As mentioned, ancestor worship isn't treated as a religion. There is no specific or particular dogma attached to the practise. Rather, it's about revering and acknowledging the spirits of those who came before us and built the world in which we live as well as the spirits of decendents yet unborn. There are no creation myths or gods attached to the practise and it is not enforced by any central authority but rather is practised within a household to household basis. The practise also deals with concepts such as luck (both good and bad), ideas which are the equivalent of karma, living in opposition and/or harmony with nature and sainthood and martyrdom.
