The Kafairans were running. They were moving to make cover in the armored train, and were separating to aid in the firing of the train's guns. Many of them mounted their MG's, and started returning fire to the shells, trying to blow them up. A few landed nice shots, sending fire and explosions blanketing the sky. Now, el-Tomer was moving. He walked over to the small group, where the Yeglan sub was stationed. He has 20 men with him, and he called out in Hebrew to start aiding the townsfolk in hitting the mountain.

"Someone tried to kill Zkto'...? Explains the shit-show." He simply comments, calmly even as the artillery shell whistles in. "Impressive shot." He simply says, before turning to face the mountain. "And no, we're bombarding their spotters. That artillery is arching over that mountain. That's why i'm bringing that thing out." He says, gesturing at the door of the lowered bunker, where the heavy blast-doors are being opened. "My artillery won't find his, before he finds mine. I intend to find his in two shots." He says, smiling, turning to look at the bunker with his good eye.

The massive form of a KE-15 slowly being pushed out by two engines, as its crew rushes to prepare it, moving all around the massive gun.

Uvoanian troops are rushing to man the artillery pieces, or coordinating bombardment. The town soon becomes a constant cacophony of noise, of the firing artillery, cannons, machine guns, and the shouting of orders. Of course, the inbound bombardment has been lessened, but the shells keep coming in quickly. Slowly walking their path towards the armored train...

The skirmishers had scrambled, the moment the heavy guns had started firing on the mountain. They still took moments to direct fire, but they were at the same time, too busy running to properly coordinate the fire...

The Commander grimaced, as he looked at the town with his binoculars. The counter-fire was the biggest issue, even as the mountainside shook with the fire.

Rasputin looked over at the monstrous artillery piece.

"Ah, the most famous example of Uvoanian overcompensation. No offense, of course. But if finding their artillery is the objective, I may have a few ideas of my own."

He spoke into the card-like device once more.

"To fleet command - have a few GRAPEVINE squads disembark. Twenty men is more than enough. Transmit orders as follows - locate hostile artillery. Avoid engagement of any sort, simply provide a location and bearing. Do so as precisely as possible, and avoid detection at all costs. Transmit coordinates back to command. That is all."

He turned to the commander.

"We'll find them with little issue. And once we have their precise location, they'll be in for quite the surprise."

A few minutes later, a Morok transport had rolled up onto the beach. From within, a group of soldiers emerged. They looked to be clad in a combination of light, angular plates and camouflage netting, all held together by a loose framework of struts and braces. As they walked, their attire seemed to shimmer - taking on the hue and texture of the ground beneath, and the nearby walls. Almost in unison, they broke into a jog - near-silently, and with vastly superhuman speed and endurance, they made their way towards the mountains. Once they reached the treeline, they disappeared from view almost immediately, as if they had simply become one with the foliage.

These were operatives of GRAPEVINE - elite scouts and infiltrators. Guided by acoustic sensors and onboard targeting computers, they would find their quarry without much trouble.

Uvoanian Airspace - 586,080 feet up - L.E.O. Spy Satellite

In Low Earth Orbit over Uvoan was a military satellite that had been positioned in geostationary orbit by a company that had launched it as a communications satellite the year prior. This satellite now was beaming a live feed of all major activities across Uvoan to people in a foreign power who were watching from thousands of miles away.

"Sir, the teams have jumped. Landing in three minutes."

"Alright, keep me informed on breaking updates. I want the teams to meet up with their respective contacts as soon as possible."

The Chuck - Grand Basin - Naval Academy and Uvoan Warship

As the Uvoanian sailors were finishing up their training at the Grand Basin Naval Academy, the doors to their different classrooms were kicked open and Chuckian soldiers came pouring in with weapons drawn. Immediately behind them was a woman who wore the uniform and insignia of a major.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen. I'm certain you've heard the bad news by now but Uvoan has descended into Civil war. As such, you're all now under protective custody. Please come peacefully with us."

With that, the Uvoanian sailors of the Uvoan were escorted to a hastily erected facility on the piers of Grand Basin. A internment camp had been constructed with guard towers and barracks surrounded by barbed wire.

"Until we can get you all sorted out, you will be staying here. However, you will also finish your training on how to operate the new equipment on the Uvoan too."

"Ah, of course." He chuckles. "The gun will be still be prepared- No offense, but there is still a bigger example of over-compensation." Veraz smiles. "And, well, that gun is very effective at counter-bombardments." He simply says, even as his smaller pieces continue to bombard the mountain...

He watches the exchange between the Vozhd and the GRAPEVINEs, before nodding.

"Of course- It is a show I look forward too." Veraz admitted

The mountain was shaking with the sheer amount of artillery the town was throwing at it... There were skirmishers though, retreating. Getting behind the mountain, and were heading for where the distant guns were bombarding the town, as crews rushed shells about...

Only about a 100 guns- And only 100 guns were causing all this chaos. They had to give whoever it was credit- They could certainly throw a lot of pieces together in a hurry.

The citizen milita was certainly glad of the help- Using the extra manpower to move shells into position faster, setup better defensive lines, or to help drag more pieces of artillery out of storage. Or directing the Kafairans to help move civilians to safer positions within the town.

The Uvoanians had instantly turned, alert, reaching for holdout pistols which they had kept on them. Pausing the moment they recognized the rare, official, soldier...

"... Huh. Thought we had another few months." One of them had said, but they all followed. Clearly, they'd been expecting it...

After they arrived, suprisingly, none of them complained about the accomodations. Most remaining silent, as they wondered who was supporting who, far, far, back home... And who would come for them, in this mess they all had a gut feeling had formed.

Approximately 15km outside Philid
Firebase 'Excalibur'

It had taken about half an hour for the GRAPEVINE operatives to locate the source of the shelling. Now, they sat perched in various vantage points - unmoving, of identical coloration and texture to their surroundings, they merely watched. And transmitted - every artillery piece was located and identified, and its coordinates were logged.

