Image
Matribhumi's Grade 10 students won Khyulpa's 'School of Vendriothos'

The 'School of Vendriothos' competition, organized by shipping company Khyulpa Line in memory of the 338 victims of the Hornet War (of which most were schoolchildren), has been won by Matribhumi High, an all-girls school from Ghan Pokhara, Second Tamuwan Hangate.

"Second Tamuwan Hangate has highest number of Hornet War victims. We know what it was like. Many of us lost people close to us; including our classmate Sangita Adhikari. We miss her everyday. Our win is dedicated to her, the other victims and their loved ones." Class captain Rubina Ghyabre said.

Over 160 Magarati schools (including branch schools in Almorea, Dragao do Mar and New Totzka) participated in the inter-school competition. Ayusha Pongi-Lama and Rubina Ghyabre in Group Debate, Ankita Koyohang in Solo Dance, Bidhika Raut in Football Juggling and the entire class in Short Drama came first to usher Matribhumi High as the winners of the competition.

Besides certificates and cash prize, the winners were also given the golden opportunity of a South Gael (Aruia-Ainslie-Roendavar) tour offered by Khyulpa Line. The girls stated that they were getting for their "exciting tour" that begins on Friday.

Live Blog: FedElec 19 Week 5
Author: Anaren Political Editor Arden Karandi

Welcome to Anaren's weekly federal election blog, which sums up the week's political news for this week. Here's what happened this week, with the oldest posts at the top:

The winners and losers: Electorate by Electorate
It’s Week Five and with all the talk of ACEGAD’s “broader base” strategy, it’s about time we look at which electorates would benefit and which would lose out from a victory or significant representation of particular parties. We crunched the numbers of new funding projects, the economic effects of various other policies as well as the delivery of services to work out who would benefit and who would lose depending on the party.

Electorate - Ahnited, ACEGAD, STP
  • Norlands - Winners, Winners, Steady
  • Dallama - Losers, Steady, Steady
  • Arlanah - Steady, Winners, Winners
  • Burnett - Winners, Losers, Losers
  • Manning - Steady, Winners, Losers
  • Wesland - Loserts, Steady, Increase
5/7/19 - 11:32am

Burnett and Manning in focus
This year there is nine divisions up for grabs in these two electorates. ACEGAD enjoys holding six of them, bolstered by outbound STP preferences. Outside of this informal coalition, there are two seats held in Burnett - one by an APC [although now Ahnited] candidate and the other by an independent. Burnett and Manning can be best decribed as bellwhether areas - it is largely why the election was called as a decisive ACEGAD victory in 2015.

This is not necessarily because of how many seats the party held, but rather the margins at which they are blue. As I sit there on the AI panel on Saturday, it will be those margins I’ll be watching closely. As for seats, the most likely to swing against the dominant ACEGAD-STP face is in Elwin - where controversial comments by the incumbent around a proposed dam project could see her ejected from what normally is considered a safe seat.

It appears that the parties will not be damaged in Manning outside of Elwin, yet ACEGAD face a strong Ahnited offense in Burnett which could ultimately mark the beginning of a heavy swing to Ahnited or end their chances of forming a majority.

Crucial to Ahnited’s cause is the seat of Hale, centred on Burnett’s capital. Jack Allaren holds the seat by 1.3% yet faces a rising star in the ACEGAD ranks - Olivia Hughes. If she wins, the party would be very impressed and their mandate in the electorate would be reaffirmed. Whilst there isn’t an extraorinary amount of seats on offer for the parties, the voting patterns of the two electorates provides reasonably accurate insights into wider national performance.

A good result for Ahnited could help them get across the line to form majority, whilst an average or bad result would mean loss or a wide coalition.
5/7/19 - 10:01am

How to vote on Saturday
This post will not tell you who to vote for bubt rather how you can go about doing it. Ainslie is unicameral, yet in a similar fashion to presidential republics and bicameral models - with at least two sheets of paper.

In this election you will receive two ballot papers - a white one for voting for a representative of an electorate, and a yellow one to elect a Prime Minister.

On the yellow paper:
There will be four candidates, regardless of which division you are in. You must write number one in the box next to your most preferred candidate and a number two next to the one you would secondmost prefer. You can number it from 1 to 4, but numbering 1 and 2 is the mininum for it to be considered formal.

On the white paper:
There should typically be between four and six candidates yet depending on the division it could be up to ten. You must number all boxes from 1 (being the most preferred) in descending order to your least preferred candidate.

If you have passed a PKT or are an Ahnslen citizen over the age of twenty one, you are eligible to vote. Make it formal - make it count.
4/7/19 - 4:22pm

The adverts we really didn’t need to see
In many electorates, particularly in Arlanah and Wesland, televisions and billboards have plastered the name of the Indenats and their candidates. We’ve receivedd several questions along the lines of how they are able to fund this obviously multi-million Ahnsen campaign. The answer is we don’t know - in accordance with election rules, no one really knows who is behind this sudden injection of funds into the party. With the Indenats’ name on it, the source of finance for the camapaign is concealed until a month after the election day.

For a relatively small party, it’s remarkable how much they have been able to fundraise to undertake this venture - and don’t expect them to stop until the campaign blackout comes into effect at Friday midday.
4/7/19 - 1:19pm

The signs on the night
I admit I’ve specualited a lot but in saying that this is the week before the election and I can assure you it will continue.

Saturday night marks the time I will have to fully reckon the appearence or lack thereof of my predictions. I’ve only been here for a couple of elections so I thought it might be wise to get some predictions from others in the Anaren offices far more knowledgable than myself. So, I asked them what they’ll be looking for on Saturday night in order to predict a particular outcome before it is finalised.
  • Keralin Seranaven - Wesland will tell us whether Ahnited will begin governing this year.
  • Argent Kerane - Ahnited will need to flip many seats in the south to compliment their swings in the north if they are to win.
  • Hannah Ranen - The early signs ACEGAD will want to see lie in Arlanah - swings there will reassure the party that the appeal to the entire nation could just pay off.
  • Thierry Montiere - Early swings in Norland polling places [which are typically from urban areas] will be the sign ACEGAD will need to see to maintain majority.
  • Theodore Narnen - Swings in Wesland, in a similar fashion to the electoral elections, are expected. Large Dallama swings could spell disaster for ACEGAD.

Watch out for these in the election coverage on Saturday night - these insights will likely prove accurate.
3/7/19 - 9:22am

Note: Did you know media such as Arendai are partially funded by the government? Although legislation prevents Arendai from being manipulated by the Government, there is still every possibility that this goodwill could change at short notice - without Ahnslens knowing. This is why independent media is so important. Here at Anaren we are committed to independent journalism, ensuring that Ahnslens get exactly what they expect - critical, intellectual analysis on issues that matter to them and on news that surrounds them. To support us, you can leave a donation - an act to support free and independent media such as Anaren.

Your support will go a long way.

