Superhunted (Superhero RP Reboot) (OOC)

Postby Flarbinia » Mon Jun 03, 2019 2:51 pm

It is the year 2019. R.A.G.N.A.R.O.K, a top secret branch of the Department of Homeland Security and successor to American Superhuman Affairs, is on the hunt for Superheroes and Supervillains, which have existed since World War I, after Durant, Oklahoma was destroyed by an explosion that was covered up as a test to determine how the detonation of a nuclear bomb would affect soil erosion but was actually caused by a fight between five Superheroes and five Supervillains, the goal of this hunt being to kill the Superheroes and Supervillains who are too dangerous to be captured and holding the ones who are not in a secret facility built under Guantanamo Bay. The Superheroes and Supervillains, their ranks decimated by this "Super Hunt", have gone into hiding until the Federal Government decides that R.A.G.N.A.R.O.K hunting "nonexistent Persons" is too expensive and forces them to deal with conventional threats.

Rules
1. I and my Co-Op's words are law. Same goes for Temporary OPs.
2. No Godmodding, Flaming, or Trolling. This is an RP, not your personal soapbox.
3. There is no limit to your characters, however only control as many as you can handle.
4. Your characters are not invincible. They can die, though some are harder to kill than others. You are not required to be either a Superhero or Supervillain if you do not want to. If your character is a member of R.A.G.N.A.R.O.K, that character refers to Superheroes and Supervillians as "nonexistent persons".
5. No one liners.
6. No Mary Sues. You cannot play as dead superheroes and/or Supervillians (this is an RP, not a comic book, so dead characters will stay dead. Time travel is an exception to this rule, but it can only be done once).
7. Control of Superhero/Supervillain teams is reserved for CO-OPs. Superheroes and Supervillains (and their powers) are determined by Category.
8. While a character (player or otherwise) can have the same name as one from a previous RP, they are entirely different characters with different backstories unless the OP decides otherwise. So long as a character APP from a previous RP does not break the rules, it is acceptable.
9. If you are playing as a superhero or Supervillain that has been labeled as deceased, there are three ways to explain their reappearance: being brought into the present via time warp, teleportation from an alternate universe where they are still alive, or resurrection via a rare occult ritual.
10. We have an OOC thread. Please do not make OOC posts in the IC.

Superhero Team: Silver Crusaders

Postby Flarbinia » Mon Jun 03, 2019 2:54 pm

Created during the Cold War by Captain Flight II (a super solider that wore flying power armor during battle) to protect America from Soviet Supervillains, The Silver Crusaders are the only active Superhero team left after the Durant Incident, the majority of the Superheroes being modern ones like Invisible Amazon IV (a woman from an all-female island who can fly, turn invisible, become intangible, has superhuman reflexes and superhuman strength, can create force fields, and owns a lasso that can make people tell the truth. At least, that's the comic book origin created for when Superheroes become public knowledge), Fireballer V (a woman who can breathe fire and throw fireballs), Iron Curtain II (a former Spetsnaz officer who can turn his skin into iron and use magnetism to lift and throw objects), and Inkblot Donar III (a Watchmen fan boy and obsessive compulsive conspiracy theorist turned nineties anti-hero who hides his face behind a "Rorschach mask" and has a technologically advanced hammer that can channel his ability to shot lightning bolts, both of which are passed down from one Inkblot Donar to another upon retirement or death). Currently led by Takeda Oni (a former Yakuza hitman who uses his power to shrink and grow to atone for his past sins and the only Cold War Era Superhero to not be arrested after the Durant Incident), the Silver Crusaders operate out of Odin's Eye, a secret prison on the Moon built by NATO in 1985 to hold captured Soviet Supervillians but was shut down in 1999 due to budget cuts, recruiting any Superheroes they can find in order to protect them from R.A.G.N.A.R.O.K while ensuring that The Silver Crusaders have enough manpower to deal with any Supervillain who endangers public safety.

