodomeria officially considers all the nations in Sifhar as tributary states (obstinately ignoring any corrections otherwise), lending itself to a domineering and paternalistic outlook towards the Sifhar region as a whole. "Fortunately," for the rest of Sifhar, Vlodomeria's bloated bureaucracy suffers from near constant in-fighting between political cliques, and its military is considered downright archaic in terms of organisation.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: Reduce population. Everything else about the country is incredibly average-to-mediocre.

Brief background of nation (or IIWiki): I have ALOT of canon but I'll give basic run downs of the main bits that are fully fleshed out;
The Queendom is a Constitutional Monarchy in which the Queen still wields enormous power and almost complete defacto control over foreign policy, but most domestic policy is handled by an elected Peoples Assembly. The exacts of how it works is quite confusing but effectively the Queen can veto any law passed by the Peoples Assembly, BUT the Peoples Assembly can in turn overrule the Queens veto if they achieve a 3/4 Majority in the house. The system often brings the Assembly and more authoritarian Monarchs into conflict but overall it has worked well enough over the last 200 years.

Outside of the Queen and Assembly, the Admiralty also holds an enormous amount of political weight, having two permanent, un-elected, positions in the Assembly and 3 permanent spots on the Queens Privy Council, (as opposed to all other factions, who only have 1 permanent spot). Typically the Admiralty will side with the Queen on any and all matters but they have been known to oppose her if her foreign policies are perceived to be a threat to the continued Strength of the Eagle Navy.

Modern Mesairien can be dated as far back as 831 S.Y. (836 A.D.) when the peoples of the island chain rose up in a brutal decade long rebellion that cast off the yoke of Imperial oppression against an Empire that had occupied the islands for the better part of 3 centuries. (Canonically this was the Disdanian Empire but I'd be willing to let another player be the guy that conquered me before) The countries occupation and subsequent rebellion fashioned Mesairien culture for the many centuries that followed and even today the Nations populace are fiercely independent and un-trusting of foreign powers - especially thanks to conflicts during the age of colonisation.

The nation has been subjected to countless civil wars throughout its long history, the largest of these being the Noble War in 1264 S.Y., in which the most powerful Noble Houses banded together to assassinate the Queen, her eldest children and attempting to install the youngest of her daughters as a puppet Queen. All the while, framing the nations most powerful military asset at the time (The Rangers of Zenitath) as the primary culprit for the spring of murders in order to bring the general population on side.
However, the Nobles failed to kill the Middle daughter, Akemi, who fled and found her way to the Rangers - who inevitably rebelled - following 8 years of bloody conflict the Noble Houses were eventually defeated and in the Red Winter, the entirety of their lines were put to death, women and children included.
Thus bringing about the end to the Noble era and the beginning of the early Peoples Assembly.

During the 1930s to 40s the Queendom was subjected to a gruelling large scale conflict which saw the majority of the Eagle Navy lost and the economy almost completely collapse, foreign powers attempted multiple times to invade the Mesairien island chain but fierce resistance by the local population and guerrilla style attacks on resupply convoys by the remaining Fleet and Air force meant that most incursions into Home territory were short lived. This coupled with Allies in the conflict coming to the Queendoms aid, saw the nation barely hang on and survive until the end of the war, bent and battered but unbroken. The better part of the late 20th Century was spent rebuilding the economy and heavily investing even further into the Navy and Air Force.

Since attaining independence the Queendoms primary prerogative has been the defence of the islands, heavy investment into a Naval force that could defeat and, at the very least, pose significant challenge to any would be invader was, and still is, seen as paramount importance.
As such the Navy is the most heavily invested Military arm (Followed closely by the Air Force), and has been touted in the Modern era as Mesairien's Steel Wall against foreign aggressors.

The Queendom also has mandatory Military service, but most people tend to take the option of Reserve Duty, which means a longer service time (5 years as opposed to 2) but not active service.

I'll draw one if necessary but would rather just explain it - I'm an island chain of 5 islands that altogether are slightly bigger than the UK, with 2 Larger islands and 3 smaller ones dotted around. Was thinking of positioning on the left side of the map in the South-Eastern part of the Jade Sea. If possible I was thinking of it being slightly remote compared to other land masses.

Geography and climate of nation: Depends on the Islands but island chain is largely temperate and fairly distant from most other land masses,
Masire, Sero, Telsar: Largely flat, with several hilly regions contains large swaths of agricultural land, Masire contains the capitol city and most farming is done on these islands - think of Southern England for Masire and Sero and more Midlands for Telsar
Ria, Kienor: Heavily mountainous and sparsely forested, used to be densely forested but mining has stripped most of the dense areas away, most mining and attributed heavy industry is done on these two islands - think of the South Island in NZ/Scotland

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
I see Mesairien as having the capability to be a Major power but lacks the conviction or political will and so is just a fairly isolationist Regional Power, content to trade and patrol sea lanes within the Jade Sea but little else. That said, the Queendom would fiercely defend its interests, having a trade based economy, so if say its larger trading partners came under attack Mesairien would be forced to step in, if for no other reason than to protect its economy.
Strengths:
Strong Naval capability
Moderately self-sufficient in terms of Oil and Food supply

Weaknesses:
Weak Diplomacy - prior Queens have been moderately isolationist so few allies
Fragile Economy - Whilst strong, it is reliant on trade, cut it off or subjugate a large trading partner and the economy would likely collapse

Double Edged Sword:
Low Oil Consumption (Compared to the rest of the world) - The country banned all sale of automobiles and instead relies on public transport for most travel requirements and these in recent years are transitioning to electric power - as a result there are few tarmacked roads, heavy congestion on rail lines and buses and travel time around the country is much longer than it needs to be.

The Queendom is a Constitutional Monarchy in which the Queen still wields enormous power and almost complete defacto control over foreign policy, but most domestic policy is handled by an elected Peoples Assembly. The exacts of how it works is quite confusing but effectively the Queen can veto any law passed by the Peoples Assembly, BUT the Peoples Assembly can in turn overrule the Queens veto if they achieve a 3/4 Majority in the house. The system often brings the Assembly and more authoritarian Monarchs into conflict but overall it has worked well enough over the last 200 years.

