Sign Ups Close; Host Voting Close, IC Thread Up - 10 June, 21:00 BST
Deadline for Entries; Voting Begins - 24 June, 20:00 BST
Voting Closes - 1 July, 20:00 BST

A beginner's guide...

Welcome to the WorldVision Song Contest, based on the Eurovision Song Contest, aiming to provide and unite nations from different parts of the World through music. The WorldVision Song contest is an outlet to showcase the popular or native music of your nation. As with every contest, there are a few simple rules and regulations that you'll need to follow.

 1. To start, you must sign up for the contest. Do so by using the form below and posting that you sign up in this thread. Make sure you sign up before the cutoff date. You won't be penalized if you sign up and don’t end up posting a song. You then post the song in the IC thread after a host vote (see previous contests to see what a "normal" post looks like).
 2. At the end of the host bidding period, all nations which have signed up at that point may vote for the nation that will host the contest. Instructions will be posted by this account, and all host votes should be telegrammed to this account as well. The winning bidding nation will then create the IC thread.
 3. The contest is based upon the Eurovision Song Contest: nations will "perform" their song. No real-life song can be entered into the WorldVision Song Contest; of course, the melody can be used (usually linked via YouTube). At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations are not allowed. Nations are free to choose to host a national final or internally select their representative. English is not compulsory, and other languages are encouraged.
 4. Once the IC thread has been posted whenever the winning bidding nation chooses, nations will submit songs before the deadline. After the deadline nations may not edit or alter their song in any way, unless otherwise instructed by the Committee. Also, after the deadline and any interval act (wait for the signal from the host nation), nations vote, ranking their top ten songs in the following format: 12-10-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 in the IC thread. Nations may not vote for themselves. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote.

If you don't know how to sign up, use this form below; this should help. Not all of these fields have to be filled in, but it certainly helps.

Code: Select all
Nation Name: Your nation's name goes here.
Official Broadcaster: Your official broadcaster for WV goes here.
Song Title: The IC Song title goes here.
Artist(s) Name(s): The name of your act goes here.

Tune: The real life tune you're basing your song on goes here.

 1. A debutante nation cannot bid to host the WorldVision Song Contest. A nation must have entered and completed one edition in order to qualify to host a following edition. Furthermore, a nation that has put a host bid CANNOT vote for their own bid. This ensures a democratic and fair result.
 2. At least 80% of the song’s lyrics must be original, and translations of real life songs will result in disqualification. If you suspect another entry to be either wholly or mostly plagiarised, please telegram the WorldVision Committee with your concerns. The committee will then review the entry before making a judgement. If your entry is disqualified for whatever reason, you will not be reinstated even if you edit your entry.
 3. All nations that post a song in the IC thread must vote. Failure to do so will result in a one-contest ban.
 4. Each nation may enter ONE puppet nation (that is another nation controlled by the same player); the master nation must confirm their puppet on the thread. Should a nation is found to be in breach of the one-puppet nation rule, sanctions and a disqualification will be put in place.
 5. If a nation enters a puppet nation, the maximum amount of points that can be awarded to each nation is up to five points thus ensuring a fair and more equal chance for all nations to succeed within the Contest. If a nation is found to have awarded a higher amount of points, the Committee will first allow said nation to alter their votes. If said nation fails to adhere to Committee reminders, the votes will be rendered void and will result in disqualification. A user controlling a master and puppet nation together can only award a third nation a total of 18 points.
 6. Under no circumstances will bullying, offensive and/or intimidating language or provocations of any form be accepted within the Contest, within both IC and OOC threads. WorldVision promotes peaceful and friendly environment. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. If at any point, you feel you are a victim, or feel someone has been victimized by another nation, contact the Committee, or a member of the Committee immediately. The Committee will ensure anonymity/confidentiality at all times.
 7. Only the current host of a Contest or the WorldVision Committee can reveal results during the voting process. Conspiring with fellow users to rig any of the votes is illegal and will result in sanctions.
 8. Users may "reserve" slots in the running order of the contest, but if you do so and don't finish your entry by the deadline, you will receive a one-contest ban. An entry is accepted if it has a complete set of lyrics, regardless of whether stage directions have been finalized or not. You may also state that you are withdrawing from the contest on the OOC thread.
 9. Users may not edit their entries or votes after the deadlines for any reason, including spelling or grammatical errors, unless otherwise instructed to by the Committee. If you'd like to edit something in after the deadline, please ask the Committee for permission first.

