I can't stand gyms..

I windsurf most weekends and then tennis on Tuesday nights, both seem far more enjoyable, social and less need to admire oneself in mirrors than pounding the gym.

Having said that I accept I live somewhere I can get out and windsurf and play tennis for very little cost. This weekend a turtle swam directly under my board, I think that's part of why I prefer exercise that is actually outdoors.

It was as I was coming in so it was right under my board in clear water near the beach, highlight of my weekend. However my general point is if you want to run, go run outside..

..beyond that there are certain sports that lend themselves to community, windsurfing and diving are similar in that regard. Some of the best moments haven't even been out in the water, rather just rigging your sail with a bunch of people lending advice and tips and ribbing each other about each other's advice.

Thing is I find the idea of gyms just.. bleugh..

That’s so nice!!
In regards to running, it too lends itself to community. My best runs weren’t me setting PR’s, but rather the practice runs where I’m with my friends and we just talk while we run.

Besides the gym, I tend to go swimming as I have a pool and I also am a player in a competitive football team which definitely helps. I enjoy the outdoors too but the pump you get from free weights feel really really good

Well, to be quite honest, i'm not in the best spot atm. My weight is average for a girl but I just keep seeing myself as fat. All around wild changes in weight

But i'm finally going back to swimming this week hopefully, and swimming is pretty cool, so that's also cool.

The only times I have worked out is during Summer Band and After School Band practices. And since we're out of marching season I haven't been working out that much. I have fast metabolism though I'm not going to rely on that through out my life.

I promised myself that when I reach my late 20s or reach 30 I would start working out, so I don't end up with a dad bod XD

Nothing wrong with any body shape, healthy and appearance are 2 different things imo. Ive personally never experienced drastic weight changes so cant comment on that.

Swimming however is without a doubt cool. Literally cool. I live in a generally hot place so getting wet is a refreshing feeling. Lap swimming is really good for cardiovascular training and its so easy that I dont know if Im exercising or having fun.

I don't consider the current place i'm living in as "hot" because the other 2 countries I used to live in were without a doubt hotter, so i'm used to hot environments. Swimming is awesome, you just feel so energetic and feel that you're doing progress with your body. It exercises most parts of the body, so that's a plus for sure.

That's another advantage of windsurfing, anytime it's too hot I just drop into the water - and if I'm tired I can just sit on the board out in the bay and rest.

Tennis is different, especially on clay courts.. given the humidity it's really like doing a marathon in a sauna.

No handball in Murica? We have a handball team down here, its fun sport.

I assume u mean based European handball and not shitty playground handball 8)

There’s one, but it’s a summer league only, and I’ll be visiting my family back in Spain over the summer, so…

Of course.

When I was younger and lived in a country with incredibly hot climate, we had tennis clases in my school (It was a small school with a focus on outside activities) and the court was composed of red sand. We'd stay there for an hour each week playing Tennis below the scorching sun on a sand field. Then again, it was really fun.

My workout is high intensity weightlifting for biceps/triceps/neck/core and lots of walking on a daily basis. I've build a pretty good physique over the last 5 years BUT it should be noted that being fit and strong doesn't imply good health. You still need to eat good food. Being fit won't stop your pancreas from imploding if you overload it with sugars 24/7, for example.

Diet really is the most important part and you cannot outrun a bad diet.

It is already too late by then, I know this because I'm 30. You need to start exercising at age 10 if not earlier, to get into the Chuck Norris tier of legendary physique. Our best days are constantly behind us. It only gets harder as time progresses.

My diet's pretty bad. Too many choco biscuits at work and too many lazy takeaways. When you're prone to low mood and anxiety it's easy to slip into using food for energy, comfort or an excuse for a break.

Only teetering on the edge of normal/overweight rather than being a blubberbus, but I need to try and cut down a bit on the lazy lapses. Do that and keep up the 40min lunchtime walks I've taken up in the past year and it shouldn't be too difficult to get myself back in order.

If you're male, the best way I know of is to quit masturbating. From experience, I know a heavy habit causes hair loss to some extent. Usually your hair thins first, as opposed to any noticeable loss. If you're bald like George Costanza, it might be more fashionable to go completely bald as opposed to leaving the sides intact.

From my perspective, I've verified the legend to be true for the most part. If your endocrine system is too imbalanced or screwed up, over a long enough period of time; of course you'll be balder and in worser shape overall internally.

It is an imbalance and stress that is self inflicted. Your hormones can't get to the right or optimal balance if poor habits or self abuse is getting in the way of that. Another example of this can simply be choosing to stay up one night and skip out on the sleep you require. Nearly everyone is neglectful towards themselves, because every day presents good and bad choices.
