Hi All,
I've scorinated some results for my domestic league on NSFS3, but I can't seem to save the league in progress. Whenever I try, It comes up with "Error 1202". Does anyone have any advice to help with this?

I guess you could just use any old fighting sports scorinator? I doubt gladiatoral fights would have much more outcomes than "X defeats Y", maybe via submission or via death (which could be captured by the KO vs. point decision distinction of modern fighting sports).

That would presumably not include differences between kinds of gladiators, but I feel like those are best to just be RP'd as the types were typically matched up to be reasonably balanced anyway.

If it were me, I'd not have death as an outcome. Gladiatorial fights to the death were very rare even in ancient times (gladiators were expensive to train and maintain; killing them lost their owner their investment) and in the modern day there would be a global outcry. Were these gladiatorial fights to be properly regulated, though, with protective gear, blunted weapons and submission, knock-out or a points system as potential victory conditions, I could easily see it as something akin to HEMA - indeed, I might send a couple of competitors if you run it as an international event, Demorvian!

Now, although GE&T is the place for these kinds of ideas. NS Sports would be the easiest way to make sure everyone that's participating in Sports RP's can sign up for licenses in the "game". Would it be acceptable to make a post about it on NS Sports?

Yes.
NS Sports gets all sorts of RPs not just related to sports; for most of us, it's the only RP forum we frequent, so some people end up writing military/political storylines with barely any sports relevance.

Pro wrestling would absolutely go in NS Sports. There's been a number of attempts over the years, including one of my own, to start an international wrestling promotion but all have failed at the signup stage.

Pro wrestling's problem with this forum isn't the signups, it's the scorination - with the way scorinators produce results, your booker would look like Vince McMahon on a cocaine binge, changing his mind with long term storylines after every match. I just dont think it's a good fit, unfortunately, for the culture of results generation we've built in this forum. Much better as an exercise in WWE2K-whatever's Universe mode, or as a collaborative RP, than as an RP 'competition'.

There’s no hard and fast rule that you have to use a scorinator in this forum. That being said, with professional wrestling you’re in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t position since most people won’t sign up for an unscorinated event, which is probably why it never got off the ground.

There’s no hard and fast rule that you have to use a scorinator in this forum. That being said, with professional wrestling you’re in a damned if you do, damned if you don’t position since most people won’t sign up for an unscorinated event, which is probably why it never got off the ground.

With pro wrestling, you've either got to have a booker who picks winners and losers (and who everybody trusts) or those involved in a match have to be willing to agree who wins and loses.

From what I understand, only the runner-ups will proceed into the playoffs, where they'll be divided into 6 groups of 4. The winners from each of those groups will go to the main tournament, making it 24 group winners, 6 runner-ups/playoff group winners, and the 2 hosts.

From the WCC Constitution (in the OP of the World Cup Discussion Thread):

The conditions for entry into the Cup of Harmony are:
i) A nation must have signed up for the corresponding World Cup in the appropriate Signup Thread
ii) That nation must have failed to qualify for that World Cup, given the conditions set by the hosts.
iii) That nation must have posted at least one roleplay in the appropriate RP thread during the corresponding World Cup
iv) That nation must also have indicated a desire to play in the Cup of Harmony in response to a host invitation.

The fourth condition is understood as "the hosts can invite anybody they wish" as long as they need the other 3 conditions. In practice, it usually comes down to quality and frequency of RPs. A bunch of one-liner RP or just 1 really good RP (and no other RPs) probably won't get you into the CoH. RPing about half of the MDs in qualifying will almost always be enough to ensure an invite but nations regularly get invited with less than that. I'm pretty sure I only RPed 2 or 3 times with Saintland this cycle and still got an invite though I wasn’t sure whether or not it would happen or even whether I would have invited myself if I were the one making that decision.

You should probably ask your questions about the World Cup, BoF and Cup of Harmony in the World Cup Discussion Thread in the future since that usually gets more attention than this thread does.

There are NS Olympics, but they are not on a fixed schedule. It's a big job to host them, so they happen when someone feels like hosting it.

And on that note, there is a bid for the Winter Olympics being voted on by the Council right now. All things going well, signups should open in October.
