Cricket Season 3:

After playing one season under the T20 format and one season under the One Day format, Seraxinbourgh decided to adopt both formats of the sport and to have 2 different versions of the league running.

The T20 league would continue with the 8 teams that it currently has but each team would play 14 games instead of 21 games like they currently do and to make up for these 7 lost games, a new One Day league is being introduced that contains 12 teams split into 2 groups of 6 teams each. The teams in this new league would play 10 games with the team who came in first in both groups being crowned the champions of their group whilst the team who came in last in their group, like the team who finishes last of the T20 league from now on, would be relegated to the Regional Championships.

T20 Championship Table:

Welcome to the first-ever edition of domestic List A cricket in Damukuni, the Damukuni State Cricket Championships! Cricket associations from Damukuni's 22 states formulate teams and march to the pitches in a swat for the ages!
Stage 1
All 22 states play in a single round-robin. 2-1-0 system. The table-toppers receive the Directors' Trophy.
Stage 2
  • FSCA League: The C.D.F.A.S. (Free States) compete in a double round-robin tournament. The top 4 teams at the halfway point play single-elimination. A system similar to Championship Points are used:
    FINISH 1H 2H
    1st 10 **
    2nd 7 10
    3rd 4 8
    4th 2 5
The 1st place finisher of the 2nd half receives the Free States Cricket Trophy and they along with the next highest by points, along with the Gauntlet winner, advance to Stage 3.
  • Non-Mainland Cricket Championship: The 5 Sonnel States and Islana Lunigo play a double-round robin tournament, after which a Page-McIntyre Best-of-5 system playoff is used. The 2 finalists advance. The Winner receives the Non-Mainland Champions' Trophy.
  • Damukuni Regional Championship: Terribly named, this consists of the states not in the other regional leagues. A double round-robin is played, followed by an MLB-style playoff. If teams are tied by win percentage at the end, the tied sides play an extra match. The 2 finalists, plus either the regular-season champion (if they didn't play in the final) or the next-highest team by statistics, advance. The winner receives the Regional Championship Trophy.
Stage 3
The last 8 teams are placed into pots and drawn into 2 groups. A double round-robin is played.
Final Stage
The top 2 teams in each group play A1-B2, B1-A2 in a Best-of-7 playoff, with the winners advancing to a final Best-of-7 (the Grand Final). The winner of the Grand Final receives the BCCD Champions' Trophy.
President's Exhibition Game
If the BCCD Champions' Trophy winner is not the Directors' Trophy winner, those two sides play a match for the President's Trophy. If they are the same team, both trophies are awarded at the end of the Grand Final.

Champions' League Twenty20
Tempala CC and the Zebras combination team were the first squads to take to the field in the new year. The Zebras participation in the Champions' League Twenty20 would be their last as a combined team, as Hendricks City CC and Tim City CC would compete separately following the conclusion of the competition. Winston van der Zee batted admirably for the Zebras, but the team came up well short in the group stage, finishing last among the eight teams in the Champions' Path after winning just four in fourteen. Tempala meanwhile finished third out of nine teams in the Non-Champions' Path, winning nine out of their sixteen matches. That set up a quarterfinal meeting with Lodgertia, the champions of Eastfield Lodge's Imperial Commonwealth T20. The match came down to the final ball, with Halle Sidsel smashing the ball for six to give Tempala the victory by three wickets.

Another Eastfielder opponent awaited in the Semifinals, this time in the form of Pontifucia. After Pontifucia was limited to just 120 runs from 17.4 overs via excellent bowling, Tempala needed only 15.5 overs to chase down the low target. Once again, although the urgency and tension from the previous match was absent, it was Sidsel who went for six on the final delivery to clinch victory. Misei City Tourist Trappers, the Hinodejin champions (not than anyone cares), were Tempala's opponents in the Final. The Atarashii-Damushuto International Stadium was packed full for the matchup. Once again, Sidsel was the hero, smashing this third game winning six of the knock-outs to give Tempala their first Champions' League Twenty20 victory. Tempala's victory is Darmen's first title in the competition and marks the third straight season a Darmeni team has reached the final.

