Gods of Atherius: The Dawn Age [God|Fantasy|IC]

It was the dawn of a new era when the world was forged in the flames of Chaos, and tempered by the hands of Order. The Primordials beings of great power were born from both Order and Chaos. It was Order who gave life and willpower to these beings. Yet Chaos wished to sow the seeds of discord and whispered into the ears of the Primordials giving birth to strife and conflict. Thus the Great Cycle was born one that would see reality shatter and reform itself endlessly across the pages of space and time.

The Primordials would fight an epic battle for who would come to rule the Universe. Mundus or the mundane plane was born from this very war of creation and destruction. Entire planets were born, nebula and galaxies created from the constant destruction. Many beings would emerge from this time of ruin, the Fates, who weaved the destinies of Gods and mortals alike, the Furies who exacted punishment on those who broke their oaths. In the end, the most powerful Primordial Aetempas Brightlord of the Heavens would reign victorious over all of creation. Aetempas would shire seven children with the Earth-Mother Terra giving birth to the all-powerful Titans.

At first, the Titans served the Primordials well, but the Fates foretold that Aetempas would be overthrown by his firstborn son Terratus. Aetempas would send the Serephims servants of the Lord of the Heavens to chain the Titans and banish them to the depths of Maelstrom. In the end, Terratus defeated the Serephims and rallied the Titans declaring war on the Primordials for their betrayal. The world was reforged in this second Divine War; the Primordials would be driven to extinction, Terratus would forever chain his father to the Sky separating him from Terra forever.

Now the Titans would be the undisputed rulers of existence for millions of years to come, yet the Fates continued to weave their destinies of all beings and foretold new beings that would come to rule the cosmos. The gods born from the various love affairs of the Titans, or born by the cosmic forces were at first beneath the Titans but soon grew in power. Terratus like his father feared being overthrown and tried to banish the gods to Maelstrom, but in the end, the gods rebelled, and soon the First Titanomachy was born. The gods would end up defeating the Titans in yet another epic war of the divines. In a twist of irony Terratus along with the other Titans would be banished to Maelstrom for all of the eternity tormented for their betrayal.

Now the Aetherian Gods are the undisputed rulers of the Cosmos, they ruled victorious from their base of power on Mount Atherius for the entirety of the Mythic Age. Everything was well until the Phoenix Break occurred. Called the Tear in the East, for that, is where it is believed to have occurred. It was a shattering of the cosmos that reshaped reality itself. Within the pages of the Book of Time, the tales of the gods where rewritten. The son became the father, the mother became the daughter, east became west, time moved both forward and backward, and the stories of reality where broken and reassembled. After the Phoenix Break was complete, much had changed yet much remained the same.

Now the Mythic Age as drawn to a close. The gods have ruled Mundus for tens of thousands of years, epic tales have been written in the book of time. Tales of heroics, love, great battles, and the creation of new things and ideas. But all of that is over, nigh is the time of the Dawn Age. The crowning achievement of all this is this creation of mortal races. They are independent beings with a flicker of fire called souls. They are weak by themselves but there is something unique about them. They have the power to shape the very gods themselves, to strengthen or weaken them through the power of faith.

The sun had arisen in the east over the world of Terra. The divinity of the gods had shined across the breadth of the planet and they were the writers of this tale. A tale, of heroics, war, intrigue, pain, joy, love, hatred, the cries of childbirth and the silence of death the full spectrum of experiences and adventures across the breadth of the world. Through it, all the gods reigned has the rulers of this planet and the universe itself. As they made their moves to influence the world of Terra from north to south a sign of change had arisen written in the Book of Time itself of great things to come.