So basically, be original, try to be fair, don't be a jerk, and have fun. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to TG the Committee- it helps if you add the Committee's individual member names (Besen, Darkmania, Ethane, Kalosia, Nekoni) in the "To:" box along with "WorldVision Committee" for a faster response.

Even if you've missed the deadline or aren't participating, feel free to discuss the contest in this thread or post commentary in the IC. You'll find that people greatly appreciate some good commentary.

With all that said, welcome to WorldVision!

OFFICAL BID FOR THE WORLDVISION 74

Rëndstÿrna, Darkmania

"Come and Play with Us!"

Image

What do you get when you hear the words “Winter-sport paradise”, “Darkmania” and an ice-hockey venue inside a mountain together? You get the 2nd Worldvision bid from Darkmania and DaTV! This bid will be a presentation on how the vision will be IF this bid is chosen to host Worldvision.

THE TOWN

Image

Rëndstÿrna is a cozy alpine town with around 50.000 Rëndsturÿs, small by darkmanian standards. Not much exiting for a small town, to be honest. The nearest large settlement is around 45 kilometres away, but size doesn’t matter when you can host big things. Because this small town has big plans for the future.

Image

Rëndstÿrna is known as the winter sports capital of Darkmania. It is the location of Darkmania`s only luge/bobsleigh track as of now and its also the location of one of 35 speed-skating rinks in Darkmania. In the picture DaTV has been allowed to share by a local there, you can see the ski jumping venue as well as the town`s local church. The town LOVES winter sports. It's said that the town has good enough venues to host the Winter Olympics, A thought within the locals. But to mark that this town exists, they will be hosting the Worldvision Song Contest. And in order to host the Worldvision Song Contest, they need a venue. Luckily, they got the perfect one.

VENUE
Image

If there is one thing that perfectly describes Darkmania, it's that “no challenge is too great to tackle”, and the venue`s location are a solid proof of that is true in Darkmania.
“Rëndstÿrna ËisHöckey Ärenä”, also known in local slang as “the Mountian Hall” is the centre-piece of this bid. If you haven’t noticed already, the ice hockey arena is inside of a mountain!

The venue began construction with the first explosion in 1987 and was scheduled to be finished in 1990. However, construing an ice-hockey rink in the middle of a civil war are always a great idea. After the civil war ended in 1988, the Regime decided to continue with the venue as it was in construction. After 5 years, and 2 workers deaths, the ice hockey rink was open to the public and are the town`s number one venue today.

Image

The rink itself is 30,5 metres by 61 metres and are mostly used by the pride of the town, the ice hockey team "Rëndstÿrna Raccons", a 6 times league winner and 4 times winner of the darkmanian championship. When Rëndstÿrna Racoons plays in the venue, up to 7 500 can cheer on their favourite ice-hockey team. It's not the biggest venue in Darkmania, but size doesn’t matter. A small venue can easily host big events, like Worldvision. The venue also is able to be used to host concerts, If used, 10 000 can fit in all inside this mountain 10 meteres deep!

STAGE

Image

With a stage like this, who need to have a fancy stage when you can have a simple stage? This will be the first song contest hosted by Darkmania to have LCD walls, so you are able to display anything as you want (as long it isn’t a face). The stage has the capability for fire and pyrotechnics, as well as one cat-walk so the performer can be close to the audience at the venue.
DaTV has a policy that nothing shall be ignored when it comes to song-performances. As such, you are free to do what you want on stage unless its illegal
Props on stage will not be a problem as there will be a storage backstage with enough space to easily get the props you need when your performer needs them.

