It occurred to me that:
A. It's not actually a god, but a demon running the enterprise to reap the souls of the people who would go there for their amusement.
B. It's not actually a supernatural entity at all. It's a voyeuristic and sadistic billionaire, who set it up to amuse himself.

Remember, I'm not saying they would IMMEDIATELY try it. They just have to try it ONCE at some point. It could be tomorrow, it could be 10 years from now when you're having a really bad day or get a little too curious. That's a long time temptations have to be kept at bay for some people...