Númenya: Land of the Elves. A beautiful city of light and music nestled in the western forests of the Continent. The Elves are practitioners of the strange art known as magic, and crafters of art and jewelry. The beauty of their goods is great, their skill nearly rivaling that of the gods. Though small in number they are great in matters of wisdom. They worship no gods save for their ancestors and sing praises to the spirits for their guidance and protection. The Elves want for nothing in the comfort of their village hidden in the forests.
Population: 1,000

Khag Maldir: Land of the Dwarves. Rock-strewn homes, carved deep into the mountains of the Far South, the Dwarves of Khag Maldir are masters of smithing and industry. They mine precious metal ores, smithing wonders of technology in their forges, and workshops deep beneath the earth. Stout of heart and mind, the Dwarves pay homage to their gods of the forge and hearth, in the lands of their ancestors.
Population: 3,000

Kona sat on his throne of heavenly light. Far below the world beckoned and called for him. It had been 50,000 years since the end of the Mythic Age. Now was the time of the Dawn Age and so much had changed. Mortal races walked the breadth of the world, they were fragile beings. They prayed to the gods for guidance for miracles to survive the trials of life that beseeched them. Kona had long taken a hands-off approach when it came to mortals.

Now that would change. His godly eyes took in the entire world. He saw the Elves in their splendor the Dwarves in their mountains, roving tribes of humans following prey across the plains of the Continent. They were all children in need of guidance. Thus he took the form of a dragon and soared from the Mount Atherius to the world below.

He would first seek out the humans for they were the least advanced of the races. Then he would seek out the Dwarves and Elves. They needed his guidance if they were to survive the trials of this world of this arena. He would teach the humans many things so that they would grow to their full potential and transcend from their primitive state.

As he soared across the skies, flying over forests, grasslands, and deserts he thought of the other gods and wondered what they were up to. As King of the Gods, he rarely intervened in their affairs still he was interested in what they were planning perhaps he would message the other Aetherians to discuss matters of grave importance but that would have to wait for now he searched for mortals to make worshippers out of...

Action: Search for a large band of humans to encounter.

Bellicosus, Warmaster of the gods, slayer of titans and Lord of war and destruction, was bored. Terribly bored. The glories and wonders of Mount Atherius held little interest to him, for what seemed an eternity he had stormed around the sacred mount, affirming defences, raising new ethereal guardians and for what? He was a Warmaster without an enemy to face and a general without an army, the great war was over, all his battles were won and his sword had tasted the blood of his dread mother. Now what?

Granted he had celebrated, depleted the indepleatable stores of divine ale, sang the songs of victory loud and often until even his fiery throat was sore. But even that had grown tiresome, the other deities had realms and domains of their own but only on the battlefield was he truly content. He had no intention of returning to his sire’s fiery and terrible realm of destruction that he had served during the war, not yet. For it was there that the worst and greatest weapons of the titans were forged, tools of pure destruction where near infinite denizens toiled, but he had no need of them today.

No, he needed a war, a battle, a fight, anything! He cast his burning eyes to the mortal realm, the elves were too peaceful to be worth his attention, the dwarves too concerned with their crafts (though the Lord of War noted their potential usefulness in the wars to come), and rested upon the primitive and endlessly violent humans. Yes. They might prove an entertaining distraction. Summoning his blazing chariot, pulled by his black stallions Gladius and Scutum, the Warmaster descended from the great mountain sword in hand. He would hunt!

Action: Search for a warring or battling group of humans to sate his boredom.

Hyztlet sat, around it's followers go about their lives, it deliberated in its mind and thought, what could be a way to prove to have God powers once and for all, it then found the idea, he raised himself from the ground and the towering figure walked over to a group of his followers. He then said to them "Bring me a man, of yellow hair and black eyes" its followers nodded and immediately followed its instructions, soon enough they found a man who fitted the description Hyztlet provided.

