Per internal procedures, GenSec has removed Christian Democrats from GenSec for inactivity.

We are all disappointed to have to do this, and we waited longer than we had to in the hope of avoiding an unfortunate vote. But, inactivity cripples team efforts.

We are inviting the nominations of candidates for a replacement. Players who were already nominated when the initial membership was being chosen are still eligible for consideration, if still active. We hope that activity level will be considered in your nominations. Please feel free to repeat past nominations.

It's usually normal practice to ask the people you're nominating, if they're able/willing to do the job you're nominating them for. Just a general pointer.

Well, this is awkward but not unexpected. My decision to return today is entirely coincidental.

I had some real-life issues that arose and that were more important than NationStates. I don't apologize for my prolonged absence. However, for the good of the GA, I should have given notice that I was unable to fulfill my duties so that GenSec could have acted sooner. The private message that I posted around late October was true, but it also omitted a problem affecting my personal life.

We are going to consider all candidates nominated, but I wanted to take a moment and point out that we will not consider personal politics or beliefs in an attempt to balance GenSec politically. We will look specifically for the ability to look beyond those personal beliefs and apply GA rules. We also aren't going to consider the number of nominations dispositive.

I say this because I'm seeing a lot of Right to Life people advocating for UM. Which is fine. We will absolutely consider UM fairly and impartially. But I am concerned that some people might make nominations in the hope of balancing political positions, and I want to dispel the notion now that GenSec considers personal politics, either to balance or skew. We're just looking at activity, familiarity with the ruleset, analytical skills, and ability to work with the team.