With thanks,

Finance chief resigns after impeachment hearings postponed

ELLSBURGH (APA)- Treasury Secretary Walton Balliol resigned his position today, according to an official press release from the Treasury Department, ending a weeks-long controversy that had long threatened to topple Almorea's finance chief.

Balliol was targeted for impeachment by Federalists in the Chamber of Representatives after a court ruled that his usage of federal credit to borrow money for the Almorean government to spend, an action ordered by President Alasdair Hallowell in a May 28 executive order, was illegal.

Impeachment hearings, scheduled to begin on July 2, were repeatedly postponed by Federalist leadership in the hopes of quietly pushing Balliol out the door, according to several sources. Impeachment, while damaging to the Hallowell administration, could have involved a lengthy process that would not have produced the quick political victory of Balliol's resignation, according to an unnamed Federalist congressman.

Balliol's departure, although expected, leaves the Treasury Department without a permanent leader at a time when sound fiscal policy might produce good results for the Almorean economy.

According to sources within Carldon Hall, President Hallowell is considering two of his congressional allies, Rep. Mark Parde (A-Adashawnee) and Rep. Leonor Tanagra (A-Gray Hills), as possible permanent replacements for Balliol. The vacant position, currently filled on an acting basis by Balliol's deputy, does not require congressional approval.

Deputy President hospitalized with heart problem

BIRCHBURN (APA)- Deputy President Michael Jardine, 77, was hospitalized today and diagnosed with tachycardia after fainting on his family estate, according to Carldon Hall.

Jardine, the next in line to the presidency, was visiting his grandchildren near Birchburn, in southern Baranor province, when he complained of feeling dizzy and then stumbled and fell. Tachycardia is a condition of the heart that causes an irregular, rapid heartbeat.

The Deputy President was rushed by a security detail to St. Samson Hospital in Birchburn, where he remains "unwell but recuperating", according to a press release.

Jardine's age and health have been the subject of concern since the Hallowell administration took office in 2017. He is frequently out of the public eye and has been captured on video shaking and sweating in the past, most notably during a state visit to Dragao do Mar in October 2018. Owing to these concerns, Carldon Hall has released extensive medical histories of the Deputy President.

Jardine has not signed a declaration of incapacity, according to sources. This declaration would have exempted him temporarily from the presidential line of succession and replaced him with Sen. John Fitzlane (F-Frasyrland), the presiding officer of the Senate, until Jardine's recovery. Such a mechanism was last used in 2012, when Jardine's predecessor, Richard Hollister, underwent anesthesia during a colonoscopy.

SNPC'S APLIN STRAIT EXPLORATION

by Alexandra Eleonora, 13 July 2019

Image

OSTIUM - The conquest of oil never ends. The previous statement is proven by the recent press release from the state’s oil company, SNPC (Scantarbia National Petroleum Company). The company’s CEO, Merlin Agustina, said in a press meeting this Friday (12/07), that the exploration team managed to confirm a previously hypothetical petroleum reserve in international waters of Aplin strait. The team uses a drillship provided by Scantarbian Navy Auxiliaries, SNAS Deep Blue, to perform drilling tests in order to confirm the existence of a petroleum site in the location.

The exploration process itself has been ongoing for 5 months before finally, they not only confirmed the existence of petroleum but also calculated that the petroleum available for extraction in this untapped reserve ranges from 25 billion barrels on its lower estimate to 30 billion barrels on its high-end. This field, named Aplin Strait oilfield, is on SNPC’s top priority for extraction due to its substantial quantity.

Even if Scantarbia’s energy generation doesn’t rely much on fossil fuels, with it only consisting 2% of Scantarbia’s sources of energy, which the majority of it is fulfilled using nuclear energy and the majority of the population currently using electric vehicles, SNPC sees a lot of potential to exploit this newly found petroleum reserve and sell it to other countries which are still depending on oil for their energy generation.

The only problem that needs to be tackled right now is the fact that this reserve sits on international waters and near the territories of Scantarbia’s nearest neighbor, Charbagnia. This acts as a potential flashpoint as soon as Charbagnia government became aware of the petroleum reserve sitting near their country.

In the end, may the exploration and the subsequent extraction lead to a more prosperous Scantarbia and hopefully it doesn’t spark any conflicts in the region.

SIX MONTHS OF BRAHURER - NO END TO STAGNATION IN SIGHT

JULY 15 2019 | Guest Columnist Dr. Dehren Si Braant | Porohare, Ostehaar

It has been roughly six months since former Prime Minister Rikard Vulf Dorias unexpectedly resigned from office, boosting his then-deputy's career in an instant. The Labor Party was quick to approach President Den-Heyes with a stable coalition under Elena Brahurer's rule, with a single downside - she would serve as Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs simultaneously. That was a hard one to justify, but Den-Heyes was somehow persuaded. Was it a threat of Unleashed Thuzbekistan looming across the sea? Was it the recent blow in a generally unsuccessful intervention in Orsandia (we won, but why did it even come to it)? They sold "stability" and he liked the product. The Opposition was furious. Instead of snap-elections, Osters suddenly got two more years of the brand Dorias' Government - Without the Dorias.

"They didn't stop to think the entire process through or set up some kind of a transition mechanism," said a member of the Labor Party's general committee, on the party's internal discussions of February-March 2019. "[Dorias] just got up one day and informed the [party] leadership that they have three weeks to solve the issue." That same day he announced his intentions publicly and, in practice, imposed a 21-day ultimatum on the coalition to find an interim Prime Minister. Brahurer was the only one among the party seniors that already had a working office, and her good relations with Dorias and his staff certainly helped. "He gave her the government," a now-former Labor party senior reportedly said in closed party discussions during recent months.

Labor Party leaders deny the accusations. "Internal policy disputes within party mechanisms do not affect government activity." The reader would undoubtedly be glad to learn that I actually checked this statement, and it is false. According to sources from within the Labor Party, the February-March series of discussions was so urgent and resource-consuming, that it was given it own title - Gemstone. One goal was, for example, to approve a "baseline agenda" for various political activities. Usually this is done during the weeks or months prior to the elections, but this time the party was not prepared. "Brahurer and many in her staff had to put hours of work into that instead of doing actual government work," one source told FNN. "Important cabinet meetings were delayed because of that."

How important? Two meetings on Thuzbekistan - one on foreign cooperation and one on sanctions status - were postponed from February 7th to April 2nd and then to May 26th because Brahurer had to attend party meetings. A discussion on OCES' planned businesses in Menna Shuli was reportedly postponed four times between March and June because of "requests by the members' offices". Two visits by diplomats from Vancouvia and Polar Svalbard were simply cancelled due to "participants' time constraints"... and guess who was the participants. All were delayed due to "party mechanisms". At this point, I would like remind the reader again that Prime Minister Brahurer is still also Minister Brahurer, who had neglected Ostehaar's Foreign Affairs in recent months. I could not get a response from the Prime Minister's Office on the issue.

