IC:

Premise

The Three United Empires used to have an Empress; an Empress in whom many fanatical citizens placed both their loyalty and faith. The cult following had little effect on the overall productivity of the empire – in fact, more citizens were inspired to work harder. It was an age of prosperity and enlightenment. Over time, the Empress amassed an exorbitant amount of power; which wasn’t an issue until her family broke out in in-fighting. What happens when the most powerful family starts fighting among themselves? They wipe themselves out. The Empress had died.

The problem was that the citizens wouldn’t believe it at first. The Empress had died before and had come back. It was almost a cycle in and of itself. The nation kept functioning as if nothing had happened, save for a few more sermons about how she would return.

…but she didn’t.

Over a hundred years, once generations had passed that remembered what the Empress had been like, that faith started to waver. Civil war broke out between those who were faithful and believed in her return, and those who wanted a new leader. Eventually, it led to a tenuous compromise. DNA would be tested by the government and compared to their archives to find any possible relatives of the Empress’ bloodline, Shentavo. Out of those that were found, a leader would be selected by government officials as well as the Empire’s current and potential allies.

Over three days, the high-ranking members of the Three United Empires would convene alongside some of their closest allies and potential allies. All would convene at the capital as the nation waited with bated breath for whom would be their next leader. For outsiders it was a time to potentially form long lasting relationship with the future Empress/Emperor – to have his/her ear and alliance. For insiders, it is the close of a long journey of waiting for the former Empress to return.

Upon Arrival…
Image

The Summerset Capital Spire is the tallest building in the north region of the Three United Empires. Twisting and turning up towards the sky invoking awe from all those who look upon it. This is where the invitation has brought you, and through the heavily crowded streets of photographers and onlookers, it has taken you a while to finally arrive at your destination. The massive crowd of laypeople are held back easily by military present. With a strong focus on war readiness and extensive training programs, not many of the citizens appear to be breaking any rules or daring to push past the meat shield of a barricade.

The invitation you have received is the only means of getting in. When the crowds see you have a means of entry, you become just as popular as any celebrity. Some beg to be your plus one even though there wasn’t that invitation, while others look for every opportunity to steal it. Likely, if you are coming here you’ve brought some form of security of your own. What possibilities lay beyond in the next three days? What does fate have in store for you, or will you craft your own destiny? You could decide who rules this massive empire, maybe gain some influence…maybe move to a higher station, or make use of this nation’s forces with the ear of the Empress. It all comes down to you and your choices alone.

Accommodations
Image
Image
Image
When you successfully pass the security measures which seem a little intrusive, you are welcomed by accommodating staff to situate you in your home for the next three days. Everything you could possibly need is provided from you including from room service; which has an extensive menu spanning across the needs of multiple creatures. If you asked for anything specific prior to arrival, it has been provided. There is a small bar with a variety of liquors which are complimentary. There are also two bottles of water on the desk. There isn’t any price on them, but for each one you drink it’s a $10 charge. Because that’s logical.
There is also a bar on every floor of the building often decorated in the same fashion, as well as outside decks complete with an ever burning flame for all your smore- making needs.

Center Stage
[align=center]Image

You are shown to the areas where each of the candidates are. Each are in a room for discussion in the fashion of a round, and each are provided their own area for discourse. The first day itinerary is simply introductions to each of the candidates before proper discourse the following day. Refreshments are provided by ever vigilant staff who leap to refill a glass when it reaches half way.

[b]Gemini Room: Charmaine Locke
It’s easy to pick out Charmaine from the few other individuals gathered in the room with her heterochromia and stark white hair. It was easy to see why she was here; bearing a striking resemblance to Quissera, the mad king and son of the former Empress. She was maybe in her mid twenties, but it was hard to tell with her alabastor complexion. The scowl aged her a few years, however. She isn’t exactly dressed for the occasion in her black leather pants and combat boots – but if one had to guess, those were her good leather pants and she just shined those combat boots with that fancy polish that costs $29.99. She has a glass filled with red in front of her and she picks it up every now and again as people talk to her. She does her best to put on a fake smile as individuals drone on. She doesn’t look like she’s having a good time, and may be going through this as a formality rather than anything else.

