Hulm is a team full of natural talent, and might very well be the best team in the tournament on paper. Even among this pool of talent, Müller sticks out. The forward could very well be the best in the world in his position, and he proved that in the first round match against Texas. Müller scored two great goals, including his beautiful strike from nearly half field.

Help for All in Need!

With the help of several sponsors, The Oghuz Government has begun a program meant to help allies of the nation in times of need. This project is the Village Enrichment Program, targeted at Villages in financially struggling regions. The program will consist of Shipments to an airport in Mogadishu, where trucks will collect the goods and be escorted to the poorest villages in need of supplies. The villagers will also be educated on the wonders of Christ and Coptic churches will be set up in tents.

The program is estimated to cost about 300 Million per year, and the duration of the project is unknown. Several sponsors have also signed up to fund this project and help it become successful. Although quite a few taxpayers in Oghuz are enraged by this use of money, the majority still recognises that helping others may mean Oghuz will have allies in its darkest hours.

Nationality: Asteria
Age: 25
Position: Center Midfielder

Asteria has a roster full of individual talent. Their team chemistry is not as strong, and this was shown when they struggled to get past the American Federation, one of the least talented teams in the tournament. Nevertheless, Asteria advanced, and they owe it almost completely to Alconder. His two goals proved the deciding moments as Asteria won by a single goal. Alconder's individual talent will prove to be an important weapon against Yangaea.

Nationality: Yangaea
Age: 19
Position: Left Midfeilder

Brown was the youngest player to play in the first round, but he does not play like a novice. He had a great game against Sentola, and worked as a constant powerhouse, never slowing down over the entire 120 minute game. He went on to score the winning penalty in the shootout, further evidence that he simply does not get tired. He will have to keep this youthful energy in the next match against Asteria, as Yangaea will need to be focused and alert for the entire match if they want a chance at pulling an upset.

Ghabar on Middle Eastern alliances

Ghabar recognizes that many nations to the east have begun to coordinate in a form of an economic and militaristic alliance. The Afghan, Bengali, and Persian nations to the East of Ghabar are potentially strong allies, but also the Ghabarese council has expressed some concern of the military strength of such an ally due directly east. Ghabar recognizes that as a largely secular nation, it is unique within it's location, and the small size combined with large neighbors does cause us to sweat when military alliances are formed around us. The Ghabar council has expressed interest to all it's allies to potentially design alliances of it's own, to further protect our small yet wealthy nation.

Nationality: Hong Kong
Age: 22
Position: Center Midfielder

Many were surprised at Hong Kong's big upset over Santa Rosa in the first round, but it would never have happened without Yang Li. The young midfielder has a unique ability to read defenders and dribble the ball, and he got himself two crucial goals in that match. If Hong Kong want to see themselves making it past Yahel, Li's performance will be crucial.

Nationality: Yahel
Age: 21
Position: Right Winger

Abdulrahman headed in the game winning goal last match, not an easy feat with such a head of hair. He is young, but he has amazing speed and great passing ability, making him an extremely valuable asset for Yahel on the flanks. He has an inspiring backstory, left orphaned at the age of 16 after the Yahelian Socialist Movement took both of his parents. Despite this tragedy, he persisted and trained and is now one of the best young talents in the world.

A boy of controversy arose when Songjiang requested that women be allowed to play in this year's World Cup. While their request was granted, they are the only team to field any female players. Only one of the three females playing for Songjiang is truly exceptional, and that is Su Xi. She plays well above the level of most of her male teammates, and has since become an international feminist icon.

Age: 28
Position: Forward

Alicia has an extremely solid roster, but two players stuck out in their first game. The veteran Messie connected with the youngster Evo Garcia to make a beautiful goal, and their chemistry continued throughout the match. As team captain, Messie is carrying a lot of weight, but his experience and talent should make it easy for him.

Novoye-2 sitcom 'Covzstanza' pilot a smash hit



Main character 'Giorgi Covzstanza'


Novoye-2 has found a veritable gold mine of ratings following the airing of it's new show this previous Thursday, called 'Covzstanza'. The show is a situational comedy show, or 'sitcom', and revolves around a small cast of characters going through their daily lives. The show gets its name from the main character, 'Giorgi Covzstanza' (played by the actor of the same name), a stand-up comedian living in Daugava City. In the show, Covzstanza lives in an apartment, and is visited by his friends (who make up the other main characters). The show largely revolves around humorous dialogue that addresses what are often considered 'culturally taboo' subjects, making it stand out from the other run-of-the-mill sitcoms that air on the Novoye channel network. The show also stands out due to the fact that the main characters do not always make the right choice, and each of the four episodes which have run thus far have ended with the characters not getting what they wanted. Director Larryi Davzid appeared on Dmitry Today to discuss the show yesterday, and stated he hoped to continue creating the show for at least another season.

An anonymous source at Novoye-2 says that the first four episodes of the show were watched by approximately 18% of the entire nation, making it one of the most watched non-sports broadcasts of all time in Pavlovsk. The show occupies the 8-8:30 time slot (UTC+3), but it seems likely the show maay move onto Novoye-1 during a prime-time time slow soon if it continues to be this popular.

