Dutch "Magnum" Wheeler
Name: Dutch Wheeler.
Alias: Magnum.
Appearance:
Gender: F.
Age: Twenty-four.
Build: 5'3"; 120 lbs.
Powers: God, or whatever deity you believe in, granted Dutch the ability to see the pathway of projectiles -- both for herself and others. Think of it as a laser from the shooter to the target; the projectile will follow the preordained path until it hits something (ricochets are also accounted for). Its activation is conditional, based on hostile intent, currently determined through unknown means. So as long as someone's willing to start shit, it activates. Furthermore, Dutch has exceptional reflexes to take advantage of said ability. Helps that she's a crack shot too.
Weaknesses: The more people trying to shoot at her, the less useful the ability becomes. All those pathways get jumbled together and are impossible to keep track of. Worse, even if she closes her eyes, those lines are still there. Always there until the ability stops itself. Keep it up for a while, and one could become mad from the sight. She's also quite squishy as a fighter, being relatively human. Cut her and she'll bleed; hit her and she'll swell; shoot her and she'll die. Last but not least, she's only as good as the equipment she's given in the offensive department.
Equipment: Armaments are decided on a mission-by-mission basis. Although, she does carry a .44 to keep up her persona.
Allegiance: Team Aegis.
Nationality: American.
Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri.
Sexuality: "Whoevher yees to my haw."
Personality: Evoking the gunslingers of the Spaghetti Western, Dutch's a rugged, down-to-earth type of gal. There's a sprinkle of roguish charm, especially with her disregard of honor when fighting, and a dash of plucky heroism. She ain't going to be sour-and-dour in public. No point in being a super hero if you really are. However, beneath that cowboy veneer, away from prying eyes of the media, she's... more or less the same. Some aspects are played up like her accent, but honesty is important to her. Mama and papa didn't raise a liar. "Whe-yn thuh chips ahr down, sumone 'as ta tell thuh truth." Just a decent person trying to make a decent living.
Motivation: Upholding justice, with a capital j, in the world. And enjoying the fruits of her labor. Who says you can't mix business with pleasure?
Biography: Where to start? The warm sun of the Lou, perhaps? Dutch's quite fond of the area, the look of utter paradise despite the heat and air. She didn't get some of the darker aspects of the area as a child. The irresponsible government, the racial violence, and the crime rate being a list of things she avoided experiencing. As for her parents? Kind, caring folks -- they certainly weren't child abusers. As you can probably tell, life was good. Not a single hint of tragedy would shake her core.
Yet, such a life didn't feel... how to say it, uh... satisfying for her. Her parents weren't that poor but they sure as hell weren't rich. Each time she turned on the television, she saw images of superheroes in all their glory. She grew to want such things and experience such pleasures. Then again, who doesn't? But wanting and getting are two very different things. The first few years, not knowing about her power, was the wanting part. Then, during a small school scuffle, she started getting it. Dutch saw the lines for the first time. Then it all clicked, she knew what she was going to be. The Hero League checked her out and agreed.
She could be useful for them. Both as a hero and a PR godsend. With the amount of money on the table, Dutch saw little to object on. Her time in the academy didn't change her opinion one bit. She made friends, got buffed, and designed her brand. A cowboy with a silly accent but deadly with a gun. Few missions a later, hitting it off with the internet, Team Aegis was a natural destination. What could go wrong?

'The Stanislaus Girl'
Name: ???
Alias: The Stanislaus Girl, Flaming Anomaly, Demon?, Fire Entity, etc
Appearance:
Gender: F?
Age: 13?
Build: Approximately 5'5", with a lanky build. Weight unknown.
Powers: Appears to be either composed of or engulfed in plasma. Seems to be at least hot enough to melt steel wire.
Weaknesses: Unknown
Equipment: None observed
Allegiance: Unknown
Nationality: Unknown
Hometown: Unknown
Sexuality: Unknown
Personality: Seems confused, angry, and stressed. But what is 'she' like when calm? Nobody is quite sure how to calm her down and reason, or if such a thing is even possible. More on news at 11.
Motivation: Unknown
Biography: The first instance of activity in the Stanislaus National Park was in the summer of 2020, known as the Stanislaus Event. Current estimates place the blast in the range of a 100Mt nuclear weapon, based on the blast radius, albeit not comparably radioactive. A 1km radius crater was left behind, with reported of an odd temporal distortion at the centre. The fireball caused widespread fires that were not extinguished for weeks after. The casualty count was 16,208, with an estimated 29,000 injured.
While the crater has been fenced off and loosely guarded on grounds of radiation risks at ground zero, although these government claims have since been proven exaggerated by zealous conspiracy theorists. Although satellite imaging has been blurred, last year images were captured of what seemed to be an unconscious glowing toddler. Only a few days ago, a security breach was recorded. A lone security camera recorded what appeared to be a pinkish white glowing preteen burn through a metal fence. The last sighting of this entity was recorded breaking into an Oakdale gas station, one of numerous recently recorded incidents.

