Silver Bullet

The Silver Bullet is a brainchild of two former Warwolf operatives. Malcolm Stroker - a young and bitter, yet talented man eluded by the organization's unofficial purpose of combating superhumans, seeing it as a way to get revenge for the loss of his family in the middle of a superhero brawl. Lauris Reiniks - an aged veteran of KGB Spetsgruppa A, carrying decades of experience in fighting superhumans for the glory of the Soviet Union worldwide and turning to Warwolf as a second option after the fall of his homeland. Both of them were assigned to San Diego, and for both of them it was the end of their world.

Lauris lost his job, getting relieved due to the organization's budget cuts. Malcolm lost his trust in Warwolf ever bringing the revenge against the superhuman threat which he desired. The two operatives chose to ignore orders to leave the city and declared a mutiny, seizing as much equipment as they were able, including their seats of power armor, weaponry, and several power suppressors, and went to hiding, with a new goal in mind. On the way, they picked up two more allies, Franklin and Nihal, neither of whom were from Warwolf, but were eluded by Malcolm's stated purpose of the team.

The Silver Bullet style themselves not as heroes, vigilantes, or villains, believing this dichotomy to be nothing but a horror inflicted upon society, and instead declare themselves to be "superhuman killers". Ever since the first superhumans arose and took the mantle of heroes or villains, the world has progressively become a worse place. Their clashes cause untold, catastrophic death and destruction, the most powerful of them are strong enough to destabilize and take over entire nations. And, not only that, but Malcolm sees potential in superhumans to destroy the complete fabric of society. For centuries, nay, millennia, human society was built upon the idea that all humans are equal. Equal before God, equal before the state, or equal before law. Superhumans threaten this fundamental axiom of human society - they simply are not equal, they are greater than humans in all accounts. In them, Malcolm sees the foundations for a future caste of tyrants, of rulers, or oligarchs. As much as they may claim to fight for good or for some fundamental values, the mere nature of their existence puts them above the normal man and, once they realize this fully, they will take advantage of it one day.

The solution to this threat to humanity is to eliminate superhumans entirely, to start a crusade against them and murder each and every one of them in cold blood. Much like silver bullets are the only option against supernatural monsters and their scourge, the Silver Bullet is the only option against the superhuman scourge.

None of the members of Silver Bullet have superpowers, obviously, but make up for it with tactics stemming from the equipment they have at hand. They pick out isolated targets, isolated either naturally or artificially, remove their powers with suppression equipment and eliminate them like any normal human. Each member of Silver Bullet brings something of their own to the table - Lauris is equipped with a set of Warwolf power armor which, if needed, allows him to keep up with superhumans; Malcolm is an expert combatant and a master at preparatory work, calculating for every single possible mistake and procuring equipment accordingly; Franklin is a martial artist and master of several Eastern fighting styles; and Nihal is a combat medic able to keep the rest of the team in shape for their increasingly dangerous missions.

Bio: Vincent was born to a relatively well off family. And while his parents did love their son, the both of them were quite busy with their fancy high paying jobs while he was left to his own devices. It only escalated as he grew older, craving his parents attention. When he never got it, he started acting out. Yelling, screaming, typical attention deprived 6 year old stuff. It helped a little bit, but ultimately just wound up with him getting scolded and punished with little actual parental guidance. It continued as he got older until he started having strange desires after watching a few too many action movies.

Explosive desires. He liked explosions and even saw how they worked. And while he didn't understand what's going on at the time, a few years of puberty and high school science classes made him realize what he loved: things going boom. When his class got to the thermodynamics chapter on his science class, his fascination couldn't be sated. While most of his other grades were mediocre, his science ones exploded as he researched bombs and even started building them with money he "borrowed" from his parents. However, they weren't to last, as Vincent elected to make a bomb unlike any other for his high school science project. As one would expect, it backfired spectacularly. Literally and figuratively. The yield of the bomb was a bit bigger than he expected and he had lost his right arm because of it when he tried to take it to school.