I recently spoke with Head of Opposition and New Ostehaar party leader, Mikahel Si Ardner, who lost to Dorias in the 2017 elections and hoped to replace him this year. Si Ardner's attitude towards the nuclear industry and the military got all the headlines in that interview - and rightfully so - but his remarks on the interim government were more insightful. "After spending half-a-year setting her office up, Brahurer is going to spend the next six months on budget discussions until it's approved around March," Si Ardner assessed. Then it's one year to elections, and we all know what that means. "She has to secure and solidify her position in the party and in the administration if she wants any chance of running in 2021," Si Ardner added, "so it's bureaucracy before leadership for the time being."

What About Lovsk? In three months my last column here, Two Years in Lovsk: Opportunities & Trouble, will be celebrating its second birthday. I should probably start working on a Four Years in Lovsk: No More Opportunities & Only Trouble piece. 6 Osters, 26 Oster soldiers, and 45 Lovskians were killed in terrorist attacks across the island since January 2019 - The highest numbers since 2015. 32 Lovskians were arrested for links to terror cells in the past three months alone. Human Rights groups are still denied access to many confrontation zones for security reasons, and many activists are delayed in border crossings and airports if they state their intention to visit the place. Rumor has is that several high-ranking DFO chiefs planned to resign in protest of the government's indecision over Lovsk, but eventually backed down after Dorias' resignation in fear of shaking the system too much.

Looking forward, the interim Government has a few upcoming "tests":

Thuzbekistan. The Orsandian War taught us that the good-old Oster-Thuzbek balance no longer exists. A reality of a missile-developing Thuzbek enemy, pressed by sanctions and economic instability to the wall, is an urgent matter that should be at the highest priority. Brahurer has to jump back to her Foreign Affairs suit and remind the Western Isles that Thuzbekistan is not an Oster problem. Alternatively, she can order an aerial assault on Thuzbek missile sites and R&D facilities. Either way - Now is the time to decide on a course of action.

Charbagnia. June saw the fulfillment of two very different forms of government on that war-torn island - Vancouvian Agnion and French Charbagnia. In a way, the debate on the fate of the "Oster Zone" represents a more important debate on the nature of Ostehaar's use of force in the region. DFO spokesperson Ela Rehner stated in April that the military intended to maintain its infrastructure in Charbagnia, and joint Oster-Vancouvian military tests reportedly took place in May near the border between the two zones. In June, however, a closed government-sponsored conference for Oster industrialists and businessmen reportedly raised an issue of "Investments in a Vancouvian- or Noronnican- Controlled Oster Zone", and OCES engineers stationed in Charbagnia were informed that their contracts might not be extended "in the case of a territorial exchange."

The Land Deal Case. Attorney General Mark Vohlrin is expected to present his final report on the matter in September, 20 months after the beginning of one of the largest investigations into government activities in recent decades. Leading figures in the current government might find themselves under charges.

Brahurer's term as Prime Minister began in sin, stagnated for half-a-year, and its continuation threatens to destabilize the nation. Brahurer would do Ostehaar a great service if she would step down and run as a candidate for Prime Minister.

Live Blog: Election Night 2019
Authors: Anaren Political Editor Arden Karandi and Anaren Political Reporter Jemma Anande

Welcome back to the special election night live blog, which will sum up all the major events of the night. The oldest posts are at the top, the newest at the bottom:

Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Anaren’s election coverage! Tonight we’ll learn whether a notable shift in ACEGAD rhetoric has paid off for the party, we’ll see if Ahnited are as established in the minds of the voters as they seem and whether an arry of marginal incumbents hold their seats. It’s six o clock in the evening here in Arnton and that means polls have closed across Wesland, Burnett and Manning. Arlanah, Dallama and Norlands all have another hour to vote, so if you haven’t voted - go and vote.
13/07/19 6:00pm

The tide begins
Early results have been coming out of the eastern electorates including Manning, Burnett and Wesland. Many of the votes out of Manning and Burnett are from small rural polling places, whilst the Wesland reports come from a selection of urban seats amongst other rural polling places. There’s a larger than average swing in all these electorates against ACEGAD, yet this will likely be moderated depending on how well Ahnited performs in urban areas (which would reduce ACEGAD’s primary vote). Even at this early stage, about an hour into polling we are ready to call a few seats - Bracewell and Malan both convincingly look like they will be heading to ACEGAD. It will take a lot for Ahnited to claw these back - Elwin and Miniby remain in the balance, with Defence Minister Patrick Carboni looking far more comfortable than Katrina Eveneau in Elwin. We’re predicting no changes to ACEGAD’s standing in the electorate. Heavy swings in Wesland - above average even - is not a comforting sight to the centre-right party.
13/07/19 7:12pm

The CRC are gone
The longstanding conservative party now for the first time in a century have no representation in the Parlai - Negarin’s fight in Henden, centred on Highland Ridge, looks all but dead now as former judge Kentarre’s primary vote is surging both in rural polling places and in the town proper. ACEGAD and STP step back, the chances for the popular independent look incredibly good. We’re also ready to call a hold both for Thomas Wilton in Gosren and Edward Chisholm in Mundaran. Wilton now safely returned back to the Parlai, will now be looking west to see how his party performs in their weaker seats.
13/07/19 8:01pm

Western results mixed, STP face crushing loss in Manning
It’s looking good - albeit not as good as it could be in Arlanah, Dallama and Norlands for ACEGAD. Their strategy has caused collapses in the primary vote in Wesland despite only at risk of losing a hand full of seats. Gifford is looking likely to be Prime Minister at a primary vote of 38%, which will be more than enough when considering the typical flow of STP preferences 75/15 towards ACEGAD. Their result is also looking a lot more reassuring in her home electorate, likely enough to hold of Ahnited in the electorate. It’s not looking so good for the STP in Manning though, with the party likely to lose Elwin to the Ahnited party which could potentially be attributed to the controversy in the seat surrounding a new dam.
13/07/19 8:15pm

Drennan concedes defeat although seats not finalised
Whilst their parliamentary result does not seem incredibly clear, it is reasonable to say that Ahnited are likely not to be able to have their preferred choice in the executive. Levi Drennan held a press conference about ten minutes ago conceding defeat, congratulating Eleane Gifford and her party on their re-election despite facing challengers on multiple fronts.

“I must commend Ms Gifford, she has ran a good campaign and one that has really resonated with the constituency. I stand here with an invitation for her to negotiate with our party, regardless of how we end up performing parliamentarily so we can continue the bipartisan approach that has delivered and will deliver results for our great nation.”
14/07/19 12:40am

Gifford declares victory
“We’ve done it.”, the second woman in Ahnslen history to become Prime Minister declares to a room full of party faithful. Ahnited’s Drennan conceded defeat at the executive level about fifteen minutes ago after calling Judicial-General Shirazi and PM-elect Gifford. Whilst heavy losses in the east and modest gains in the west mean that many seats remain in the balance, the vote for PM is significantly clearer.