They brought it a man by the name of Ah-Muzen-Cab they found wondering the planes alone. He was initially terrified by the appearance of the Freak God but later seeing his situation as hopeless decided to stop resisting and listen to what it had to say, and so Hyztlet started his speech

"Welcome mortal, as you have been chosen to become part of my new creation, I want to use your body to make a species of insects, with wings and hair and sting, but, the sting will not be used against humans as the species I intend to help your kind by giving you sweet nectar"

Kona

Far and wide the King of the Gods searches the world for a tribe of humans. He finds himself in the northern steppes of the Continent, lands of endless grass, as far as the eye can see. Great aurochs graze in the endless sea of grass. They gallop across the land in enormous herds shaking the very earth itself. Kona's keen godly eyes catch a band of humans hidden in the waving grasses of the earth. They cowered in fear at his mighty form they had never seen a dragon before and believed such beings to be the stuff of legend. They scatter before the presence of the King of the Gods.

Bellicosus

The god of war flew from mighty Mount Atherius to the world below. His chariot blazing across the skies, like a meteorite of destruction, the sky shuddered in response and became the color of crimson blood, and the skies bled in the presence of the God of War. Bellicosus would sense a battle between two tribes in the southern grasslands of the Continent. Men violently fighting for the privilege of hunting in these lands. Small in number these tribes fought ferociously, in the presence of the Lord of Destruction they grew even more bloodthirsty in their relentless and deathly quest for power and land.

Hyztlet

The man screamed in horror at the terrible sight of Hyztlet. Torn from his tribe and forced upon the God of Insects, he had never seen such a fearsome being before and believed he was in a nightmare. He ran for an escape to flee from the place of horror to return to his family and friends, he would not listen to the Lord Hyztlet and cared not for his godly intentions.

Hyztlet wasn't surprised by the man's behaviour after all, he was brought before the mighty Banished God, The Freak God, one not given a seat on Aetherius he would carve his path towards one, the God lifted itself of the ground and stretched it's wings of a Dragonfly and took to the skies where he saw the man running away from Hyztlet home in a large valley. He flew down before the man and tried to grab him with the four arms of a spider he possessed. Simultaneously he said to the man "Fear not, as I won't harm you"

Sociatus strapped on his shoes, he had created a nice hut for himself to lie in the past night, hoping to eventually run into another. A wanderer, a trader, a caravan, even a poor lost soul. Sociatus looked on the sun as it rose above the ground. A new day in a line of many. How greatful and boring had eternity become. Something needed to change, something had to be done so more people could exist and live together. Strapping on his sandals, and picking up his walking stick, Sociatus stamped out the campfire and started to walk through the woods to the south, in hopes of finding some others.

Action: Encounter a tribe or group of wanderers

Murr Quhalden, God of Monsters

The Lord of Monsters sat in his seat in the mountains, looking over the gods who found the humans and saw potential in them. He to saw the potential in them. They were very diverse in both color, stature and personality but they were not his people. No, his promise was still intact to the others of Malacar's children, the monsters born in the Maelstrom. He remembers the destruction of the Isle and the sense of loss that happened when he and the other gods he fought with killed Asep.

The thing is that he didn't know the names of the gods that he fought with. He can certainly remember the fight with the Primordial Serpent, the poison that burned through his veins and corpses of divine beings that he ate. They were varying sizes, some the sizes of moons and others just size of mortals. He remember that he fought out of Asep's stomach with the might of the blood he was given. The very scars, divine poison and corpses he absorbed changed him but he could only remember scant memories of the fight.

Yet he was one of three beings of Malacar, one who had given help to building the world before the monsters were slain. He remembers his brothers, Bellicosus and Hyztlet . He remembers his brother's grimace at him as he does nothing but fight and how he was sad about his little brother's anger against him and the other Gods of the Mountain. Despite the faintest memories and those that felt true to him, the promise that made him take the power over the monsters and sire those that he promised.

First he needs to find a way to tame the chaos that resides in all monsters. One thing that he favored the Dwemer and their master smiths. He knew that the short cave dwellers could help him fashion a tool needed for the task that he had in mind. He went to the King of the Dwarves in his human form in order to try and make a covenant to do this task for him.

