Happy Establishment Day, Cashar! Nationwide, the people of Cashar celebrate this special holiday of the founding and establishment of our nation and its corporatocracy. As per tradition, the Annual Establishment Day Mega-Parade marches through Protiva's clean streets in the downtown area tossing samples and advertising brochures to the cheering populace. It looks like retail chain, Getgo, has one of the most impressive floats this year sporting national colors green, silver, and gold as well as its own color of sunshine yellow and a giant balloon sporting the company's logo, a thumb's up.

The Cashari Cultural Center of Protiva hosts the releasing of the magpies for viewer pleasure. People are once again advised to wear Getgo-brand ponchos because it will get messy releasing so many beautiful national birds in one place! Heightened security in front of the Orioni embassy

DIEUDONNÉ, Afropa -- One Afropan man has been killed, and an Orionii and another Afropan wounded in a shooting incident at the Orioni embassy in Afropa's capital Dieudonné.

The two Afropans were working for a furniture firm and entered the embassy before the shooting, police say. Few details have been revealed and what sparked the shooting is unclear.

The three people were hospitalised, with one of the Afropans dying from bullet wounds, according to a statement. It said investigations were still in their "initial phases".

The shooting happened in a residential building used by the Orioni embassy, Afropan police say. Security forces have sealed off the embassy with the Orioni authorities evacuating staff.

Although Orioni authorities are not commenting on the incident and have imposed reporting restrictions, an unconfirmed source indicates ambassador Indira Lalita is unharmed. The heavily protected embassy is located in the Cuvette City neighbourhood, an affluent Christian part of Dieudonné.

Common & Poor’s praises Orioni

O'POLIS -- The credit rating agency Common & Poor’s has praised the Orioni for its "strong financial management". It did so in its half-yearly report. In an interview with the national newspaper The Sirius Correspondent, the Councillor of Treasury Lady Catherine Manzoni that "the report confirms that we are still doing very well when it comes to financial and budget management."

The Common & Poor’s report begins: “It is our view that Orioni upholds very strong financial management and a very favourable position when it comes to liquidity."

The ratings bureau reaffirmed Orioni’s AAA long term rating. As it is expected that the nation will continue in the same vein between now and the next national elections in 2019 the AAA rating is with "stable prospects."

Common & Poor’s believes that the stringent management of the nation's finances will enable the Orioni Government to make the investments that have been planned for the next two year, limit debts and maintain favourable liquidity.

The most important ratings factor remains unchanged from the previous report that was published in January 2017.

The Common & Poor rating is important as it defines the conditions under which the Orioni Government can lend money on the financial markets.

"This rating reassures the financial markets that there are few if any risks to investing in Orioni", Mrs Manzoni concludes.

Typhoon Notai smashes into Andro

ANDRO -- The worst typhoon in five years has slammed into the south-eastern city of Andro, hitting it with hurricane force winds and heavy rain.

Wind gusts reached a speed of 192km/h (119 mph). Trees have been uprooted along a nearly 20 km stretch of coastline, blocking roads, and cars have been left under water and roads flooded.

Metre-high waves crashed onto the shores and construction cranes swayed on skyscrapers in Andro.

Typhoon Notai caused more than 400 flights to be cancelled and most businesses were closed.

Many people have been injured, and the same typhoon, Notai, has killed three people in the neighbouring region of Bainbridge Islands.

The storm has since moved on to the western Azure Sea. A clear-up operation has begun after.

BULK CARRIER HIT BY ROGUE WAVE; CAPSIZES

The bulk carrier M/V Kirsten Møller sank with 28 crewmembers aboard: 18 Andallans, 6 Sunset Sea Islandians, 3 Kasharis and a Kualoan.

The 294-meter-long, 45-meter-wide vessel, with a capacity of 180,043DWT, was hit and capsized by a rogue wave yesterday.

The Kirsten Møller was enroute to Porto Libertad from Holtrup when she lost contact with ships nearby.

