Some Christians get upset by religious stuff that rejects Christianity, others do not mind reading it and rejecting it.
I am not sure where you fall in that.

Well sure, for it to make sense you have to be literally suicidal as Dugin’s goal is to literally destroy the world and all that.

No, as in the actual physical world. As in, Dugin's ultimate goal is to unmake reality itself. Pardon my language, but that shit's wack my dude.

I think by "accursed Tree of Knowledge", Dugin is referring to Liberalism and all its claptrap; "the World" with all its pleasures and temptations. He's saying the only way for things to move forward is to destroy Liberalism.

Absolutely.
Their work shares many parallels. Fake history, check.
Ancient Manichean struggle continuing today, check.
External pseudo Christian symbolism to draw in Christians, check.
High fantasy mixed with eclectic political and religious ideas, check.
Not differentiation between such fantasy and reality, double check.

Of course L Ron Hubbard draws from 1950s Sci Fi over Esoteric Nazism.

Their influences are different, but the are certainly bear many similarities.

If I may, and please forgive me if I seem boorish, but I find the explanation of "it's just a figure of speech" to be unlikely, especially given one of Dugin's influences, the fascist turbo-mystic Evola.

Why? did Evola reject Metaphor or Abstraction?

I have some reading suggestions that might be good to add onto this thread, Old Tyrannia.

Revolt Against the Modern World, Julius Evola

Political Theology, Carl Schmitt

Ethnos and Society, Aleksandr Dugin

That is like saying David Icke really is talking about Jews, not actual Lizzards.

I guess you missed the death part. The purpose of Russia is to die, according to him.
Yes he believes the entire material world is evil and should be destroyed.
But you live in the material world too.
So does Russia.

No, Dugin's plan is not to unmake reality, but to return to a previous, sacred existence. Dugin rejects the relativism and nihilism of modernity. This does not make him a nihilist for opposing nihilism.
