Recognising The Skeleton Army as the self-declared "greatest raider region,"

Bowing down to their mighty leader, the Warrior Skeleton Queen of Ramazakal,

Noting that their fearless armies of the undead are renowned for conquering regions under the cover of darkness,

Aware that this is a fate that has befallen such prominent regions as Texas, The West Pacific, The Rejected Realms, and The Cuckoos Egg,

Surprised to learn that The Skeleton Army never causes harm to the regions it invades and instead prefers to mingle with the natives, steal food from their barbecues, and attempt to drink beer - with hilarious results,

Appreciating The Skeleton Army's generous supply of sticky ribs to the regions it conquers,

Acknowledging that all that The Skeleton Army requires from its defeated enemies is for them to sign the Thighbone of Surrender,

Believing that these novel and unique military tactics are far superior to the conventional varieties,

Desiring that other regions follow their example,

Thusly Commends The Skeleton Army.

This is something I've been hoping to submit for months. I started drafting it on TSC's forums back in January, but it kind of died off. Above is the current draft - I'm still not sure it does them justice, but I'm hoping that by posting this here, I can get some input from others, and motivate myself to finish it off.

I did have a dilemna about whether to commend them (as above) or condemn them (as a fearsome raider group), but in the end went for the commendation.

A little bit of background - The Skeleton Army is the funniest raider group around. They've been in NationStates for several years, and their method of 'raiding' is to move some non-WA nations to the target region, and then post on the RMB claiming to have taken it over. I don't think that description really does them justice - their invasions are absolutely hilarious, and generally enjoyed by all involved - especially the 'invaded' region.

Rule 4 killed this when I wanted to submit it back in May - not the fact it violates the rule, just the fact that the SC was entirely dominated by arguments about Rule 4, and I didn't want this proposal shot down in the midst of that.

I started thinking about it again a week ago - initially, I was unsure about pursuing it, as I'd got a bit of flak from a member of TSA over the whole Anatolia affair, which anyone who follows the raider/defender game will remember. Anyhow, I've decided to go ahead with it, as I realised that the region still is one of the funniest & most unique ones out there in NS, and really deserves recognition for the humour it spreads when it invades regions.

So, I'm fairly happy with the current draft, and will be submitting soon, but will hold off to allow for any suggested amendments that people want to make.

I haven't been active enough in NS the last couple of months to know of one from them, but I've contacted TSA to see if they can name a couple of more recent examples.

Added in The West Pacific as well as The Cuckoos Egg as examples of more recent invasions. I'm not going to put [region] links in the proposal when submitted, as there's obviously no evidence remaining on the RMBs of the invasions, so it wouldn't really contribute anything to it.

I'll be submitting this alongside Commend Ananke, just waiting on a telegram from someone before I do that.

The East Pacific would be totally for the Skeleton Army's commendation. Also because there was some confusion last time the Army 'raided' TEP we did not sign the thigh bone of surrender, they are welcome to come back and demand that we do so. (because it was hilarious regardless)

"Kind" seems strange in where it's placed. Use it if you want to. It doesn't necessarily make sense describing "supply," but I know what you mean when you include it.

Let me get this straight, commending a raider region because they raid only for fun and not for ruining other players region??? Well, i think we can support it, i mean the whole "take them as good example" seems ok for me.

Yeah, the key thing is that they don't use WA nations - so they don't try and take the delegacy/eject nations, which is what conventional raiders do. Its more of an 'RP invasion' of a region, though they move their nations there.
