The year is 1888 - You have just purchased (or won, or hired to work, or simply sneaked aboard) a ticket to sail aboard the luxury transoceanic liner, The RMS Caloris the pride of Kuronami's civilian maritime service. What experiences will you have aboard this grand liner as you set sail on the long journey over a vast ocean? Are you an adventurer looking for new lands to explore? Are you a captain of industry wanting some leisure time? A wealthy noble, socialite or aristocrat traveling abroad the first time to the grand Kuronami Empire. Did you stowaway in hopes of a free ride? You could be a sailor in need of work or an immigrant looking for a new life. Maybe you're a criminal up to no good or on the run from the long arm of the law, a spy hoping to get some dirt on the Empire's scandalous secrets. The choices are yours.
But alas there are still rules and guidelines on what to expect and what to do or not do:
This is mostly a character RP so don't expect any real state business. Given this is a historical RP I'm sure we all want to be mindful of each other's canon. I'm flexible on tech a little bit but keep it within reason of late 19th century to early 20th century tech.
-This is a character based RP more than anything else so while you may find high society traveling aboard don't expect business on holiday. You can play pretty much anything you like as a passenger or crew. If you are playing crew I most likely will play captain but if you have a really good captain pitch for me, I might hand it over and play other officers instead. You are welcome to as many characters are you like. This ship is heading to Kuronami and if you'd like to offer a port of origin to set off from, let me know.
-If you are playing someone nefarious, don't do anything foolish like instantly sabotage the ship or sink it. Hazards are to be expected on long ocean voyages for sure but this isn't Die Hard on a boat!
-Criminal activity is okay but be sure you get permission before anything serious against any other player or one of my characters. I'm always adaptable to ideas.
-Goes without saying but remember to keep it PG-13.
-Racial and gender policies is up to your nation's canon at the time.
-Weapons such as a small pistol, sword or knife are okay. Don't expect to smuggle aboard a Gatling Gun Remember to keep violence within reason and always ask permission before actually killing anyone.
-Human and Humanoid species only. NO Magic.
-Don't worry the ship WON'T sink. Might have some white knuckle moments.
-I don't expect perfection or the most lavish of posts but do put effort into them.
-For now everything is open but I hope to be able to cover all aspects of ship life so if I get too many crew or first class apps I will start cutting things off.
-Anything else I can think of can be asked about or addressed later.