Action: Visit Khag Maldir and strike a deal with the dwarves to help build him a tool in exchange for a boon from the Lord of Monsters himself.
I'm a damn fool, asking me anything is like asking a brick wall the meaning of life. I don't know anything and will never know anything for that is my meaning on this Earth.
Also, to all who roleplay with me. Please understand that I will break the rules, goddmod, complain, break friendships, and will cause nothing but chaos for everyone. So please, if you see me make an app in your RP, reject it automatically and banned me from ever being in that RP. It will be safe for everyone for I am cancer, and cancer must be isolated and destroyed.

Should anyone wish that I am just seeking attention for pity bullshit, you are right. Therefore please don't send any TGs about asking if this a prank, trolling, or anything of the like. Any rationals you come up for my behavior are all true.

The Lord of Destruction took in the sight below, watching with glee as his baleful presence only drove the mortals to greater and greater battle-frenzies. Though he was ever aware this was the smallest of fights, not even worth remembrance by mortals, but the battle-joy remained the same. That was the war god’s greatest gift to mortal kind, he thought. Not all were capable of it, the poets and singers of Terra may sing of it, but only true warriors knew the bliss of Bellicosus. The rush of adrenaline, the unwaverable strength, the seemingly boundless happiness that came with the blood, guts and death on the battlefield.

How he yearned for it! And for a moment, the Warmaster considered unsheathing his Infernal Sword, bringing it to bear on these fools below, bringing fire and ruin to all humans! To all mortals! Purge the realm of Terra with the greatest wave of destruction and death it had ever known! Even as these thoughts raced through his mind, the Warmaster glowed even brighter with ruinous flame and his steeds became restless, stomping their flaming hooves, chomping at the bit, maines ablaze, seemingly urging their terrible master on!

But Belicosus dismissed the idea almost as soon as he had it. Whatever satisfaction that would bring would be over soon enough, and a dead world would bore him even more than Mount Atherius...So he contented himself with this skirmish, smiling as a warrior smashed his opponents skull in with a club before roaring his defiance at his enemies, scowling as a coward hid behind a rock, weeping uncontrollably, his weapon long forgotten.

Then a thought occurred to him, as the roaring warrior was clubbed from behind and died instantly (such was the fate of war), these were his people. Those who dedicated themselves to glorious battle, hero or coward, be they brave or foolish. They were his. Why should they suffer the same fate in death as all the others? The mortals who acquitted themselves well and were covered in glory deserved reward and favour and those who disgraced themselves deserved punishment. He would provide both!

Pulling himself up to his full height, he drew his sword and bashed it against his dread armour, creating a hideous clang that would be heard throughout the realms of the gods.
“Hear me, Gods of Aetheria! Divine creatures great and small! For the Warmaster speaks, and all will listen!” He felt his hellish voice echo across the realms and was confident he would be heard. “From this day until the end of days, I Bellicosus, Lord of War and Destruction, declare that the souls of those slain in glorious battle are mine! Those who perform well, I will feast and reward in my own realm, where they will know the battle-joy for all time! Likewise those who disgrace themselves, I will punish, their souls shackled to the Realm of Destruction, where they will be the prey for our hunts and slave eternally in the Titanforge! This I declare, let all who challenge my right meet me in glorious battle, where we will settle the matter with blades! So says the Warmaster!”

Action: Create a new afterlife for those slain in battle, and challenge all those who would deny him this to combat!

Kona stared at the humans below as they scattered in the presence of his mighty dragon form. Of course, they would fear this form, it was intimidating, to say the least! He knew he needed to take a kinder form if he was to enamor these humans. He knew he couldn't appear in his true divine form for that would vaporize them into dust. Instead, he would transform into a radiant form of golden light. Nearly ninety-percent of his divine form so that they could be amazed, but not be vaporized to dust.

"Fear not, for I am Kona God of the Heavens, ruler of this world."

He said in their language as he descended onto the earth.

