Ok so after writing up a few apps only to figure out I didn't like the character I created all that much, I think I've finally found a character idea I like a lot and can work with. However, it involves just a few things I feel like I want to get permission on before I really get into the nitty-gritty of writing the app for the Vermont Senator.

1) Is it ok if she's an Independent who caucuses with the Progressives?

2) Is it ok if she's Nelson Rockefeller's kid?

Number 1 should be fine

Number 2 isn't really an immediate disqualification, but I'd definitely lean against making a character a descendant of an IRL bigshot, especially first gen

Half feeding in massively to a hotshot style narrative, half putting the character in a position where they're either mucking around with a RL historical figure's personality and background or they can't get any real character development/family roleplay or bio

Finally, we need to preserve our religious values. America was built upon the foundation of religion, and in today’s society, religion is at risk. I am a Hindu, but Christian values are ones that I truly respect, and we need to come together as religious people. In today’s world, our values are under attack under the name of “diversity,” and it is even more ironic that the people claiming this are usually former christians themselves. I am not Christian, yet Christianity is a religion I have undoubted respect for, and I will not stand idle as this idea is attacked.

So does that mean he is a Hindu but respects Christian values more than Hindu values?

Think of Dennis Prager’s attitude towards Christianity while he himself is an orthodox Jew, that’s similar to what I was going for

Guess I just don't know where to re-insert my character, particularly since I assumed he'd not be in the dugout but would be in the stands spectating but yet is now among a group that are on the team.

He'd probably get more chances for conversation as a player but it's totally fine for him to spectate

I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to him being a player, but I thought the roster was set and he wasn't on it.

Nope, still open

Also as is currently a problem IC any member of the caucus is free to join the team, the cap just decides who plays, so he'd be fine anyways

Just caught the typo that said Ashe disliked Fowler in my post, I fixed it to read Kramer as you probably assumed from context.

Oh, no, good thing I clarified then, I only caught it after rereading it after your post. No, despite cracking a cheap, quick joke at Fowler's expense, it's all in good fun and Ashe - as far I've seen - has no reason to dislike Fowler.

I don't think he has a specific reason. I'd assumed with the first bit that he was sharing dislike with Amaras. Fowler's one of the most liberal Republicans in the Senate and generally has had a habit of making enemies + frustrating some of the Reed agenda, he and Am haven't gotten along. Though they seem to be doing better recently, just had a meeting and Fowler has mellowed some since his start, less rebellious and hasn't messed up relationships as much.

Ah, Ashe would probably have respect for Fowler as a person and fellow Republican even if he is more moderate, but Ashe is more conservative for the most part.

Still toying around with another politician in the back of my head, but I'm going to stick with Ashe for a bit before expanding to two politicians.