List A Trophy
Chuckio CC started their List A campaign off with a bang, scoring 404 runs against their Brham CC opponents. That total would stand as the highest innings total for the entire season until the final matchday of the league phase, when it was bested by three teams, all from the Intermediate Group. Hendricks City CC scored 405 (their second 400+ innings of the season), Brady City CC scored 447 and Southern Coast CC scored a massive 453. Overall, run scoring was up considerably compared to last year when Darmeni List A matches consisted for forty eight-ball overs. Brady City CC, as champions, and Hendricks City CC, as runners-up, not only qualified to the playoffs but gained promotion as well. Meanwhile, Tilden CC walked away from the List A season with the unfortunately superlative of having the lowest innings total: 65 all out in just 15.1 overs against Hendricks City. Tilden was however able to avoid relegation, a fate which instead fell to Chippewa Valley CC.

In the Elite Groups, Chuckio emerged as the best team in the South and Chad City CC as the best team in the North. Each won six of their eight matches. Cosmopolitans, Johnho CC and Springfield CC were the next best teams to qualify to the playoffs, each with records of 5-3. Sterling City CC and Pisuvar CC were the relegated sides.

The Quarterfinals were dominated by the higher ranked sides from the Elite Groups; neither the two sides from the Intermediate Group nor the Minor Group champions Windsor CC would really challenge their opponents. Johnho defeated Springfield by four wickets with three balls remaining in the closest of the four matches. The Semifinals were far more competitive, with Johnho upsetting Chuckio with a two wicket victory. In the other match, Chad City's bowlers defended well, holding Cosmopolitans 30 runs short of a victory. The final then was hosted by Chad City, but they were unable to execute the chase and fell to Johnho by 20 runs.

First-Class Trophy
Last season, three teams recorded an innings total in excess of 700 runs. Vogler City CC blasted past that marker on its way to a behemoth innings of 1,037 runs in 172.5 overs against Cosmopolitans. Captain Máel Sechlainn Brice scored 486 and middle-order batsman Otto Escarrà 234* to lead the individual batsmen. While the innings will go down as one of the all-time greatest, Vogler City's captain took some flack from local fans who felt he should have declared when his team had reached 700 and gone for the victory. Instead the match ended in a draw, the teams each receiving three points while Cosmopolitans picked up two bonus points for having the lead after the first-innings.

Even with the dropped points against Cosmopolitans, Vogler City still edged out Augusta CC and Cosmopolitans for the top spot in the Elite Group standings. Vogler City and Cosmopolitans completed their seasons undefeated, the first time any club has accomplished that feat since the league stage expanded from six matches to eight. Tempala and Springfield rounded out the top five in the Elite Group, leaving Augusta as the only team to advance to the playoffs from among the southern teams. Johnho, who reached the Quarterfinals last season, finished second to last and were relegated along with Tim City.

Replacing them among the Elite teams and advancing to the playoffs as well were Intermediate Group leaders Windsor and Brham. Eau Claire CC failed to return to the Elite Group after their relegation last season, missing out on going up by seven points. Southern Coast avoided being relegated to the Minor Group by finishing just two points ahead of Liverpool CC. Perhaps next season they'll be able to follow in Tilden's footsteps and earn promotion immediately after being relegated, as Tilden dominated the team's in the Minor Group to return to the Intermediate Group and the playoffs.

Just as it did last year, the playoffs served up some juicy cricket, with multiple teams winning upsets in the Quarterfinals. Among the higher seeded teams playing at home, only Augusta won their opening playoff match, winning by eight wickets on the morning of day four. The match between Tempala and Springfield ended before the fourth day could begin, with Springfield winning by four wickets in a low scoring affair. Windsor won their Quarterfinal match against Cosmopolitans by nine wickets after the Cosmopolitans bowlers gave up 424 runs in the first innings and their batsmen couldn't manage any more than 503 in their two innings combined. For Cosmopolitans, the loss is their second in a row to an Intermediate club in the Quarterfinals. Minor Group leaders Tilden traveled south to face Elite Group leaders Vogler City and eked out a slimmest of victories with just a single wicket remaining at the end. Upper Township CC did the same thing last season against Johnho, meaning next season's Elite Group leaders will need to be careful to avoid making it a threepeat for the Minor Group leaders.