Outside of the Queen and Assembly, the Admiralty also holds an enormous amount of political weight, having two permanent, un-elected, positions in the Assembly and 3 permanent spots on the Queens Privy Council, (as opposed to all other factions, who only have 1 permanent spot). Typically the Admiralty will side with the Queen on any and all matters but they have been known to oppose her if her foreign policies are perceived to be a threat to the continued Strength of the Eagle Navy.

Modern Mesairien can be dated as far back as 831 S.Y. (836 A.D.) when the peoples of the island chain rose up in a brutal decade long rebellion that cast off the yoke of Imperial oppression against an Empire that had occupied the islands for the better part of 3 centuries. (Canonically this was the Disdanian Empire but I'd be willing to let another player be the guy that conquered me before) The countries occupation and subsequent rebellion fashioned Mesairien culture for the many centuries that followed and even today the Nations populace are fiercely independent and un-trusting of foreign powers - especially thanks to conflicts during the age of colonisation.

The nation has been subjected to countless civil wars throughout its long history, the largest of these being the Noble War in 1264 S.Y., in which the most powerful Noble Houses banded together to assassinate the Queen, her eldest children and attempting to install the youngest of her daughters as a puppet Queen. All the while, framing the nations most powerful military asset at the time (The Rangers of Zenitath) as the primary culprit for the spring of murders in order to bring the general population on side.
However, the Nobles failed to kill the Middle daughter, Akemi, who fled and found her way to the Rangers - who inevitably rebelled - following 8 years of bloody conflict the Noble Houses were eventually defeated and in the Red Winter, the entirety of their lines were put to death, women and children included.
Thus bringing about the end to the Noble era and the beginning of the early Peoples Assembly.

I'll draw one if necessary but would rather just explain it - I'm an island chain of 5 islands that altogether are slightly bigger than the UK, with 2 Larger islands and 3 smaller ones dotted around. Was thinking of positioning on the left side of the map in the South-Eastern part of the Jade Sea. If possible I was thinking of it being slightly remote compared to other land masses.

Ria, Kienor: Heavily mountainous and sparsely forested, used to be densely forested but mining has stripped most of the dense areas away, most mining and attributed heavy industry is done on these two islands - think of the South Island in NZ/Scotland

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
I see Mesairien as having the capability to be a Major power but lacks the conviction or political will and so is just a fairly isolationist Regional Power, content to trade and patrol sea lanes within the Jade Sea but little else. That said, the Queendom would fiercely defend its interests, having a trade based economy, so if say its larger trading partners came under attack Mesairien would be forced to step in, if for no other reason than to protect its economy.
Strengths:
Strong Naval capability
Moderately self-sufficient in terms of Oil and Food supply

Weaknesses:
Weak Diplomacy - prior Queens have been moderately isolationist so few allies
Fragile Economy - Whilst strong, it is reliant on trade, cut it off or subjugate a large trading partner and the economy would likely collapse

Double Edged Sword:
Low Oil Consumption (Compared to the rest of the world) - The country banned all sale of automobiles and instead relies on public transport for most travel requirements and these in recent years are transitioning to electric power - as a result there are few tarmacked roads, heavy congestion on rail lines and buses and travel time around the country is much longer than it needs to be.

The Commonwealth of Ushouaia (Tekenika: Ūsi Ushwaia; lit. 'Land of Ushwaia') is a sovereign federal parlimentary republic occupying the northern peninsula of Frigidarum- the only habitable land on the continent. It is the only sovereign state located entirely on the continent of Frigidarum and is also one of the most sparsely populated nations in the world, with a population of only 42,341 people yet a land area of around xxx,xxxkm2. The peninsula had long been inhabited by the Tekinika people, indigenous to the harsh mountainous terrain that made up the land.

The Commonwealth of Ushouaia is made up of 24 municipalities each with their own elected municipal councils subordinate to the federal government at the capital, Manö-Sössönata.

With the first sightings of the continent in the late 18th century, further exploration into the desolate landmass quickly smashed the Tekinikan's isolation and instead bringing the region under the brutal aegis of Asuran colonization. Swathes of the indigenous populace were wiped out my disease, while many others were forcefully integrated with the foreign colonizers. Despite the natives being 'civilized' through colonization, the region still remained backward and undeveloped as a result of its unforgiving climate and terrain. Upon independence in the aftermath of the Great War, the Ushouaian government found itself in a precarious position with one of the smallest populations yet a massive land area that it was unable to effectively control in its early years of existence.

The mid-20th century finally brought change to the nation's situation, with government modernization policies successfully being able to modernize fisheries and urbanized the coastal populace through the consolidation of settlements. With the success of the programmes, Ushouaia today has managed a strong public sector yet heavily dependent on the fishing industries with a high human development index. Although not extremely wealthy, the country's residents enjoy a high standard of living and the state is characterized as a developing nation. In recent years, the government has increasingly ventured into the extraction of oil from the continent's vast oil reserves.

Geography and climate of nation: Ushouaia generally has a Tundra (ET) climate, although parts of northern Ushouaia are Subpolar oceanic (Cfc). A tundra climate prevails throughout most of the country and is characterized by mountains and temperatures low enough to maintain permanent ice fields.
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): As the only nation in Frigidarum, I can see Ushouaia being a major player in Antarctic politics as it is in one of the best positions to project its power across Polar Frigidarum which may pose a threat to others willing to those seeking to exploit the continent of its natural resources. However, the country is extremely sparsely populated and its power is thus severely limited.

Brief background of nation (or IIWiki): Founded as a small collection of private merchant colonies dotted around what is known as the Azure Coast, the largest being the city of Elvarica. These colonies became quite wealthy due to trade connections with the old world, with many cultural minorities (mostly catalan, aragonese and occitan) were forcefully deported to these colonies. After centuries of rule, political and social tensions within the colonies began to flare up leading to the formation of several socialist and anarchist militias across the several trade cities spanning the colonies. With political tension at home, these militias took the opportunity to declare the colonies independance under Màrius Vallori, a former military general from the city of Elvarica, inspired by a similar socialist revolution in nearby Motsvara,

This revolution would eventually develop into years of guerrilla warfare as the colonists liberated the catalan and aragonese populations of the colonies and began a campaign to force their overlords out of the colonies. Things would eventually turn in favour of the revolutionaries at the battle of the Elvarica (River), in which loyalist forces would be routed and scattered by a revolutionary army, leading to the eventual capture of Elvarica City by revolutionary paramilitaries. Following a short ceremony in the city, with revolutionary forces now in control of most of the countryside as well as the largest city in the colonies, the revolutionaries formally signed their declaration of independance.