Leo Room: Halvar
Halvar’s room is more crowded than Charmaine’s and louder by far. Everyone seems to be having a good time, though the conversation is rather anecdotal then much of substance. Unlike Charmaine, people are hanging on Halvar’s every word, and he has a lot of them. Long black hair braided exquisitely coupled will a well-groomed beard and strong facial features made him alluring. Gold eyes seemed unnatural, but with cosmetic surgery truly anything was possible. Rumor had it they used to be blue; but gold was more reminiscent of the Empress. He wears an expensive suit black with grey and charcoal accents made of expensive material. He looked like the guy that could buy your business and take your wife (and or husband) at the drop of a hat. Charismatic and charming – the room is full of laughter and conversation; Halvar’s voice being the loudest.
“Benedict? Hell, I thought she broke it—”
Clearly conversations of substance were occurring. Individuals are swayed by charisma and the show that a candidate puts on – and that made Halvar dangerous.

Virgo Room: Deliverance Dane
Deliverance Dane was actually engaging with those around her in intelligent discussion. Quiet and soft spoken, it’s a change from the previous regime. Champagne blonde hair falls to her hips in unruly waves. Bright blue eyes became more vibrant in her neutral dress and jewelry. Nothing was very extravagant about her; but it was clear that she knew about whatever she was talking about. She has a rolled blunt in one hand and a glass of red in the other. One thing of notice is that she kind of inches away from people as they get close to her.

Aquarius Room: Eloanne Versai
Eloanne, like Dane, is engaged in conversation with those in her room. Her words have conviction, and purpose – though she seems frustrated with some of the mundane questions such as what her favorite type of food is. Her hair is light blonde, straight, and short cutting off at her ears and styled with a hair pin. She wears black dress pants and blue heels with a blue top and black cape jacket looking just as presentable as Halvar. Her right leg had been amputated after an explosion, and a bionic leg was in its place. When she walked you could hear the whir of the prosthetic. Her military honors pins are tacked on the her formal attire.
“How could you use your leg when you can use barrier?”
Eloanne sighs, the same questions every night; about her disability. “…because, I couldn’t save both my leg, and them so I made the easiest choice of my life. Can we possibly talk about something other than my biotech?”

You have the choice about where to go and what to do.
Choose wisely.

As the 4 members of the CGT, arrive they smile at the looks of the common folks and wave to the soldiers. Each appear to be carrying a small chest in their hands carved out of a silver colored material that seems alive, dancing and forming into different shapes on the surface of different animals that live below the seas. Upon arriving they ask to give a personal message to the current leader along with gifts of goodwill. " Our greetings people of the upper lands. We are Citizens of the Bijorian Colonies with the authority to act by our government. We only ask you to hear us out as we have no intention of ill will towards any member towards the surface. " They then open the four tiny living chests.

The first sparkles into life showing a beautiful 3d holographic image jumps to life. The incredibly high HD screen shows 4 massive underwater colonies, tiny mag trains and other transportation can be seen entering and leaving the colonies and schools of fish and other animals swim in a nearby beautifully cultivated underwater garden area. The domes of the buildings are opaque and the live view of the holographic city is almost breathtaking to behold. A tiny manta ray like barge slowly enters a nearby port like area, the hologram sparing no detail of the magnificent Azure city.

The second chest looks like a mask of some kind. Tiny electronic devices and switches, dance with LED lights. " This device turns water into oxygen, " explains the tall looking Bijorian calmly. " We would much enjoy your visits to our home, and see why it is well worth the effort in saving. "

The third Bijorian opens his chest carefully. A strange relaxing humming sound that wavers in tune that is soothing and has an almost hypnotic effect. " A Valveva plant, " he says smiling, " be careful to not look at it to long. We find it has an.. interesting effect, even on Bijorians. "

The Fourth and Final Bijorian opens his chest revealing a massive head sized purple jewel. It almost seems alive, gently pulsing in the small pool of reddish water. The chest emits a massive surge of heat. " The Ionic Stone of Dagon. " he says calmly. " it lives in the deepest pits in extreme heat and is almost sentient. There are only 5 in all existence that we know of. We ask you to take this, as a gift of goodwill. "