Supervillain Team: Infernal Hounds

Postby Flarbinia » Mon Jun 03, 2019 2:55 pm

Founded in 1938 by the recently deceased Archduke Laser Von Buzzard (an Eastern European tyrant who can shoot lasers from his eyes and owns a flight suit) to take over the world by any means necessary, the Infernal Hounds, currently led by Red Scare (a retired KGB Agent who has telepathy and uses a gas that causes fear in whoever inhales it to amplify its effect on his enemies), continue their war with the Silver Crusaders while operating out of the Hellmouth, a maximum security prison secretly built on the floor of Pacific Ocean by the Allies in 1944 using reverse engineered technology salvaged from a UFO to hold Axis-Aligned Supervillains but was shut down in 1951 due to tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union. However, in order to ensure that the Infernal Hounds have enough Supervillians to fight the Silver Crusaders, Captain Confederacy V (a States Rights Activist who got injected with a super soldier serum by Nazi Agents in exchange for betraying the United States, an action he regrets) has begun conscripting Supervillians and recruiting Henchmen after the Durant Incident.

Biography (One paragraph minimum): Vincent Bolander was a top recruit by R.A.G.N.A.R.O.K. at age 20. He played second fiddle as an associate agent working cases until his partner got killed in an alley during a gunfight and the culprit got away clean. Ever since his partner's death it has haunted him. However he went on working cases going solo. Till one day a clue turned up at a abandoned apartment that would reopen the case to track down those responsible behind his partner's death. Mostly he spends his days at nearby pub off duty drinking alone. That be said he is a good agent with a soft heart but nothing ever let him down to convince himself to quit as he always had that determination.

Name: Ethanael "Ethan" Davrol

Age: 29

Appearance:
Image

Image

Affiliation: Anti-Hero / Villain

Bio: Ethanael Davrol is a Canadian, but his parents were Finish immigrants. Born in Quebec, he emigrated to the U.S. at age 9 and was like any other student until discovered his abilities at the age of 15, when he accidentally shoved one of his classmates into a wall with his telekinetic abilities. He at first used them to acquire power, not held back by his parents as they both died in a car crash. This thirst for control led him to confront several heroes, including Homme Superior, aswell as to ally with the Bronze Boss. Building up his crime empire, he accumulated countless wealth by the age of 21. In the meantime he perfected the usage of his powers and constructed his power armor. He tho experienced a profound change of heart about 2 years before the Durant incident. This was the direct result of the death of his Sister, Clara, to the hands of Baron Von Buzzard. The tragedy caused him to break almost all ties with the meta-community. Now though, he seeks for revenge against R.A.G.N.A.R.O.K, who he found out were behind the death of his parents. This motive is though hidden, and supplemented by his wish to see an end to the oppression of metahumans.

Category (Power Level): 6

Powers: Levitation and Flight (Telekinesis-assisted), High-Level Telekinesis (includes Pyrokinesis, Cryokinesis, Density Manipulation, Hydrokinesis, Controlled Magnetism and Seismic Manipulation), Heightened Senses, Telepathy, Mind-Control and Resistance to Mind-Control on him.

Non-Metahuman Related assets: Ethanael, due to his upbringing, speaks fluent French, English (duh), Finnish, Karelian and Russian. In school he also learned Spanish and German.

Weaknesses: He is unable to use Mind-Control if using his telekinetic abilities. If removed of his helmet, he is still capable to resist mind control to an extent, but it would drain him and within 2 minutes he'd be unable to resist further. If attacked with any sort of plastic-based weaponry (or non-magnetic metals), his senses can be outrun by multiple opponents (or a speedster). Furthermore he cannot summon Fire, Ice or Water from more than 5 meters away from him. That range jumps to 30 meters for magnetic metals, and, during a storm, is practically limitless with plasma. However he must be at 100% of his ability to gather said plasma, if not it would result in him being straight up struck by lightning.

Likes: Friendship, History, Science, Videogames, Revenge

Dislikes: Stupidity, Arrogance, Pedos and other nasty people, R.A.G.N.A.R.O.K

Name: Henrietta(Etta, for short) "Superstar" Carina

Age: 25

Gender: F

Appearance:
Image
In her Class M forms, Etta possesses glowing red hair. Her hair changes based on its heat, providing an excellent indicator of whether she is safe to touch.