The semifinals saw some excellent batsman-friendly cricket, so much so that the bowlers struggled to take wickets and both matches ended in draws. In the matchup between Augusta and Tilden, the Minor Group leaders advanced on first-innings lead. Despite having a 36 run lead (but only five wickets remaining) when play drew to a close, Preston Tasse's decision to declare Augusta's innings over on 523/3 was the deciding factor, as Tilden responded with an innings of 534 all out to lead by 11 after the first-innings. The other match was also decided by first-innings scores, although this time it was a more clear cut decision as Springfield's 399 all out easily trumped Windsor's 298 all out.

Those results set up the First-Class Trophy Final to be held in Springfield. Despite a sizable lead for Tilden following the first-innings, Springfield, led by an Adelmar Droit second-innings' century, overcame the deficit to win a seven wicket victory and claim their first title in Darmeni domestic first-class cricket.

T10 League
The T10 League's second season saw it expanded from six contestants to eight and although Liverpool emerged from the league stage with a record of 5-1, better than any other team, it would be Brady City who would emerge as champions. The Darmeni Cricket Board drew criticism from Liverpool supporters that the playoffs had been hosted in Brady City, but Brady City supporters were quick to point out that the Liverpudlians had had home advantage during the entirety of the league stage.

DCB Twenty20 Tournament
Gone is the arduous fourteen match group stage of the T20 Blast. In its place, a short, quick, burst of just five T20 matches in the newly formatted DCB Twenty20 Tournament. The top first-class teams, Springfield and Tilden, were among the best in their groups and qualified for the playoffs. Some surprising qualifiers were also produced: Eau Claire and Nauti CC were to have been relegated before the new format was decided on, but both teams qualified to the playoffs after avoiding the drop. The four other quarter-finalists were: Brham, Chuckio, Hendricks City and Southern Coast.

The four group winners had home field advantage in the Quarterfinals and each put it to good use emerging victorious in their opening contests, most doing so in comfortable fashion. The match between Brham and Nauti was the only match that finished with any amount of tension. The Semifinals saw a rematch between Springfield and Tilden, Springfield once again playing at home. The first-class champions won the match by three wickets with 2.1 overs remaining. Down south, Brham was unable to chase down Chuckio's total of 177, finishing on just 141.

Chuckio hosted the final, facing a confident team in Springfield that had already won a domestic cricket title just a month before. After posting 163/9 in 20 overs, Springfield began their chase needing 8.2 runs per over. As he had in the First-class Final, Adelmar Droit led the way for Springfield, scoring 74 runs off 36 deliveries to lead his team to a two wicket victory. Springfield are just the second team to win two domestic titles in the same season, Chad City (then known as Maidenhead County) did so in 2037 winning the List A and T20 titles.

According to The Alliance T20 League Preview and Season 1:

Lisander/Alice Bay (LCB) qualifiers:
Newport Dragons (LCB)
Casterwill (LCB)

NOTICE:
Lisander and Alice Bay are members of LCB, just like England and Wales are members of ECB. Since the qualifiers are two teams from different nations but the same association, I can't see this as a multiassociational league. To avoid misunderstandings, I decided to add a neutral trigramme.
The Principality of Lisander, a sports loving, very highly developed nation in Astyria.
Disappointing people and missing deadlines since 2013.

"Quarterfinals..." A man mutters a line from his newspaper, dropping his monocle on the floor, a small crashing sound coming out as a result of him rushing out of his chair. "...BLASTED SODDING BUMS!"
Image
"Cricket. Cricket never changes."
A new season of cricket has arrived at the Hinodejin Empire. People still care so little about it that nobody realized that they should've finished the season before registration for the international tournament (which I already forgot the name of) would close up. Six teams join last season's twelve, including the very first outer space cricket clubs in all of the multiverse but the level of play remains rather poor.