They offer their gifts to the guards and the first Bijorian steps forward. " I am Therogold. " he says smiling. " I am part of a Bijorian citizen group called, " The Clasp of Good Tides. " We have been watching your nations for awhile and many things you do alarm us. We do not wish to harm you, not at all. As citizens we only wish to educate you on our home, and our Nation in hopes of helping you see why it would be wise to change certain habits for the sake of our home. We are here in hopes of a peaceable, equitable and reasonable discussion with your people in a cooperative manner to help you learn and amaze you with the facts of our home. Your nation is the first in our passage of goodwill between the neighborhood of seas and sky. " With this he hands over a scroll.

" This is from our government, " he explains. " It gives us rights to open diplomatic channels with the surface world. We would be most grateful if you accept it. Even if we do not manage to influence the election we would hope that we would be allowed to remain here. Under no circumstance will we threaten you or any of your people. We are not here to wind windy words, only simplistic truths in hope of an open future. " With this he bows respectfully and the 4 strange creatures pass by into the building.

They thank the staff in broken landweller and enter the first room Gemini Room. They seem to be a bit shy at first reluctantly entering the room gazing around in undisguised amazement murmuring in what sounds like a slight humming sound that almost sounds like music. The notice Chairmaine Locke and walk over appearing a bit nervous. Locke looks up and sees three humanoid amphibious creatures, long hands and calm serene eyes smiling in a hopefully calm smile but she cannot help but notice long and sharp teeth. In broken Language the first straightens up and begins in his calm musical hum. " Greetings to you, Miss....Locke is it? I am Therogold, a member of the Bijorian citizen group " Clasp of Good Tides," a Ecologically friendly group from Bijoria, the colony under the seas. Might we have the pleasure of a conversation with or? We could wait. "

Bijoria
The poor, unfortunate soul who was Therogold’s first interaction was Colonel Reed. His left eye flashes green as he scans the individuals before him. Identifying no threat, he takes the first box into his hands. “On behalf of the Three United Empires, thank you for your gift. The future Empress will be given it post coronation. Please ma---” A second box opens. Colonel Reed takes the chest and begins again. ““On behalf of the Three United Empires, thank you for your gift. The future Empress will be given it post coro—” There’s a third box. He carefully balances the third chest atop the other two. ““On behalf of the Three United Empires, thank—” He takes the fourth box, and wished there was already an Empress to deal with everything already. “On behalf of the Three United Empires, thank you for your gift. The future Empress will be given it post coronation. Please make yourselves at home with us for the next three days. This first night is for you to become acquainted with the candidates and get settled in your rooms. You will find the agenda for the day listed on a paper that will be slipped under the door in the morning once the number of guests have been finalized.” The Bijorian entourage is each given a room of their own with their own accommodations.

Charmaine looks up from her wineglass in front of her. She eyes the individuals in front of her momentarily before smiling a bit- her fangs visible; though not as long as a pureblood. Size mattered. At least it had to the Empress. “Yes, it’s Locke. Charmain – proud descendant of Quissera. It is a pleasure to meet you.” She looks around at the lack of people willing to approach her. “I’m not sure if I’ll be able to hear you over the commotion everyone is making over me right now,” she remarks gently, though sarcasm was heavy.

“Yes, I have time to speak. You are actually the first one brave enough to approach me,” the side of her face sparks with a small electric current, but doesn’t go anywhere, receding into her hairline.