“Mr Drennan called me earlier this morning, conceding defeat in this election. First of all, I would like to thank him and his party for what they have been doing over the past few months - whilst I do not agree entirely with their platform, I do believe they have run a compelling campaign which has reminded us of the pressing need to consistently deliver for the Ahnslen people.

It is that delivery that has won us this election - we are a proven party with an established agenda and our platform will form majority”.

After that, she thanked family and friends alongside several party officials including Kenzai who was at the function.

It’s been a bittersweet night for all the parties - all the parties, besides Ahnited, have suffered losses tonight. Ahnited have failed in their ambitious goal to put their man up at the highest level, but can rest in the fact they will have a significant voice for at least the next four years. Now, all the parties will be waiting over the next few days to see just who exactly will make up the Parlai and if there will be a majority. As far as a nationwide swing is concerned, it appears that ACEGAD will experience a 4-8% swing against them, likely giving them a slim albeit comfortable majority.

And now all the pundits can go to to bed, including me - man I’m tired.

Good night.

Keep up to date with all the election news, resuming tomorrow morning across social media platforms and on our website.

Almorea seeks to revive trade talks with Athara Magarat

Image
President Alasdair Hallowell (left) and Almorean trade representative Luis Patrick (right) at a news conference in Seavale, Baranor province, on July 17, 2019

SEAVALE- The Department of Trade today announced that Almorea will revive trade talks with the Athara Magarati Federation of Hangates, reopening negotiations that fell apart in December 2018 during tensions over the International District.

Speaking at the biannual convention of the National Exporters' Council in Seavale, trade representative Luis Patrick unveiled the government's plans after an introduction by President Alasdair Hallowell. Trade Secretary Donald Hauke, the official who will take charge of trade negotiations, is currently on sick leave.

The Almorean-Athara Magarati Reciprocal Trade Agreement (AMRETA) was first negotiated in November 2018. A visit to the Magarati capital of New Libang by the President, scheduled to take place in January of this year, was quietly cancelled after a crisis erupted in late 2018 over the Magarati naval presence in the Gatadpatigan Sea.

The draft of AMRETA prohibits either Almorea or Athara Magarat from levying import duties on the other. Almorean exports of petroleum, and Magarati exports of paper, wood pulp, and automobiles, are specifically mentioned.

The deal also allows the Almorean Navy to once again purchase Thunderbolt anti-ship missiles in large quantities. This process was halted in early 2019, leaving only three of the Navy's eight Ozymandias-class destroyers equipped with the missiles.

Mr. Patrick affirmed that a revisited AMRETA would also pave the way for Almorean membership in the Cooperative Union. Almorea's ally and ALDRATO partner, Dragao do Mar, is a member of the organization, which also includes Athara Magarat.

The Joint Commerce Committee, a bipartisan group in Congress, welcomed the new negotiations in a statement on social media, while cautioning that "Almorean participation in the CU must be carefully studied by Congress and the public." The organization has long been a bone of contention between the Hallowell administration and the opposition Federal Party.

Mr. Patrick said that trade negotiations will open "as soon as possible", but did not provide a specific timetable.

Senior's outburst disturbs lull in Cosian proceedings

Last Tuesday, all eyes were on Abraham Defoe, a retired electrician, as he voiced his frustrations and waved his walking stick against the offending cloud. Beachgoers attempted to restrain the 103-year-old as he continued to unleash his rage on the floating mass above. The incident was believed to have stemmed from the cloud blocking the Sun as Defoe was soaking in its midday rays.

Grampapa always got a little cranky when things don't go his way, but this is the first time I've seen him this furious.

"He was happily minding his own business before the cloud arrived," said Maggie, Defoe's granddaughter. A few hours before the outburst, the centenarian was planning to spend his entire day at the beach with his family for company. "When it reached our spot, Grampapa politely asked the cloud to move away. The cloud didn't budge, and I think Grampapa felt he was being disrespected."

She added, "Grampapa always got a little cranky when things don't go his way, but this is the first time I've seen him this furious."

The cloud that drew Abraham Defoe's ire.

Long after he was hauled off the beach, Defoe became the talk of the town, with footage of the outburst spreading like wildfire across Cosian social media. The footage has largely been met with amusement by many of Cosie's netizens; the line "Ye na hot sh*t, rudeboy!" has been quoted hundreds of times over the past week, and 'Papa Hot' himself has been enshrined by internet jokesters in various memes.

Not everyone found humour in Defoe's tirade; the Cosian Centenarian Society (CCS) have spoken out against the Cosian public making fun of one of their own. "We are ashamed to see our fellow Cosians failing to support us in our time of need," said Maude Williams, spokesperson for the CCS. "Why could our youth not step in and defend their elder against that troublemaker? Why did they instead see fit to laugh and mock a poor old man at his expense?"

Some journalists lamented on the outburst's popularity, owing its rise to the lack of newsworthy events elsewhere on the Layman Island. "It feels like this has become the biggest headline of the year," said journalist Juan Martin Gutierrez. "A simple rant like this should never have been front page news. What are we to do, though, when nothing else this past year has been worth reporting?"

Said outlook has been shared by members of the National Assembly; opposition members yesterday used the footage as fuel to criticise the government's lack of progress and publicity. "The fact that this old man is getting more coverage than us speaks to the sorry state of our island's governance!" said Rep. Alton Woolward in an impassioned opening speech. "It's a disgrace to see Giulian and his cronies stand idly by while they let this fool's lips run loose! Why, if our party was the one in charge, we'd be making headlines every day!"

At press time, Defoe is staying at a local medical facility, where his condition is critical but stable.

Despite the increasingly hot temperatures, reaching almost 100°F, hundreds of parishes participated in the "Pro-Life Procession Across San Jimenez" to raise awareness of "the cruel evil and moral absence of abortion", according to Father Joseph Patrick, a participant in the procession. The procession was organized by the Archdiocese of Del Agua and was funded by parishes across the archdiocese as well as private donors. Abortion has always been illegal in the country and the Aguanist government of San Jimenez has passed extensive legislation to ensure that pro-life policies remain in place for the protection of the unborn. Minority parties in the country have opposed the pro-life coalition of the Guadalupana party and the Protestant Delegation to obtain the right of abortion for Jimeneans in the country. Yet, all effort to legalize abortion by the minority parties have failed and have never made it on a public voting ballot in federal elections.

Roughly 3,000 people organized in Del Agua early this morning around 5:00 am and began their march to Gran Teran that ended around 12:30 am tonight. Countless parishes opened their doors to the procession and some groups joined along the way. The Jimenean Cardinal Anthony Thaddeus blessed the crowd as they left Del Agua, the seat of the Del Aguan Archdiocese. A great number of Confederates, members of the legislature, attended the procession.