ACORN FAMILY FREEDOM FIGHTERS
Hometown: Mobotroshima, The Hinodejin Outerplanetary Dependency of Mobius
Colours: Blue, White and Red

Before bowing to Hinodejin authority, the planet of Mobius was ruled by a group known as the House of Acorn. A meeting with the Hinodejin ambassadors... and more specifically, the ambassador's massive sword made them bow out from the throne and let their planet be integrated into the Hinodejin space domains. Maybe inspired by the Kensingtonians, they chose to start their own cricket club... despite not knowing how it is played, but that never stopped Hinodejin cricket teams in the past, why would it now?

BIG BOLLOCKS BRAND CC
Hometown: Fifi, Kanteshima
Colours: Neon Green, Black and Gold

LaStephen Bollock would've been a pretty unknown name in the Hinodejin Empire until he insisted that his five sons LaMatthew, LaJohn, LaBrian, LaWilliam and LaClaus would become the greatest basketballers of the Multiverse in all of its' entirety. The Hinodejin Basketball League laughed him out of the building and all high schools decided to avoid going after his kids. Now, they want attention from the world via... playing cricket?

BREEZE OF HANSHIMA
Hometown: Hanshima, Kanteshima
Colours: Blue and White

Formed by fisherman that got a taste of the sport, the Breeze is the sole team to actively play at Hanshima per se as any other professional team on the small islands that form Hanshima have to play at the Floating Stadium built by the Hinodejin authorities for events.

HIRANEMU ENGINES
Hometown: Hirasuki, Hiranemu
Colours: Grey, Black, Purple and Red

A team consisting solely of cyborgs and androids, formed as a past-time to these creations after days of labour. It should be a pretty good team once we find out where we placed that Amstrad Cricket game copy the Prince bought once.

HIYENA ORCHESTRA CC
Hometown: Hiyena City, Hiyena
Colours: Purple, Gold, Black and White

A short-lived member of the Hinodejin Gridiron League that didn't really suffer any major financial losses despite the tournament's woeful organization. Some members decided to turn the team into a cricket club... which means they do play their games in a gridiron field still. At least, it's spacious.

KORANIKANE ELEPHANTS
Hometown: Suki, Koranikane
Colours: Gold and Blue

Established by the Hinodejin Authorities in agreement with locals interested in a more... exquisite sport than the usual football and hockey. Players are actually youth from juvenile help programs.

MINAGAMI REDS
Hometown: Minagami, Tsagominagami
Colours: Red, Green and White

Several big cities of the Hinodejin Empire don't really have professional teams. Minagami, wanting to be in the top tier of pretty much anything, bought their way into the league via acquiring players that were left out from Sakurahana United's squad.

MISEI CITY TOURIST TRAPPERS
Hometown: Misei City, Misei
Colours: Purple and White

Only another effort by Misei City to reach its goal of becoming the ultimate tourist trap of the Hinodejin Empire, a proper gateway that the Empire deserves. The team has mostly employed cricket players from lands that no longer exist, given how... well, Hinodejin cricket players suck.

SAKURAHANA UNITED CC
Hometown: Koneshi, Sakurahana
Colours: Maroon and White

The fusion of eleven teams from the first season of Hinodejin cricket (Saishoshiro, Dabi, Hatomura, Kyoso-Zensho, Kurogoben, Kodoryo, Notigamusha, Konishima, Hakucho-Umi, Fenitori and Shinusu) in a nefarious plot to dominate the Empire's cricket scene. Not exactly the hardest of challenges, to be fair.

SEVEN SEAS BRETHREN
Hometown: Maku, Mikashu
Colours: Black, Gold and White

In the past, independent pirates under the name of the Brethren Court made a living out of terrorizing the peoples from the Old Continent. Nowadays, this pack of reformed pirates turned to organize sports teams at the city of Maku, where their sole survivor, Mistress Ching, still lives at.

