Successful Few, Unfortunate Masses
As the global economy has continued to advance, a small group of individuals, governments, and corporations have found themselves with an unprecedented level of wealth and power. Massive corporations like ‘Handel, Lutz, & Roechmeyer' and Wuxing push the governments of developing nations to carry out their agendas. Nations who have benefited greatly from the global economic stability such as Yahel and Santa Rosa find themselves with ever-increasing tax bases, and ambitions to match. For many, the wealthiest individuals on the planet are seen as role models, and treated like celebrities.
Citizens all across the globe from all backgrounds have taken advantage of low trade fees and tried their hand at the market-- some seeing success, but a large majority are only able to watch as their wealth is lost in an instant. In some cases, entire nations fear their economies being brought to ruin as their citizens choose to invest in more stable, developed markets. This group of economic ‘losers’ grow ever more resentful towards the fortunate economic elite, and feel betrayed by the visions of prosperity which the elite had promised them.

Far-left and far-right movements alike continue to gain traction within historically moderate governments, with some movements gaining enough popularity to gain seats in government.
Where compromise was once found within many parliaments and congresses, parties often refuse to cooperate in order to please their increasingly radicalized voter bases. Many political parties work tirelessly to slander the name of their rivals, and politicians who opted to set aside their values in exchange for profit via crony capitalism in the years of prosperity fear their practices being revealed to the public.

Less politically stable states find themselves at odds with secretive, non-state movements and activist groups who advocate for any number of changes in policy. Nations with governments who have historically opted to suppress political dissidence within their borders may find that these groups are particularly prevalent within their territory, as the populace see no other options. Groups such as the North Star Resistance and the Texas Liberation Army find themselves working both alongside and against other activist groups and resistance movements.
Many young men and women looking to make quick money in a more reliable fashion than investing opt to begin working as part of groups like the Somali Slurpers and the Coca Caravaneers: criminal syndicates who use predatorial recruitment methods to enlist the impoverished masses to bolster their numbers. In the most extreme cases, desperate individuals turn to violent extremist groups and mafias in order to provide security for themselves in their family.

- If you are using a puppet, you must clearly state who the puppet belongs to. Failure to do so will result in the nulling of any posts related to that puppet and you getting removed from the RP.
- You must have an account on Discord and be on the APSIA Discord Server in order to participate in this RP.
- Your posts are allowed to be humorous, but the tone has to fit with both your nation and the APSIA region as a whole.