HOSTS: There will be four hosts (2 male and 2 females) for this contest. Together, they will be inviting you all to our small town.

Jërn Trÿsnarnär has already been known for his hotdog stunt while hosting World Hit Festival 39, but the 40-year-old comedian, who are openly gay, will bring fun and laughter to the contest. Maybe he will show you his wiener ;-)? He are confirmed a green room host

Reübens Pÿrgam are a 27 year old actor who is known for his role as the teacher for the popular drama Gënter (Youth). He has the skills and with him, the show will surely not be boring. After all, he has won prizes for his role as the teacher. He will present the voting with the next host on the line.

Cärtenne Sërnänä is already a winner as she won World Hit Festival 38 with her opera skills. Despite she are to give birth to a son later this year, she will along Reübens host the voting.

Krÿstne Gämas, a 22 year old model, will join the group to help lighten up the mood. While she are a greenroom host, she arent just to look beautiful.

OTHER INFORMATION

If chosen, we will use Flexible Deadline. We also recommend, but cannot enforce, a limit of 6 persons on stage just like Eurovision, to try to encourage you to think outside the box. The host is quite liberal when it comes to how your song can be performed as the policy are to ensure you can do whatever the f*** you want (as long as it isn't illegal).

The role "WV contestants" on the WV/WHF Discord server will be used as a background role, with the primary function to notifying you when Darkmania has an important message to you. In order to get the rule, you must have at least one LEGAL entry and are NOT BANNED from the server in order to get it. When you have been given the role, in order to get rid of it are to being able to cast your vote. Those who has the role on the server when the voting-deadine are disqualified.

It shall be noted that the user behind this nation might not have the best English and his writing is not on par with other (according to him), so honest feedback on how he can improve his hosting skills, as well as typos are welcomed via DM at the account DarkNS#2301 or publicly on the #Worldvision channel on the Discord server. Please don’t yell at him. He`s only 21.

Postcard will be images of activities you can do in either winter or summer (ICy, the song contests takes place in the spring when the snow has melted.)

PORTOFOLIO

Darkmania was the organizer of WHF39 and WSC67, both taking place on the capital, so Darkmania has experience. Darkmania also hosted the 1st Novapx summit, but ut due to the literally nothing that happens there, we will not go in much detail of the summit.

סינדרלה רעה חוזרת ו"שורדת" עם השיר החדש שלהן

WorldVision winners Cinderella Ra'ah have announced their return to the WorldVision stage on social media today. The band, who won the 33rd contest with their song "אור אודם" (Ruby Light) have been selected by RESHET to drive home the Kishraeli return to the contest. The girls who have not aged since their last participation had been on tour around the world after the victory, and, in conjunction with management, decided to become cryogenically frozen, meaning the girls remain as youthful as ever now they've defrosted, and are ready for the WorldVision stage. The song, titled "שורדת" (Survive) will be along the same lines as their last winning hit, a bilingual dance track with a rap breakdown. It is yet to be known, with the lack of other announced entries, just how Cinderella Ra'ah will fare in their return to the competition, however many fans are excited to see such WorldVision legends returning to the stage.

Moments after the conclusion of the 73rd Worldvision Song Contest in Estogium, the PNB announced on social media that they would be launching the Landa vy Polkopiya again, and that the winner of this competition would again represent the nation in the forthcoming Worldvision, whose location is still to be determined. Last edition, the winner of Landa vy Polkopiya, Nikol, represented Polkopia in Estogium and earned an impressive finish, coming in at 4th place out of 26 participating nations. Many Polkopians are enthusiastic about the upcoming contest, as Polkopia's recent strings of good results have only increased the domestic hype prior to the competition. Because of this, many big Polkopian names have been thrown around when people ask themselves who would be participating in the Landa vy Polkopiya this edition. While only ten acts are eligible to participate in the show, the PNB receives an influx of hopefuls who all believe that have a good shot at winning the contest. This edition, the PNB revealed that they received a total of 162 submissions to the LvP, making the decision on who would qualify for the live shows all the more difficult.