Although illegal in San Jimenez, Jimenean Catholics, Protestants, and other citizens have begun participating and advocating for the end of abortion throughout the Western Isles. The Jimenean Catholic Church has urged the faithful to organize and speak out against the "evil" of abortion. Lucas Canone, Hearn of the Monarchy, has stated his unwavering support for the pro-life movement and that he will continue working with foreign nations to accomplish further restrictions of abortion throughout the region. Cardinal Antonio Thaddeus quoted Pope Francis as the crowd was preparing to be on its way throughout the country saying, "abortion suppresses innocent and helpless life in its blossoming." Many pro-choice organizations are preparing countermarches to take place some time near the end of the week. "We pray that we may be the voice of the unborn child for the Western Isles", said Father Joseph Patrick.

The Royal Cryer

Maximus Wolf Claims Nhoor Throne

Prince Maximus, twin brother to King Leon III has claimed that he is the rightful heir to the throne of Nhoor after he converted to Duvactism a year ago and visiting the First Duvactist Temple built by King Maximus Wolf IV for his wife.

This is the claim he lays, due to his great great grandmother being a princess of the Nhoor royal family.
Maximus finally solidified his statement in an interview,
"By right of my great great grandmother, Elerhī of Nhoor, I am the rightful heir to the throne, I do hope the people of Nhoor will support my claim so that a great line doesn't fall into obscurity, I am willing to carry on this tradition, I am Maximus Wolf VI, heir to Nhoor and Prince of Havalland."

The question now is if the people of Nhoor will except a Havallish prince as their king, perhaps this will be answered.
Those who can remember Queen Elerhī and King Maximus Wolf IV remember them as the most successful and loving couple in the Havallish royal family.

A Royal Arrangement

King Leon III has arranged a deal with Gabriel Spence, owner of Corindi Southern, a major mining firm based in Corindia.
Not just any deal, Gabriel has offered his daughter's hand in marriage.
In return Corindi Southern can drill for oil on the small oil rich island in the north west of Havallish territory.

Some people have shown distaste about letting a foreign company drill on Havallish soil, some say the king should marry a royal not a businessman's daughter.
This will undoubtedly cause other monarchs to disapprove as well.

The wedding will be held on July 30th to mark the end of the summer and transition into fall.

King Lorenzo in Roendavar for state visit. Monarch returns tomorrow

Image
King Lorenzo of Dragão do Mar visiting monuments in Dociara.

King Lorenzo Santiago of Dragão do Mar arrieved in July 21st in Dociara, Roendavar, for a state visit. Accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pedro Cardoso, and Minister for Foreign Trade Sérgio Gado, the visit is meant to enhance the potential for economic and political cooperation between the kingdoms of Dragão do Mar and Roendavar.

The visit is a efford to the deepening of political, economic, social and cultural relations between both kingdoms. With a remarkable economic grow in the first semester of 2019, Dragão do Mar continues seeking out new markets and developing close relations with more countries in the Western Isles, and even through they are territorialy distant, both coutries have much in common and think alike on many issues. Due to this, they have potential to become key political partners. Furthermore, it is presumed that the decision of the Marian monarch to visit the country is probably motivated by the recent problems faced by the Roendavarian government, as missing cases that lead to the declaration of state of emergency in the nation.

In July 21
The state visit began in the morning in Dociara, the Roendavarian capital, where King Ivan I Davarius Avarești and the Roendavarian Royal Family received the King Lorenzo at Va'reithani vi aaraganiath, the official residence of the Roendavarian monarch. A welcome ceremony was executed, in which King Lorenzo planted a tree in the garden of the residence. At 12:00 pm, in a state banquet with the presence of the Roendavarian royals, King Ivan I and King Lorenzo delivered short speeches.

The rest of the afternoon was destinated to conversations between the kings Lorenzo and Ivan. According to the official schedule of the state visit, the main subjects of their meeting were Marian-Roendavarian commerce and relations, environment preservation, scientific development and preservation of historic patrimony.

In July 22
In the Monday, King Lorenzo visited historic and cultural landmarks in Dociara, as the municipal theater and a statue that honours the victims of the War of the Mandrake. At the Marian embassy in Dociara, King Lorenzo held a reception for Marian residents in Roendavar, where the monarch greeted the guests and discussed about various subjects, as their experience of living and working in Roendavar.

Later, the king of Dragão do Mar visited the Royal University of Roendavar, one of the best higher education intitutions in the Western Isles. There, he met with the Duke (Eiras) of Dociara, Aron Theiron, and the Overseer (Ouros) of Dociara, Marchioness Bruncuof, to talk about tourism, education and public transport, some of the most reamarkable aspects of Roendavar. At 10:00 pm King Lorenzo boarded in the Marian Royal Plane and arriaved in Vladivești.

In July 23
Today, July 23, at the city of Vladivești, the capital of the state of Andavar, Lorenzo met with the monarch and to the President of Andavar in the morning.

At the evening, King Lorenzo and the two Marian Ministers in the state visit had a conversation with businessmen from all the four states of Roendavar. It is imagined that the creation of economic and scientific accords were the main subjects brought to the discussions, as mainly representatives of pharmacelticals and electronics companies were invited to the meeting. Also representatives of caviar and olive industries were invited to the talks, thing thay may indicate an intention to firm a deal over the trade of food products between both countries.

At 11:00 pm, three hours from now, King Lorenzo will board in his flight back to Dragão do Mar, which is expected to arrieve in Fortaleza at 3:00 am.

Some minutes before, at 2:10 am, the pilot of the airplane of King Lorenzo of Dragão do Mar performed a emergency landing in Nova Lantea, Alteran Republics, after the plane's right engine got partially disabled in mid-flight.

At the early morning, the Marian Royal Plane, Dragão do Ar (Dragon of the Air), was getting close to the aerial territory of the Alteran Republics, when, after a big turbulence, the pilot José Correa noticed malfunction in the right engine, and realized that the vehicle wasn't capable to end the flight in Fortaleza as expected before.

Three hospitals were placed on standby to receive any casualties and the a police's helicopter was ready to transport injured passengers.

At 1:55 am the pilot was reportedly circling over the Mechi Sea to burn fuel before attempting to land. The airport Nova Lantea International was raised to its highest emergency state, and halted all takeoffs and landings ready for the arrival. At 2:10pm Dragão do Mar time, footage showed the plane touching down its wheels with a violent impact.

Nearly three weeks later, Matribhumi Girls still missing in Roendavar's Tillanoran Great Forest

Image
Matribhumi's Grade 10 students won Khyulpa's 'School of Vendriothos' and have gone missing in Roendavar's Tillanoran Great Forest

MARăI

18 students and one teacher of Matribhumi High, an all-girls school from Ghan Pokhara in Second Tamuwan Hangate, have been missing in Roendavar's Tillanoran Great Forest for more than two weeks. The families and friends of the girls have expressed outrage towards the Magarati and Roendavarian governments as well as the prestigious school which has branches in Almorea, Dragao do Mar and New Totzka.

The girls had gone on the Southern Gael (Aruia-Ainslie-Roendavar) tour after winning the 'School of Vendriothos' competition organized by shipping company Khyulpa Line in memory of the 338 victims of the Hornet War (of which most were schoolchildren).