Action: Appear in a form close to his true form, as to not vaporize the humans, but to awe them to worship him.

The world of Terra spins across the sea of reality epic tales written in the Book of Time, the tales of the Dawn Age.

Hyzlet

The god of insects swept from the heavens and grabbed the hapless man below."Unhand me foul beast! Please gods above and below help me!" He screamed and pleaded in terror. There would be no one to save him, as he was now the prize of the god of insects, and he trembled in fear that he would be killed by what he thought as a horrific beast from the depths of hell.

Sociatus

The god of trade wandered the lands day in and day out. He saw magnificent beasts, all throughout the way, but nary a soul in sight in the blue marble called Terra. He eventually found himself in the tropical rainforests in the equator of the planet. He thought that he was as far from humanity as one could get, towering trees, and fungal growth, panthers, serpents, and gigantic beetles, why would anyone seek to live here? Then he saw them, a tribe of eighteen humans nestled in the opening of the jungle they peered at him with curiosity.

Murr Quhalden

Thus the Lord of Monsters traveled to the far southern reaches of the world. A great blizzard had erupted from the heavens over the snow-capped mountains of the south. The Lord of Monsters would find himself assaulted by spirits of ice. Furious where their attack shards of ice scarring his godly being. They damaged him enough that he would fall from the skies onto the mountains. But Fate would be on his side and Murr Quhalden would soon fall onto the entrance of the great citadel of Khag Maldir. Stone statues of the Dwarven lords guarded the entrance to the city. He was soon surrounded by a group of Dwarven guardsmen their mithril armor gleaming in the light of the southern sun, they raised their hammers in preparation for battle.

"What business do ye have here human?" The leader of the stout clan of warriors demanded.

Bellicosus

Thus a portal was torn in the fabric of reality the realm that Bellicosus had forged from his own power. The souls of the fallen warriors were soon claimed by the maws of the Lord of Destruction. Souls that would do battle, and feast for all eternity has the God of War desired. He found that no one opposed this at all, it seemed the gods were too busy with their own ambitions.

+30 souls of Fallen Warriors

Kona

The mortals were awed by the radiance of Kona, King of the Gods. Their fear abided in the presence of his nearly true form, they were enamored by its beauty. Some immediately bowed and worshipped him as the Lord of the Heavens, some were however skeptical and would need further probing if they were to accept Kona as their god. Kona would feel the power of their belief coursing through his godly veins and for a moment he was even stronger then he already was.

Hyztlet chuckled at the man "Don't you know, no God will help and no God will come as I am a God myself, I am the mighty Hyztlet lord of insects!" It then landed still holding the man he then got the man before its face, its mandibles closed and opened and Hyztlet's antennae pressed against the man's forehead, though not to kill him "Listen, Mortal, as you have been chosen to become the base of my next creation that will serve your kind, but, for the creation to be completed and for the new species to behave as I want you need to agree and don't be scared" his mandibles finally closed and words stopped coming out

Bellicosus waited, sword in hand, for any challenge to his decree. When it became apparent that none would oppose him, he sheathed the infernal blade and grunted disappointedly. It had been years since he had killed a divine being and he would have enjoyed the chance to do so again…

Turning his attention back to the battle, it was clear his continued presence and brief surge in power had driven the humans to an ecstasy of slaughter. Mutilated corpses littered the battlefield, as well as severed limbs, bone fragments and crushed skulls, many of their owners had been claimed for his corpse hall, and the God of War grinned as he felt a slow but steady trickle of souls enter his domain. Some were given a seat at the long tables and were regaled with glorious stories and plied with strong drink. The unworthy, however, were lashed with chains and forced to serve the honoured dead, tending to weapons, serving food and the most unfortunate were sent to the Titanforge, to make new armaments for the warriors.

