Who was the previous leader of YN?

Postby Adalzica » Sun May 26, 2019 6:18 pm

Who was the previous leader of your nation? How are they remembered today and in comparison to the current leader?

The previous head of government of Adalzica was Irei Tohtosbil, a democratic socialist from the People's Liberal Party. He was elected in 107 L.E. (2008), and throughout his 7 years of leadership introduced several unpopular policies among the significant religious conservative members of the country. These included heavier restrictions on the powers of the monarch, increased social services, and increased secularisation of the government and country. In addition, he was impeached two years into his second five-year term, after he was indicted on charges of sexual offenses. Nowadays, because of this, he is seen in a negative light by both those the left and right-wing, even if many on the left considered some or most of his policies beneficial. His failings in the eyes of the people caused many to be disillusioned with the democratic system and thus he played a significant part in the rise of the National Action Party and eventually William Roony's dictatorship.

The previous leader was Rocky Walboba and he served as the prime minister between the late 90's to late 2000's. Rocky presided over the liberal party and campaigned on change. During his campaign he promised that he will end poverty, stopped engagin in wars, lower taxes for everyone except the rich and increase social spending for the old, disabled, unhealthy, and the poor. After 2 years, things seem really good and his poll numbers rose and grew with coinciding with the stock market index BORO, FINNESE, and SECT rising at a record high since before Merle Abott's tenure. However things starting to change as in the 2000's the deputy party leader was involved in a scandal which involved in the illegal transfer of financial funds from the government used to pay for a illicit Borovan Intelligence Agency operation to assist fascist reactionary troops soldiers against communists in the New Nicaraguas so the fascist conservative reactionary leader Jose Guerrero Alguerez IV who supports free market capitalism and hates socialism and would enact a terror regime against socialist smpathizers and socialists would maybe coup against Jay ALvarez the controversially democratically elected leader who supports state communism that promosed to engage in hostilities against nations richer than the third world countries in that region.

More difficulties came as the administration began giving bribes to police officials to relax law enforcement to pursue a 'fair treatment to minorities' but it ended up making officers lazy and encouraged bribe culture and the administration refused to tighten the their rein on law enforcement. And as a result there were less accountability under the Justice Department, encouraging a noticiable uptick in crime. There were also corrupt dealings where as ministers and other high officials in government were either being paid money or election donations by gangs in return to ignore drug dealings and other influential people in business, government, or education to look the other way. This however did not get in to the media press until very late in which his popularilty lose a lot paving way for Alex Chung's bid for election in the early 2010's in a non party ticket.

Kaiserin Karoline von Klinkowström, well know for her very long reign of 63 years, she was also one of the few who became Kaiserin, only two others have occurred in our history. Within the nation she was known as an extremely accomplished politician, while not actually a politician she handled them very well, having great intellect and a silver tongue. Her administrative abilities where also second to none, handling bureaucracy very well. She even in her long rule managed to get a lot done, laws put in place and so on by working closely with both houses and lawmakers. She was well liked home and abroad by other leaders for her savvy diplomancy. She had a rather no nonsense attitude about her, which despite her relatively small stature made her kind of intimidating and imposing. Making even the largest of men wither under her gaze. Near the end it was joked she was immortal having struck a deal with the Gods. Alas all good things must come to an end, and she passed away couple years ago at the ripe old age of 96.

The previous Prime Minister of Aikoland was Sa Min-Su, who was in office from 2058 until 2072. Her Government began by attempting to halt or otherwise delay reforms passed by the Labor-LibDem coalition government which preceded it, and it succeeded in some aspects; successfully nullifying legislation passed by the Labor-LibDem Government to increase the maximum income tax rate to 30% by 2075. However, the later years of her Government were marked by scandal involving inappropriate usage of government funds by members of the Cabinet. While Min-Su herself was absolved of any involvement in the scandal, she announced her resignation as Leader of the Conservative Party two months prior to the then-upcoming 2072 General Election. Due to the close proximity of her resignation as party leader to the General Election, Min-Su remained in office until the election occurred, when she was succeeded by current Prime Minister and Leader of the Conservative Party, Song Eun-Bi.