The last cyber activities of the girls are from July 10th with their Surat (a social media network from Negarakita) pages full of posts about various landmarks in Marăi City. The posts before that mention their arrival in Roendavar, various exotic fauna of Ainslie (and a supposedly near death incident related to Southern firewasps) and meeting fashion designers in Aruia. The school administration and governments of both Athara Magarat and Roendavar have stated that the girls and their class-teacher had decided to go on a camping trip in Roendavar's renowned Tillanoran Great Forest that day and disappeared since then.

It is widely suspected that the disappearance of the Matribhumi girls and their class-teacher is related to the missing cases five months ago. On March 12th, 14 children (ranging from 8-9 years old) were reported missing at Marciera Elementary in Vamaroi District, Filciesta City. On March 19th, Roendavarian media announced that 19 more people had gone missing. Those included 5 children from Filciesta City, 4 adults from Marăi City, 6 from Eire City and 2 from Nacriethos Town near the Vladimir-Dociara International Airport.

Most of the Roendavarians and now many Magaratis believe that criminal organizations, secret cults, and even drug cartels are behind these disappearances. Some have also proposed that the governments of Roendavar and Athara Magarat are somehow responsible, citing their inaction on the disappearances despite having the technology and material to explore the forest. According to Roendavarian media, other mundane theories have surfaced with aliens and the supernatural as the focal point, however these are dismissed as mere fiction.

Thebe Kulung Hang flays sanctions against Thuzbekistan, wants to create more military forces and calls for greater cooperation between Eastern nations

Image
Thebe Kulung Hang is the ever-controversial coarse-mouthed leader of Khumbuwan

BOKHIM, HANGATE OF KHUMBUWAN

Thebe Kulung Hang of Khumbuwan today said that sanctions against Thuzbekistan by "Western hypocrites" were against universal norms and values of human rights. He commended nations such as Ainslie for refusing to bend to the will of the "Western upstarts who need to be taught lessons".

The ever-controversial Hang of Khumbuwan has, in the recent past, said that a "Central Canal immigration invasion" is ruining his state and that "the snobs of New Libang, Myagdi Island and Arun Valley let more than 300 Magaratis die and did nothing since their hangates were not affected". His government is also reportedly interested in buying an uninhabited island from any interested party in order to ship all the infected hornets there. "Since the center refuses to budge, we will do whatever it takes."

Thebe Kulung Hang then said in the same press conference that his government plans to raise new military branch in direct violation of the Magarati Arms Limitation Treaty (MALT). He argued that armed men were necessary to combat terrorist elements like SHOCK and criminal organizations like Hostel (who are responsible for trafficking Hacopare Iza women from Corindia and drugs from New Totzka in association with Sindicato Aristocrático). Opponents claim that Thebe Kulung Hang is a "wannabe caricature of dictators" who turns blind eye towards Khumbuwan Nation (a separatist group) and the notorious clan war the Lokshoms and the Yorongs.

When asked what the MSTO or New Libang would think of his statements, the Khumbuwani hang replied. "I don't care what the snobs in New Libang do. This is my hangate and people have elected me to do things instead of create unnecessary bureaucracy. Khumbuwan was not a signatory of this MALT thing. It was signed when we were under the feet of those snobs from Arun Valley who think they speak for us all. As for the Western upstarts, they can [bleep] themselves."

Thebe Kulung Hang also said that the Eastern nations need to cooperate more to create the balance of power in the Isles. "The ungrateful West has forgotten that it was the great Eastern nations like the hangates of the Khas-Kirat Empire, Xrevaro, Noronican Empire and others who brought civilization on their pirate-infested [bleep] shores. When the Wave peoples were still naked, we in Argus and Gael were playing with gunfire. Look at the backward monarchies in Miklania, Belle Ilse en Terre, Havalland and Austrovik-Germania and compare them with the enlightened monarchies of Roendavar and Verdon. The East will dominate the Isles once again. I really like what the Noronnicans have been doing in regards to their policy with the West. And I hope, we all great Eastern civilizations can work together so that some upstarts do not have their way."

Finally, he went back to the sanctions again. "Despite a strong global call, it is continuing. The voice of the international community must be heard. We call for respecting Thuzbekistan's sovereignty, the Thuzbek people's aspiration and ending the embargo. Sovereign equality is the fundamental basis of international relations. It is equal for all, big or small, rich or poor, and will remain so. International role without responsibility is not justifiable; so is the power without obligation. Justice should remain at the core of international behavior."

Congress appoints organized crime czar after shooting sprees

Image
Special Commissioner-designate Selaphiel Steele (L) speaks alongside Attorney General Dave Merenlaine (R) after the former's appointment on Saturday, July 27, 2019

ELLSBURGH- After a spree of mass gang-related shootings in Gray Hills province this week that left 193 people dead or injured, the congressional Joint Committee on Syndicate Crime today appointed Selaphiel Steele, the head of the national narcotics agency, as a wide-ranging "crime czar".

Mr. Steele, 39, will take the title of Special Commissioner for Organized Crime, effective August 1. According to a statement from the committee, Mr. Steele will enjoy special powers in his position, including the right to suspend habeas corpus for limited periods and the ability to take command of local police forces.

Mr. Steele will take charge of the over 1,000 federal marshals and narcotics and gun agents currently in Gray Hills. His appointment will be accompanied by the deployment of 150 soldiers to Ballavasach, the capital of the province, after a request was made to defense officials by Congress.

The previous week has seen a string of serious crimes in Gray Hills, spearheaded by the São Graçe crime family, which originated in the Totzkan Union. Since 2005, the mob has gained support within Almorea's community of migrant Totzkan workers, and has exercised political power through assassinations, kidnappings, and bombings.

On Tuesday, armed gunmen engaged in a street shootout in Trevada, a town near the border of the Totzkan state of Terra de Osho. 15 people, including women and children caught in the crossfire, were killed in the incident.

On Thursday, a bomb exploded in a nightclub in Ballavasach, killing and wounding 61. While an investigation is still ongoing, authorities believe that the bomb was planted by a faction of the São Graçe mob in retaliation for the gunfight in Trevada. Gray Hills governor Joshua Lourenco (A), who was narrowly re-elected in April, ranted on Twitter about the incident, proclaiming a "crusade of justice" against the perpetrators.

Further isolated incidents over the weekend have left a staggering 117 people dead or injured, including an armed confrontation at an open-air market in Valegovar.

The Justice Department has welcomed Congress' appointment of Mr. Steele. Attorney General Dave Merenlaine, in a press conference alongside the Special Commissioner-designate in Ellsburgh on Saturday, told reporters that "the full weight of federal authority will be backing this effort up, all the way down the line."

Mr. Merenlaine confirmed that the Hallowell administration will ask Congress for $30 million in fiscal year 2020-21 to build a 500-bed prison at Fort Howard in the troublesome Tolldovain district, in the north of Gray Hills.

