It depends where you are. In the north, particularly around Mystyme and Thyrne, you would probably be lynched. Down south in Gytesbyrd or Welyth you'd be mostly tolerated, although viewed with suspicion

It depends on who you say that to.

  • The 54% of the population who are religious would probably give you a disapproving look,
    -
  • The other 46% of the population who aren't would shrug you off and categorise you with them weirdo vegans, and;
    -
  • The police would check you for drugs.

It's a fair assessment. Though you'd likely be serving directly under a magical being, who will be quick to inform you that "god" is a title held by a number of individuals, it is perfectly fair to reject belief in the divinity of those who hold the title of "god". Especially considering that a perfectly normal human could be given that title (and the title comes with no powers of any kind.) You'll even get support from Branch Commander Anisa Al-Samad, who supports state-atheism. Most people in the Skolipendra Organization just wouldn't care, however, though a few might question you about it considering how much magic you will have seen by that point.

Neither stats nor policies are used; please check factbooks for information.
This nation is in the process of a major retcon and factbook overhaul. Please understand and be patient with us.

While there's no explicit law against being an atheist, saying so would violate Breen's Lèse-majesté law because the Monarch is considered descended from the Gods and by extent is divine. So your head would be swiftly removed.

Minimal reaction, most people would just wonder why you brought it up?

Religion's certainly a heavily discussed topic, but at this point the tensions of the past have long dissipated given the emphasis of previous governments on facilitating better debates and integration between disparate cultural groups.

In Rastrian, much of the population is already irreligious, with the rest being of either various tribal faiths and some usually quite progressive Christians, so you most definitely would not be alone. Moreover, there is virtually no religious unrest or friction. As such, the majority reaction would be either disinterest or quizzical stares as people attempt to guess why you would mention such a thing. In very small minority cases, you may get eyerolls or facepalms, as the only people likely to say such things would be ignorant foreigners wanting to start an argument. But basically, nothing too terrible.

Nothing much would happen but it would depend on where in the country you were. Like the United States, Auspelia has a 'bible belt' of socially conservative and extremely religious states. These are:

Capricornia
Kingsland
The Northern Territory
Eastern Auspelia

If you said you were an atheist in these states you would probably be met with some odd stares but chances are no one would actually do anything. These states are very similar to the "deep south" of the U.S so imagine if you said you were an atheist in a state like Alabama or Mississippi or Georgia and the reaction would be essentially the same as if you said you were an atheist in one of Auspelia's 'bible belt' states.

If you said you were an atheist in Auspelia's more secular and liberal states, no one would really give a damn.
