Drags Rising
In recent times, a new recreational activity has come upon the people of Yahel. Drag racing. Looking around, you can see anything from poor hoodlums racing junker cars to rich oil barons racing the newest top of the line supercars on the market. With this rise in the new activity, has come a rise in something else. Gamblers. Looking at almost any race, you can see dozens of bets taking place. Anything from the competitors playing for keeps, or an audience betting pool looking to make a quick pocket of change. This trend has caused Yahel to organize and create an official league for these drag racers. Crews are being brought in to represent their home cities in the brand new NDLR (National Drag Racing Leauge).
Cryptids? In this economy?
Bigfoot is a well-known myth from the west that describes a large hairy beast man that roams the woods, just out of sight of the human eye. There are dozens of these types of creatures like skinwalkers and wendigos, but it seems that the elusive sasquatch has come to the Yaheli public eye over a small event. Media flocked around a man claiming that he spotted this "Bigfoot" in Israel. When authorities investigated this matter, the myth was debunked, turning out to just be an illegal Turkish immigrant. Despite this, these creatures, "Cryptids" have become quite the popular topic among pop culture. Going into small bookstores, you can find pieces such as "The Sand Serpent of Oman" and "The Ever Watching Eye". It seems that the nation has become somewhat infatuated with the supernatural.