Übermacht Steal Show at Lorwich Automative Inustry Convention 2019!
The 15th Annual Lorwhich Automative Industry Convention resulted in the new Übermacht S303 series luxury sedan catching the eyes of many of the guests at the convention, along with its coupe and station-wagon variants. Despite being not very different or outlandish compared with other Übermacht designs, the S303 series was the first line of cars within Austrovik-Germania that came with an electric motor as standard with all the models, with the lithium battery managing to reach ranges of up to 520km, or 323 miles.
Whilst the use of electric cars is becoming increasingly common, Übermacht is not very well-known when it comes to the use of electric motors, and being economical with mileage as a whole. The infamous Übermacht
R233 having a 9.2 miles a gallon ratio, back when it reached its height of prodocution in the 1990s. Indeed, the advent of a new, electric Übermacht car certainly stirs up the automobile market, particularly the luxury car manufacturers like Obey and Ulmattel.

Austrovik Police Force Storms Tower Block - Crackdown on Socialists?
Austrovik police stormed a 1960s tower block complex in the suburbs of Wilhelmsdorf during the early hours of this morning, after reportedly receiving word of "excessive drug use" with a large number of residents in the block.
Tear gas, rubber bullets and anger. That is what resulted in the three-hour long raid, which is becoming more and more bizarre as the details are slowly released into public hands. In fact, this "drug raid", appears to be another raid in a line of supposedly unrelated incidents which have been targeting majority-working-class areas and also openly socialist areas. What is also very unusual about the raid and many other like it is that no drugs were actually found in six out of the thirteen raids which have occured. And in the other seven, the drugs found were usually cannabis and pescription medicinal products. The raids also saw the arrest of many socialist party backers, including the arrest of the Schatten Außenminister (Shadow Foreign Minister) of the Austrovik Arbeiterpartei (AAp - Austrovik Labour Party), Hans Gruckenzein. The raids are also seemingly launched out of nowhere - with police given call times which don't add up with the arrival of the task force. For example, this specific raid in Wilhelmsdorf occured just two minutes after the local police department receieved a call, but in another raid in Hortendorf, the police took over four hours.
First Minister Frederick von Hersmann has made a single comment on the matter, saying:

'These raids are neither correlated, politically or economically targeted or government-backed. The Eine Duitsland Nationale Partei [One Germania National Party - EDNP] and its government applaud the work of the police in cracking down on drug use within Austrovik-Germania.'

We'll keep you updated as the story progresses!

High Council explosive row: The King vs. The Government

A war of words erupts in the High Council as a result of King Ivan's proposal to amend the laws that restrict involvement in the environment. Following repeated incidences of people getting lost in the forests due to unexplainable circumstances, the King has proposed to launch formal investigations into the matter, however, the High Council continously blocks the King's proposal with a frequent majority for no apparent reason.

The King, infuriated, spoke to the High Council in a televised incident, saying, "You're all idiots... people are getting lost and you're all sitting there concerned about whether or not birds are supposed to be Roendavarian citizens... f***ing idiots." Vastarosi President Lord Viktor said this upon the matter, "The High Council acts on its own discretion. The King's concern is misplaced and misjudged. I advise him to lower his temper."

The Roendavarian public has expressed concern over the High Concil's obvious disdain for the King's efforts in solving the problem. Many have speculated that the High Council knows more than it is letting on. It is also obvious that there is a growing rift in the Roendavarian government, and both the King and his allies are further being isolated in the government.

Dragão do Mar and Roendavar: King Lorenzo's State Visit

On July 21, the King of Dragão do Mar, King Lorenzo Santiago, arrived in Dociara for a state visit. According to a statement released by the Marian government, it was an effort to deepen political, economic, social, and cultural relations between the two kingdoms. After the welcome ceremony, King Lorenzo was invited to the Rose Room at the Va'reithani vi aaraganiath to discuss matters with King Ivan and the four presidents. Talks about commerce and the environment were well-received. Missile Stike in Aruia, Roendavar stands in support

On the evening of July 25, a missile struck the port area of Con Petro, a major city in Aruia. Reports have indicated that there were many casualties and injured, however, no exact number or report have been given up to this date. The Aruian government have started an investigation into this attack. King Ivan I Davarius has released a statement earlier, to which he said,

"The nation of Roendavar mourns alongside Aruia in this devastating attack. Such an attack, especially those that target civillians, are vile and cruel. Let it be known that violence is not always an option, and to those who stand to sow the seeds of chaos, are unjustified in their actions. Roendavar shall do everything and whatever we can to help the country of Aruia."

According to official reports, Roendavar has pledged to donate food, money, and clothes to the victims of the attack. Roendavar will also help in the funding of the repairing, rehabilitation, and the expansion of the port area in Con Petro. Lastly, the Roendavarian Navy will strengthen its patrols in the Torangese Sea and the Roendavarian Ministry of Investigation are willing to send agents to help with the investigations in the attack.

Matribhumi Girls pronounced missing in Tillianoran Great Forest

The latest in the ongoing cases of disappearances in Roendavar, which the government has now called the Tillanoran Incidents, 18 students and their teacher were finally declared missing after an extensive search by the police in the city of Marăi. The group arrived in Roendavar on July 9 and were last seen on July 10 exploring landmarks in Marăi City. At the same day, the group went out on a camping trip at one of the government approved camping sites in the Tillianoran Great Forest near Achielis Town. According to locals, they last saw the campsite around 10:48 P.M., after that, the campsite mysteriously vanished around 1:28 A.M. according to several witnesses.

The Roendavarian National Park Observation Institute had conducted a preliminary search into the area but they found no evidence to help the investigations. There were no traces of the camping site left. The Achielis Town Tourist Center found their tourist log book torn apart when workers came the next morning. When the RoNPOI suggested to conduct a deeper expedition, the national government stepped in.

King Ivan I Davarius had nothing to say on the matter. The only person who wished to comment on the recent case was Vastarosi President Lord Victor, who informed both the public and the Magarati Government that, "The Roendavarian Government is doing everything it can to put an end to this issue, however, we also advise the public to back off and let the government deal with the situation. We assure the Magarati government that we will give them the answers they need but we will not welcome any involvement from them."

The Tillianoran Incidents have caused a wave of backlash against the Roendavarian government. Several prominent Magarati politicians are now calling upon the international community to pressure Roendavar. Numerous influential people have also casted doubts on the Roendavarian government's inaction and failure to solve the problems.

THE 2019 ORNEIUSTHARI: A MEETING OF PROTACIST LEADERS
Va 2019 Orneiusthari: Il xeroni vi protacison alathron

Image
The Temple of Ranaria and Davaren, Acrositha, in Dociara

On the evening of July 28, 2018, the leaders of the three sects of the ancient religion of Protacism met at the Acrositha in Dociara City to discuss the future of the religion as well as the recent Tillanorai Incidents. They aim to create an understanding and agreement between the three sects regarding the plans for action by the religion as a whole, as well as to inquire on involvements in the recent disappearance cases.