President John Henry Eden was the previous leader of the Enclave, who was then (very shortly) supplanted by Col. Augustus Autumn. After the latter's death at the Jefferson Memorial, our current leader, Gordon Hexator, took control. His rule over the entire Enclave only lasted around a few weeks, and then the Enclave fragmented once again after the battle of Adams AFB. Then, current leader assumed control over the Montana faction and has been running the show for years already. However, if you extend his current authority to that of the entire Enclave, it is contested between him and another major, yet smaller, Enclave faction run by a man known as Frisar that isn't too far away. Besides Frisar's Enclave, the rest of the Enclave is scattered into small bands that are simply trying to survive in both California and the Capital Wasteland.

Anneliese Wescott

CEO of Alenium Inc, Wescott was Prime Oligarch of Blanjiland from 2000-2014, ending early with her resignation and retirement due to health related issues. Wescott was the premier of the Corporation League, and was known for her deregulation of the energy industry and her lift of the immigration ban on Swadenians and Poles (a ban which had been in place since 1908). Despite this act, Wescott took a hardline attitude on Communism, and in 2001, signed the North Atlantic Treaty with the Keepo Republic. During the Cuthonian War of Independence in 2006, Wescott provided aid to the fledgling state and was behind the largely controversial 2008 Black Ops mission that saw the execution of several prominent Soviet and Swadenian generals active in Cuthon, which heightened tensions between Blanjiland and Swaden to points not seen since 1912.

In present day, Wescott is remembered as a fairly average Head of State, however her lack of reform and belligerence towards the Communist International left a bad taste in many voters, leading to the more moderate party under Blanjipan Tirole (party: Tirole Movement) to defeat her successor Peter Van Doorn in 2014 and again in 2018. After the 50-Day War however, many have begun to idolize her for her role in the establishment of the NSTO, and her illegal activities during the Cuthon Crisis generally overlooked due to the necessity of the buffer state.

The previous Chancellor of Germany was Bernhard von Weißenberg. He was born on June 7, 1948. Elected in 2004, Count W. was the first son of the decorated Second Great War General (of Swedish descent), Ulf von Wartenberg, and the second Weißenberg to be a noble. His own sons, Wilhelm and Oliver, both fought in the Civil War, while Bernhard served as the Provisional German Government's State Secretary of Finance. To this end, he was a highly efficient logistician and administrator, and made sure that the wartime economy ran smoothly and citizens remained well-fed. However, the chaos of the wartime situation also enabled Weißenberg to develop the belief that informal connections and bribery could be used and even abused to get a job done quicker, and he never let go of that belief. After winning in the upset 2004 election with the German Conservative Party, he'd started applying this theory of governance quite extensively, leaving a modest yet telling trail of bodies on the few occasions he'd risked getting caught. Count W.'s activities were noted by the Emperor, Friedrich V, who was for the first several years unable to gather any hard evidence and as such did not dare get on his case for fear of accusations of bias; However, a slip-up regarding military funding in 2013 ended up with the Chancellor barely being able to cover up his corruption, and the war hero Manfred von Blume, who was the most invested in investigating the affair, was almost killed in the process. A second scandal in 2018 regarding the passage of a mass surveillance law finally caused the Chancellor to fall from grace as even his own government cut ties.
Weißenberg is regarded in Germany as an average leader in general and is revered in Africa due to his party's strong advocacy for full statehood and voting rights for Germany's remaining colonial holdings; His deeds before Chancellorship are also remembered quite fondly. His unscrupulous methods, however, have been disavowed and condemned by everybody and their mother. The 2018 case in particular, which involved blackmail and bribery alike, caused tremendous political shifts, and even the initial ripple of change has not faded yet.