Màrius Vallori would soon be appointed the first president of this republic and leader of the revolution. The city of Elvarica would be renamed to Valloria in his honour, and the colonists would officially adopt the name of the Vallorian Commonwealth. Having gained much legitimacy, support for the rebellion surged and many colonists who had previously fought for the loyalists now deserted their masters and joined the revolutionary cause, leading to a number of revolutionary victories until the colonists were forced to surrender at Amozela, as many members of the colonial government and military were forced to flee the colonies through this beseiged city.

Following the Battle of Amozela, all remaining loyalist forces in the commonwealth formally surrendered and the revolutionaries took control of the areas they had captured, matching the modern borders of the commonwealth today. Vallori would now begin a series of reforms, introducing a democratic confederation in the colonies and granting more power to the states within. A socialist system of government would be adopted, however due to their past as a merchant colony and a high merchant population, this would soon take the form of a socialist market economy.

Industrialisation would lead to economic boom in the nation, as population began to rise and the nation began to use its industrial capabilites and manpower to become a significant manufacturing hub in the modern world.

The nation consists of large coastal lowlands with more fertile plains and forested areas, as well as low lying mountain ranges as you head further north and inland, most of the population is concentrated around the larger industrial coastal cities with inland being slightly less so, except around major cities along the nations major rivers.

The Vallorian Commonwealth is based around large river valleys, with the principal rivers of the Elvarica, the Tola and Bravelas Rivers allowing the nation to retain a large fertile inland, seperating the industrial coast from the more agricultural inland plains. the Nations northern border is protected by the Auberçon mountain range, surrounded by an area of hinterland and tablelands that slowly descend into the fertile plains that span most of the nation.

(strengths/weaknesses): The nation has a decent economy and population the nation has become a large manufacturing hub in the new world. However, the nation lacks many natural resources of its own with a mostly industrial economy in the south and on the coast, while the north is more agricultural. This means that its economy relies on a continued stream of resource imports, which allow it to fuel its industrial economy. However, it can luckily keep up agriculturally and is able to sustain its population if needed. On top of this, the nation (Due to its nature as a socialist confederation), finds it hard to motivate its population to engage militarily and the populace refuse to allow the nation to be brought into international conflicts, unless its hand is forced, so our military prowess does not quite reflect that of our size as we have been unable to create a large scale professional army.

If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: Reduce the population, maybe slightly reduce the GDP per Capita.

The blare of the plane’s intercom rouses Adamus from his sleep with a jolt, it’s stringent sound reverberating off the walls of the luxurious jet.

“We can expect to land in Rome in a few minutes Consul Adamus, Imperial air control has informed us that you will be greeted by guardsmen at the landing strip.”

Adamus leans over to the intercom and presses the bright red button near the bottom

“Thank you, inform me if there are any developments.”

Adamus leans back in his chair with a sigh, he had not been in the Empire since he had volunteered to join the Sacrotania Evocatii Legiones XV at the age of sixteen, that was near forty years ago. He had signed up to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Legatus Lucius Artemonius Octavianus, who had joined the same legion to fight in the Russo-Sacrotanian War over a century earlier. Octavianus had spent very little time in the Imperial City itself, only visiting briefly for a parade meant to see him and his comrades off before they departed for their new role in helping to defend their fellow citizens of the extended empire in Sacrotania.

He would be lying if he said he wasn’t a bit nervous to be returning to home, or at least the Imperials would refer to it as that. He still remembered the days before Emperor Avius’ rise to power, the rise of the “Adavulf” had certainly helped to raise the prestige of the Imperial Germans, though it couldn’t have gotten much worse. The barbaric northerners had certainly soured many Latins on the Alpine territories. Sacrotania had always been a bit further ahead in tolerance than the fatherland, or at least he had thought that before the Nationalists. Despite this, he had always thought more accepted among the Norse populace, which were much more welcoming to the vast amounts of Germanic Romans who had emigrated to avoid the prejudice they had faced back in the Empire itself, with Germanic and Norse Romans eventually forming the ruling elite of the nation. A heritage which Sacrotania remains proud of to this day.

With a slight groan he stands up from his chair and pours himself a glass of wine from the province of Quebistansus, taking small sips as he takes a look out of his window downwards over Rome, the so called Eternal City. It certainly looked nice from above, though his eyes weren’t as good as they used to be.

At a young age his father told him to both love the empire which had protected them and yet still stay proud of his German heritage, something that had stuck with him for many years and cemented his reformist political beliefs, calling for unity between all Roman peoples.

His father had been furious when Octavianus left the empire, so much as calling him a coward for running from the “The great patriotic German struggle”. But that was far in the past, and Octavianus had long since forgiven his somewhat idealistic father. Octavian decided to remain in Sacrotania after serving his term and he had gained citizenship soon afterwards for his service. He went on to join the Armati Virium Sacrotanii, rising quickly through the ranks soon becoming one of the highest ranking members of the organization, taking much inspiration from Julius Caesar and Alexander Argead’s commands. Many Sacrotanian’s went to so far as to begin to call him a successor to his grandfather, one of the three Patrum Sacrotanii, who had personally lead the Sacrotanian counterattack during the Russo-Sacrotanian War. Soon enough, he had been appointed as the first consul of the nation he had helped build, Consul Adamus Artemonius Octavianus Sacrotanius, sounded nice. With his efforts in forming the Res Publica Secundi Sacrotanium leading many to refer to him as the fourth and newest member of the Patrum Sacrotanii, the most revered individuals who had lead his nation throughout his it's short but conflicted history.

“Sir, please fasten your seatbelt , we are beginning descent.”

