Xeraph wrote:The Emperor, none too pleased with Princess Sybele, stood and greeted Cross. "Mr. Cross, a pleasure." Tossing the fancy embossed napkin on the table, he said, "Walk with me. I think we have mutual interests as far as trade is concerned. Although I do not normally involve myself in affairs of state at this level, I am most curious about the Goth-Skyan overall operations. What your parameters are, what the availability of your goods would be on an on-going basis, and so on. Just the basics at this point. The Empire's trade concerns are handled by my nephew, Earl Ricard de Veurey, who is more than capable of hammering out a simple, yet productive, agreement. The Empire has vast holdings in all of the energy sectors both on Terra and out in the Galaxy. And of course, Xeraphian curiosities and delicacies are abundant." Amalric stood, once again admiring the view of the magnicent city. "Mr. Cross, I am impressed. I do not often admit when I am, and I do not say it lightly. Despite the large number of nations in our region, just a handful of them are really notable. We in Xeraph have been aware of the Gholgothans for centuries, but never had much in the way of contact. If it is amenable to you and your leaders, I would like to begin to change that."
Jhane put a finger to her ear, listening for a few seconds. Approaching the Emperor and Cross, she said, "Excuse me, Sire. We have more dignitaries arriving at the airport."
"Dignitaries? From?"
"Unknown, Sire. They are apparently being welcomed here, so there is no threat."
"Keep Prince Ricala apprised. He will report any untoward actions." Turning to Mr. Cross, he smiled and said, "I'm looking forward to meeting your guests, sir. Perhaps it can be arranged?"