Therogold smiles slightly, " Is..Chairmain a title? Or a name? " They seat themselves comfortably before making themselves at home, Therogold pulls several papers out of his bag. " Miss Locke, we wish to show you our offer. " The paper shows several large numbers written in Bijorian. " Over the recent half decade, whale populations have dwindled alarmingly, pollution of the oceans, including radioactive wastes, garbage, and plastics have caused a massive decreases in wildlife after they have eaten, or gotten tangled in said garbage, and fish population have dwindled to dangerous levels. The garden," he says grimly, " has weeds in it. " He sits up. " What limited resources we have we are using to clean up the mess. But we need help. That is why we are here. " He sits up. " Rave Shentavo is our small groups first attempt with the surface to help mend things. With Rave Shentavo, we hope we can prove that change is possible. What we ask, as a candidate and likely heir to the throne we ask for your help and Bijoria would be more then willing to share culture, technology, or ideas. Rave Shentavo, " he says, more seriously, " would be the very first land based nation to engage with Bijoria since....the incident. " He stops and takes a deep breath. " Change will not be easy, there is a lot of mistrust from my fellow Bijorians, getting permission took us years. All we ask is for a chance to prove ourselves in return for any assistance we would be able to give to you in gaining your rightful place as heir. "

((Charmaine* damn autocorrect))

"Well, the first step to gathering assistance for your nation would be to have this one stable. Right now it isn't. You see, Ravelyn Shentavo ruled as Empress for most of our history. Through her power and the assistance of her family, she was able to control everything. People look at her like a goddess. Even that they equate her name to the name of our empire - because she molded this place. Some still do. This creates a variety of issues now. Firstly, whoever takes the throne will have a massive target on their head from the religious extremists. I really don't want the throne, truth be told - but no one else is strong enough in my opinion. They are going to look for someone to be able to do everything that Ravelyn was able to do. No one here is going to be able to do that. You have the best of what's left essentially; and some individuals who don't belong here at all."

"One thing is certain, whoever takes the throne should be open to outside relations. It's kind of one of the main things the empire does. The empire likes outside influences because they appreciate culture. I'm no exception - music specifically. My ask would be that you look at the situation after this is all over and throw your support behind who you think is best. I'll tell you one thing - they have to be strong enough to keep the throne after taking it - keep that in mind. You got a playboy people pleaser that will fall prey to corporations rather than control them. You have a prophet high on life or whatever she is smoking these days. Then you got a war vet who has capability, but that capability is limited to barriers and light telekine shit...that's not going to stop the attempts on her life. Then you got me; who will make sacrifices - but can keep the throne. Most people forget, Quissera had a reign as well..."

"Shits been so fucked up from the Shentavo family affair - people need stability, and they need a firm hand."

The 4 Bijorians share intrigued glances. " If.. you do not wish the throne, I could understand. This military person wouldn't be our first choice truth be told. However a strong military background would do well. A people's person who falls victim to environmental predators wouldn't either unless we could ensure his continued perserverence against predation. If I may say so, if you do not want the throne, which I can understand we can still be of use. In any of these cases Bijoria would be very very hesitant to offer military assistance but what we could offer is projects that could help ensure stability. Our power of action is very limited but we would be willing to help. If you tire of ruling we would offer an alternative. " They rise and Therogold offers a small card. " If you wish for a change of scenery please feel free to contact us. We would have many uses for a women of your talents and skillset. Thank you for your time Missess Locke. We will be in contact. "

The 4 Bijorians depart for the next room and have a seat quietly in the room.

Summerset Capital Spire, Rave Shentavo
2019, 15 May

Just as the Bijorians were leaving, a group of burly men entered the Gemini room. They bore the crest of the Novoluniye Coven, which looked like a red butterfly in a futuristic style, either on their coats or as a pin displayed on the collar. Standing in the middle was Koldan, the current heir to the coven, towering over his peers at 192 cm. He had the same informal, yet intimidating aura as his hostess. He sat before her, his blonde, slicked back hair glistening under the lights. "Hello, Charmaine Locke. I'm Koldan Novoluniye, heir and soon-to-be Patriarch of the Novoluniye Coven of the Empire of Amenria. Nice to meet you." His lips curved, but it seemed more like a smirk or a smug grin than an actual smile. He extended his hand for her to shake, assuming people shake hands upon first meeting in the nation.

Bijoria
The last words received from Charmaine in parting. “Just because I do not wish to hold the throne, doesn’t mean I shouldn’t. The aspect of obligation and loyalty are values engrained into us since creation.” She then eyes the Amenrian group approaching and gives them their full attention.