Philid
Town Center

Rasputin took the device away from his ear. He smiled.

"It looks like we've struck gold, so to speak. Or rather, exactly one hundred artillery pieces. Truth be told, we haven't struck anything directly... yet."

He returned to the transmitter.

"Alright, have the Triglavs surface. You have the coordinates, you know what to do. It's not like they can escape in time. I'll leave target priorities up to you."

He put it away.

"Well, it looks like we're about to start unloading some fireworks of our own. I am unsure whether you'll be able to hit them directly from here, considering your weapons' elevation, but I can provide a map reference if needed. Feel free to lend your support."

Some distance offshore, five vessels broke the surface of the water. Almost immediately, they deployed their weapons. Something was different, however - in place of turret batteries, the deck of each ship was now dominated by a rapidly unfolding, near-vertical barrel. The Leshiy-class kinetic batteries towered, and they had to. It would be rather difficult to get the required amount of acceleration on such heavy projectiles otherwise. Now, minute adjustments to angle were made - gyroscopically stabilized, each ship was near-guaranteed to strike within two meters of its target's center. With a mighty retort, all five fired simultaneously - five mighty alloy rods, shooting off into near-vertical trajectories. But not quite vertical. After a certain point, they would reach a parabola... and then inevitably be dragged down, towards some very unfortunate artillerymen, dozens of kilometers below.

Low-Earth orbit above Uvoan

The satellite had been delayed somewhat. Its route had gone through numerous alterations and modifications. And yet, it had finally reached its target position - with a brief impulse from its thrusters, it was now locked into geosynchronous orbit. It was an odd-looking device, to be sure - its angular, dull-black plates were more reminiscent of some kind of armor than any typical satellite exterior. Its shape, overall, was vaguely conical. Now, it deployed a series of smaller, spheroid-like devices - scattering to their own pre-designated points, these miniature companions were akin to sensor packages. Eyes of a sort, for a greater whole. And if they were eyes, then the central unit could be called the hand. Or fist, depending on circumstance.

Vedogon Unit-23 had been successfully deployed, and now cast its unblinking gaze across Uvoan.

The first few targeted guns detonated- Crews washed away in an explosion of ammunition, powder, and screams. Other crews scrambled to find the source of what was responsible- Which was rather hard, considering they didn't really leave a conventional trail...

"Only a hundred pieces? Hmph." Veraz says, turning, after receiving the coordinates of course, and calling to his own artillery in Uvoanian. Angles- Degrees, and then he calls out the KE-15, as its massive gun-barrel starts to elevate. He then turns back to Rasputin. "Just barely within our striking capabilities... Expect for the KE-15. Everything with 75 kilos is that things striking radius." He chuckles, as the artillery guns adjust, adjust... And then the Uvoanian guns start adding shells. At first, one by one, then the batteries get their act together.

And then another minute passes, and the air shakes. The town literally shaking on its foundations as the KE-15 sends a shell flying. The so-called 'Ultimate in Uvoanian Compensation' sending its payload of high-explosive death at those who dare strike at the town it defends. Veraz checks his watch a few seconds later, murmuring something in Uvoanian. And then the shell strikes behind the mountain in the distance, the air shaking from the sheer amount of explosive filler which goes up.

"If your first bombardment didn't kill them, that sure did." Veraz says, as he turns to the KE-15 crew, giving them a gesture as they start to load another shell, just incase.

The GRAPEVINE operatives witnessed the detonation first-hand. A few of them were knocked from their perches by the shockwave, but they had distanced themselves from the artillerymen for a reason. At this distance, the diminished shockwave was easily absorbed by their armor. A few minutes later, when the smoke had cleared, they radioed in to confirm total destruction of enemy assets. The guns near the epicenter were gone without a trace - with naught but a crater to signify that they had ever been there. Near the blast's edges, a few were still visible - warped by the heat and force, half-buried under loosened earth. Mangled corpses littered the clearing, though it was apparent that a few of the artillerymen still drew breath. The operatives sat, unmoving, and awaited further instructions.

Philid

Rasputin whistled quietly as he felt the shell impact. He listened to the operatives' report with a thoughtful expression.

"Yes, get one or two in for questioning. See if you can snag an officer - though I doubt you can be picky, considering what you've just described. Make sure the rest are dead."

He turned to the commander.

"A second shot will not be needed. I can confirm total destruction of enemy assets, and near-total casualties on their end. Indeed, we shouldn't have wasted the ammo. One shot from that monstrosity was enough. Now, we should probably inspect the damages on our end. Hopefully, the train is still intact."

Philid
Railway Yard

Sonia leaned back in her seat. Sweat beaded across her brow, and her expression was one of tired contentedness. That had indeed been fun - they had intercepted everything aimed at the train, and protected most of the railway yard from direct hits. Reaching into a mini-fridge beside her, she cracked open a can of soda. The perks of piloting a custom-built vehicle.

Strelnikov was leaning against the wall of his crow's nest, lost in thought. Things had gone well. The train was intact, and the rest of the town seemed to be in equally acceptable condition. But what on Earth had that thunderous blast been?

Uvoan Coastal Waters
Some distance away from Philid

Their task complete, the five artillery ships re-folded their batteries, and sank back under the waves. Soon, there was no indication that they had ever been there.

Back at the pier, the Bogatyr gradually came out of an alert state. Targeting computers were put on standby once more, and armaments were undeployed. The behemoth awaited further orders.

Kafairian Frontier
Image
100. 99. 98. 97.

The company's worth of men were swiftly reduced in numbers during the initial charge, by the enemy right in front of them. Firing short bursts, prancing from cover to cover, ducking hails of bullets all with the intent of plunging a sharp bayonet into the abdomen of the Kafairian imperialists. Grenades were unleashed by both sides, and bodies were split in half. The cries of 30-year-olds resounded from beach-head to beach-head. The Pan-Asiatic soldiers did not expect to survive.

88. 86. 80.