As for the survivors, it was clear one side had gained the advantage and had begun to encircle their foes, forcing them into a tight pack. The losing side’s warriors would have undoubtedly fled, if it were not for a giant of a man barking at them to fight on. This man was clad in crude bone-armour and armed with a formidable wooden club. He was clearly their chieftain and the Warmaster watched with approval as he picked up an enemy and bludgeoned him with such force that the club shattered into pieces. Unperturbed, the giant picked up another enemy by the throat and smashed him into another before charging into the enemy line, blood caked fists flailing. Yes. The war god thought, impressed by the display of prowess and savagery. He would be a worthy addition to the Honoured Dead. But not today...

Spurring his chariot downwards and roaring his battle cry, the Lord of Destruction looked from below to be a flaming meteorite flying above the losing side. An omen of favour. At the same time, Bellicosus touched the minds of his favoured army, whipping them up into an even greater bloodfrenzy than before. For the chieftain, though, the Warmaster gifted a serenity, a moment of total clarity in which the whole battlefield became clear, “Go! slaughter them all” Bellicosus said in the mortal’s mind. “Do so in my name, and the day is yours.

Action: Inspire the chosen army to win the battle and the favour of Bellicosus

Drip...drip...drip...droop...
Though the aged fortress of Khag Maldir is one of forges and steelcraft, the one constant of life is that of water. Dwarves require it to power their steam engines, to brew their famed liquors, or generally to create a vast civilization. This particular pool was known as Dwarspring, allegedly where the first Dwarves woke, or hid during the Titanomachy. It was named such for it had a picturesque view of the night sky, inspiring the dwarves to wrought gem and precious metal much like the stars were wrought in the skies.

While the stars were hidden, between the fully waxed moon and the low wisps of smog from the chimneys. The dripping of the fresh spring echoed with the increasingly nervous bouncing of a ball off a rather mundane cavern wall.

Ivdar was sitting in Atherius when he noticed what was going on on Terra. Kona had just revealed a form close to his true form... just to get worshippers. The king was obsessed with getting them. Ivdar laughed as the humans were skeptical of Kona. Ivdar would get some more worshippers a later time, but he wasn’t obsessed with getting people to worship him like the other Atherians were. He just got as many humans to worship him as he needed to remain powerful and use his godly powers without effort.

Ivdar descended to Terra, appearing near Kona and his followers. He quickly changed his form to become a human warrior so that he wouldn’t alert Kona or his worshippers and wandered over to the caverns nearby. Returning to his true form, he attempted to open a portal to the underworld and see what awaited him there.

Action: open a portal to the underworld

Murr Quhalden, God of Monsters

The crash down into the entrance had gave the god a irritated pain. One that wasn't as painful as it was but that did hurt his concentration to meet the ground. When he came to, a host of Dwarves came out of the entrance with hammers held high. The warning came as humorous as it was troublesome.

He stood up and spoke," I am Murr Quhalden and I wish to speak to your finest blacksmith to commission a tool for me."

Kona saw that there where those that were skeptical. He was patient a lesser god would smite these mortals, but he would show them he meant it when he said he was the Lord of the Heavens. It was a clear sunshine day not a cloud in the sky. He floated high above the earth and raised his arms. His eyes glowed and clouds gathered, lightning struck from the heavens, and a tempest had formed, from the power of the King of the Gods. Soon it rained upon the mortals and they would witness the power of the King Kona.

Action: Summon rain and lighting to convince remaining non-believers of his divinity.

The thudding of the God naturally drew the attention of Arjila, as she leapt like a droplet in rain unseen through the cavernous deeps. She revealed herself to the bestial deity, a shadow of her own draconic form matching that of Murr's, but not fully revealed until necessary. Such a battle between forces would decimate the already fragile dwarven populace. Arjila called out "What business, does Murr Quhalden, son of Malacar, Lord of Monsters have with the forges of Khag Maldir?" the diminutive woman demanded. In spite of her slight, and overall unimpressive build, her voice carried across the distance clearly.