The intercom once more blared out it’s landing warning, interrupting Octavianus’ thoughts. He supposes the time to dwell on the past was over, there was to much to do in the present. Octavianus straps himself back into his seat and gazes out the window.

The landing is quick and efficient, Octavianus rises to leave as one of the pilots opens the door for him. He blocks the sun from his eyes, they’re sensitive after sitting in the plane for a few hours. He is quickly greeted by a number of Praetorian guards on completing his descent down the steps. One of the praetorians, noticeably the commander of the forces sent to greet him, dressed in a neat black dress uniform with various Imperial insignia and the identifying thin strip of Tyrian purple on his cap, steps forward to speak.

“General Adamus, welcome home.”

The Queendom is a Constitutional Monarchy in which the Queen still wields enormous power and almost complete defacto control over foreign policy, but most domestic policy is handled by an elected Peoples Assembly. The exacts of how it works is quite confusing but effectively the Queen can veto any law passed by the Peoples Assembly, BUT the Peoples Assembly can in turn overrule the Queens veto if they achieve a 3/4 Majority in the house. The system often brings the Assembly and more authoritarian Monarchs into conflict but overall it has worked well enough over the last 200 years.

Outside of the Queen and Assembly, the Admiralty also holds an enormous amount of political weight, having two permanent, un-elected, positions in the Assembly and 3 permanent spots on the Queens Privy Council, (as opposed to all other factions, who only have 1 permanent spot). Typically the Admiralty will side with the Queen on any and all matters but they have been known to oppose her if her foreign policies are perceived to be a threat to the continued Strength of the Eagle Navy.

Modern Mesairien can be dated as far back as 831 S.Y. (836 A.D.) when the peoples of the island chain rose up in a brutal decade long rebellion that cast off the yoke of Imperial oppression against an Empire that had occupied the islands for the better part of 3 centuries. (Canonically this was the Disdanian Empire but I'd be willing to let another player be the guy that conquered me before) The countries occupation and subsequent rebellion fashioned Mesairien culture for the many centuries that followed and even today the Nations populace are fiercely independent and un-trusting of foreign powers - especially thanks to conflicts during the age of colonisation.

The nation has been subjected to countless civil wars throughout its long history, the largest of these being the Noble War in 1264 S.Y., in which the most powerful Noble Houses banded together to assassinate the Queen, her eldest children and attempting to install the youngest of her daughters as a puppet Queen. All the while, framing the nations most powerful military asset at the time (The Rangers of Zenitath) as the primary culprit for the spring of murders in order to bring the general population on side.
However, the Nobles failed to kill the Middle daughter, Akemi, who fled and found her way to the Rangers - who inevitably rebelled - following 8 years of bloody conflict the Noble Houses were eventually defeated and in the Red Winter, the entirety of their lines were put to death, women and children included.
Thus bringing about the end to the Noble era and the beginning of the early Peoples Assembly.

During the 1930s to 40s the Queendom was subjected to a gruelling large scale conflict which saw the majority of the Eagle Navy lost and the economy almost completely collapse, foreign powers attempted multiple times to invade the Mesairien island chain but fierce resistance by the local population and guerrilla style attacks on resupply convoys by the remaining Fleet and Air force meant that most incursions into Home territory were short lived. This coupled with Allies in the conflict coming to the Queendoms aid, saw the nation barely hang on and survive until the end of the war, bent and battered but unbroken. The better part of the late 20th Century was spent rebuilding the economy and heavily investing even further into the Navy and Air Force.

Since attaining independence the Queendoms primary prerogative has been the defence of the islands, heavy investment into a Naval force that could defeat and, at the very least, pose significant challenge to any would be invader was, and still is, seen as paramount importance.
As such the Navy is the most heavily invested Military arm (Followed closely by the Air Force), and has been touted in the Modern era as Mesairien's Steel Wall against foreign aggressors.

The Queendom also has mandatory Military service, but most people tend to take the option of Reserve Duty, which means a longer service time (5 years as opposed to 2) but not active service.

I'll draw one if necessary but would rather just explain it - I'm an island chain of 5 islands that altogether are slightly bigger than the UK, with 2 Larger islands and 3 smaller ones dotted around. Was thinking of positioning on the left side of the map in the South-Eastern part of the Jade Sea. If possible I was thinking of it being slightly remote compared to other land masses.

Geography and climate of nation: Depends on the Islands but island chain is largely temperate and fairly distant from most other land masses,
Masire, Sero, Telsar: Largely flat, with several hilly regions contains large swaths of agricultural land, Masire contains the capitol city and most farming is done on these islands - think of Southern England for Masire and Sero and more Midlands for Telsar
Ria, Kienor: Heavily mountainous and sparsely forested, used to be densely forested but mining has stripped most of the dense areas away, most mining and attributed heavy industry is done on these two islands - think of the South Island in NZ/Scotland

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
I see Mesairien as having the capability to be a Major power but lacks the conviction or political will and so is just a fairly isolationist Regional Power, content to trade and patrol sea lanes within the Jade Sea but little else. That said, the Queendom would fiercely defend its interests, having a trade based economy, so if say its larger trading partners came under attack Mesairien would be forced to step in, if for no other reason than to protect its economy.
Strengths:
Strong Naval capability
Moderately self-sufficient in terms of Oil and Food supply

Weaknesses:
Weak Diplomacy - prior Queens have been moderately isolationist so few allies
Fragile Economy - Whilst strong, it is reliant on trade, cut it off or subjugate a large trading partner and the economy would likely collapse

Double Edged Sword:
Low Oil Consumption (Compared to the rest of the world) - The country banned all sale of automobiles and instead relies on public transport for most travel requirements and these in recent years are transitioning to electric power - as a result there are few tarmacked roads, heavy congestion on rail lines and buses and travel time around the country is much longer than it needs to be.

