Just a note, reminder to everyone that this is - of course - an orchestral edition of the contest! Elements of the orchestra should be used, but please don't feel forced to send a song which is 100% orchestral!

I will be scanning through the songs very soon and replying to everyone's entries!

CBC announced that despite the poor result last time, they will participate in the 46th World Hit Festival in Polumsec. This time, the offer was made to Pita Fanene, a Togonistani vocalist who also represented Mercedini at the 39th World Hit Festival as part of CONGRUENCE. My song has the following instruments: mandolin, double bass, vocals, guitar, floor tom, accordion, and tambourine. would that fall under an orchestral theme?

(I should've saved my WorldVision entry for this, it would've been perfect.)

Vhe Qí to represent Britonisea at WHF46!

Vhe Qí to represent Britonisea at special orchestra 46th edition of WHF!

Image
Britonisea's hopes lies with Vhe Qí: Britonisea's tenth participation in a row will be a song called "Dangerously In Love" by Arçonne artist, Vhe Qí.

LISTEN TO THE SONG HERE

In what has been billed to be Britonisea's most explorative and out-there move at the World Hit Festival, Vhe Qí reassures everyone that he will make the nation proud.

For what will be the anniversary since Britonish TV Producer took the reigns of the World Hit Festival, his country are sending an entry which "doesn't align with the ordinary vision of the nation". Britonisea is sending Vhe Qí, a relatively unknown artist, to the contest with a big song which is bound to gain some attention across borders. Coming off of the rock-pop sent at the 45th World Hit Festival - where Britonisea placed 4th with 27 points - it seems as though some elements have persisted in this entry - Britonisea's 26th.

Here is an excerpt;

I'm your puppet on a string,
Use me 'till my strings snap-ap-ap-ap-ap
Then you'll think of me and - snap! - you'll realise
You can't live without me.

So take advantage of me,
I know I'll have the last la-la-la-la-laugh.
I enjoy the pain, it makes your eyes glow gold.
I'm dangerously in...oh I'm in love.

As the song had been released at the stroke of midnight in Britonisea, only few have heard it. We will wait a couple of days to see whether it will make any impact in the charts.

Hey! I've had a couple of listens to your song and I'm not sure as to whether I can accept the song, unfortunately. The orchestral instruments don't play a large part of the song to make it "qualify" as such.

Yes, though, your WV entry would've been fine and you can still use it here :-)

Full update maybe tomorrow.

To be honest, I don't really have a song other than that that fits the mood of the song, as it's a song about a poor man who murders his landlord (not in graphic detail, though. Most Amuaplyean entries are meant to be rather dark, though.), and is meant to sound like it's several decades older that it is.

Accepted Entries

Postby Britonisea » Thu May 23, 2019 12:17 pm

Accepted Entries
Here is a list of nations that have signed up to the World Hit Festival 46. You can find, on separate lists below, whether your tune is acceptable for the orchestral edition of WHF.
  • Everyone (20)
  • Vartugia

Accepted Tunes
  • Elam - song composed of orchestral elements alongside non-orchestral elements.
  • Britonisea - song composed of orchestral elements alongside non-orchestral (such as e.guitar, drumkit) elements.
  • Cleaca - song composed of orchestral elements alone
  • Darkmania - song composed of orchestral elements alone
  • Estogium - song composed of orchestral elements alone
  • Fatiman Federation - song composed of orchestral elements alone
  • Izmedu (National Final) - song mostly composed of orchestral elements alone
  • Llalta - song composed of orchestral elements alone
  • Loulan - song composed of piano alone, acoustic
  • Natanya - song composed of orchestral and modern elements
  • Normandy and Picardy - song composed of orchestral elements alone
  • Pan Asiatic States - song composed of orchestral elements alongside non-orchestral elements.
  • Todlichebujoku - song composed of orchestral and modern elements
  • Teesdexia - song composed of orchestral elements alone
  • Togonistan - song composed of orchestral elements alone

Rejected Tunes
  • Astoria - The song has almost no orchestral elements, most sounds are computer generated.
  • Amuaplye - After consultation with the host, we have agreed that whilst there are live elements, the orchestral elements are insufficient to participate at the 46th World Hit Festival as they do not take a leading role in the song.
  • The SM Store - The song has almost no orchestral elements, most sounds are computer generated. In addition, one might find it hard to write lyrics to a song that is in reverse. Please revise this decision.

Pending Tunes
  • New Juan Carlos Land - Song has orchestral elements, but further discussion will be had to see whether the entry will be accepted - especially comparing it to the Accepted Songs.

The three songs in the super final of VodiFest 62 had just been performed and the voting lines are now closed. All of the televotes and domestic jury votes are in, with Tihomir, MEDUSA, and Matej all standing on the stage in one line. All three were understandably looking nervous, as this had been the first time in many years that all 3 had respectively appeared in the top 3 of VodiFest. For Tihomir and Matej, that numbered in the decades. For MEDUSA, this was her first time in the top 3 altogether. With the additional stakes of representing Izmedu in the World Hit Festival and following up on Dejan Mlakar's victory, the pressure couldn't be any higher for these three. Ominous tension music began to play as the cameras returned back to the host, Toni Tomic being the one to let them know of their eventual fates.

Toni: Alright, it's time to find out who placed 3rd. Are we all ready?

Toni began to open an envelope given to him that contained the result. He nodded at what the envelope said and looked over at the three.

Toni: Coming in 3rd place is... MEDUSA!

The crowd cheered heavily for her. Considering her extremely long absence from Izmeduan music in general, this was a result she could go home with her head held high. She would then hang back, waving to the cameras and the audience with a slight eccentricity that she was traditionally known for. It was now down to two... Tihomir Lasjak and Matej Soric. A renowned, critically-acclaimed poet-singer and former VodiFest winner versus an Izmeduan legend who is enjoying a late career resurgence.

Toni: Now, it's down to two. So, we got a package deal incoming. One of you winning this is gonna go onto represent us in the World Hit Festival. No pressure, right?

Tihomir and Matej looked at Toni with their respective, if incredibly nervous smiles. The two stood side-by-side, awaiting their fate.

Toni: Okay, it's time to reveal the winner. The winner of the 62nd edition of VodiFest is...

Matej Soric - Oprosti mi

Toni: Čestitam! Čestitam Matej!

Matej was locked in a tight hug from Tihomir, who looked absolutely bewildered and in shock. Even moreso when the trophy was wheeled out on the stage. He took it gingerly, raising it up into the air. Matej Soric had done it, he had won his very first VodiFest after multiple attempts at the title, and his name would now be emblazoned upon the record books.

Alongside this was now the right to represent Izmedu in the 46th World Hit Festival, one that he was most happy to accept. His next stop? Polumisec, Izmedu.

(1) Matej Soric - Oprosti mi | Jury: 42.86% | Televote: 37.97% | TOTAL: 40.41%
(2) Tihomir Lasjak - Racuadamo se đar | Jury: 31.43% | Televote: 37.88% | TOTAL: 34.66%
(3) MEDUSA - La igla | Jury: 25.71% | Televote: 24.15% | TOTAL: 24.93%