Diminished numbers were the price of advancing. An Aspirant Second Class in black pajamas thrusts his blood-stained dagger into a Kafairian officer's heart, only for it to be met with a sword. The Pan-Asiatic soldier stumbles to the ground, and is swiftly beheaded. In his final moments he hears nothing, for the sound of gunfire has crippled his sense of hearing. His final thoughts are of his four brothers in Hanoi, and that of his father's, who would be proud to know he died with honor.

61. 60. 59. 58.

Thousands of Kafairian boots were now firmly planted on Skyhookedian sand. Total obliteration of the suicide-charging forces was now imminent, but every dead Asian meant three more dead Kafairians and five more minutes for the defenders behind them to prepare. Nearly half of the company was dead. The Datu signaled his men to take cover behind a row of sandbags, debris from one of the trenches blown-up by Kafairian naval bombardment. The smell of burned flesh could still be detected, and the limbless torsos of both Skyhookedian and Asian defenders were still rested on the walls of the trench interior. The contingent recuperated its losses. The men of the company reloaded their automatic rifles while two volunteers from a scout unit provided covering fire by machine-guns from clandestine bushes. When Kafairian spotters took them out, the Datu prepared to make another, final charge.

20. 19. 18. 17.

The heaviest of losses were inflicted, as the thousand-strong gunfire met the necks of the defenders. One of the Aspiarants of the contingent threw a smoke grenade to mask the attack, sowing confusion in the ranks of the Kafairians. The Datu had drawn his own jian on the Kafairian soldiers, readying himself to die with his men. But before that would happen, like the all-consuming storms on the shores of Hokuto, he would wipe-out the imperialists. Learned in the art of Filipino swordfighting, arnis, his Chinese shortsword repelled the onslaught of the Sultan's finest. He valiantly cut down the foe, taking-down two men in one swing. He charged forward alongside five of his men, assaulting the horde's pincers. The Datu disarmed one man by slicing-off his arm. The six of them pursued a retreating private, cutting him down as well.

However, the Kafairians were persistent, and when wave after wave began to compress unto the position of the Datu and his men, they knew it would only be a matter of time until their positions would be overrun. The Datu fired a flare, a signal which the II Corps interpreted as it was: that the sector had collapsed.

The graceful Datu heard the Kafairian battlecries resounding, harmonious to the trodding of a thousand boots sprinting forward. He threw another smoke grenade. He picked-up a flag of the Pan-Asiatic States which was once bestowed upon a banner-bearer who now lay dead on the cold, rocky sand. Waving it upwards until his final breath, he would not even hear the sound of the stray bullet which would cause his end. He died alongside his men, their duty fulfilled, with their eyes to the sky and their hearts beating evermore.

Uvoanian Airspace - 31,000 feet up - Unmarked/Unregistered High Altitude Cargo Plane

As the C-130 rumbled over Uvoan, the dozen figures in the rear checked their gear and got ready to jump. In the evening sun the skies above Uvoan looked peaceful except for the land below where civil war was raging. The 12 people on board went by many names, mercenaries, contractors, agents, etc. but at the end of the day, they were employed by certain people from a certain nation with interests in each warring faction in Uvoan. As they made last minute checks to their equipment, the pilot suddenly came on over the P.A. system,

"Drop zone in 2 mikes."

With that, the flight engineer moved to the side of the cargo hold and started to lower the ramp.

"Good luck and God speed!"

with that, the 12 figures jumped out of the craft and into the evening sky.

As they plummeted towards the ground, the C-130 banked away and started to head towards the border of Uvoan territory.

Uvoan - Woodland Clearing

Once the 12 agents landed, they met up and said their farewells before they split into teams of two and headed in separate directions. Each team was equipped with two unmarked AK pattern rifles, one foreign made SR-25 marksman's rifle, 50 lbs of demolition charges, two CSP-21 pistols, and enough MREs to get by for four days along with their camouflage uniforms and other mundane gear.

Uvoan - Outside of Vulon - Outside of Communist base

Two of the 12 agents who had jumped from the aircraft earlier had managed to travel to the outskirts of Vulon via hitchhiking and hijacking a couple vehicles. Once outside of Volun, the two agents had ditched their vehicle and crept to the top of a hill overlooking the communist faction base and waited for the commanding officer to appear. As they waited for the officer to appear, one of them set up their marksman's rifle and the other went about setting up a radio.

Uvoan - Inside of Vokan - Inside Industrial District

The two agents who were traveling to Vokan actually stuck with the other two who were headed to Volun until they had to skirt around Volun to continue their journey. Once they arrived in Vokan they had sought shelter in some destroyed buildings in the industrial district to avoid the primary fighting and attempted to find a way to contact the industrialist faction

Uvoan - Outside of New Asan - Near Monarchist Faction Base

Two agents who had been tasked with contacting the Monarchist faction had the shortest journey and were now camped out hidden near the Monarchist base waiting for an opportunity to contact them. They had set up a hunter's blind in some trees overlooking a road through the woods and were hoping to either be able to contact the Monarchists or ambush a convoy of a different faction.

"Target sighted."

"Affirm, cross wind, east to west at four knots. Six hundred yards to target."

With that, the sniper made the proper adjustments before her trigger finger gently inched forward and hit the toggle button on the laser mounted on her rifle. With that a red dot appeared on Wule Chao. The markwoman's spotter grabbed the radio and keyed it to the Communist radio frequencies.

Skyhooked, Kafairian Front

The men cheered. They had punched through the small suicide charge with relative ease. They had taken around 100 casualties, but they had done it. They were surprised by how ferocious the PAS troops had been. As they cleaned up their dead, a small group planted a Kafairian flag, and dug individual graves for the PAS men.

A Private walked up to the General.

"Sir! Why are we digging graves for the enemy?"
"They fought valiantly. They did not break. In the face of certain death, they stayed and fought. That is to be respected. Continue. We will set up camp. There are some reinforcements on the way. We will meet up here, and get ready for combat. The next step will be the defensive of the PAS lines. Dismissed!"
"Yes sir!"

