BETTER FINALE

Jon kills Danny. Drogon melts Iron Throne and flies away carrying the evidence.
Jon says to Grey Worm Queen Danny has flown back to Dragonstone. You will take half the Unsullied and all the Dothraki to Dragonstone. Lord Hand Tyrion Lannister will command the other half of Unsullied.

Grey Worm leaves. Arya comes out from behind a pillar. Jon comes out, his face is flayed off, he is in huge pain. Arya pulls the face-mask from regular Jon who is NOW Tyrion, Arya puts the face on flayed Jon and Jon is healthy again.

5 years from now, I'm convinced that people will still be finding major plot holes and logical inconsistencies in the finale. It ought to be shown in creative writing class for how not to write a show.

Sure, and right next door in film class they can use it for this too.

Unrelated to my criticism of the writing, but I felt that the scene was too disjointed and transparent. It looked more like something out of 20th century Bolshevik Russia rather than medieval England which the series was based on.

On that note:

While on a separate note, I finally GM/DM/Narrator'd a session of the A Song of Ice and Fire Roleplaying game for a group of five, including 2 total roleplay newbies, and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. It's a fun system with a lot of room for interpretation, although 'chucking lots of dice at things' appears to be the way to win in most scenarios. Going to see if I can get this group to generate a House and some characters (I used the sample characters and scenario from the main book that makes a good one-shot) and take them on campaigns.

So I’ve been watching The Last Kingdom. The writing is around season 1 GoT quality and the time jumps around worse than season 7, but if you need a medieval times show it’s actually quite good

Indeed, Lost Kingdom is quite good, but it is very irritating that King Alfred of Wessex is such a cunt. If Alfred were a clever cunt like Tywin Llanister, then his rise to Glory would make sense within the show. But he is Joffrey.

Ifn history!Alfred were such an irredeemable cunt as show!Alfred, then no-one would have chosen him versus Vikings.

Haven't seen "Last Kingdom" yet (it's on my to-do list though) but he's a total wuss in "Vikings". To those who have seen both shows, how does Last Kingdom compare to Vikings in general?

Through Flanders, Portugal and Spain.

You got a better episode for this season?

Heh, but that episode doesnt have all the cinematic references the finale does. Remember you are appealing to snobs.

Snobs who want to be seen as “artsy” and what’s more “artsy” than a scene that rides solely on the actors’ chemistry and character history?

Seeing how her arc went, she should have. Yeah she got to be Head of the Kings guard, but it would have been better form a story aspect, getting to die a knight.

Lost Kingdom is way better. I ought to love Vikings, it's got Vikings and Ragnarr Lothbrok. I don't know what they did wrong, but I just don't care about the characters.

Her and Jamie should have died together defending winterfell with ned stark's swords.

Btw, after further review. Mrs mermania is full on board with bran is now the blood raven theory. She says upon her further review, it is mostly based on the books and not the series, but she now has jumped on that bandwagon with both feet.