The job has been done though and the lineup for the LvP has been revealed! As always, the PNB is calling on international juries to submit their votes before the conclusion of the semi-finals, and this result will be mixed with a televote in a 50/50 format in order to calculate the overall winner of the competition. After a long, long, LONG absence, ETV has announced that Elejamie will return to the WorldVision Song Contest. Not only will Cerin Erali and Flynn Taggart resume commentating duties, as they had done for viewers even when their nation was absent, but they have also announced that the country will be represented by Artist Unknown, who will be performing the song "Never Going To Sleep Again".

It's going to be a bit of a pain writing it up on my laptop because the G key's a bit iffy and the headphone jack's a bit knackered, meaning that I'll have to use my tablet to listen to the entries, but I'm still confident I should get a good enough entry up. Also, Artist Unknown is the actual name of the group performing at the competition, even though it's just a solo side project to what he normally does.

Ylfa, Talvezout - "Maijta Mayar, the head of Talvezian Radio & Television, has announced that Talvezout will be returning to Worldvision 74, alongside a potential host bid if negotiations go to plan. "Right now, we are looking at the potential cities to host Worldvision within our nation. We currently have a shortlist of about six cities - Ylfa, San Marcos, Phoda, Yaru-Bzheriut, Waterloo, and Phenxi.

Mayar also touched upon Talvezout's results in Worldvision 73. "The mood here in Talvezout is mixed about Worldvision, quite frankly. Our recent non-participation, funding shortages, and deflating results have put a damper on our enthusiasm. I know a lot of people were expecting Talvezout to get into the top 5 at least last contest, and when we barely slid into 10th the disappointment was palpable." Still, Mayar noted that Talvezout has no plans to currently pull out at the moment, and that the broadcaster had selected Lorenzo to represent the archipelago nation.

"I have full confidence that Lorenzo can help us do well. She's gotten 2nd place before, and she is an extremely talented performer and writer." She also added that she hopes that if Talvezout does end up hosting the contest, that the home-field advantage might help propel Lorenzo.

TRT has released a prototype design for their planned Worldvision hosting bid.

We will be signing up

I came last last time but I won’t this time!

LIB Radio and Broadcast
reportarlib.co.lib

Elonas! It is Libumelland, back for our second round in WorldVision number 74, ladies and gentlemen. Last time, we held our debut in WorldVision 73 with Team T.I.M.E., a popular national boy band in Libumelland, and they preformed “Tables Turned” in both Libumelian and English. We were deemed as a very humble entry, and that did turn out quite so when the results came out as Libumelland revealing its place in 27th, otherwise known as last place out of the 27 countries who competed. That was obviously not a very good start, and as a nation we hope to do better. Which is why we have come back, selecting new competitors! They will be listed for public voting below.

(AS LIBUMELLAND IS A SMALL COUNTRY, WE ONLY HAVE THREE SELECTABLE CONTESTANTS. PLEASE TELEGRAM ME WHICH ONE YOU PICK, CLOSES 30 MAY.)

Élisa Perralina - “Monday Morning” Romance / English
Miguel - Harem

Sharp Hound - “Ghost Night” Rock/Scare / Libumelian/English
Miguel - Wolf ft. Quin

Raxy - “Hanging” Pop/Dance Libumelian/English
Ed Sheeran - Cross Me (ft. Chance the Rapper & PnB Rock)

If you have voted thank you, we hope to see a great representation of The Principality and Holy Count of Libumelland.

(OOC: I’m a huge Miguel fan please don’t judge)

Libumelian is basically Spanish but a little altered and we added the letter ‘ć’.