The previous German Emperor (This office has since been renamed Emperor of the Germans) was Ludwig V of Hohenzollern. Born on February 4, 1956, he was the son of Emperor Ludwig Ferdinand I, and, in accordance with his father's wishes, was given a civil rather than military education. In his youth, Ludwig was quite popular, and he occupied several notable posts in the Imperial Office for Finance. However, this all changed in 1992: After the communist Rudolf Honecker came to power, he was sneered at by newly-hired leftist government officials, and his whole family was harassed by the Red Front troopers associated with the Chancellor. His father was assassinated in 1994, and what followed was an Armed Forces coup of the government in which Ludwig was compelled to take part, as the Communist head of government blocked his succession rights. The War and the events leading up to it broke Ludwig, to the point where he spiraled into a depression and lost much of his self-confidence; In fact, even though the coup's initiator, Manfred von Blume, legitimately didn't want any power or prestige, the newly-crowned Emperor Ludwig ended up bestowing him with many honors and never questioning or confronting him personally, giving many people the false impression of a military dictatorship forming. Only the strong guidance of Chancellor Max von Mendelhayn (Weißenberg's predecessor) was able to make Germany look and feel like a nation with a civil government again. Dying from a heart attack in 2001, this Emperor's only real accomplishment was the establishment of a Crown (Not national, mind; simply based on the Imperial Family's vast finances) Health Service, which provided health insurance and service to people whose previous amenities were swept away in the Civil War.

President Rudolph Nieweiler, born in Theede (Rathenia), of 1930-vintage, was the President of the Federation from 1996 to his passing in 2002. He succeeded General Rikkert Thurgau, who was the interim leader after Marie Seelscheid's assassination in 1994. Like all Presidents, Nieweiler came to power by being appointed by the Meritocratic Council. With his age and experience, Nieweiler was less of a keen lawmaker and more of an advisor and commander - the latter especially due to the crisis the Federation experienced in the mid-1990s, when domestic terrorism was way more of a threat than one can imagine today. Under his rule, the national security apparatus got extended to a more modern level, Cold War era technology and equipment systematically being replaced by new one. This also included a more modernized plan for new challenges the law enforcement was confronted with - he, therefore, also gave a lot of advice to the according authorities of the federal states.
From a 2019 perspective, Nieweiler is much remembered as the man who prepared homeland security for the 21st century, taking action to show strength in lieu of trying to perform major policy shifts. Thus, he also is not considered the more sociable guy closer to the people, unlike his successor Silas Flemming (or also Seelscheid, for that matter) - who, however, indeed did have the resources to start off left thanks to Nieweiler's work. Both are considered important leaders tidying up messes from the past.
Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

Claude Fresceau was the previous Executive Secritary of the Federation serving from 2017 to mid 2018. He became ES after the Catholic Labour Union Assosiation left the Maeniclin over disagreements regarding taxes. They refused to join a coalition, becoming a cross bench party and allowed the opposition to elect Fresceau as ES. However he too lost support after the Green Alliance dissolved and he was only able to negotiate terms with the newly formed Red-Green Coalition. President Shcherbina then dissolved the Congress in order to force elections. Fresceau's New Democracy Party saw a staggering defeat losing 1/3rd of its seats. While it was still the largest party by number of seats its coalition partners lacked the numbers to form a stable coalition. Édorie Bargrac of the Liberal Party was able to forum a coalition after the election and thus succeeded him as Executive Secritary.

Emperor イザナギ (Izanagi) was the previous head of the Imperial Family between the years 56 Teikoku and 147 Teikoku. His reign was cut short by his daughter during the Two Day War. He is seen as the one that caused the Kitsune to fall from their position of power, and the cause of the Two Day War. Today he is remembered as the one who brought destruction to the Forever Empire, and caused its collapse, and is shamed by the general populace.

The previous head of state was King Nile I. He was the first king of the current house of Spiros that is on the throne of Ieskarios. He was a third cousin of his predecessor, King Amon VI of the Helikaros dynasty. Nile I recently passed away on February 12, 2018, being succeeded by his eldest son, the current King Michael I.

The previous head of government was Damianos Katsimanis, an unpopular but effective leader of the Ieskari Democratic Society. His sudden death sparked a snap election that saw the victory of the popular candidiate of the Traditionalist Party, the incumbent Ioannes Pelagius.