Tillanorai President Lady Teodora presided over the meetings and also represented the Loraxinosi, the largest of the Cricenexinos (Protacist Cults). Among the attendees were the appointed leader of the Protacist Lathrimonos (Secular), Nicolai Grecon Ivaci, the current Ithoraugoros Theon Alvegrus Xelos of the Valaxinenos (Conservative), and thirteen leaders from different Cricenexinos, most notable of them was Cristof Orion, leader of the Frecuneroi, a cult worshipping the Fire God Frecun. According to the official list, 5 cults did not attend, and rumors circulate that there are 3 that are currently secret.

All three of the sects acknowledged that protacism play a heavy role in Roendavarian society and have sworn to uphold its pact of non-interference with government policy. However, as pointed out by the Ithoraugoros Theon, as Protacism continue to grow and might eventually become the majority in Roendavar, the religion should be more active. Therefore, all three sects agreed in providing more charitable works. However, not everyone agreed on an issue.

When the Tillanorai Incidents were questioned, all the leaders of the Cricenexinos opted out of a full investigation, with Cristof Orion stating that such an investigation would give the government a chance to persecute the Cricenexinos which operate independently. This immediately caused a rift in the meetings, with Lady Teodora advocating for the full investigation and audit of the Cricenexinos on behalf of the Loraxinosi Cristof Orion and the other cults declaring that such an action would further sow distrust in the already secretive Protacist cults.

The meetings will continue until July 30, to which the Feast of Forma would eventually start in the city of Constantiara. It was also agreed, for the first time in 6 centuries, all the leaders of Protacism will be present in a single festival a sign of unity and to boost trust between the people and the already growing strong religion of Protacism.

ON TERRORISM

by Alfred Alabaster, 28 July 2019

ARCTURUS - In the light of a devastating terror attack in Con Petros, Aruia, today (28/9), Scantarbian president, Nicetas Akylas addresses the media about the nation’s position in the issue from the government office in Arcturus. Here is a direct transcript which is taken from his speech earlier this morning:

“We, the people of Scantarbia, condemns the vile and inhumane attack on the innocent populace of Con Petros, Aruia. We also send our deepest condolences to the victims of the attack and we call for the perpetrator of this attack to be put into justice as soon as possible. We, Scantarbians will not tolerate any kinds of terrorism, any kind of attacks that is unjust and targets the innocent. We are also aware that in order to tackle terrorism there has to be cross-border cooperation, especially between law enforcement, in order to prevent any act of terrorism because it is a global issue. Terrorism is an actual threat to our everyday life. Scantarbian government also offers to send an investigation team to help with the investigation and offers our hand to help rebuild any damages due to the attack. We stand with the people of Aruia.”

The speech was broadcasted by local and international media attending the speech. But, despite his statement, the Scantarbian populace is not concerned by the recent attack and is confident with the capability of Scantarbian law enforcement in combating any acts of terror inside the nation. What the populace is interested in is instead on the Scantarbian space program. This is mostly due to the aggressive campaigns done by the government to promote space travel and exploration into the populace. Although to be working as a doctor is what most of the nation’s students want to be, working in the aerospace sector and IT ranks as the 2nd and 3rd most favored respectively.

Another issue Scantarbian people have their sights at is the drilling of oil in Aplin Strait oilfield that was only recently discovered. SNPC, the state’s national petroleum company, has begun extraction process since yesterday (27/9) with the arrival of the first oil drilling platform on the region, the Aplin Alpha. With more drilling going to commence in the upcoming months with the arrival of more and more oil platform, Scantarbian people began to wonder, “Is it worth it?” “What good it’ll be for the environment because even if we don’t use the oil, someone out there will, so at the end of the day, the damage to the environment will still be there.” As a society that is proud of their environmental achievements, the petroleum operation in Aplin Strait has been the flashpoint for debates between those who support it and those who don’t.

"I have resigned in favor of joining the AP-DUs active work in investigating the events. We have need been prepared for such an attack under my eye and it is just respectful that I resign in respect of the victims."

CHAOS AT THE FESTIVAL OF FORMA: RIOT OUT OF CONTROL
Valcrios'men va'Formaron: Thevichis arevi bendraai

CONSTANTIARA- Chaos erupts at the Festival of Forma in Constantiara city as the crowd was suddenly whipped into a violent frenzy, killing 18 and injuring over 267 people. Among those injured were Tillanorai President Lady Teodora, who was knocked unconscious, and Ithoraugoros Theon Alvegrus Xelos, who suffered a broken arm after being violently thrown from the stage by the ensuing crowd.

At around 3 P.M., crowds started to gather at the Port of Alecsandros in Constantiara for the annual Festival of Forma, also known in Roendavar as the Formaron. In attendance were all of the leaders of Protacism: Lady Teodora of the Loraxinosi, Nicolai Grecon Ivaci of the Lathrimonos, Ithoraugoros Theon Alvegrus Xelos, and all heads of the 18 Cricenexinos. As per tradition, King Ivan I was also in attendance, arriving at the festival at around 4 P.M..

During the Iraethiformus, the blessing of the sea, attendees near the stage where the religious leaders were seated began to complain of severe headaches. A few minutes later, people started to grow violent, lashing out and even attacking at those near them. Although the police were quick to respond, an estimated 500 people were now in a frenzied state, even using bricks ripped from the boardwalk as weapons. The stage was also stormed by the crowd and started attacking the religious leaders. Most of them were able to escape except for Lady Teodora and the Ithoraugoros. King Ivan I was also evacuated via a boat located near the pier.

After about an hour of riots, most of the original perpetuators were unconscious and were subsequently sent straight to hospitals. Once they have awoken, they don't recall their previous actions. Around 14 people were still conscious after the riots and they were escorted immediately by the Royal Guard. It is unclear where they were taken. Most of the injured bystanders were treated with first aid and sent back home while those severely injured were rushed to several hospitals in Constantiara. Both Lady Teodora and Ithoraugoros Theon Alvegrus Xelos were fine and were dischargd the same night.

Police are unsure what caused the sudden riots. According to the Roendavarian Ministry of Investigation, it can be attributed to alcohol or drug use. However, the ROMIN are unable to identify what kind of drug can induce a crowd of 500 people to severe bouts of violence. Drugs such as Ecstacy and PCP are legal in Roendavar in regulated amounts but "a crowd taking ecstacy at one is highly improbable" said Head Investigator Helena Afrodines Elenu. As such, the police could not pinpoint the real cause of the riot and could not hold anyone responsible.

Earlier this morning, King Ivan I vowed to go after those responsible for the bloody event, saying, "What happened in the Festival of Forma was an unnecessary violence and the Roendavarian Government will work day and night to figure out who is responsible for this.". All of the religious leaders were asked for comment but they all refused to. This has been one of the biggest riots in Roendavar for the past 3 decades and, if proven to be an attack, the first terrorist attack in 38 years.