Amenria
“Hello Koldan Novoluniye,” Charmaine remarks looking him over as well as his entourage as if sizing up the situation. She reaches forward and grabs his hand. There is a static shock when their hands touch. She withdraws her hand. “Apologies, sometimes it’s difficult to keep under control depending on my thoughts. So tell me, soon-to-be Patriarch – is your retinue necessary for your protection? Are you that frightened of me to speak alone?” she raises a brow with a slight smile.

“Milady,” the two are interrupted by a female attendant. She’s wearing server attire with her hair pulled back and tucked tightly into a bun. The sunglasses seem out of place – though she may be photosensitive. She picks up the empty glass in front of Charmaine and refills it with the same red liquid. She sets an empty glass in front of Koldan and fills it as well; as if she simply knew. Service, of course, was always at it’s finest.

“Thank you…”

“Do you want a sedative added, Miss Locke?”

“No.”

“Very well,” she bows slightly. “Milady, Milord….” While very respectful to both in practiced certainty; she doesn’t seem afraid of either much to Charmaine’s chagrin. Charmaine glances over her shoulder and watches as the woman heads over to the Bijorian entourage.

Bijoria
The attendant walks over to the Bijorian entourage. “Are you gentlemen enjoying your evening? Are you in need of any refreshments? We have hundreds of options available, and outsourced products if necessary to meet your needs. I see you are without drinks, and this is a problem. What is your poison or pleasure gentlemen?”

A sudden look of surprise was painted upon the heir's face as he felt the shock from his handshake. "Was Charmaine an electromancer?" he wondered to himself. He took her next question as a form of humorous rhetoric that was either brave or reckless. Regardless, he laughed, with a deep voice that matched his appearance. "Now, now, if I'm gonna make plans, I'd better let my men into the discussion, right? I don't really want to say the same thing twice so I might as well have them tag along and listen to the discussion first hand." He glanced to the glass provided to him, which now had red liquid inside it. He took a sip and tried to guess its content. "AB human?" He presumed. It was a while since he had human blood, so his palate needed more time to discern the type by taste.

Charmaine raised her brow. "I see..." she reached forward to her glass. "That one...is AB human; one who only fed on citrus fruits and orchids for a week then donated to this event. We pay more for rarer kinds so a lot of students do it to pay off student loans. It's a win-win. While Ravelyn didn't feed off of humans, Quissera very much did and I've become accustomed to his tastes over the years..."

She swirls her glass, softly chuckling to herself. "So tell me - what plans would you like to make with me Koldan," she leans forward and sets her chin on her hands with a crooked grin.

"Sorry to be makin' assumptions, but I think we both understand it takes a strong hand to lead. Between you and me, I think the human ain't got the spine it takes, neither does the mage. I lend you the muscle you need to secure the throne, you give me the numbers and connections I need to take over my family. Times are changing, and we need to change with them, am I right?" Koldan raises his glass to take another sip of its nourishing contents.

Amenria

"It does take a strong hand to lead, we agree on this. I feel that the human would be too easily manipulated, the prophet to high, the mage too self-sacrificing to last longer than a day…you aren’t wrong." She leans back in her chair. “I don’t want the throne, but it’s an obligation…I need to take it because no one else can survive. You recognize that…”

The taste of the blood within the glass has floral accents. It’s unusual, to drink something enhanced specifically for taste. “I would be amenable to helping you secure your family, so long as you help secure my role here. They are used to an Empress who rules through love. I don’t think I can do that – what I know, is fear. What I know is displays of power go a long way; and what I know is that once our empire is stable, I will have no issue helping you deal with your family…but tell me – how is it you wish to deal with them? Will there be mass murder and destruction? How many do they have and what abilities?”

She eyes the entourage. “And you are certain that your retinue are all loyal to you – and not spying to see if you seek to supplant the current ruler?” She eyes the other nameless meat shields.

" Just some water please. " They say in broken and hesitant speech obviously perplexed. They gather around muttering quietly in what sounds like musical beatboxing, a machine gun-esque rapid fire of different sharp shortened taps and clacks each with different notes of highs and low. Their lack of knowledge in humans and the response seems to have shaken them. They wander away into Virgo their conversation fading away into the halls.