The Vallorian Commonwealth is based around large river valleys, with the principal rivers of the Elvarica, the Tola and Bravelas Rivers allowing the nation to retain a large fertile inland, seperating the industrial coast from the more agricultural inland plains. the Nations northern border is protected by the Auberçon mountain range, surrounded by an area of hinterland and tablelands that slowly descend into the fertile plains that span most of the nation.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): The nation has a decent economy and population the nation has become a large manufacturing hub in the new world. However, the nation lacks many natural resources of its own with a mostly industrial economy in the south and on the coast, while the north is more agricultural. This means that its economy relies on a continued stream of resource imports, which allow it to fuel its industrial economy. However, it can luckily keep up agriculturally and is able to sustain its population if needed. On top of this, the nation (Due to its nature as a socialist confederation), finds it hard to motivate its population to engage militarily and the populace refuse to allow the nation to be brought into international conflicts, unless its hand is forced, so our military prowess does not quite reflect that of our size as we have been unable to create a large scale professional army.

If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: Reduce the population, maybe slightly reduce the GDP per Capita.

The blare of the plane’s intercom rouses Adamus from his sleep with a jolt, it’s stringent sound reverberating off the walls of the luxurious jet.

“We can expect to land in Rome in a few minutes Consul Adamus, Imperial air control has informed us that you will be greeted by guardsmen at the landing strip.”

Adamus leans over to the intercom and presses the bright red button near the bottom

“Thank you, inform me if there are any developments.”

Adamus leans back in his chair with a sigh, he had not been in the Empire since he had volunteered to join the Sacrotania Evocatii Legiones XV at the age of sixteen, that was near forty years ago. He had signed up to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Legatus Lucius Artemonius Octavianus, who had joined the same legion to fight in the Russo-Sacrotanian War over a century earlier. Octavianus had spent very little time in the Imperial City itself, only visiting briefly for a parade meant to see him and his comrades off before they departed for their new role in helping to defend their fellow citizens of the extended empire in Sacrotania.

He would be lying if he said he wasn’t a bit nervous to be returning to home, or at least the Imperials would refer to it as that. He still remembered the days before Emperor Avius’ rise to power, the rise of the “Adavulf” had certainly helped to raise the prestige of the Imperial Germans, though it couldn’t have gotten much worse. The barbaric northerners had certainly soured many Latins on the Alpine territories. Sacrotania had always been a bit further ahead in tolerance than the fatherland, or at least he had thought that before the Nationalists. Despite this, he had always thought more accepted among the Norse populace, which were much more welcoming to the vast amounts of Germanic Romans who had emigrated to avoid the prejudice they had faced back in the Empire itself, with Germanic and Norse Romans eventually forming the ruling elite of the nation. A heritage which Sacrotania remains proud of to this day.

With a slight groan he stands up from his chair and pours himself a glass of wine from the province of Quebistansus, taking small sips as he takes a look out of his window downwards over Rome, the so called Eternal City. It certainly looked nice from above, though his eyes weren’t as good as they used to be.

At a young age his father told him to both love the empire which had protected them and yet still stay proud of his German heritage, something that had stuck with him for many years and cemented his reformist political beliefs, calling for unity between all Roman peoples.

His father had been furious when Octavianus left the empire, so much as calling him a coward for running from the “The great patriotic German struggle”. But that was far in the past, and Octavianus had long since forgiven his somewhat idealistic father. Octavian decided to remain in Sacrotania after serving his term and he had gained citizenship soon afterwards for his service. He went on to join the Armati Virium Sacrotanii, rising quickly through the ranks soon becoming one of the highest ranking members of the organization, taking much inspiration from Julius Caesar and Alexander Argead’s commands. Many Sacrotanian’s went to so far as to begin to call him a successor to his grandfather, one of the three Patrum Sacrotanii, who had personally lead the Sacrotanian counterattack during the Russo-Sacrotanian War. Soon enough, he had been appointed as the first consul of the nation he had helped build, Consul Adamus Artemonius Octavianus Sacrotanius, sounded nice. With his efforts in forming the Res Publica Secundi Sacrotanium leading many to refer to him as the fourth and newest member of the Patrum Sacrotanii, the most revered individuals who had lead his nation throughout his it's short but conflicted history.

“Sir, please fasten your seatbelt , we are beginning descent.”

The intercom once more blared out it’s landing warning, interrupting Octavianus’ thoughts. He supposes the time to dwell on the past was over, there was to much to do in the present. Octavianus straps himself back into his seat and gazes out the window.

The landing is quick and efficient, Octavianus rises to leave as one of the pilots opens the door for him. He blocks the sun from his eyes, they’re sensitive after sitting in the plane for a few hours. He is quickly greeted by a number of Praetorian guards on completing his descent down the steps. One of the praetorians, noticeably the commander of the forces sent to greet him, dressed in a neat black dress uniform with various Imperial insignia and the identifying thin strip of Tyrian purple on his cap, steps forward to speak.

“General Adamus, welcome home.”

Brief background of nation (or IIWiki): Painisia was made up of several tribes and kingdoms before some lone fishermen from kingdoms located in the Columbian Sea arrived in the area where Suel is now located. Besides this small incident, the small kingdoms continued their daily life. But then, in 32 BC, some fishermen from the rival kingdom of Nechefual (located in the area surrounding Riazza della Taglierina) got lost and ended up in the land of Papagi (now Northern Painisia). They were thrilled by their discovery of new land and when they were sent back to Nechefual, they quickly informed the Emperor of their discovery. As a result, the Kingdom of Nechefual invaded the Kingdom of Papagi in 34 BC.

As a result, Nechefual entered a glorious epoch, where they gained massive amounts of profit as a result of the abundance of resources. Many flocked to Nechafual, captivated by its glory, including settlers from kingdoms surrounding the Asur Sea, who introduced the Latin alphabet to the Nechafualians. But in 100 AD, a rebellion was commenced by the native Papagi population. The Nechafualians responded with sheer brutality and a civil war ensued. The Civil War lasted until 389 AD and up until then the entire Nechafualian Empire had lost its glory and the Painisian continent was splintered up in different small kingdoms. The Painisian Continent entered then a dark age and suffered a socioeconomic collapse and was left desolate.