Engineers are running around, setting up their practiced fortifications with ease. before t long, a web of trench stretch before the camp, and walls and towers were erected. Getting in now would mean on hell of a battle, all under the watchful eye of the Leviathan and Lotus.

Skyhooked, Captured Beach

The small beach that the first group cleared was now full. The troops left thier to guild renforcmentd saw the huige transports arrive. Now, ena dn animals were unloaded. This force was huge, in nuber, and size. It also packed an interesting punch. Nodding to their officer, ther whole group formed ranks, and moved. They moved through previously captured areas, where samll groups were left to man them. Nodding to the large force, they moved. They would reach the main force in around a day of marching. And so, they move on.

ORBAT for Moon Fleet Reinforcements(Army group 2)

The Grey Force: 2000 men (200 armored elephants. Armor meaning full on, steel plating on the outside, and covered heads, legs, tails, and underbellies. There are a pair of carriages on top, that house 10 men with snipers and MG's. There is a heavy mortar on it as well. 10 men per elephant.)
The Blue force: 2000 men (Horsemen. Use armored horses. Have smg's and sabers)
The Red force: 2000 men (Horsemen. Use armored horses. Have smg's and sabers)
The Yellow Force: 2000 men (Rhinos. Trained to charge at fortifications. have heavy reinforced head armor.. used to collapse buildings. have small carriage on top with 5 men in each. 400 individual rhinos. Fully plated. Head, underbelly, tail, chest and legs.
Misc Heavy troops: 4000 men (2000 ironclads. Have huge iron plates on body, covering them from head to toe. Hold massive, 2in thick steel shield. Have experimental exo-suits to carry them. Are used to protect troops from MG's and in trench combat. Slow. 1000 heavy MG operators. These men have large, armor piercing MG's. There are in reality 500 MG's. Each gunner has another trooper to protect him. 1000 heavy artillery men. These guys are packing variables armaments of rockets, mortars, high explosive grenades, gas nades and smoke nads. They also act as spotters for the ship cannons, so, eh, hid if you see them, and cower in fear.)

Philid
Railway Yard

It had been a busy week. Yeglan engineers and construction workers, backed up by Kafairian personnel, had worked tirelessly on the battle-train's transformation. Car by car, they had welded, grafted and replaced. Aging systems were superseded by novel analogues, and electronics were wired in among the masses of piping. That which wasn't replaced was at least smartened up - an extensive program of cleaning, polishing and protective varnishing had made every decade-old part sparkle with a factory-fresh sheen.

Now, the monstrous vehicle sat in one of the rail yard's hangar bays. One could not recognize it by a passing glance - the riveted, plate-steel exterior was almost entirely gone. In its place, each carriage was now adorned with a covering of seamless, angular matte-grey plates. No longer would the passengers be protected by merely a layering of thickened metal - anything attempting any sort of penetration would first have to make its way through a layered system of electromagnetic reactive plating, along with a smattering of alternating nanopolymer layers. The aging cannons were mostly gone, too. Some of the larger pieces remained, now fitted with autoloaders and targeting systems. After all, there was something to be said for the Uvoaninans' habit of bolting overlarge cannons onto overlarge trains. The rest had been replaced by Yeglan naval-standard kinetic batteries of various calibers. Here and there, one could spy the deployment hatch for a missile pod. There were also a few unusual-looking protrusions - while they didn't appear to be weapons in a conventional sense, they were perhaps the most threatening armaments in the train's newly-expanded arsenal. Thaumic delivery systems, custom fitted with a novel set of constructs.

But the greatest changes had been made to the central carriage - the locomotive. The engine had been entirely gutted. Yeglan engineers had toiled in secrecy, closing themselves off from even their Kafairian allies. What they installed was a highly experimental device, the fruit of the Science Ministry's most cutting-edge developments. The first of its kind to be deployed in practice - a hybrid thaumoelectric engine. While it could still operate using the same standards of fuel as prior, and do so at a far greater efficiency, a secondary mode of propulsion presented itself in the thaumic condenser arrays it was now fitted with. These would ensure that the train could operate even in the absence of conventional fuel, though at diminished engine capacity. They also allowed for temporary overcharging, providing a brief burst of highly-enhanced performance when needed. Even the engineers themselves weren't privy to most of the internal workings of what they were installing - only a select few of the Vozhd's advisers, along with Rasputin himself, were aware of the complete schematics.

A few additional cars had also been added - sourced from Philid's civilian railroad stock at a mutually-negotiated price, and refitted accordingly. They had mostly been converted into additional troop transportation, though a few had specialized uses. At the very front and rear of the train, for instance, a pair of identical heavily-armored ram-like contraptions were visible. Somewhat akin to cow catchers, yet taking up the entirety of each car. Massive blocks of sharp-edged metal, they were good for more than just ramming. Their internals were almost entirely taken up by the kind of mechanisms one would usually see in heavy-duty mining rigs - with a certain amount of hydraulics, they could open up into monstrous jaw-like structures, capable of literally chewing through most obstacles and obstructions, and depositing their crushed remains off the side of the tracks.

Overall, the train now sported eighteen gun-cars, eleven troop cars, five transport cars, two ram cars and two "layer" cars. An additional extension to the engine housed several turbines, powering the newly-installed electronic systems and kinetic batteries. Most of the cars were also redesigned with an important detail in mind - the ability to comfortably hold an attached Koschei unit atop the roof, using a system of integrated attachment points. This allowed for the transportation of thirty four units in total, though only thirty would be employed.

YIV Bogatyr
Philid Docks

While the train was being modified, Rasputin was by no means sitting idle. He had spent the past few days preparing plans of action, mapping out points of enemy resistance, and compiling all the intelligence he had available on the state of Uvoan into something actually usable by his troops. Now, a great hurdle awaited. Expolia was not so much a fortified city as a city-sized fortress. Uvoanian artillery could probably make a dent in the walls, and Yeglan artillery could bypass them entirely. But the enemy had artillery of their own, and plenty of it. And the Yeglan armaments would need spotters on-site - getting past six meters of concrete was no easy task for practically any military unit. So then, if going through was infeasible, one had to find a way around...

