Congratulations to Sandy Zimmerman

Postby The Federation of Spokane » Tue Jun 25, 2019 11:46 am

Last night, Sandy Zimmerman did something that no ANW contestant had ever done before, being the first mom to ever hit the buzzer, completing the course. This was done during the Seattle/Tacoma qualifying round, which was held in the Tacoma dome. She was also the first woman to hit the buzzer in the 11th season and the oldest woman to ever complete the course, at the age of 42. This is a big step forward for ANW, what will be next from this amazing woman? All I have to say personally is, Congratulations to Sandy. She did a good job, and she demonstrates that nothing is never Zimmpossible!

So...what are we meant to discuss here?

The Irradiated Wasteland of The New California Republic: depicting the expanded NCR, several years after the total victory over Caesar's Legion, and the annexation of New Vegas and its surrounding areas.

White-collared conservatives flashing down the street
Pointing their plastic finger at me
They're hoping soon, my kind will drop and die
But I'm going to wave my freak flag high

So... a game show contestant has won the game show?

Congrats I guess? Is this game show infamously difficult?

Conserative Morality wrote:"It's not time yet" is a tactic used by reactionaries in every era. "It's not time for democracy, it's not time for capitalism, it's not time for emancipation." Of course it's not time. It's never time, not on its own. You make it time. If you're under fire in the no-man's land of WW1, you start digging a foxhole even if the ideal time would be when you *aren't* being bombarded, because once you wait for it to be 'time', other situations will need your attention, assuming you survive that long. If the fields aren't furrowed, plow them. If the iron is not hot, make it so. If society is not ready, change it.

Personally I prefer the Japanese original. The water was dirty, no one congratulated themselves for failing and the big prize at the end was like enough for a family dinner at a midpriced restaurant.

We're not going to control the pandemic!

It is a slaughter and not just a political dispute.

"The scraps of narcissism, the rotten remnants of conspiracy theories, the offal of sour grievance, the half-eaten bits of resentment flow by. They do not cohere. But they move in the same, insistent current of self, self, self."

Right you are, Ken!