Suddenly, in the year 1168, exploring sailors from islands in the Columbian Sea arrived in Northern Painisia and settled there. The new settlers were pardoned by the native population and were allowed to establish their own kingdom: Pepuach. The Duchy of Pepuach grew in population and power a up until the year 1394, when the great poet and author Mark Erfuta wrote about the vision of a new great empire that would amass in strength and glory. He coined the name "Painisi" (meaning great fruitlands in the native language) for this hypothetical kingdom. Erfuta`s call was powerful enough to motivate the Duchy of Pepuach to collaborate with other nearby kingdoms to invade unknown land and eventually merge into the Empire of Painisi. Erfuta never ascended to the throne. Instead a generation of tyrants took over Painisi and made a bloody pagan religion a mandatory practice, and thereby pushing Painisi into a dark age of tyranny.
This lasted until 1664, when different duchies and kingdoms from the Northern Continent (kingdoms surrounding the Lhedwin Channel and Asur Sea) embarked on a conquest to colonize the Empire of Painisi. The amount of nations claiming a stake in Painisian land caused frictions and disputes which eventually erupted in the Great Painisian Wars (1699-1723). From 1723 to 1820, the current Painisia was made up of 4 kingdoms: the French-speaking Patonelisia, the Scandinavian Dutch ("Painisians") Painisier, the Hispanic Ceytano and the Italian-speaking Miuglizio. In 1809, the kingdom of Painisier entered a union with Patonelisia and conquered the two kingdoms in the Imperial Wars (1809-1820). In 1820, all four kingdoms signed The Declaration of The New Multilateral Unitary Empire, thereby establishing The Empire of Painisia.

But in 1838, The First Painisian Civil War broke out, as the Christian population protested against the Emperor`s wishes to secularize Painisia completely and repress different denominations. Peace was established in 1846, and in 1860 political parties were allowed by Imperial law. But in 1904, the conservative pro-Imperial military sieged power in a bloody coup. In 1914, Painisia declared against its neighboring nations in an attempt at establishing a "Greater Painisia". This war backfired and prompted widespread resentment towards the Emperor. As a result, the Emperor was deposed in 1916 and the First Republic was established. In 1936, the far-right section of the military staged a violent coup against the government and in 1938 they installed a reactionary fascist monarchy. As a result, in 1943 anti-fascists organized themselves in the Republican Army and waged a civil war against the regime. The Second Painisian Civil War ended in 1946, when the fascist army gave up in the battle of Renfroir. The Second Painisian Republic was established and in 1947 free elections were held.

Geography and climate of nation: The geography of Painisia is quite diverse, although there are not stark differences. Northern Painisia (Granderburg, Suel) is mainly made up of flat mixed woodlands and fertile lowlands. There are also some industrial districts in Northern Painisia. The climate is for the most year Mediterranean throughout the year, with warm summers (38C to 44C on average), to wet winters. Middle Eastern Painisia (From Silvoplait to Port Martin) is quite mountainous, where Painisia`s highest elevation point is located. The Mount Tuazni with an elevation point of 3,786 m. The winters are quite long up in the mountains, whereas in the areas with lower elevation points, the summers are mildly subtropical. Parts of Southern Painisia have warm-summer humid continental climates. In the areas surrounding Port Martin there are small jungle-lands. Most of Western Painisia has subtropical conditions, with wet winters and warm, dry summers. Overall, Painisia maintains a diversity in both geographical outlook and climate.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Painisia is for the most part a nation which indulges into diplomacy and dialogue between the nations. Painisia gladly hosts bilateral and multilateral talks between nations who wish to collaborate or get in agreement over an issue. It has a relatively good army, ready to defend Painisian territory against intrusion and eventual attacks. Once an individual turns 18 or older, a period military conscription/service over an year becomes compulsory. Furthermore, citizens are obliged to own a firearm (although there are restrictions in place) in their own home in case an invasion by a foreign force is going to take place.

But for the most part, Painisia would like to stay neutral during international wars and is currently pursuing a non-interventionist policy in foreign relations. However, there are exceptions. If Painisian citizens are at risk in a foreign nation, then our army will do anything to save them from the problematic situation they have fallen in.

Painisia has recently imported more than exporting, making it quite dependent on foreign nations. However, recent economic plans will make Painisia reintroduce the former import substitution industrialization policy, which is replacing foreign imports with local domestic production. So Painisia will become more economic independent, but will not advocate an aggressive mercantilist policy.

Geography and climate of nation: Mediterranean climate. The city itself is flanked by two deep rivers, and - prior to rapid urbanisation - the land surrounding much of the city was largely marshy. As mentioned, in the modern day much of the land controlled by the republic is heavily urbanised. The island chain owned by the city is largely rugged with some small hilly ranges, although the coastline is idyllic.
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Little in the way of hard power; the influence of the city would come from it's financial sector and status as a tax haven. While it is a wealthy, profitable city, it's GDP pales in comparison to actual nations. It would likely adopt a neutral or meditative stance in international politics, though might be persuaded to join the CDN dependent on the actions of Myria.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: GDP per capita could be reduced significantly if needed, further reducing the population would reduce the real GDP. Additionally further drawbacks that other small states faced (housing crisis, staggering economic divide, dwindling land for construction) could be incorporated or exacerbated.

History
Nothing set in stone yet, but besides likely sharing a similar ancient history with Greece (city-states, somewhat later cradle of civilisation etc.) I will be looking to keep it separate and different as much as possible. Until modern times the peninsula was likely never united, at least not for very long or by its native peoples.

Government
I'm looking at it being a flawed federation, with a relatively weak central authority that has failed to significantly reform or decrease the powers of the states. Politically the country likely has a large amount of parties on the federal and state level, and usually only has grand coalitions able to govern.

Peoples and religion
The main group are Myrians, who are !Greek, and speak any variety of dialects as well as the standard vernacular, and if they're educated enough also the formal standard. Myrians are mostly Alydian (I'll need to look into Alydianism before confirming), with some Muridin and others possibly pagan or something else

Sifharo-Myrians and Majulo-Myrians are Myrians either originating in those continents, or having naturalised there. They speak their own dialects plus the standard, and are largely Muridin but also with significant minorities of Alydian and other.

Everything else is pretty much under the other label, for border-minorities and immigrant peoples, who likely share their mother language and religion.