There was a silver lining to it. His parents immediately came to his aid, rushing him to the hospital and remaining by his side during almost his entire recovery. It was quite touching to hear them telling off their respective bosses who demanded to have them come in for whatever work they did. He was out of the hospital within a couple weeks. His parents even paid for him to get a high prosthetic that would allow him to retain the use of his right arm with minimal difficulty. If one would ask him if it was worth it, he would've said that it very much was. Well, it was for awhile.

A few years passed and as tragedy tends to, it struck just as things looked like they were about as good as they ever were. It turned out that his parents work doing less than legal things for what could only assume was some sort of mob or mafia. As such, they had both been killed in a car bomb. The news hit him hard. At first there was silence and then rage. Smash up the house kind of rage, both at his parents and himself for not doing something despite knowing there was very little he could have done to begin with. He spent several days like this until his mind started making connections. Synapses firing and ideas swarming his head for how to get back at the people responsible: Blow them up. Ideas for all kinds of explosives flooded his head.

Without skipping a beat, be went into his father's garage where he kept all the tools. Vince immediately went to work, building bombs using anything he could find. The first few were rough, but they worked. A bomb that sprayed poison gas potent enough to burn a hole through the garage floor. One that had exploded and froze a rather large radius. A smile adorned his face as he worked, building more and more zany bombs, launchers, detonators and bags to carry them all with. His vengeance was going to be loud and visceral. Criminals around the city were going to be sleeping in a pile of rubble. The only problem was actually finding them.

The only thing he had to go off of was some old papers that his dad had in his office. Said office that he was strictly forbidden from entering. At least now he knew why. There were some information on the computer and various papers around detailing plenty of addresses for him to check out and then level with extreme prejudice. Which one he was going to target first was decided via dartboard.

Powers:

• Supernatural Explosives Expertise: Vincent is extraordinarily intelligent when it comes to the creation and deployment of explosives. This allows him to make bombs that can explode into just about anything. Fire, Ice, gravity, ect. It also gives him some basic engineering skills.

Limitations:

• Specialization: While Vincent can mess with most modern tech to some degree, he's no hacker. His specialization is explosives and things that correlate to them. Things like launchers, triggers, timers and basic electronics liek remotes fall into this category.
• Weight and Size: He's a mere mortal, and can only carry as many bombs and weapons as a reasonably fit human could.

[*] Resources: Can't make something outta nothing. Like a nuke without plutonium.
Weaknesses (Reasons why someone could kick their ass):

• Mere Mortal: Guy's only human. A good sock to the jaw will knock him out.
• Not Immune: As his appearance demonstrates he is NOT immune to the effects of his bombs, making him rather weak in close quarters.

Viviana's plan was pretty much the same: take the road trip from NorthCal all the way to San Diego to meet Casi.

Casimir's was just to beat up bad guys as Kabuto all summer long along with hanging out with Icarus sometimes. Nothing really for planning ahead though his sis might have dragged him to vacation somewhere.

Bio: Andrew Donovan grew up the child's of a small time hero. His father utilized a quick wit and a gaseous form to save people in his neighborhood as Mist. Andrew had looked up to him, and strove to be able to reproduce his ideals.

The happiness, as always, was not meant to last. It was not a villain that ended his father's career, or a stray bullet, but instead something as simple as a high fever and overwork. Andrew was 17, and had been working as a sidekick of sorts at the time. However, when the tragedy had struck the boy put away his role and picked up that of hero. That was one year ago.

Now, with little more than hard work he found himself a new recruit to a team he saw as second to his father in terms of heroes. The Los Angeles superhero team known as the Stars, or Nebula. Whilst young and not exactly kind to infrastructure at times, he aimed to prove himself and, by extension, his father's teachings, as both legendary and extraordinary. The upcoming heroes tournament, to him, was just the place.


Powers:

  3) Air walking (Making the atmosphere and gravity that pushes him down keep him up)
  4) Superhuman durability (simply redirects or stops physical force that comes in contact with him)
• [Superhuman senses]: A result of his powers as opposed to a power itself. After zipping around at high speeds for a while, his mind became accustomed to it and sped up a touch
