Okay, edgelords. The whole "Pineapple lel fite me" meme's worn out it's welcome with random precision. Time to let the dead horse rest in peace. We know you're all familiar with the big media circus the whole thing managed to stir up. You've had your fun.

Also, mayonnaise on pizza sounds a lot less weird than bananas on pizza, tbh. I'd try it.

Stay away from the Pizza Huts, Papa John's, and lost especially the Domino's and you'll be headed in a good direction. :P

My preference is a soft, thick Chicago style crust. I like a lot of sauce, with a coarser texture, well seasoned and maybe even a little bit spicy. Enough cheese to cover the whole pizza, but I don't like the cheese laid on too thick. I like most of the normal American toppings (but no mushrooms or olives please). Some combination of pepperoni, sausage, beef, bacon, bell pepper, and onion is good.

Also, in New Mexico, green chile is a must have pizza topping, so there's that too.

Someone really needs to invent a Chinese food take on the pizza.

This thread is thriving because it is literally about pizza. This is a good thread, and tasty as well.

Personally, a thick crust with a few pieces of ham under cheese and olives on top ( don't tell anybody, but I like ketchup on my pizzas )

I prefer thin crust, thick crusts tend to be way, way too greasy. last one I had left a oily film around my mouth and left me with a raging gut ache.

I don't really see the point of ketchup given that pizza already has tomato sauce.
I know some people who like ranch on their pizza, which at least makes more sense. I'm not a huge fan of ranch due to its consistency, but the flavor is nice, so I can see why it would taste good on pizza.

I mean, it's already made with tomato paste. if you want the sharpness of ketchup then add a drop or 2 of vinegar to the mix, and you get the same acidity without the need for dipping

They already have. It's called "Hawaiian Pizza" because mainlanders think anything with a pineapple on it is automatically Hawaiian.

Now, if you're talking something authentically Chinese, that would be interesting.

I don't really see the point of gravy seeing as the meal already has turkey/pork/beef/chicken.

To clarify, if your pizza sauce tastes like ketchup, you're using a poorly-made sauce. They may both be tomato-based, but they have very different flavors.

That said, ketchup is all wrong for a pizza, flavor-wise.

My mother makes terrible pizza. Filo pastry base, tomato ketchup sauce, cheddar and only cheddar for the cheese.

If you thought that was good pizza then she really must have fucked your brains out before you ate it....

The point being that tomato sauce and ketchup have different flavor profiles, and that they could conceivably be used on the same dish. Heck, some pizzas have tomato on them, and tomatoes taste more like tomato sauce than ketchup.

The following is not safe for Italians

An Indian take on pizza is quite common where I live, tandoori chicken as a topping.

This place does a Chinese chicken calzone and a Turkish Delight pizza (kebab meat not Turkish delight thankfully...)

•The bread is crisp, very thin, and you can tell it has been baked in a wood oven. One of the ones where you can slide it in, and the bottom comes out all charcoaled.
•The sauce is not clumpy or grainy. It is very smooth and it's as if it wasn't cooked and hardened. It must be sweet and acidic, that is by far the most important part of the sauce.
•There shouldn't have to be much cheese if the sauce is good. The way the cheese is integrated depends on how well and in what style you are making your pizza. It shouldn't be greasy, although browning is good.

So how do you folks like your pizza?

Wholeheartedly agree on the crust. No stuffed crust pizza, please.

I'm less particular on the sauce, but there should be tomato sauce.

Cheese? There should be some. Sometimes, there is such a thing as too much cheese.

There should be a meat. Maybe mushrooms. Maybe some peppers & onions. No fruit.