One of the window-screens in Rasputin's study showed a top-down view of the city. Vedogon was already proving itself a useful asset. Now, if one compared height measurements for varying points along the wall...

The Vozhd stopped. He panned over to the eastern edge of the city - the dockyards, and their accompanying defenses. Grabbing a stylus, he started sketching a few lines over the image. Something was beginning to take shape - a vague notion of angles and vectors. Not quite a plan of attack, but the beginnings of one.

For the past few weeks, humid radiation had embraced the Caribbean. The tropic, equatorial summer had thus far extended well into June. The dragging weeks would surely have caused attrition among the ranks of the native European forces, especially on the Knights Mare Nostrum frontier.

But in the night of the 23rd, a sudden, violent, and malevolent storm swept the islands; causing high tides on the shoreline whilst further inland, trees were turned into debris. Soil turned to mud. Roads to the Asian Military Command satellite base transformed into thick slog.

In the sea, the Pan-Asiatic Navy had spent weeks pouring over battle plans, scouring Kafairian and Knights Mare Nostrum supply lines. The reserve fleet had arrived much earlier, but had waited for the right moment to strike. Much of the fleet moved around the Caribbean at a constant speed, jumping from island to island in order to refuel. Thus far, the reserve Battleships and Battlecruisers had only provided short, shattering artillery barrages against Kafairian troops by the shoreline; hitting targets then swiftly sortieing with the main fleet in order to escape detention.

In the cover of the crashing thunder and the grey clouds which approached the archipelago, their go-signal was transmitted. One violent, symmetrical strike would echo the reinforced fleets' presence all throughout the Caribbean. For in the time they had been given, the Pan-Asiatic fleet had successfully been able to plot the routes of convoys used by the Knights and Kafair to transport valuable supplies like food and ammunition. The two armies had landed thousands upon thousands of troops already, meaning an operation like this would be a critical blow to their vitality. The People's Maritime Army had moved its units clandestinely to hijack those lines of supply once and for all.

On the Western coast, the P.A.S Type BBGK-086A Qing-Class Battleship Mao Zedong led a contingent of warships to obliterate Knights Mare Nostrum supplies, where it would surely be a total surprise attack. On the Eastern coast, the Type BBGK-097A Zhou-Class Battleship Ho Chi Minh prepared a much larger seafaring army to destroy not only the Kafairian supply convoys, but the fleet that accompanied landing units weeks earlier, now surely guarding the convoys as well.

Kafairian Frontier
Image
"We have nothing to fear from these... unpredictable Kafairians. Yeah they broke through our beach defenses. So what? We're dug-in deep. These Kafairians are simply boys who think that war is like the Janissary with his musket and sword. They do not know war is now the conflict of smoke stacks—a combat of the driving wheel and engine, of the Armored Sentinel, of splintered steel and toxic gas in melted lungs. When we dug these trenches we dug not dirt alone but legs, arms, skulls, helmets, all the debris of this mighty struggle. This is reality of what they now face.", echoed the voice of Datu Songkram Tayvihane, the Laotian commander of the 31st "Crucible" Shock Division over the radios of Pan-Asiatic soldiers fighting everywhere on the Skyhookedian archipelago.

The Pan-Asiatic Army utilized defense in-depth tactics designed to lure the Kafairian Army into a much deeper trap further inland. After the final stand by E Company of the valiant 11th, the Sultan's men marched victorious into the forests of Skyhooked, unaware of the deadly defenses that were now in place. No more were the reckless suicide-charges they had encountered on day one. Now, calculated soft attacks struck fear into the bravest of men.

The first few days of the Kafairian advance saw empty roads, as a general retreat had been put in order. Many of the Pan-Asiatic soldiers, in panic, had left valuable equipment such as Heavy Machine Guns, ammunition stores, and fuel stores. Small settlements and resorts were completely barren of any defenders. During the day, everything seemed tranquil. But come the night, and Pan-Asiatic bombers began a savage incendiary bombing campaign. The island paradise of Skyhooked turned abyssal. Large troop deployments by the Kafairian Army made airborne bombing extremely effective, especially with the aid of daytime spotters.

Spotting for the Air Force were boys of around 20 to 25, who would mark targets with an invisible laser then flee. These targets included anything and everything, from cafes which Kafairian officers would use for solemnity, to rallying-points used to organize enemy infantry contingents.

A decryption effort by the Babaylan of the Pan-Asiatic Army had also been in effect. Radios left by dead Kafairians were reverse-engineered, and knowledge of enemy troop movement became vital to the war effort.

Snipers of the 30th Pan-Asiatic Frontier Infantry Division became terrors in the night, but rockstars on the homefront. News of their exploits was propagandified by state media, and it became a game among veterans to rack-up kills. GSS-19 Scout Sniper Rifles were etched to count them.

The terrain ahead was heavily fortified. The mud gave attackers a much harder time at coordination, but the static defenders rejoiced. A network of trenches and underground bunkers covered the landscape, but the main strategy of Pan-Asiatic forces was now to lure the enemy into the seaside villas and compounds of rural Skyhooked in order to more easily encircle them. The debris of the urbanized terrain also forced any mechanized or cavalry Kafairian infantry to dismount. Every house was barricaded. Every room was guarded. Some were even rigged to explode with dynamite. If you opened the wrong door, tripwire could set-off the trap and you'd be dead in seconds.

In the thick forest were lines upon lines of barbed wire and tunnel, as well as layer upon layer of minefields. Going around the minefields often entailed going down a road protected by snipers and machine-gun nests. Pan-Asiatic infantrymen and Sentinels alike would pop-out of the dirt and open-fire on the Kafairians, just as they do on the Knights Mare Nostrum front. As the weeks went by, engineers also began to dig a network of communication tunnels for easy troop transportation and navigation.