A Tale of a Stone Giant
Year 1-2, Age of Myth

Out in the vast plains of Terra, all is quiet except for the thumping of a stone giant. Thump, thump, thump, it goes. No-one, not even Armonk itself, knows why it travels without purpose. It has been millions of years and not a single day is spent on anything but the slow methodical walk across untold planes. Until one day, that is today, Armonk stops in-front of a massive tree stump. Armonk stares at the tree stump for a few minutes before sitting on it.

From there, Armonk waits. Armonk does not know why it does the things it does, but it does not matter. For weeks, Armonk just sits on this one tree stump - not moving an inch as rain and wind sets in from time to time. Something sparks in Armonk’s mind as it sits - an idea. Armonk wishes to build something, but what? So, it now thinks. More weeks pass by as Armonk does nothing. One day as it rains, pellets of rain splashes upon the stone giant, Armonk stands up.

Grabbing the tree stump’s sides, Armonk unearths the stamp and throws it off into the distance. After that, Armonk heads off, seeking building materials. Armonk arrives at riverbed. It locations a clay deposit within the streaming waters. Using its mass and body, Armonk digs up clumps of red earth - going back and forth to the rooted tree stump until the deposit is no more.

The steps of the stone giant echoes throughout the air as Armonk lifts and carries back boulders. Shouldering the stone “pebbles”, Armonk throw forth these massive boulders against each other to crack them apart. Armonk continues to gather up its stock to build. Armonk grips the shaft of a large thick tree before unearth the entire thing with roots and all - leaving a crater behind in where a tree once was. Craters dot the plains, Armonk violently tearing apart stone and earth to get building stuffs.

Once getting all the stuff that it needed - whole trees, dirt, rough stone, dirt, straws, and whatnot - Armonk starts process its items. Walking to its pit that he made, the one that he ripped the tree stamp from; Armonk throws in clay and straw. Armonk proceeds to mix the bunch together. Armonk throws down its trees in vertical lines next to each other on the ground. Armonk grabs its mixture and starts to build something….

Action : Lay foundation for a big-fuck-off thick storehouse.

Societus looked stunned for a second. The tribe watched has he approached he put down his many garments in hopes of creating a more joyous atmosphere, he grabbed an edible furuit off the tree and bit into it making sure to show it was safe to eat. Gesturing his and the brightly colored fruit outward he did his best to say hi in the native language.

Action: Greet the Natives and begin a conversation.

The bestial man had saw the goddess of water come down. He didn't want to do war with the goddess, let alone any of the gods. He huffed at the sound of the question and dust himself, seeing the scars on his form going away but still left it's icy sting.

Arjila nodded, though was still wary. While her springs fed all life, including the monsters that Murr commanded, it did not mean that she would give it freely or willingly. "What manner of commission do you suppose your power is required, and for what will you exchange the folk of the mountain with?"

PHARNOS THE CRIMSON
LORD OF THE UNDERWORLD

THE
strangest and most mysterious of Atherian gods sat on his throne of pure obsidian. It was very plain and simple, being only a chair made of black stone, yet tall and imposing in its own right. The god who sat in it was far more imposing; a hundred-feet tall figure wearing black-crimson armor, with a pale skin, red fiery eyes, and a black staff at hand. The court itself was no different. Pharnos had made the place in his own image of a beautiful realm. His palace was very much similar to the regular, palatial mortal residences back on the living world there, filled with ornaments, golden and silver statues of legendary kings and warriors - a honor to the nobly fallen. The only thing odd about it all was indeed, his obsidian throne. The appearance he chose was a thing to be considered, also. Whatever kind of paradise he had created here, there are still other realmsof the Underworld full with dusk and terrible things.

Pharnos descended the stairway right in front of his throne, descending to the court. Five dozen of his palace guards lined the courthall's pylons, standing serene without an inch moving. Exactly the way he had created them at first. His herald, a mortal lady that he had taken into protection, opened the court for petitioners and those who came seeking admission to Paradise. Normally, he loathed and spit at those mortals - so little as a pebble beneath him, begging for whatever riches they could maintain even in death. But somewhere down he still had pity for them, a sense to extend the helping hand. No matter; his ruling was the best of all gods could muster.