Bijoria

Shortly after you make the request, the server returns with four glasses of water on a tray and presents them in offering as you enter the Virgo room. "Please let me know if there is anything else you require."

Deliverance Dane is easy to spot. She has a full glass of an amber liquid and is peering into it as if it could tell the future. Unlike Charmaine, she notices you when you arrive and offers a warm smile.

The Bijorians take the water and they place a small crystal into the water. It fizzles slightly and they sip on it. Encouraged they make there way over and quietly await an opening in the conversation, sipping on the now forest green water their lidless pupils causing a few to look away in slight discomfort. Seeing an opportunity to say hello, the politely greet Dane, Therogold and his 3 compatriots seem to pickup on Danes belief as Therogold tucks away an amulet that is placed upon his chest. " Our greetings, Deliverance Dane, from the Bijorian people as well as the Elder Eye, Hierophant of the Watching Ones Who is granted his view of all the waves. We are from a civilian group called the Clasp Of Good Tides, having being welcomed by your government to set foreign policy. Might we have the chance to borrow your ear and learn of your desires?

Description. (OOC) Bijorians are tall, usually around 6-8 feet with skin that is well tanned and looking almost like finely crafted wood. Their hands are slightly webbed and each and has a tiny sharp piece of bone/calcium that can be extended with some concentration. Each " claw " holds a debilitating venom that is stored in the palm area only used in self defense against aggressive or predatory fauna. Bijorian eyes have 2 pupils that assist in seeing in dark or murky waters one pupil specializing in movement, the other in a heat based detection. Bijorians are most likely dressed in what appears to be white skinsuits, that double as armor some with designs that reflect personal, religious or political views. Tall and lanky, the move in a slight left to right step as they stride elegantly in water and land alike. Bijorian hair ranges from dark yellow to deep black often tied in a slight ponytail or chapped and placed into spikes. Skin color ranges from forest green, deep brown or a slight pale yellow. Rare Bijorians are able to change skin color almost at will but such skills are genetic and cannot be learned.

As George Proteus entered the Spire, he scanned the crowd and weighed his options. He had heard previously about some of the candidates, especially Halvar. The only male candidate seemed to be the early favorite among many of the businessmen Proteus knew, however the merman was not convinced himself. While he believed men made better leaders than women, he distrusted Halvar's charm, and rumors of his cheating the dna test strengthen his suspicion.

Knowing that to hedge his bets, he should meet with each candidate he considered entering the Gemini Room, but seeing it full of vampires, he decided to move onto the Aquarius Room. A good sign he said to himself with a smile as he entered.

The Pasifktian approached Eloanne Versai indirectly, taking a place to her side. He waited with an air of indifference for a pause in the conversation. Someone was asking an impertinent question about the imperial candidate's leg.

"Only someone who has never seen combat would ask that" he said to the armchair general with a hint of contempt. Then turning to Eloanne said "Some people are so ignorant." The questioner, now clearly insulted, was not happy.

Bijoria
The server nods and makes herself scarce from view.

“You too have those plagued by visions? Such a gift and a curse. The Clasp of Good Tides – you are concerned regarding the health of the environment then? You made the right choice in coming here then.” She motions towards the empty chair around her. As she speaks her voice is gentle, but tired.
“Tell me what it is you wish to accomplish?”

Pasifiktes

Eloanne turns over her should with a light smile. “I trust that you’ve seen combat then?” Eloanne has short champagne blonde hair and bright green eyes. A small scar on her eyebrow is barely noticeable in the light. She turns fully to face the individual that approached her. While small of stature she had a strong posture that generated an air of certainty and stability.