As in the sea, Shock Troopers and partisan companies focused on devastating supply lines. Even on captured territory, Pan-Asiatic soldiers snuck behind bushes with rocket-propelled guns on thier backs, awaiting deliveries. The whole of the Pan-Asiatic army wanted to starve the enemy into a retreat. The Skyhookedian-Asiatic army did not have the numbers needed to match the Kafairian army, but they had the guts, the tactics, and knowledge of the battlefield to help them achieve victory.

On some fronts however, the intention to lure was very evident. Entire roads were purposefully left unguarded, allowing for the enemy to blitz right through them. Small sections were designed to fall, for reasons yet unknown to the enemy. But to the Pan-Asiatic Army, everything was on schedule.

Rapture City

  • In the underwater city, two roles have emerged from the City's ongoing civil war: the City Monitors who defend the peace and the Red Caps who fight against unjust systems. The city's infrastructure is crumbling under its own weight and kinship is snuffed by the paranoia of totalitarianism. Yet the people would be in for a surprise as their virtual overlord have died many years ago as the oppression continues under his name...
  • Not an 1-1 exact replica of Bioshock lore and Rapture City. Only the city's atmosphere and setting is maintained.

Skyhooked
Image
The stalemate on both the Knights' and Kafairian fronts continued. With Kafairian soldiers now on Skyhookedian shores, the war had devolved into a war of attrition. The People's Maritime Army continued to create short, sneaking, cautious strikes against enemy supply convoys; significantly crippling the crusading forces' ability to operate on the mainland. A hungry and thirsty invading army was forced to scour the land itself for food and water, hunting local game and cutting bamboo to survive. Without the sustenance they so badly needed, a major operation on the crusaders' part would be catastrophic.

The satellite headquarters of the Pan-Asiatic States Armed Forces in the region had long since been evacuated deeper into the central island. Roads on the mainland had also been re-routed to mislead the invaders. A long network of underground trenches and tunnels now served as the PASAF's headquarters. A complex communications network kept the leaders of the Pan-Asiatic contingent updated regarding the state of the war, when and where to move if deemed necessary. This now meant that it would be nearly impossible to locate and destroy the Pan-Asiatic States' command in Skyhooked. It took time, but stalling was one of the expertise of the Pan-Asiatic Army. They had done it during the Pacific Wars, and many of the leaders of the army were in fact veterans of it; thus they could effectively implement it as it was then.

Reinforcing the ranks of the ground army, on the aggressors' part, would also prove fruitless. Pan-Asiatic submarines ravaged the hulls of the Kafairian Navy relentlessly and with brutal efficiency. The Maritime Army was constantly on the move to avoid detection. Every mission was a search-and-destroy mission. The PASAF hoped that they could deplete Kafair's military numbers enough to force them to withdraw, but the tides of Kafairian crusaders continued to flow.

The battle-hardened People's Air Force, on the other hand, did not let-up on their task to protect the atrocious defenses below. Air superiority continued to rest in the defenders' hands, and night raids were deadly. Asian Bombers were not the most precise, nor the most durable of aircraft variants; but the damage they dealt was deadly. The night-time horizon of the azure, once every other day, was ablaze with the incendiary red flames of Asian anger, pride, and spirit.

However, even the Asians were experiencing the toll of the war. Bullets were expensive, and took time to manufacture. Therein also stood the adversary of Kafair's own Navy, which ravaged Asian convoys themselves. Taking advantage of the continued air superiority of the Pan-Asiatic States in the region, the Daimyō-Heneral ordered supply and reinforcement airlifts to support the thousands of defenders protecting every inch of Skyhookedian soil. But alas, this too, costed much coordination and resources in order to execute properly. At best, the Asians could stall the war and occasionally deal damage. But they didn't want nor need to prolong the conflict. They needed it to end in victory.

For this reason, the Secretary-General, Commander-in-Chief of the Pan-Asiatic States Armed Forces, spent the past few weeks organizing his military cabinet to work on a solution to force an immediate withdrawal of either Kafair or the Knights Mare Nostrum from the war in Skyhooked.

SPEAKING: Secretary-General Guanyu Abramovich Jr. of the Pan-Asiatic States

"Soldiers, heroes, comrades! Today you are about to embark on a crusade far greater than a holy one. You are about to enter into the annals of history itself. Victory here will mean, not just a victory for the combined armies of the Skyhookedian and Pan-Asiatic peoples, but victory for all oppressed peoples everywhere! Let us show these savages the fury of Orientalism. Let victory today be a catalyst of change. As your fathers did before you, today you fight for the Revolution!"

Cayman Islands
On the small set of islands South of the central Skyhookedian islands, several lightweight Pan-Asiatic 155mm VA-9 divisional field guns, along with a handful of Anti-Aircraft SAMs, had been airlifted in secret throughout the past three weeks of the stalemate. Yet alongside them were, assembled only recently, five sets of remote-operated short-range ballistic missiles. The 66th Airborne Spotter Company, 71st Airborne Infantry Company, and 72nd Airborne Infantry Company had set-up shop in the region weeks before the 14th, originally to maintain and secure the site, then to begin the construction of the makeshift silos, and now to unleash hell upon the crusader fleet.

Loaded with heavily-combustible rare earth Sakuradite minerals, the highly experimental missiles were designed to jam naval frequencies and create an artificial storm surge. The 155mm artillery pieces would lead the crusading fleet to the Cayman set of islands by disrupting supply-sectors (as the Asians had been doing for the past couple of weeks anyway) then detonate what could potentially totally and unerringly end the offensive in Skyhooked.

On the night of the 14th, having located a nearby supply convoy, the first few artillery shots emerged from the Cayman Islands, penetrating and sinking a Kafairian cargo ship. The long hunt had begun.