He boomed his voice so all in the Paradise could hear him. "Thereforth the Lord of the Underworld opened his house," he said, "so all those riddled in the misery of death, could seek salvation, if one is worthy." It was a lie, though not so much. A chance of a person being worthy for him is akin to one in a hundred.

The first petitioner stepped up on his presence, and strangely enough it was his messenger. Not some mortal begging for help. As the usual, he raised his staff and asked the messenger. "Leal servant of mine. What is it that had bothered you so?"

The messenger humbly bowed. "All-powerful Crimson Lord. I ask your forgiveness the utmost, but I fear terrible news I have brought here." Now this started to gain his attention. "Thirty souls, milord! Thirty souls had been ripped off, their essences transferred away, scurried through some unlikely event to the upperworld. Thirty brave and noble souls had been claimed from us!"

If Pharnos had been calm earlier, this had evoked his rage. His human form changed and melted away. His black staff was shortened to a speck of golden energy. Tendrils of lava dropped from his form, scaring the mortals beneath. Even his messenger flinched seeing the Ruler of the Underworld reverting back to his true form. Now, the bright light emanating from a golden bird-like creature filled the room, followed by a thundering voice. "Who? Who dares? Who dares to take what is rightfully mine, rightfully my rule?"

The messenger fell to his knees. "Mercy, milord, mercy! The Warmaster had the responsibility - the Warmaster God Bellicosus."

Pharnos screamed a great shriek, so loud that the whole Maelstrom could hear it. It is because they had died the mortals couldn't bleed out hearing his scream. In his whole tenure as a Caretaker of the Nether, he had never experiences such insolence as this. "I would never tolerate any intruder ever again." His fiery wings raised, a tendril of energy rose up from his form, ascending the skies of Paradise. "I bound this realm to mine," he screamed, "and this realm is bound to me. Not a single being shall leave under my watch. Not a single being would enter under my watch! So spoke the Lord of the Underworld. So commanded the Ruler of Souls!"

Leaving the palace below, Pharnos broke through its roof, basking in the warm sun and glimmering flower fields of many colors. His realm was beautiful, as it shall be for the glorious dead. His command echoing through the whole Underworld, he can see every soul, each mortal's feet covered by golden strings. Be it the warriors, the nobles, the glorious dead, or even a commoner; be it a damned or those graced in Paradise. Every one of them was now chained down to his realm.

"There would be no more coming for you, impostor," his voice echoed all the way to the upper world. His message was now directly clear - he alone is the master of souls, he alone is the master of Underworld. Not a single grain of sand leaves under his command. "Expect retribution."

All of a sudden, a portal opened in front of his palace. He recognized the figure; Ivdar, the God of Illusions had entered his realm. A protective dome surrounded Ivdar immediately; a myriad of his guards came after. He descended and reverted back to his human form. "State your importance."

Action: Bind all souls to the Underworld, effectively stopping any chance of mortals to leave. Surround Ivdar with a dome and two dozen guards. Speak to Ivdar.

Aboreus, God of Forests and Animals
Aboreus rested in the branches of a tree, overlooking the rest of his forests. The rise of mortals had at first concerned him, causing fear for his forests, yet the Humans were too Primitive, the Elves lived in harmony with nature, and the Dwarves busied themselves in the mountains. Yet, he remained wary of the day that the Mortals might advance on the Forests with axes in hand, of his creations being hunted or cut down. So, he thought.

His control over animals was not yet significant enough to create a mortal species, let alone one that could defend Nature...yet his ability to mold the Forests to his will might come in handy. Selecting a sturdy tree, the dragon-esque god breathed into it, attempting to animate it.

Action: Animate a tree
