Started Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. Going great so far. It had been idly standing in the bookcase, I'm sorry that I couldn't begin reading it earlier.
When I write, I don't have an accent.

I'm inthe same boat. I buy books, then I don't have time to read them all.

The Spy Who Came in From the Cold by John le Carré, again.
'A distinction is made in private life between what a man thinks and says of himself and what he really is and does. In historical struggles one must make a still sharper distinction between the phrases and fantasies of the parties and their real organisation and real interests, between their conception of themselves and what they really are.'

Monday the Rabbi Took Off by Harry Kemelman.

It is the fourth book in a mystery series. In this book, the eponymous rabbi goes to Israel. I'm more than a third through the book and no one hasn't been murdered yet. I'm disappointed.

Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. Loaned to me by a friend like most of the books I've read recently but I just bought a pile of books today.

THE MOST GLORIOUS EMPIRE OF SATTERTHWAITE

Factbook (under construction)
A hereditary nigh-absolute left-leaning monarchy with an easily dissolvable parliamentary system. Sometimes "socialist", most of the time just a welfare state. Atheistic, but tolerant of religions (sometimes). Insanely high taxes. Emperor above all. Vive l'Empereur !

Basically a benevolent dictatorship, but don't tell anyone that.

Against my better judgement, I am reading a Star Wars novel. They managed to make space battles boring, which I feel like you could blame on the medium but actually it is totally the author's fault for focusing on the wrong things.

Also, I'm listening to Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James, which is really good and really confusing and really gay in a really macho way.

If you are looking for good space battles in novels, I heartily recommend the Honor Harrington series.

The Devil to Pay: The Story of Alice & Petronilla by Hugh Fitzgerald Ryan, a local-ish author. Its a historical novel about the first witch burnings in Ireland.