" Not visions per say, " Therogold said while settling down. " More like... pictures, really. Sudden flashes of sights of buildings lost to depths, a massive cathedral building floating underwater, its w9indows and doors sealed somewhere below us in the darkest abyss, visions of long, unbelievably long hallways stocked with all sorts of items, and books on subjects long lost. Perhaps we are suppose to find it, We have yet to determine where it lies and if its even within our grasp. "

The others look very uncomfortable and as if picking up on this Therogold sips his water before clearing his throat. " Miss Deliverance, May I call you that? The Clasp of Good Tides wishes to help the land dwelling nations embrace a better form of environmentally friendly attitudes as well as emptying the oceans of its garbage, to the best of our limited ability and ensuring the oceans are healthy. However to DO this we are to understand your nation requires a strong, and proper leader. We understand the choices are very limited as are the potential and the dangers. Even being here we understand should you come to power you would be in constant danger. Rave Shentavo is one of the first attempts at making contact with the land based nations. A..test you could say." He leans forward a bit his face serious.

" The situation in Bijoria, its environmental state is at an all time crisis state, radioactive wastes in our oceans, garbage killing the fauna, Nuclear tests disturbing Old Stephan. SHOULD he awaken, his wrath will be terrible upon Bijoria, we lack the military power to dissuade him from attacking Bijoria should his migratory pattern change from its usual 3-4.5 mile maximum range. " He sees the curious look upon Danes Face and explained. " Old Stephan is a Abyssal Leviathan, the last of his species that we know of. He, we think its a male is 3500 feet long and mostly resides on thermal energy from deep water vents. He is...600? 700? " The others nod to confirm the estimation and Therogold continues. " Bijoria has long had nothing to do with the surface world but the situation has escalated to the point of it being a top priority. Rave Shentavo is the first of many we hope. We have so much to show you, "

his voice rising in excitement, the musical hum of his accent a quiet buzz. If you became The new Empress we would hope you could learn much. You seem like the type who would love to learn somthing new. "

He leans back. " Old Stephan and his kind have been a part of Bijorians Marine legend for eons. His predecess and sire Melville the monsterous sank 45 Bijorian cruisers before he finally disappeared off the face of our surveys, but not before he trashed a abyssal observatory. We think Stephan had something to do with it but our studies cannot confirm this hypothesis. A magnificent creature just like many others. Think about it Miss Dane, an entirely new spectrum of study to open. Not only that your nation would be enriched by this experience. Scientifically, culturally and historically. We have so many ideas and possibilities to offer. Imagine for example an entirely new aquarium based on abyssal life. Visits to places you have never seen before maybe Bijoria itself! Of course we would have much work to do. What about you? What's your vision? "

"It was more of a taste of combat, I didn't like it so I spit it out" replied Proteus, his air of difference momentarily disappearing. Looking down at his shark skin boots he said "but that was long ago, in my youth." Then facing Eloanne again, he changed the subject. "I am George Proteus, by the way." He offered his hand as he spoke. "I have a feeling that before this succession is done and settled we will all get a chance to see some real fighting." The merman sounded more sure of the prosect of civil war, than he was, but he thought it best to see what the candidate thought.

Ander cleared his nose again. The lack of a mask bothered him.The air wasn't right to a man who'd been used to dust storms with helping of rad hazards for his whole life, though the chance to head out of country and visit one of the few nations still regarded with some trust would have felt much more wrong.
Reviewing the candidates on the way in truly interested him, ties to great rivals and loves of national heroes, for he now he had to help decide which of these descendants of legends would be fit to rule. From the information at hand and his own awkwardness to the world outside the homeland.

Collecting a whiskey, he approached the Aquarius room in some preparation for the madness of politics.
Eloanne Versai seemed to already be in conversation with two other so instead of simply joining he sat near them and listened, watching the three interact together and letting him take note of the potential empress's mannerisms. All the while steeling his nerves with the soothing whiskey and trying not to feel too out of place.

Dom stood in front of the spire, casting his gaze upwards. The crowd around him was clamoring to see whoever made it past security, and the ticket in his pocket would end his brief time as just another part of a crowd. Standing there without the blank white mask he wore whenever in public in Sigma Octavus, that which marked him as the Archon, was certainly a refreshing feeling. The plain grey suit and black shemagh perched on his shoulders might have been an odd combo, but he didn't much care.

His mouth twitched up into a smirk, his eyes narrowing behind his sunglasses. It was time to take the step out of anonymity and meddle in the affairs of another nation once again. The fact that it was the first time he'd received a physical invitation to a regime change made him grin broadly for just a second, flashing razor sharp teeth filling his mouth for only a second. He fought it back to the smirk, knowing that in a nation with a history of vampiric rule it could draw more attention than he wanted.

