That doesn't mean any religion belongs in every aspect of public life.

Then the Gideons can stick to distributing Bibles in churches.

That was not the point of their organization. What is your objection? are you being forced to read it or even open the drawer?

what harm is it causing you?

No, clearly having a singular book in a room that probably hasn't been touched in 3 months is like having a television play Catholic propaganda for 3 hours straight

Ew. Three months.

That is just bad cleaning.

That is not particularly good. I want my axe murderers... Wait, I do not want axe murderers.

But if I encounter one, I don't think my main concern will be their (ir)religiousness.

Bibles in rooms of Christian-majority nations, Qurans in Muslim nations, Torahs in Israel, yeah, fine.
But all of the books in a nightstand in every country? Nah. This is political correctness. No need for a Qu'ran in a state where there isn't even 1% of Muslims or, vice-versa, for a Bible in a Jeddah suite.

What is good about becoming Christian?

Contentment in life, eternal life after death, and not burning in the hellfire summoned by Frollo. Oh, and being labelled as stupid by Richard Dawkins.

In short, everything.

That doesn't mean any religion belongs in every aspect of public life.

Then the Gideons can stick to distributing Bibles in churches.

Giving Bibles to people who already have them is kind of a waste.

Also it is not being shoved down your throat, if you don’t like it don’t read it, the angels aren’t going to decapitate you for that.

If Darth Dawkins and other atheist authors wish to mass produce and distribute their books to hotels just like Gideons, they may.

Gideons is a private organization giving out books.

I am sure any other similar organization can do so as well.

I don't exactly think there is an organization going around giving away free copies of the Four Books and Five Classics, is there?

Okay. My two cents.

With the number of Christians who respond to perceived fallibilities or downright concerning verses in the Bible with "but you're just not reading it in the right context", I think that alone is enough to outweigh any possible benefit that putting a Bible in a room has. If I am feeling depressed, and decide to open up the book in the dresser to a random point, and I have a roughly equal chance of opening to John 3:16 or Leviticus 20:13, or even Genesis 5:6, then I think there's something wrong with the book.

Maybe they should put self confidence books in there instead.