Geography and climate of nation: Myria proper is likely of a Mediterranean climate, largely temperate but some arid areas, and is quite mountainous. Myria's territory in Sifhar is also mountainous and mostly mediterranean climate, but far more arid with some desertification in areas.
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Likely a middle power in Asura, with an emphasis on soft power. I'm unsure what regional organisations it'd be in, or who it'd be aligned with, so would be happy to chat with others in Asura to see where it would work best. As for weakness probably a similar situation to Italy's north-south divide, but more dynamic between various states as well as the mainland v. sifhar.

Brenzhem was born from the aftermath of the fall of the Almannic Empire. Split into many different kingdoms, the region suffered from many different issues from war all the way to famine.

The Duchy of Brenzhem was born in 1656 and remained a minor power in the region. During this time, Brenzhem experienced a great rebirth of culture after that in the 1400s. Nobles, who could enjoy peace, were able to spend money on arts from around the world and also participate in a variety of culturally enriching events.

From here on, this is all suggested, I will talk to my Mascylla if they would like to work/fix this!
Brenzhem was originally absorbed into Mascylla during its unification and was part of the nation for around 200 years. It was a region with a variety of special permissions, such as the ability to have their own king and also it had high autonomy compared to other regions. Brenzhem's liberation always lingered in the thoughts of many and it eventually achieved independence in a short war that lasted between XXXX to XXXX. This gave Brenzhem the ability to be a free nation once again, something it had lost many years prior.

Into the modern era, Brenzhem has remained quiet existing on its own as a free state and one that mostly stayed outside of foreign affairs. Today, the nation is most famous for its traveling and its many natural beauties that really highlight the nation.

Geography and climate of nation:
Brenzhem is separated into three distinct regions climate-wise. The southernmost regions are quite pleasant thanks to the hills that protect it. It has a distinct difference between its four seasons and gets warm summers and in the winter has snowy and cold winters.

The central region of Brenzhem is cooler with shorter warm summers met with a long winter season that is noticeably colder than that in the southern regions of the country. This region is also much flatter and has mountains that run through the east on the border of Mascylla.

The north is much colder with the warmest summer days being at around only 21 degrees Celsius. Winters are very long and temperatures can drop extremely low. Snowstorms and even blizzards are not at all unusual and waters can see ice form in some regions. The Westensaar Mountains also are in the north, it has one of the largest glaciers in all of Asura known as "Alethone" Glacier.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
Clearly, Brenzhem is a minor power and is not going to at all be seen as a world power, nor would it be something to note on any world stage. It is small and almost irrelevant with the exception of its famous traveling and beauty throughout the country.

If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?:
The population would probably be dropped as well as the country's weather would be made harsher for more natural issues.

This lasted until 1664, when different duchies and kingdoms from the Northern Continent (Europeans) embarked on a conquest to colonize the Empire of Painisi. The amount of nations claiming a stake in Painisian land caused frictions and disputes which eventually erupted in the Great Painisian Wars (1699-1723). From 1723 to 1820, the current Painisia was made up of 4 kingdoms: the French-speaking Patonelisia, the Scandinavian Dutch ("Painisians") Painisier, the Hispanic Ceytano and the Italian-speaking Miuglizio. In 1809, the kingdom of Painisier entered a union with Patonelisia and conquered the two kingdoms in the Imperial Wars (1809-1820). In 1820, all four kingdoms signed The Declaration of The New Multilateral Unitary Empire, thereby establishing The Empire of Painisia.

But in 1838, The First Painisian Civil War broke out, as the Christian population protested against the Emperor`s wishes to secularize Painisia completely and repress different denominations. Peace was established in 1846, and in 1860 political parties were allowed by Imperial law. But in 1904, the conservative pro-Imperial military sieged power in a bloody coup. In 1914, Painisia declared against its neighboring nations in an attempt at establishing a "Greater Painisia". This war backfired and prompted widespread resentment towards the Emperor. As a result, the Emperor was deposed in 1916 and the First Republic was established. In 1936, the far-right section of the military staged a violent coup against the government and in 1938 they installed a reactionary fascist monarchy. As a result, in 1943 anti-fascists organized themselves in the Republican Army and waged a civil war against the regime. The Second Painisian Civil War ended in 1946, when the fascist army gave up in the battle of Renfroir. The Second Painisian Republic was established and in 1947 free elections were held.

Geography and climate of nation: The geography of Painisia is quite diverse, although there are not stark differences. Northern Painisia (Granderburg, Suel) is mainly made up of flat mixed woodlands and fertile lowlands. There are also some industrial districts in Northern Painisia. The climate is for the most year Mediterranean throughout the year, with warm summers (38C to 44C on average), to wet winters. Middle Eastern Painisia (From Silvoplait to Port Martin) is quite mountainous, where Painisia`s highest elevation point is located. The Mount Tuazni with an elevation point of 3,786 m. The winters are quite long up in the mountains, whereas in the areas with lower elevation points, the summers are mildly subtropical. Parts of Southern Painisia have warm-summer humid continental climates. In the areas surrounding Port Martin there are small jungle-lands. Most of Western Painisia has subtropical conditions, with wet winters and warm, dry summers. Overall, Painisia maintains a diversity in both geographical outlook and climate.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Painisia is for the most part a nation which indulges into diplomacy and dialogue between the nations. Painisia gladly hosts bilateral and multilateral talks between nations who wish to collaborate or get in agreement over an issue. It has a relatively good army, ready to defend Painisian territory against intrusion and eventual attacks. Once an individual turns 18 or older, a period military conscription/service over an year becomes compulsory. Furthermore, citizens are obliged to own a firearm (although there are restrictions in place) in their own home in case an invasion by a foreign force is going to take place.

But for the most part, Painisia would like to stay neutral during international wars and is currently pursuing a non-interventionist policy in foreign relations. However, there are exceptions. If Painisian citizens are at risk in a foreign nation, then our army will do anything to save them from the problematic situation they have fallen in.

Painisia has recently imported more than exporting, making it quite dependent on foreign nations. However, recent economic plans will make Painisia reintroduce the former import substitution industrialization policy, which is replacing foreign imports with local domestic production. So Painisia will become more economic independent, but will not advocate an aggressive mercantilist policy.