"Welcome to Izmepisma. 9 songs have been chosen out of a field of hundreds waiting for their shot at Izmedu's WorldVision baton, but only one song can remain standing"

Izmepisma nearly clinches its second win in the previous WorldVision, with IzaRa's "Jukim-Jugre" scoring an impressive 123 points in what turned out to be an incredibly competitive WorldVision. Tipped to do well pre-contest, IzaRa delivered for WV73 and adds another sterling result to the national final's history. Such a high placing comes right on time for the festivities for the 74th WorldVision. While it was touch and go for the RTI delegation in charge of the national final and Izmeduan participation, WV74 did mark Izmedu's 40th anniversary in the contest. Accordingly, the new edition of Izmepisma was approached with a more celebratory mood. Thus, energy was placed with contacting and soliciting submissions from more veteran Izmeduans that may not have necessarily 'fit' the kind of WorldVision sound that was often associated with Izmedu.

About 1134 entries were submitted for this Izmepisma. While this marks a dip from the previous edition, the composition of the artists were a mixture of heavily established veteran artists that would not have contemplated WorldVision, as well as from regions that have traditionally been underrepresented in the Izmeduan music industry. With so many artists, renowned at home but relatively new to the WorldVision scene, now expressing their desire for a spot even just in Izmepisma, the team had to make incredibly difficult cuts to whittle the field down to 18 for the live shows. Even more difficult cuts were made at the domestic televoting rounds, with 18 songs going down to 9. These 9 songs comprise the grand final, ready for your votes.

Your least favorite 2 songs will not receive any votes. To vote, simply send a TG to Izmedu with the format or send a Discord DM to Izmedu#6997 (and if you have a national final, let me know and I will vote for yours in return).

OOC Announcement:

So I currently going to be having both finals weeks and a nearly month-long vacation IRL. For that reason, Main Nation Ministry will be unable to attend WorldVision 74. However, that doesn't mean we wouldn't be attending WorldVision 75! After I came back, Main Nation Ministry will attempt to do whatever it takes to get the gold in 75!

Quote of the Week: "A NEW STORY ON WRITING THREAD FOR HALLOWEEN!! MYSTERY MINE AVAILABLE NOW!"

RPs I do
- How do you do fellow kids? You want to see something violent? - Artemis: Deimos Trafficking League (Horror/Mature)
- Descend into the forgotten tourist traps of Florida on this transgressive RP! - The Community (Mature/Black Comedy/Slice-of-Life)

My overall account that I use for P2TM and even for international roleplaying! MNM is a mysterious and extremely dangerous dictatorship filled with supernatural oddities, demons, militarized soldiers everywhere, and a misanthropic nihilistic dictator who doesn't give a damn. It's basically if the SCP Foundation got mixed with 1984.

Voxijans gather around their TV sets, eagerly waiting to see who the proper authorities choose for WorldVision 74, Voxija's debut.

Voxija is proud to submit our first song to WorldVision. Voxijans have been watching WorldVision all this time, until someone got the bright idea to have Voxija participate in it. Public interest skyrocketed. Now, it is predicted that Voxija's entry in WorldVision will be the most viewed program on Voxijan TV ever.

"So, what do you think," says Koldo Harrijo, a judge of the proper authorities who are picking the performer now, "Who won our vote?"

Vela Sitxvan, the other judge, smiles and unfolds a paper containing the name of the selected performer...

"Voxa el-Rashid!"

Voxijans families scream in delight for Voxa el-Rashid. A descendant of refugees and a member of the very small Muslim minority in Voxija, Voxijans still root for her as one of their own, the favored singer. And Voxa is indeed a very good singer.

And so, without further ado, Voxija is signing up to make our debut in WorldVision 74! And here's the application:

Nation Name: Voxija (the Republic of Voxija)
Official Broadcaster: VTV-Channel 1
Song Title: It Wasn't Real.
Artist(s) Name(s): Voxa (Voxa el-Rashid)

Tune: Only You (by Yazoo)
