It's just that playing as Dong Zhuo and Lü Bu kind of hamstrings you since you have to play them as they are popularly remembered, that of a sadistic tyrant and a invincible, fight-happy warrior respectively. Zhang Bao was the middle out of his siblings, which included Zhang Liang, the youngest brother, and Zhang Jiao, the eldest. The three of them were born into poverty, as both of their parents were commoners. All three of them were born in Ningjin County, in Hebei. While Zhang Liang proved to be a confident, if reckless and violent-style man, and Zhang Jiao grew into a remarkable man with such intelligence, Zhang Bao is more or less the balanced one, calmly balancing his emotions as well possessed certain knowledges, though not to the deep level of knowledges like his brother Zhang Jiao. The three of them worked by selling medicines to help people, as their parents died when they were in teenagers-age.

When Zhang Jiao returned from the mountain with the book of knowledge about certain arts, he learned it relentlessly, soon collecting followers who were taught of the same way. The two brothers eventually learned the book, or attempted to, since Zhang Liang abandoned it in the early parts, while Zhang Bao was patient enough to learned till the middle parts. Thus, the three of them have varying degrees of certain arts, which in the later days would be referred to as "chemical warfare."

The followers grew larger, and soon Jiao named the movement as Yellow Turbans, with the unique yellow-colored turbans as a unique mark of the movement. Yellow Turbans is a movement determined to abolishes the Han Dynasty and established the people-based nation, where commoners are the leaders of the nation, and not the aristocrats nor the merchants. Bao was appointed as General of the Earth, in the process.

Has no ability to comprehend others, thinking only of himself and his own goals, others are but tools to be used and discarded.

History (Compulsory)
Bios: Born into a military family in Lintao, there was only ever one path for Dong Zhuo; the military. Doubly so, owing to his skill in shooting from horseback and his own physical strength. But destiny, or so he claims, had greater plans for him. While serving in the Han Army, Dong Zhuo found a bloodstained dagger in the aftermath of a skirmish with the inscription 'slash the kings like logging' faintly visible. Dong Zhuo has kept this knife with him ever since, claiming it to be a good luck charm.

He became a soldier of the Capital Corps of the Han, being transfered there from his previous unit. He served under Zhang Huan in his northern campaign to suppress rebels, and was rewarded magnificently, being given 9,000 rolls of fine silk and a following slew of promotions, county magistrate in Yanmen Commandery, a divisional commandant in Shu Commandery, a Wu and Ji Colonel in the Western Regions, Inspector of Bing Province, and finally Administrator of Hedong Commandery.

His rise, seemingly unstoppable, was briefly halted by a defeat by the Yellow Turbans, but Dong Zhuo knew this setback would not last long for him. Destiny had greater things for him. After a few more minor defeats, Dong Zhuo realised the Han Dynasty's power was waning, and made preparations accordingly. His chance came when his superior ordered him into the capital to depose the eunuchs surrounding the emperor. The coup succeeded, but the situation in the capital was... Tenuous, at best.

So Dong Zhuo deposed the Emperor in favour of his own candidate, murdered the former Emperor and the Empress Dowager, declared himself Chancellor and bullied the Imperial Court into submission through brute force. Upon hearing rumours of an approaching army, Dong Zhuo ordered his troops to raze the Imperial Capital, Luoyang, seize anything of value, pillage the Imperial Tombs and then burn it all and salt the earth for good measure. He fled westwards to Chang'an with his puppet Emperor, and there he remains.

He's hedonistic, taking what he wants, when he wants it, and everyone who tries to get in his way can get out of it or lose it. Has no comprehension of honour or loyalty, being a man governed entirely by impulse, but he's unlikely to bite the hand that feeds him.

As long as he remembers it feeds him, at least.

Bios: Lü Bu first came to prominence as a cavalry commander in the Han Army at Henei Commandery. His service and life prior to this were largely unremarkable, save for his sheer size and skill with weaponry, demonstrated in a few minor actions against bandits. Were it not for the events of the time, however, he likely would have faded into history. But Lü Bu and his cavalry, under Ding Yuan, were ordered by the Dong Zhou to the capital to join his military coup against the eunuchs.

Ding Yuan and Dong Zhou fought over the latter's conduct in the Imperial Court, and Dong Zhou bribed Lü Bu into betraying his superior before he assumed command over Ding Yuan's troops, presenting Dong Zhou with Ding Yuan's head. He led Dong Zhou's rearguard in the flight to Chang'an, seemingly content for now do to as he pleases while nominally owing his loyalties to Dong Zhou.

I think the people of China would have a bit of knowledge of Rome (the Greek city states had pretty much been integrated into the Roman Empire by that point), based on what the Silk Road merchants say. It's just that Greek or Roman democracy in their various styles won't be nearly as popular. Besides, even Rome had become an empire by that point, and well on its way to the Crisis of the Third Century in a few decades.