A Sunset Sea Islandian cargo vessel, the M/V Star Oceans, was 83.1 nautical miles away when her radar lost contact with the bulk carrier. Her captain, Akagi Masazumi, immediately set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance. Upon reaching the area a few hours later, the Kirsten Møller had disappeared.

5 survivors were picked up from the water: 2 Andallans, 3 Sunset Sea Islandians, and 1 Kualoan. All but Ariki Tepau, a Kualoan, had managed to launch the ship's freefall lifeboat. Tepau, who was on the bow at the time of the sinking, managed to climb on a floating plank of wood and made is way towards the lifeboat. The remaining crew members, unfortunately, did not manage to escape the sinking vessel in time.

According to Olov Ström, one of the two Andallans who survived, the Kirsten Møller was hit starboard by a 100-foot rogue wave causing the grain to shift and eventually knock her off-balance.

The Coast Guard has deployed several vessels to the area to find the remains of the vessel.

According to the Kirsten Møller's operator, Sunstar Shipping, the Kirsten Møller was in good condition at the time of departure from Holtrup. She is fairly new, completed July 2013. The sinking was the largest maritime disaster affecting the company.

President Johansen and Sunstar CEO Arnold Hagtvedt expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Hagtvedt also stated that the company would be paying Å10,000 to each of the families affected.

EOS to launch Antargic expedition

EOS ISLAND -- The first phase of an historic expedition to the Antargic is about to begin. Foreign councillor Pipkin, speaking at an EOS conference, announced the plans to establish an EOS Antargic Territory (EOSAT). The also detailed some of the industrial and infrastructure projects related to the Antargic strategy.

This first stage includes the launch of a yet unnamed icebreaker. What will new icebreaker look like? The EOSAT is to get one of the biggest, most capable polar research vessels in the world, a €200m icebreaker. The ship is likely to be 130m long and sport a helipad, cranes, onboard labs, and have the ability to deploy subs and other ocean survey and sampling gear.

DEITORR SCANDAL- "FAKE NEWS"

A string of online tabloid controversy hit main-stream last week. Leaked photos and false witness claims had apparently placed Primo of the Republic, Franso Deitorr at the heart of a sexual harassment claim involving a 14-year-old boy. The posts were tracked by an investigatory NGO, their findings claiming that the leaked story originated from "memes" and "roleplaying games" posted on the websites 4Chance and StateofNations.

StateofNations has been identified as an online game where players assume the role of made-up countries, solving various issues and posting "roleplay stories" on 3rd party forums. The false story had originated from the player with the username "Stados Unidos dei Americá", who had used Deitorr's photos and edited them into the identity of a fictional character "Kevan Spacer", a man of dubious sexual identity and ethics.

Previously dismissive of the articles, INBC correspondents managed to receive this from the Primo:

"These people obviously have too much time on their hands. Cavorting on online forums, misrepresenting real people for their personal amusement. For Taco's sake, they even have 'news channels' that parody real news!"

Deitorr has since apologised for taking Taco's name in vain.

At a yearly conference today in Warsaw, the King, Cosamar IV Eugastin, gave a short speech. The main topic was the agriculture industries in the Commonwealth, however, he saved an important message until the end. The full transcript is as follows-

"Hello, people of the Commonwealth, as you may know, the amount of wheat, potatoes, and greens that you grow really matters. That is why I am here to thank you for the 4% increase in food production since last spring. It really does help our ever-growing population if there is more food to go around. I hope for another increase for next year. In addition to that, I have made a deal with Plakura Korinsti for an increased agriculture budget. This will help build more farms and fields to help with our goal of feeding every citizen of the Commonwealth. I know, it will increase your taxes, but I'm sure that all of you love paying them. It's for your own good.
Anyway, I have also chosen a new Minister of Defense! Gordon Feyadall has served in our glorious army since he was 19, and he is one of, if not the most, loyal and determined person I have ever met. I'm sure he will be serving us for many more years to come. I'm sure...."

And with that, he departed off of the stand, and let the next person talk.