The Atlantic
Image
Two Pan-Asiatic fleets diverged from their course, one headed for the Mediterranean whilst the other headed for Northern Europe. Having snuck their way through miles of Ocean undetected, their magnificent intercontinental journey had finally come to an end.

Grey ships bearing the gold and red honors of the Pan-Asiatic States began to descend upon two very different horizons. Emerging from grey clouds and stormy seas, the fully-armed and ready Pride of the Pacific prepared for combat. Nearly the entire might of the Special Forces Unit were aboard these vessels, bold Marines and Airborne personnel with only attrition in mind. They had been training for weeks, plunging bayonets into dummy Rapturians and Knights. Their gunpowder was fresh, dry, and left unscathed by the long journey. Their eyes were full of determination and hatred.

Many weeks ago, the Rapture Republic had launched a weapon of mass destruction which showed the unrelenting mercilessness of the crusader forces; an aggressive blow that had wiped-out an entire block of Urumqi's peaceful market district. They had awakened a Black Dragon. When footage of daughterless mothers began airing on Asian television, when the sheer carnage of the hit appeared everywhere, it sparked a unique hearth into the spirit of Asians across the Federation. Thousands heeded the trumpet of war, and those thousands were hungry for retribution. Sailors, airmen, and riflemen made final checks to their equipment.

The independent offensive being staged in the Caribbean, while well-coordinated in its own right, was designed to lure the attention of Rapturian and Knight military officials elsewhere. With a majority of the enemy's forces in the distant frontline, the Pan-Asiatic military hoped for the element of surprise in obliterating crusader city-centers and industrial might on the homefront.

By nature, the relatively small and reduced Pan-Asiatic contingent in the Atlantic was as such to evade detection. Their objective was not to occupy, since, after all, it was an occupation which they had been attempting to deter. Their primary objective was to cause as much damage as they could to Crusader ports and civilian life, just as they had in the month prior.

The quick offensive would, they hoped, break all enemy supply routes on both the giving and receiving end of the offensive, permanently crippling the crusaders' ability to even reinforce their frontline.

On the night of the 14th, the vessels went dark. Assuming an initial nonchalant response, the Pan-Asiatic States' first move was to traverse the airspace of Rapture and Malta with a coordinated stealth bombing-run. By dawn, the combined fleets were expected to have 'crossed the Rubicon' of crusader territories, and launch an all-out assault of the two nations' capitals in the shadow of massive ballistic missile offenses on the Navy's part.

The best of the best were now in the air. The stars of Europe were blackened by the approach of the mighty People's Air Force.

Situation Room
AMC Central Mission Control
Neo-Manila, Tagalog Soviet Socialist Republic
Third Day of Operation Sea Gypsy

Image
The situation room, a wide and decorative bunker filled with portraits of various Communist heroes and figures, was flooded by top-ranking military officials. At the center of the majestic congregation was the Secretary-General himself, the de jure Chairman Executive, speaking from a tall podium in front of the crowd. Surrounding the Federation's topmost military leader were the members of the Asian Military Command's High Council: First-Ranked Elected AMC Vice-Chairman Naval Großadmiral Qiu "Magdalena" Hanying; Second-Ranked Elected AMC Vice-Chairman Air Force 5-Star General Muto Sachio III and of course, the Commissary of Army Marshals Zhang Youxia.

Standing in attention to them were various military officials, coordinators, and rapporteurs. Almost half of the Military Command itself were present, a minority of the Federal Congress. Whoever was not present physically were on the line, listening from afar through virtual connections.

A gavel was banged. All who were present paid respect to the rolled-down flag of the Pan-Asiatic States, the Oriental Standard. The Secretary-General spoke through a skimpy microphone as two tall, middle-aged men in Naval officers' attire entered from the back of the room:

"Recognizing the presence of Kataas-taasang Almirante (Großadmiral) Hwang Min-Soo and Zhou Chang, Flotilla-Commander and Special Naval Intelligence Rapporteur to Operation Sea Gypsy, respectively; hear, hear."

Those who were present, in chorus, echoed the Secretary-General's remark.

"Hear, hear."

Großadmiral Hwang took the Secretary-General's place at the podium, whilst Rapporteur Zhou shadowed his presence. As the Naval Commander spoke, a representative hologram appeared behind him. The Special Rapporteur took care of the visuals, and also handed the Großadmiral his transcript of the briefing.

"Ladies and gentlemen of this body, warm greetings. Before I begin, I'm obliged to remind you that all information presented to your herewith should remain in the confines of this bunker. An authorized dispatch will be forwarded to your respective offices at a later time.

Oplan Badjao, or as you capital personnel have taken to calling it, Operation Sea Gypsy, is progressing smoothly. Our attack has begun on schedule. 2 days ago, the 9th Bomber Battalion initiated their devastating attacks on Malta, followed by a sweeping parallel barrage on the City-State of Rapture by the 8th.

The fate of the Atlantic theater is yet to be decided. Our Naval casualties remain undetermined, and our succeeding aerial attacks have met heavy resistance. Urban defenses within the enemy's indigenous cities have frozen our capabilities to operate against civilian infrastructure. The 3rd and 4th fleet have continued their blockade of Rapture and Malta respectively. Our primary objective now is to target enemy assets leaving the national borders of the crusading countries when possible, but to withdraw when necessary. We expect high numbers of both civilian loss of life on their part, and much maritime attrition on our part. But again, exact numbers are unavailable as of this time.

The 7th and 9th fleet, aided by submarine support from remnants of the 2nd fleet, are continuing their search-and-destroy operations in and around both the Kafairian and Knights Mare Nostrum fronts. They are expected to gradually withdraw by the end of the day in accordance to our Cayman contingency plan.