The previous Talsjarl (ᛏᚨᛚᛋᛃᚨᚱᛚ) of Varagr was Jón Benediktsson, leading from 1989 until his death in 2011 by heart-attack. Jón was a member of the Vandsveinnflokkurinn as required by law. He is fondly remembered by most Varagrians for completely eliminating reliance on the international economy, a feat he promised in his Innanverđur program shortly after he assumed power.

He succeeded his father, Benedikt Sigurðursson after he ascended to the heavens following a natural death. One of the main distinctions between Benediktsson and Sigurðursson was Jón's general lack of public appearance. Contrary to Benedikt's outgoing nature, Jón secluded himself in the August Temple during most of his reign, and seldom held public rallies, also quite distinct to Benedikt, who held large, exuberant and extravagant rallies and speeches every week.

Chiang Kai-shek led our nations' predecessor, the Republic of China. He ruled from October 10, 1928 to December 1945, when he was assassinated by Chinese Communist Party agents. Emperor Haruto's predecessor was Emperor Kaito (1902-2002).

Although Emperor Kaito's achievements require an entire book to list, one notable thing during the transition following Kaito's death was that the Imperial Family skipped two generations to crown the young Haruto.

Kaito reigned from 1920 to 2002.

Our previous leader was Joe Clark, the 12th President of the Allied States.

After losing his bid for re-election, Clark decided to retire from politics and return to his home in Portsmouth.

Clark helped usher in Universal Health Care to the Allied States, but suffered politically due to implementation of "Clark Care."

Clark lost narrowly in the last election to Joe Rutherford. Rutherford is the first Conservative to be President in nearly two decades.

When the queen was asked this question (who was the true ruler during your mother's rule?) a while back, she gave this answer: Oh it was my mother. She was a very smart woman. When I was 5 she sat me down and said it was my turn to rule. I would tell her what I want, and she would carry out my whim. Whatever I wanted in the whole wide world! She died last fall, a very evil man killed her. I had the man gutted like a fish and his intestines strung around the palace wall like christmas lights. SO PRETTY! I'm the queen now, and the nation is even better!

Our previous Prime Minister was Reginald D. McFatton, Jr. of the Gandoor Communist Party, who was in office from 2006 until 2018, serving for the maximum of two six-year terms. McFatton was also the leader of the Gandoor Communist Party from 2005 until 2017.

McFatton, Jr. is known for being the son of Reginald D. McFatton, Sr., who served as our seventh Prime Minister from 1976 until 1982 (although unlike his son, the senior McFatton was a member of the New Democratic Party) and for being the first Prime Minister to be in office for more than one term since Rebecca Miyamoto, who served as our eighth Prime Minister from 1982 until 1994.

During his twelve years in office, McFatton helped Gandoor recover from the Gandoor Economic Shock, which began during his predecessor, Akane Sasaki's time in office and helped repair Gandoor-US relations when Barack Obama became POTUS after the significant downturn in relations during the Bush administration between both countries.

The previous President of the Central Committee was Thomas Mountain of the New Labour Party. He was OK, making sure most citizens had what they needed and avoiding scandals for the most part.

John Price (2017-18), an unremarkable bloke who ended up resigning after an ill-fated but elaborate attempt to send out body doubles to represent Tinhampton on an eternally-doomed measure to introduce universal emergency services to Transarid - combined with then-Military Minister Saffron Howard's decision to lead Tinhampton into a war to coup Mexico socialista, which they never did because they arrived late to the negotiating table despite coming within 25 miles of Mexico City - led to his resignation. Hence why Ms Howard is now Mayor.

Our previous President was Mickey Chang. In the role of President, he was much like the current President Fish - because there isn't really any role for the President to play unless there is an impasse in Parliament and there almost never is. Mr. Chang is best remembered as Prime Minister for eight non-consecutive terms (or nine, depending on how you do the math) and as a popular author of history and fiction.

Our previous Prime Minister was Harlan Escrow, who left politics to take his present job as Chancellor of Fatatatutti University (FU) and Director of the Manned Spaceflight Center. He was only Prime Minister for a short time; he is best remembered as Fatatatutti's irascible Foreign Minister.

General Castro-Stalina has no predecessor in her role as head of Air-Mobile Command because the position was created especially for her.

Alphonse has always been Alphonse and probably always will be.