Asia Xu Xiùlán
Name:Asia Xu Xiùlán
Alias: Azure Dragon
Appearance:
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Build: 175cm/5' 7", 60kg
Powers: Asia has two powers; the first is a form of maneuverable flight, capable of 60 mph at full speed while she's airborne and going in a straight line. The second is a forcefield, appearing as a light purple haze around her, capable of blocking any single attack which comes into contact with it. After the attack, no matter the strength, the forcefield 'breaks' and requires five seconds to recharge before it can block another attack.
Weaknesses: Asia's agile and has a strong defensive power; her offence, however, is limited to purely conventional weaponry. She has to be careful with her forcefield and managing it, as many weaker attacks in short succession, like a spray of bullets, or a single continuous attack such as a laser will render her forcefield useless.
Equipment: Walther PK380
Allegiance: Gen Next
Nationality: Hong Kong Chinese
Hometown: Hong Kong
Sexuality: BIsexual
Personality: Asia's an attention seeker; she doesn't care about the type of attention, she wants it. She's friendly, sometimes overly so, energetic with little to no regard for personal space, a show-off, talkative, rather vain and a bit of a glory-seeker, and a surprisingly loyal person under it all. At heart she isn't a violent or aggressive person, but if push comes to shove then she's more than willing to shove back with extreme force.
Motivation: Fame. Asia wants her name and face, or at least her alias, plastered all across the internet.
Biography: Asia is the middle child of a pair of Hong Kong investment bankers; their eldest child was going to follow them into their field, they doted on their youngest while Asia was just left in the middle, left to her own devices and largely ignored. Naturally, as anyone lacking what she believed she deserved, she went out to get it, and in Asia's case, that was attention.
She soon learned that the easiest way to get attention was to be bad; she messed around at school, frequently earning herself all manner of punishments, but not really caring. She found herself the leader of a clique from her attention-seeking ways, only doing the minimum amount of work so her parents wouldn't cut her allowance off. Her powers manifested at the age of 16, but given the government-controlled nature of hero teams in China and their more militaristic orientation, Asia instead concealed her powers, simply pretending they didn't exist.
As fun as flying was, it wasn't worth getting arrested over.
At 18 she left Hong Kong to attend university in America, to be more precise, San Francisco State University. America's less draconian nature in terms of law enforcement and looser gun laws finally allowed Asia a chance to use her power as she became a lone vigilante for a few months, somewhat inspired by X-Band and other local but nonetheless famous vigilantes which eventually led to her being folded into Gen Next shortly after their formation.

CHARACTER FILE

Isaiah Houston
Name: Isaiah Houston
Alias: None yet
Appearance:
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Build: 5' 11", 160lbs
Powers: Channeled strength- While Houston doesn't understand the mechanics of his powers, they allow him to drain kinetic and mechanical energy from his surroundings (or even the motion of the Earth if there isn't anything immediately available) with contact and then store it briefly: his muscles acting as capacitors. He can't sustain his 'charge' and must release it in a single large, or a series of small, rapid bursts. His bursts of immense strength vary depending on how long he is allowed to charge up the attack, but a second or two would allow him to slap a speeding car to the side.
Houston's power allows him to leap great distances at high speeds, but is poorly suited to helping him run much faster than a regular person. This is risky, though, as his powers keep him from being hurt by exertion, but if he doesn't use his powers again to soften his landing, he'll easily break his legs or far worse depending on the distance of the fall. Additionally, bullets and melee attacks are not as easy for him to deal with as he would like. Despite their destructive potential, bullets move too rapidly and carry too little kinetic energy for Houston to effective drain, making them only slightly less-lethal than for a normal person. Actually, they can be more dangerous as he can cause the bullets to slow down and remained lodged in his body instead of exiting. With melee attacks, he can dampen their effects to the relatively longer time of contact, meaning blows from average humans are almost harmless, but hits from speedsters or strength metas will do damage.
The powers can also allow him to lift things sometimes even beyond classically strong metas by gradually increasing his strength during the extent of the exertions. This bypasses his 'charge & release' mechanic by doing both simultaneously. However, if he relaxes, he loses his charge immediately and must start over, meaning he cannot have passive super-strength in any real situation.
Weaknesses: Houston has basic human durability in most circumstances, and needs time to charge up each strike. While his attacks can be immensely powerful, they are slow and leave him vulnerable. Additionally, he is cut off from his main source of kinetic energy if he is airborne, which limits him to using the flow of air and his own momentum as sources for energy.
Equipment: Basic handgun- just in case.
Allegiance: Team Next
Nationality: American
Hometown: Oakland, CA
Sexuality: Straight
Personality: A man seeking redemption trying to do the right thing, Houston is honest and determined, if a bit pessimistic. Doesn't see powers as something that should be abused.
Motivation: Making Oakland a safer place for his daughter and keeping her safe.
Biography: Living somewhere like Oakland isn't what any sane person would call easy. Pressures of all kinds close in, forcing choices most wouldn't have to dream of. Houston's powers made him useful to people who needed muscle and he needed a paycheck. Hitman, eforcer, bodyguard, he didn't car much for the titles or job descriptions, just if he got paid. Still, the corrosion of his morality began to become self-evident. Then everything changed when his daughter was born. Suddenly, he had something more to fight for and care about. He tried to turn his life around, to get away from his life of crime, and almost made it. Almost. Some old creditors came calling, and targeted Houston's daughter as a source of leverage.
He was their puppet, their metahuman weapon until he could pay or fight his way out, and then he ran into Team Next.