I have asked Commissariat Gen. Alejandro "Agimat" Aguinaldo, Commander of the Special Forces Unit, to authorize the deployment of the Nusantara Marines on the Carribean front, however, he is yet to get back to me on this request. As it is likely they are deployed elsewhere, we may have to utilize our original plans for pushing the crusader forces out of the central island. The front lines are contracting as it is, though not wholly as you'll see in some sections of this map. Our Armor units remain mostly intact and will also continue their pursuance of guerrilla tactics unless a major offensive is launched by the enemy. As for our infantry section, you'll find a copy of a dossier detailing their fortified positions in an email I have just sent all of you. Our tunnel system remains intact and thus, so does our supply line.

The withdrawal of the 7th and 9th fleets will focus our war-effort on completely severing the enemy's artery for war. We will hit them where it hurts: their food, their ammunition, their fresh water. Our Atlantic fleets will pursue their bombardment, hopefully, until August.

The Crusader nations' peoples believed war to be a farce game played on far-away third world soil, a game without consequences. That is why they falsified their casus belli for this wretched conflict to start. We will show them the err of their willful ignorance. Our ancestors defended the peoples of the Third World in the Pacific Wars, we shall defend them now.

Operation Sea Gypsy has been our most ambitious Naval operation since the beginning of the 21st Century. Never has our Pan-Asiatic Navy coordinated with such extent and expectation since the days of Trotsky. We won then, we shall win again. Make no mistake, this is a gamble. But it is a gamble we must win.

Victory here will spark the triumph of Asian nations against Western nations in this generation. Who wins here will dominate tomorrow's trade and politics.

Let us not fail. Glory to Father Asia!"

The gavel was struck once more. The session was dismissed, and the people dispersed.

The Economic Effects of the Pan-Asiatic States' Intervention In Skyhooked
Caixin Global
July 18th, 2019

At a media briefing before the Secretary-General's speech last July 14th, 2019; State Soviet Sonya Yoon-Sook stated that the Secretary-General's plan for expenditure on the liberation of Skyhooked would entail 5.6 billion PALV (Pan-Asiatic Labor Vouchers) in military expenses and 1 billion PALV in reconstruction and other civilian costs. In the broad landscape of federal spending, those are not huge numbers, though 6.6 billion PALV is more than enough to cover the budgets for all the country's national parks, national forests, historic monuments, protected wetlands and wildlife refuges for half a year. Despite these numbers, a high number of Federal Congressman have cited their wholehearted support for Comrade Abra's offensive in Skyhooked, such as that of Congressman Wan Huo (Shenyang, Second District), who only three days prior to the announcement of Operation Sea Gypsy, personally funded several "Support Our Troops" lobbying campaigns.

What makes the cost issue increasingly sensitive is not just questions about whether it will buy success but also the fact that the new plan's cost will add to a mountain of bills for earlier military and reconstruction efforts with what many see as little or no positive return on the investment.

Some Trotskyists and hardline isolationists, especially fiscal conservatives worried about the deficit, are particularly unhappy because, they say, the State Soviet and the Secretary-General have refused to address the war's impact on the budget in a straightforward way. Instead of including war costs in the regular budget, such as the one the Secretary-General will send to Congress next month, the administration has been asking Congress for emergency-spending bills that short-circuit many of the usual review procedures for appropriating funds.

"Muting and undermining the legitimacy of the congressional role in funding is, I think, undermining to some degree the commitment to the war effort itself," Supreme Commissary Ren Cao said. The administration says its approach is necessary because it is unable to determine what it will need for the war in the coming fiscal year. Critics say that may have been true early in the war but that by now most costs are predictable far in advance.

Last year, Congress approved a provision in the annual defense authorization bill calling on the administration to change course and put its request for war funds in regular spending bills subject to full congressional review. Said Congressman Khun Meaker (Vientiane, Third District): "Neither the Administration nor the Federal Congress [are] (sic) making the tough decisions about how we are going to pay for the ongoing wars. Adding hundreds of billions of labor vouchers that are more conveniently designated as emergency expenditures so they do not have to be budgeted for along with other national priorities... is only making our fiscal problems that much greater."

Supreme Commissary Ren Cao, a strong dissident of the Secretary-General's "warmongering" proposed that Congress block Comrade Abra's new plan by withholding funds. To date, Congress has not used its power of the purse to limit Comrade Abra's prosecution of the war, partly because it doesn't want to seem to deny Pan-Asiatic troops any needed support. "If you cut off funding, you're cutting off support for the troops," said Commissary of Army Marshals Zhang Youxia. "Whether you support the battle they're involved in or not, the vast majority of the Asian public is still very supportive of our troops."

Starting with the Revised National Defense Appropriation enacted a week after the March 25 Uprising, the State Development and Planning Commission figures the Pan-Asiatic States has spent an approximate of 400 billion PALV in international conflicts alone. For fiscal 2019, Congress has so far approved 70 billion PALV. The Secretary-General is expected to ask Congress for 100 billion PALV more. Even if the fighting stopped soon, which few expect, the bills would continue to accumulate as the Ministry of Defense pushed to restore what the war had cost in troops and material.

But despite this, as referenced by the Commissary of Army Marshals, Caixin Global's recent political forecasts have indicated that 89.91% of most Asians support the war in Skyhooked. Perhaps the pathos behind this could best be explained by a statement by Kataas-taasang Almirante (Großadmiral) Hwang Min-Soo released in a transcript yesterday:

"The Crusader nations' peoples believed war to be a farce game played on far-away third world soil, a game without consequences. That is why they falsified their casus belli for this wretched conflict to start. We will show them the err of their willful ignorance. Our ancestors defended the peoples of the Third World in the Pacific Wars, we shall defend them now.

The fleet split, 7 units sailing away. Each was made up of 20 ships, with a small carrier in each, and full of cruisers, destroyers, and in each, 2 subs. These ships sailed out, tasked with reclaiming the supply lines. The landing force which was gearing up for a push, was running low on food. One last fleet than sailed, as the 7 others split up. This was known as Delta Force, made up of 40 supply ships, 10 subs, 15 destroyers, a pair of battleships, and a carrier. This was making a beeline right for Skyhooked, moving to resupply the men.