In the near future, Painisia might become a federal parliamentary republic. Furthermore, my history fact books mentions that Painisia was colonized by the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire doesn't exist in the Aeia universe, so I will make changes in the history factbooks.


There are several issues with this application. First and foremost is the fact that fishermen from the Asur Sea would not be able to reach Western Rennekka during the time periods that you have mentioned, nor would Asuran explorers be able to colonise the area in 1168. Additionally, Asuran cultures, religions and nations are not necessarily identical to their real-life equivalents, so I would highly recommend joining our Discord server if you have not done so already, in order to discuss how to best amend your application and establish your history in a way that fits nicely into Aeian canon.

(strengths/weaknesses): Little in the way of hard power; the influence of the city would come from it's financial sector and status as a tax haven. While it is a wealthy, profitable city, it's GDP pales in comparison to actual nations. It would likely adopt a neutral or meditative stance in international politics, though might be persuaded to join the CDN dependent on the actions of Myria.
If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?: GDP per capita could be reduced significantly if needed, further reducing the population would reduce the real GDP. Brenzhem was born from the aftermath of the fall of the Almannic Empire. Split into many different kingdoms, the region suffered from many different issues from war all the way to famine.

The Duchy of Brenzhem was born in 1656 and remained a minor power in the region. During this time, Brenzhem experienced a great rebirth of culture after that in the 1400s. Nobles, who could enjoy peace, were able to spend money on arts from around the world and also participate in a variety of culturally enriching events.

From here on, this is all suggested, I will talk to my Mascylla if they would like to work/fix this!
Brenzhem was originally absorbed into Mascylla during its unification and was part of the nation for around 200 years. It was a region with a variety of special permissions, such as the ability to have their own king and also it had high autonomy compared to other regions. Brenzhem's liberation always lingered in the thoughts of many and it eventually achieved independence in a short war that lasted between XXXX to XXXX. This gave Brenzhem the ability to be a free nation once again, something it had lost many years prior.

Into the modern era, Brenzhem has remained quiet existing on its own as a free state and one that mostly stayed outside of foreign affairs. Today, the nation is most famous for its traveling and its many natural beauties that really highlight the nation.

Geography and climate of nation:
Brenzhem is separated into three distinct regions climate-wise. The southernmost regions are quite pleasant thanks to the hills that protect it. It has a distinct difference between its four seasons and gets warm summers and in the winter has snowy and cold winters.

The central region of Brenzhem is cooler with shorter warm summers met with a long winter season that is noticeably colder than that in the southern regions of the country. This region is also much flatter and has mountains that run through the east on the border of Mascylla.

The north is much colder with the warmest summer days being at around only 21 degrees Celsius. Winters are very long and temperatures can drop extremely low. Snowstorms and even blizzards are not at all unusual and waters can see ice form in some regions. The Westensaar Mountains also are in the north, it has one of the largest glaciers in all of Asura known as "Alethone" Glacier.

How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses):
Clearly, Brenzhem is a minor power and is not going to at all be seen as a world power, nor would it be something to note on any world stage. It is small and almost irrelevant with the exception of its famous traveling and beauty throughout the country.

If asked to reduce the strength of your nation, how would you do so?:
The population would probably be dropped as well as the country's weather would be made harsher for more natural issues.

History
Nothing set in stone yet, but besides likely sharing a similar ancient history with Greece (city-states, somewhat later cradle of civilisation etc.) I will be looking to keep it separate and different as much as possible. Until modern times the peninsula was likely never united, at least not for very long or by its native peoples.

Government
I'm looking at it being a flawed federation, with a relatively weak central authority that has failed to significantly reform or decrease the powers of the states. Politically the country likely has a large amount of parties on the federal and state level, and usually only has grand coalitions able to govern.

Peoples and religion
The main group are Myrians, who are !Greek, and speak any variety of dialects as well as the standard vernacular, and if they're educated enough also the formal standard. Myrians are mostly Alydian (I'll need to look into Alydianism before confirming), with some Muridin and others possibly pagan or something else

Sifharo-Myrians and Majulo-Myrians are Myrians either originating in those continents, or having naturalised there. They speak their own dialects plus the standard, and are largely Muridin but also with significant minorities of Alydian and other.

Everything else is pretty much under the other label, for border-minorities and immigrant peoples, who likely share their mother language and religion.

Geography and climate of nation: Myria proper is likely of a Mediterranean climate, largely temperate but some arid areas, and is quite mountainous. Myria's territory in Sifhar is also mountainous and mostly mediterranean climate, but far more arid with some desertification in areas.
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Likely a middle power in Asura, with an emphasis on soft power. I'm unsure what regional organisations it'd be in, or who it'd be aligned with, so would be happy to chat with others in Asura to see where it would work best. As for weakness probably a similar situation to Italy's north-south divide, but more dynamic between various states as well as the mainland v. sifhar.

I am willing to accept this application, however I am slightly averse to the addition of the territory in Sifhar. If I can be sufficiently convinced that this area is integral to the nation and also serves a unique purpose I would also be willing to add this territory.

Geography and climate of nation: The central portion of Makovnia is temperate plains and forests. The northern parts of the country tend to be more sparsely populated, and is characterized by a colder, more unforgiving climate. The south is the most densely populated region, followed by the central and western sectors of Makovnia. Very similar to irl Russia.
How will your nation fit within the existing regional power structure? (strengths/weaknesses): Makovnia possess significant soft and hard power in no small part due to their extensive military, scientific achievements, diplomatic efforts, and economic influence. Makovnia would be considered, ideally, as a Great Power, with the potential to be an emerging superpower. Despite its relatively positive developments on the domestic front, Makovnia is still isolated within the international community. Hardly any of its major neighbors could be considered allies, and there is little trust as a result of various border disputes and perceived transgressions by Makovnia. Despite a clear administrative attempt to ease up on jingoism and militarism, there is still a major neoconservative presence that continues to push Makovnian foreign policy into conflict with its neighbors. The lack of new trade, economic investments, and diplomatic isolation have begun to take a toll on the recording breaking economic growth sustained from the late 80's until the early 2000's. Possessing a nuclear arsenal and the strongest military in the region, and one of the strongest in the world, Makovnia is no push over.