Stepping up to the threshold of the military line and presenting his invitation got the crowd worked up behind him. He knew the kind of security he would expect for an event such as this one, and complied with their demands. Once clear, he took his sunglasses off and approached the towering building with a calm walk.

As he was shown to his lodgings, he thought on what he knew of the candidates he was here to judge. He'd greet them all in turn, but he knew where he was headed first. Halvar had caught his interest, but not in a positive way. Dom had always kept an eye on any news coming from Ravelyn's empire, and he didn't trust the man. Smooth talkers often made terrible rulers in his long experience.

The Leo room was filled with laughter, centered around the man he was looking for. He moved through the crowd with practiced ease, eventually coming to the inner circle of people Halvar was entertaining. As the laughter from his joke died down, Dominic made his move. He stepped up, holding out a hand in greeting.

"Dominic Wrathe, Archon of Sigma Octavus." He grinned widely, and cut straight to the chase. "You seem to be quite the attraction."

“Well, if you wanted to seek out another nation for their military prowess, then you certainly chose the right one to begin with – that’s where most of our spending goes – I’ve been told,” she remarks. “And you are right – I always like to learn new things. I think that knowledge is where true power lies. Those who tell themselves otherwise do not know it’s worth. It would certainly be a terrible thing for an entire culture to be ravaged by war. Has your government ceased all nuclear tests since the revelation – or do they persist?”

“My vision – well. I see several paths that this could go – I never see exactly what will happen, but rather what could possibly happen given certain choices. I would like to see our nation invest more into education then towards war. I think that the nation needs to establish an identity apart from Ravelyn. Only then will we truly be able to close that era and move forward.

Pasifiktes
Eloanne shakes her hand. “I hope it doesn’t come to that. Given track records of previous diplomatic events within our empire, it is likely. But again, I think that we are mature enough to be able to solve this diplomatically barring any unforeseen circumstances.” She picked up her drink in her hand – ginger ale – because being wasted at a diplomatic event was not her ideal evening.
“I have concerns that our nation will not be able to move on from the idea that their savior is going to return. She ruled for such a long time – and her power…no one could question it. Now you are faced of remnants of a regime. What are the people expecting? None of us can accomplish all of what she could…I imagine, civil war may break out again if the presentation and choice are not aligned with what the people hope for.”

Phalanix
A server with black hair tied back into a bun and rectangular sunglasses approaches Andre with his glass of whiskey and hands it off before heading to attend to the next individual. There are several individuals around the room engaged in conversations with servers, with other guests. The air seemed to buzz with gossip and “what-ifs”

Sigma Octavus
You get the uneasy feeling that someone is watching you – but as soon as you notice it disappears as quickly as it came. The feeling diminishes as you get closer and closer to Halvar; but you can still feel that nagging feeling like you missed something on the way here.

“Dominic Wrathe?” Halvar takes his hand with a warm smile. It’s a bit sickening just because its so good. He was like the poster child for ‘how to sell snake oil”. “It’s a pleasure to meet you; you already know who I am…” unlike the other rooms this room seemed to gravitate around him like a vortex. “Sigma Octavus? It warms my heart that you still have connections with this empire. With the Empress gone, we were uncertain whether or not we would see someone from there again.”

"While it is true my people rarely leave the nation of late, I've always had a bit of wanderlust." Halvar's smile was one Dominic was too familiar with. Practiced for maximum effect. "It has been far too long since I've been to the Empires as it is, and I couldn't turn down the invitation."

He gave a practiced, nonchalant glance around the room, knowing he'd been watched. He would have expected nothing less, but the source of the attention eluded him. Gatherings of this magnitude attracted the most dangerous people, and just knowing that made the trip worth the effort. He set his gaze back on Halvar. A man like that could be anything he wanted, but he wanted to rule a nation he potentially had no claim to.

"So, I must ask. Why the interest in the throne? Rule can be rather tedious and unrewarding."