SPACE ECHIDNA RECORDS
Hometown: The Hinodejin Main Satellite of Stellapolis
Colours: Red and Green

Campionato Esportiva 23 presented a voice of his generation to the multiverse, the football tournament paling in comparison to the relevance of the first appearance of the legend that is Space Knuckles, the first-ever rapper to come out of Mobius. With singles such as "Kick the Rock", "Drop into Space", "Pumpkin Hill" and the legendary classic (albeit long titled) "Space Sonic is a Sick Bastard that Gets Off out of People's Displeasure from his mere image"; Space Knuckles became a major contributor of Hinodejin music. Now, wanting to keep "his game" alive, he wishes to present the world to his finest followers such as Willy the Smith, Biggie Paws, Vector 3000, Charbeellionaire and, possibly the best one of the bunch (or so he paid me to say so), Fifty Rings via the organization known as Space Echidna Records. Cricket is apparently a "side hustle", by the way.

TETSUO KENSINGTONIANS
Hometown: Tetsuo, Kanteshima
Colours: Blue, Red and Gold

A club formed by Kanteshimans who found the sport of cricket rather enticing, they're notorious for being supported by the former court of a nation that has since being taken down by the Hinodejin Empire. Apparently, their venue is actually built on top of the ruins of a former palace, something rather normal at the Isle of Kanteshima.

THE BROTHERS CC
Hometown: Saitama, Ando
Colours: Orange, Black and Red

Formerly a sibling team to Shaolin Saitama (of KiHi-LEAGUE fame), the Brothers are the first Shaolin monk only cricket team in the Empire, not to mention the sole sports team at any top tier of Hinodejin sports to be based after monks. Not that it makes them any good, though.

THE CRICKETS CC
Hometown: Yoshimitsukawa, The Hinodejin Outerplanetary Dependency of Garbodor
Colours: Brown, Black

Garbodor was one of the Outerplanetary Dependencies of the Hinodejin Empire that sent a player to represent them in a Campionato Esportiva, the planet itself known for its' somewhat toxic environment, although its' atmosphere has since been cleaned up ridiculously fast by the Hinodejin. The Crickets' line-up consists mostly of Konshumans, skeletal-like people with large bug-like exoskeletons that cover them up from damage and were key in keeping them alive at their own planet back in the day.

THE GIRLS CC
Hometown: Koronee, Maraka
Colors: Teal, Orange

The league's sole Goblin Orc team, formed by a bunch of girls that apparently weren't picked up for any sport. They might end up wasting too much time being flirtatious over... well, playing the actual game. Formerly The Goblins CC, before they decided to complain that Goblins were too mucky and not pretty in the dictionary.

THE KICKERS CC
Hometown: Sakyen, Minakoku
Colours: White, Black, Blue, Red

Formed by students of Tae Kwon Do's "Indomitable Spirit" Master Baek Doo San, Their roster is, indeed, a ragtag of former misfits that have since taken into the martial art to get themselves out of trouble. They don't really understand the sport, playing using their legs to both launching and hitting the ball.

THE MANEATERS CC
Hometown: Kurasushima, Indoshima
Colours: Orange and Blue

Visiting Kurasushima and got nothing better to do? Well, it is a very tiny island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, but why don't you show up at the City's Oval for a game of cricket? We swear the nickname is just a nickname.

THE SAIYANS CC
Hometown: Shizumi, The Hinodejin Outerplanetary Dependency of Carrota
Colours: Orange and Blue

Once upon a time, a Saiyan decided to play cricket. A week in, and he still has to throw his first ball. Honestly, Hinodejin authorities just hope that they're able to play a game without taking a month to do so. Then again, we already missed the cutoff this year so, I guess so much about being in time.

Kalactanian Cricket Championship

Preview
Projected Finish
1. Murwelldobah
2. Gold Coast
3. Kyater
4. Kempsey
5. Lismore
6. Coffs

The Murwelldobah Cricket Club is putting together a very strong team this year with by far the best bowling in the Championship. Kalactanian National Team Bowler Craig Campbell will lead the way this year with his Off-Break Bowling that is considered the best in the league.

Gold Coast is also putting a strong team out on the grounds this year with defense that looks to wreak havoc in the Championship this year. Their top batters are Randy Cox and Shawn Torres who both can put up a half-century on a common basis.