Bio: Unlike most of the Silver Crusaders, Etta's true origins are known only to her, and she rarely mentions her childhood in any meaningful measure. Her origin story, however, is interesting enough that her youth isn't of much comparable interest. Etta was not always a hero, but began as a violent specter, the bringer of destruction to the mountains of Appalachia. Where she came from, no-one is quite sure, but her rampage began in a fiery blast outside of Dollywood. After few flaming months, the Silver Crusaders managed not only to stop, but to subdue the young super. After remaining in custody for almost two years, being trained and disciplined for the duration, the repentant, newly-18 Etta was encouraged to join the team, initially under heavy supervision. Over the years, she's become a trusted member of the Silver Guardians, and one of the most trusted assets in spite of her young age.
Category: 8

Powers:
Starlady

Etta is, put quite plainly, a human star. Gravity, heat, electromagnetism, solar wind—all radiate from Etta.
[b]Light: Like a real star, Etta glows. Her skin has a faint shine to it, and her hair glows. In her base form(Officially referred to as Red Dwarf), her skin shines only faintly, with the most noticeable of it being a constant blush about her. Her hair, meanwhile, glows with the luminosity of an incandescent lightbulb, and reaches a maximum temperature of around 50 celsius(122 Fahrenheit). As she ascends through her forms, her skin and hair begin to glow brighter, with her maximum Blue Hypergiant form reaching blinding luminosities high enough to light up multiple football stadia while her body and hair exude local temperatures in the thousands of Celsius—hot enough to melt all but the most resistant elements in her grasp.
Gravitational Field: Etta can generate a gravitational field around her which functionally emulates radial telekinesis in many ways. Objects that she choose will orbit around her when within a certain range, which varies based on her size and form.
Levitation: Etta can passively levitate up to a few feet off of the ground, mostly useful for not leaving scorch marks on the ground at higher temperatures.
Magnetic Field: Etta's magnetic field is naturally very weak, similar to that of a fridge magnet. By spinning, her field can drastically increase, able to scramble electronics in close range. Her form likewise influences the strength of her
Size Variation: Etta's base height is 5'9", but can drastically vary. At her smallest, in her Brown Dwarf form, she is barely 5'0", while as a hypergiant, she stands at an immense 17'.
Solar Wind: Etta produces a faint 'wind' of charged particles, which essentially means spending too much time embraced by her can give one sunburn. When her heat grows more intense, her 'wind' follows suit, at its most powerful becoming positively deadly. Of course, when she's in a form where her 'wind' is dangerous, being around her is simply dangerous on account of the sheer heat anyway.
Supernova: Objectively her most powerful ability, Etta can go supernova when in her hypergiant and supergiant forms. Doing so delivers an explosion on nuclear scales, and leaves her in bizarre weakened forms and may change her future appearance during the process of exploding. The greatest payload she has delivered was a test preformed in the Sahara Desert during her first years with the Silver Crusaders, with a yield of around 200KT. This left her in her 'neutron star' form, where she was essentially stuck as a searing-hot toddler with a powerful electromagnetic field. Her normal yield(which is still exceptionally rare that she uses) rarely goes above 20KT in payload, and leaves her in her 'white dwarf' form, where she is physically a preteen. She remains mentally the same in her residual forms, albeit physical capabilities may render her unable to communicate. During recovery from going supernova, she re-ages at a rate of approximately 8 months per day, having to undergo any physical changes and growing pains naturally, albeit likewise accelerated.

Weaknesses: The silver bullet for Etta is food. Even in smaller forms, Etta needs immense amounts of food. In her Red Dwarf form alone, she eats 6 full meals each day. As a blue hypergiant, she needs enough food to feed a family. Failure to eat enough and keep herself fueled will send her through the stages of star death, making skipping meals potentially highly dangerous.

Tag. The only thing is, characters here seem like they can get really OP. That isn't a good thing for the rest of us.

Don't worry. The more powerful a character is, the more likely they will face a dangerous opponent.

One more question. What pray tell do you mean in the rules by "No Mary Sues"? I don't understand that reference at all.
