IC:
The Three United Empires used to have an Empress; an Empress in whom many fanatical citizens placed both their loyalty and faith. The cult following had little effect on the overall productivity of the empire – in fact, more citizens were inspired to work harder. It was an age of prosperity and enlightenment. Over time, the Empress amassed an exorbitant amount of power; which wasn’t an issue until her family broke out in in-fighting. What happens when the most powerful family starts fighting among themselves? They wipe themselves out. The Empress had died.
The problem was that the citizens wouldn’t believe it at first. The Empress had died before and had come back. It was almost a cycle in and of itself. The nation kept functioning as if nothing had happened, save for a few more sermons about how she would return.
…but she didn’t.
Over a hundred years, once generations had passed that remembered what the Empress had been like, that faith started to waver. Civil war broke out between those who were faithful and believed in her return, and those who wanted a new leader. Eventually, it led to a tenuous compromise. DNA would be tested by the government and compared to their archives to find any possible relatives of the Empress’ bloodline, Shentavo. Out of those that were found, a leader would be selected by government officials as well as the Empire’s current and potential allies.
Over three days, the high-ranking members of the Three United Empires would convene alongside some of their closest allies and potential allies. All would convene at the capital as the nation waited with bated breath for whom would be their next leader. For outsiders it was a time to potentially form long lasting relationship with the future Empress/Emperor – to have his/her ear and alliance. For insiders, it is the close of a long journey of waiting for the former Empress to return.
The Summerset Capital Spire is the tallest building in the north region of the Three United Empires. Twisting and turning up towards the sky invoking awe from all those who look upon it. This is where the invitation has brought you, and through the heavily crowded streets of photographers and onlookers, it has taken you a while to finally arrive at your destination. The massive crowd of laypeople are held back easily by military present. With a strong focus on war readiness and extensive training programs, not many of the citizens appear to be breaking any rules or daring to push past the meat shield of a barricade.
The invitation you have received is the only means of getting in. When the crowds see you have a means of entry, you become just as popular as any celebrity. Some beg to be your plus one even though there wasn’t that invitation, while others look for every opportunity to steal it. Likely, if you are coming here you’ve brought some form of security of your own. What possibilities lay beyond in the next three days? What does fate have in store for you, or will you craft your own destiny? You could decide who rules this massive empire, maybe gain some influence…maybe move to a higher station, or make use of this nation’s forces with the ear of the Empress. It all comes down to you and your choices alone.
When you successfully pass the security measures which seem a little intrusive, you are welcomed by accommodating staff to situate you in your home for the next three days. Everything you could possibly need is provided from you including from room service; which has an extensive menu spanning across the needs of multiple creatures. If you asked for anything specific prior to arrival, it has been provided. There is a small bar with a variety of liquors which are complimentary. There are also two bottles of water on the desk. There isn’t any price on them, but for each one you drink it’s a $10 charge. Because that’s logical.
There is also a bar on every floor of the building often decorated in the same fashion, as well as outside decks complete with an ever burning flame for all your smore- making needs.
Center Stage
[align=center]
You are shown to the areas where each of the candidates are. Each are in a room for discussion in the fashion of a round, and each are provided their own area for discourse. The first day itinerary is simply introductions to each of the candidates before proper discourse the following day. Refreshments are provided by ever vigilant staff who leap to refill a glass when it reaches half way.
[b]Gemini Room: Charmaine Locke
It’s easy to pick out Charmaine from the few other individuals gathered in the room with her heterochromia and stark white hair. It was easy to see why she was here; bearing a striking resemblance to Quissera, the mad king and son of the former Empress. She was maybe in her mid twenties, but it was hard to tell with her alabastor complexion. The scowl aged her a few years, however. She isn’t exactly dressed for the occasion in her black leather pants and combat boots – but if one had to guess, those were her good leather pants and she just shined those combat boots with that fancy polish that costs $29.99. She has a glass filled with red in front of her and she picks it up every now and again as people talk to her. She does her best to put on a fake smile as individuals drone on. She doesn’t look like she’s having a good time, and may be going through this as a formality rather than anything else.
Leo Room: Halvar
Halvar’s room is more crowded than Charmaine’s and louder by far. Everyone seems to be having a good time, though the conversation is rather anecdotal then much of substance. Unlike Charmaine, people are hanging on Halvar’s every word, and he has a lot of them. Long black hair braided exquisitely coupled will a well-groomed beard and strong facial features made him alluring. Gold eyes seemed unnatural, but with cosmetic surgery truly anything was possible. Rumor had it they used to be blue; but gold was more reminiscent of the Empress. He wears an expensive suit black with grey and charcoal accents made of expensive material. He looked like the guy that could buy your business and take your wife (and or husband) at the drop of a hat. Charismatic and charming – the room is full of laughter and conversation; Halvar’s voice being the loudest.
“Benedict? Hell, I thought she broke it—”
Clearly conversations of substance were occurring. Individuals are swayed by charisma and the show that a candidate puts on – and that made Halvar dangerous.
Virgo Room: Deliverance Dane
Deliverance Dane was actually engaging with those around her in intelligent discussion. Quiet and soft spoken, it’s a change from the previous regime. Champagne blonde hair falls to her hips in unruly waves. Bright blue eyes became more vibrant in her neutral dress and jewelry. Nothing was very extravagant about her; but it was clear that she knew about whatever she was talking about. She has a rolled blunt in one hand and a glass of red in the other. One thing of notice is that she kind of inches away from people as they get close to her.
Aquarius Room: Eloanne Versai
Eloanne, like Dane, is engaged in conversation with those in her room. Her words have conviction, and purpose – though she seems frustrated with some of the mundane questions such as what her favorite type of food is. Her hair is light blonde, straight, and short cutting off at her ears and styled with a hair pin. She wears black dress pants and blue heels with a blue top and black cape jacket looking just as presentable as Halvar. Her right leg had been amputated after an explosion, and a bionic leg was in its place. When she walked you could hear the whir of the prosthetic. Her military honors pins are tacked on the her formal attire.
“How could you use your leg when you can use barrier?”
Eloanne sighs, the same questions every night; about her disability. “…because, I couldn’t save both my leg, and them so I made the easiest choice of my life. Can we possibly talk about something other than my biotech?”
You have the choice about where to go and what to do.
Choose wisely.