Kyater Cricket club plays at the Kyater Cricket ground which is where the balls fly high and far. They are very good at defending their wickets and have good talent in their Bowling, however, their batting lacks power and tends to not hit very many 6s and 4s.

Kemspey was one of the strongest teams in the championship last year, but after giving away many of their best hitters they will not be a power team much longer. Kempsey plays at a ground that is very bowler friendly so their defense may be able to excel there.

Lismore is the smallest city in the championship however has one of the most loyal fan bases. They hit the balls high and hard but tend to get a large number of wickets. Their bowling talent will be tested against the best players in the league this year.

Coffs has not been a very good team the last few years. Their bowling allows a huge number of runs and that grand will likely continue until they get more top-end bowlers. Their offense also struggles and rarely hits any half-century’s during the games.

Team Points	Played	Won	Draw	Lost	NRR
Murwelldobah 20 10 10 0 0 12.06
Gold Coast 10 10 5 0 5 6.62
Lismore 10 10 5 0 5 -0.34
Kyater 8 10 4 0 6 0.26
Kempsey 8 10 4 0 6 -4.08
Coffs 4 10 2 0 8 -14.52

Murwelldobah showed utter dominance this year winning every single game this year in the championship. There were many mid table teams including Gold Coast who was expected to be a much better team this year. Lismore also put together a good performance for their expected lower level performance.

Cricket is the only sport legally allowed to be played in Samrakstivu, but it is something of an obsession. The newly formed Premier League of T20 has been formed in order to try to raise the spirits of the Samrak people and of course to glorify the Kāppāḷar, Nivositha, a noted cricket fan. All six teams play in the city of Perunakaram at the Nivositha Fountain of Youth Cricket Ground, among the world's largest and most luxurious stadia.

Quite an exciting season, with Shamrocks and Sixers going into a Round 10 matchup just two points apart- Sixers could have theoretically won the title with a convincing win. However...

Sixers 100/7 (20 overs)
Shamrocks 132/8 (20 overs)

Heartbreak for the Sixers and their fans, representing the south-east of the city. Cricket talent in Samrakstivu skews heavily towards bowling, in part because of tastes and skills of the players, and in part because the Nivositha Fountain of Youth Cricket Ground is below sea level, encouraging a more "bits and pieces" style of batting, rather than the marvelous crushing sixes people tend to enjoy.

Romanopolis Cricket Club had an excellent season, winning both the List A Trophy and the DCB T20 Tournament. In both competitions, it was their second title. However, when it came to the First-class Trophy, Romanopolis was hampered by five of their eight matches ending before a decision could be reached and couldn't sweep the three major competitions. Honors in that competition fell to Tempala Cricket Club.

To whom it may concern,

I am writing on behalf of the Darmeni Professional Cricketers' Association, the representative body of Darmen's current and past professional cricketers, who have asked me to express some of their concerns regarding the Champions' League Twenty20 (CLT20) competition.

While I understand that the competition is "for the love of the game," there are certainly a lot of games. Players who have previously competed in the CLT20 and especially those players of the Chuckio, Springfield and Tempala clubs which participated in the most recent edition have raised concerns about the arduous 20+ match group stage. Both the number of matches, as well as the group stage's home-and-away nature (which necessitates a large amount of travel and jet lag) were named as things the players would like to see changed for future editions.

The players indicated that they would prefer for the CLT20 to be played at a single location, with groups of no more than 8 teams and a single round-robin slate of matches. They hope that by adopting a shorter competition format, injury rates in the CLT20 will fall significantly and player welfare overall will significantly increase.

While I respect that choosing a format for the next CLT20 is totally your prerogative, I hope you will take into consideration the concerns and desires of the Darmeni cricket players in choosing a format for the next CLT20.

Sincerely,
Stephen Tyler
President, Darmeni Professional Cricketers' Association

To whom it may concern,

Keep the current format! We're making boatloads of cash!

Sincerely,
Donald David
CFO, Tempala Cricket Club