At the 50th National Congress today in Athens, President Varbanov announced that he would be legalizing the ability for citizens to operate small-scale businesses and enterprises. ADK hardliners scolded Varbanov for the liberal decision, while others praised him for reaching a more centrist outlook towards the stagnating economy. President Varbanov supported his decision, stating:

Ever since the Bosporus fiasco with those pesky Turks, the Asterian economy has not quite recovered from the sudden withdrawal of investors. Indeed, it seems the only way to improve our current economic situation is to allow the people a certain degree of control in our country. SANTA ROSA - December 11th was a busy day for President Terence Cola as he met with the leaders of the American Federation, Pavlovsk, and Yahel to discuss the pressing global issues of the day.

The President had an early flight to Puerto Rico yesterday morning to hold talks with American Federation president Eric McCarthy, per McCarthy's request. During the meeting, McCarthy reportedly reaffirmed his commitment to remove ships from the Caribbean Sea, apologized for the escalation, and formed an agreement with President Cola that would keep Santa Rosa in charge of the Panama Canal until January 1, 2000 and release an independent South Barnetia in February of 1995. Additionally, the Federation pledged to hire firms to repair dilapidated Santa Rosan infrastructure in the northwest.

Cowardly Habesha remnants took advantage of the peace time in our country to orchestrate a horrendous attack on both our own citizens and visiting guests from Alicia. Patriarch Buenpensar Tshinga was presiding over the Crystumbomas service, which is a holy day in the Mbali Catholic faith, when the gunman breached through the front doors of the church and opened fire with an assault rifle. The Patriarch was not harmed, though dozens of churchgoers were slain in the panic.

Salvador police chief Ronaldo Pinchez named the suspect in the case as Rudolfo Gitlera, a 26-year-old man from Pedro. Gitlera is in police custody after a brief standoff that ended with him being shot in the leg.

Gitlera is reportedly affiliated with Los Hermanos Blancos, a prominent white supremacist group in Santa Rosa. After raiding his apartment, police found white supremacist paraphernalia, such as manifestos and flags that are commonly associated with hate groups.

President Terence Cola addressed the attack in a televised statement.

"Santa Rosa stands strong against terrorists and terrorism and any attempts to divide our diverse communities," Cola said. "On this holy day for many, we pray for the dead and the wounded."

The Patriarch blamed the stigma against the Mbali Catholic Church and the prominence of racism in Santa Rosan society.

"Many are unwilling to see the Mbali Church as a legitimate representative of a real religion and express their discontent through senseless violence," Tshinga said. "At the same time, people still see black Santa Rosans as second-class citizens or not even people at all. It's just two sides of the same bigoted coin. We will continue to stand strong in the face of adversity."

Balkan Pact and economic reforms!

President Azimov delightedly announced this evening that after a summit with General Marko Đurić of Greater Kosovo and President Tihomir Orešković of Kakanj the three states will be creating a new formal alliance known as the Balkan Pact. It is described to be a political, military, and economic alliance to bring greater power to the smaller nations of the Balkans. When asked directly about what the Balkan Pact was about, President Azimov said

The Balkan Pact is a fantastic example of increasing relations between the nations of the Balkans. The world has often shunned us as being a "powder keg", and this pact is to demolish those stereotypes. The Pact is here to unite the Balkan nations and bring us to a mutual greater future, together. I appreciate the risk Kosovo and Kakanj are taking by leaving the European Council to join our cause, and Asteria will work day and night to make their transition as smooth and risk-free as possible.

There have yet to be responses from the European Council or HLR about their views on the sudden alliance.

In other news, President Azimov has issued a new set of economic reforms. The government has created two state-controlled sovereign wealth funds to control the nation's reserves and act as an investor for Asterian industry. Affirmative action and minimum wage have been abolished in order to increase competitiveness between employers and employees. Asteria has entered a number of trade agreements in order to maximize free trade between itself and other nations. The Economic Development Board has been created in order to supervise the nations economic growth and has started to aggressively attract investors from all countries of the world. The government has stopped privatizing its state-owned industries and has instead removed the limits for how large private enterprises can go. Already the government has started to purchase large stakes in private organizations for profits. All unemployment benefit schemes have been terminated in order to better save money for other government operations. The corporate tax has been reduced to 17%, with reductions and exemptions in order to nurture small business, and has become a single-tier corporate income tax system. Income tax now ranges from 0%-22% with simplified brackets, and there is now a full tax exemption for all income generated outside of Asteria. As for the welfare-state in general, it has been minimized to stoke competition.

In terms of education, the government has considerably increased funding to public schools in order to train highly skilled workers for the new generation. President Azimov has stated his wishes to make Asteria a computing paradise. Extensive infrastructure upgrades are being undertaken in order to increase efficiency.

Even culturally, the government is liberalizing. Instead of oppressing its citizens, the Asterian government is transitioning more to a parental-state, giving its children certain freedoms while making sure the herd doesn't stray too far.

CONSTANTINOPLE, OGHUZ - A new announcement has been made by Sultan Atajak regarding the birth of a cold war between Mbale and its allies and the Ryvokian Commune.

In the midst of Issues, the king addressed Oghuz's stance on the world as of now. Due to our place in the world as both a monarchy and a member of Glascom, we are going to remain a neutral middle ground. However, in order to prevent anything disturbing the peace, a new reform has been implementing allowing only half of the parliament to be aligned, in order to reduce the influence of other nations on Oghuz. This, however, has also delayed the elections to mid-February.

Oghuz will not be withdrawing from Glascom, or any other agreement as of now, and will continue to be the trading partner of every nation in Conflict.
