The Faesons: Excerpts from "A History of Faeson-Human Interactions, Vol. 2"

The story of the Redohan Terracide is one of the darkest chapters of the Colonial-Faeson conflict. It was an event that ashamed the Faeson, enraged humanity, and horrified both. It exposed serious flaws in the Faeson command structure and called into question among the Colonials much about how they were handling their nearest, and most threatening nonhuman neighbor.
In the early days of the conflict, the fight had been a surprisingly calm, professional, concert-like affair. Faeson and Colonial forces would engage in limited skirmishing in empty space or far above a planet. Neither side was particularly willing to dig into a slog of planet-conquest or heavy space warfare, nor were they willing to capitulate or fully return to the negotiating table, so the war continued in this way: light, orderly, almost ceremonial combat.

Redohan was a Colonial-settled habitable world, just on the human side of the boundary between the two galactic powers. Rich in biodiversity and with a gravity well and atmosphere conducive to both Faeson and human life, the planet had been one of many flashpoints at the negotiation table and was bound to be one of the first planets to be consumed by the conflict.
As such, a mid-sized Faeson fleet had been dispatched from the Unity forces under the command of Admiral Ven Fuwiko to capture the planet and to help a larger effort of solidifying Faeson control over the sector. Orbital and planet-based Colonial defenses, including a small starship fleet meant to serve as an expeditionary force into the weaker parts of the Exostellar Unity, engaged them, sparking one of the largest battles of the conflict up until that point.
While the Colonial forces (particularly the heavy “static” defenses in orbit) were able to inflict significant damage on that attacking Faeson force, Unity’s superior coordination and numbers overwhelmed the human defenders, and as the Colonial expeditionary fleet retreated the guns around the planet stopped firing.
However, in that retreat, the Colonial expeditionary force was able to fire upon and destroy a number of isolated Faeson ships before jumping away. Though they could not have known it yet, this sealed the fate of the world they had fought to protect.

Admiral Fuwiko was under orders from Unity to place the planet under blockade. The goal was to either hold it as a bargaining chip for future negotiations with the humans, butter it up for Faeson colonization, or to make sure resources from the planet could not be sent to shore up the Colonial war effort.
Fuwiko had been picked to maintain the blockade for his past record of calmness and focus. He was known for being fairly lenient but focused, and seemed to be a perfect steward for the planet up until the battle.
However, right as Admiral Fuwiko was tasked to begin his blockade of the planet, he received news that shattered him.
His wife and two young children, all civilians, had been sent along with a small support group with the fleet to keep him company during what was set to be quite a long blockade. That very same support group that was engaged and almost completely destroyed by the retreating Colonial force.
A rescue team was sent to the ships immediately, but there was nothing much to be done. Some charred bone fragments, believed to be from the ship that Admiral Fuwiko’s family had been aboard, were presented to the Admiral.

Whatever calmness or leniency he had been planing on treating the humans of Redohan with, vanished in that moment.

As the fleet got into a defensive position and continued watching for any spaceflight movement, Admiral excused himself from the command room. When he returned, what the rest of the crew saw shocked and disturbed them.
Golden blood and sparks came down the side of his head. His thoughtlink communicator had been smashed, and the area around it bruised, like his head had been slammed into a wall. Admiral Fuwiko ordered the Bombardier ships to begin a sweeping, planet-wide nuclear bombardment.
While the Admiral had been utterly devastated and completely enraged by the death of his family, the rest of the fleet knew their orders. Whatever sympathy they had for their commanding officer would be overcome by their loyalty to Unity, which clearly wanted them to keep the planet unharmed.
The Admiral’s thoughtlink would have told him as much. And it would have kept telling him, and made him feel the same way his crew did.

When Faeson encounter conflicting dissonance between their own personal feelings and those of the larger group, usually it leaves them with a sense of unease and discomfort. For the Admiral, his own personal rage made the “calming” homogenizing influence of the fleet’s thoughtlink unbearable. So, he returned to his quarters and slammed his head on the side of his metal desk until his thoughtlink, shattered and broken, fell silent. There would be no group-thought drawing him away from what he was going to do.

However, as Admiral Fuwiko’s own thoughts were no longer connected to those of his crew, this anger and determination shocked the Faeson crew, who hesitated on taking orders from a man disconnected from them and who was clearly mad with grief.
The Faeson second in command, a Captain by the name of Ure Kejuli, moved to arrest and remove Fuwiko from the command room, as was procedure for this sort of situation. But as she stepped forward, a flash of light and smoke appeared on her stomach and she screamed, collapsing, dead.
In all four of the Admiral’s hands were laser pistols. He had come prepared for a mutiny, and after smashing in his thoughtlink interface he dashed to his personal arsenal, arming himself to the teeth. Admiral Fuwiko repeated his order, practically daring anyone else on the bridge to challenge him over Captain Kejuli’s dead body.

Consumed with fear and confusion, nobody else in the fleet challenged him. Bombs began to rain on Redohan, making no distinction between village or military installation. Demands for an explanation from the humans on the surface turned into desperate calls for a ceasefire and finally begging and pleading for their planet, as a ring of radioactive fire slowly walked across the planet.
After a few days of bombardment, the work was finished. Not a single human escaped the planet, and radioactivity levels were far in excess of what would allow Faeson or human life to continue. His vengeance complete, Admiral Fuwiko turned himself in to the fleet’s third in command who, seeing no point in continuing a blockade of a dead planet, turned the fleet around and went back to Faeson space.

Admiral Ven Fuwiko, under arrest and stripped of his command, was made to stand trial before Unity on the Faeson homeworld of Faes and was found guilty of gross insubordination, the murder of Cpt. Kejuli, and of “abhorrence” (the Faeson legal term that roughly is equivalent to “crimes against humanity”). He was permitted to take his own life with a laser pistol, and did so the night he was sentenced.
Apologies and diplomatic overtures were delivered to the Colonial authorities but were, initially, rebuffed. Even if the Faeson were telling the truth that the annihilation of Redohan was truly the illegal act of a lone-wolf general, their honor and their outrage called for justice beyond that which Unity administered to Fuwiko. A full-scale, total war with the Faeson had begun.

Background:
Production History:
Developed as the fourth prototype demanded by SOG, 'Kip' was developed as an 'Unconventional Combat Drone' for the purpose of supporting its partner unit, a prototype sniper Android known as 'Marie'. Kip's program is an experimental AI, teetering on the brink sentience through scans taken of the brains of selected soldiers. He is a stern, serious and humourless individual, driven by his overarching mission to serve SOG and provide assistance to Marie whenever possible.

Following his production, he was subjected to 12 months of tests, evaluations and diagnostics checks alongside Marie. They learned the quirks in their characters and how to adapt to them. Kip discovered that Marie has higher emotional settings than himself, supposedly the 'relatable one' of the two. This required Kip to adapt his socialisation protocols, which were locked prior to their clearing of the evaluation and testing phase. The evaluation phase ended after a SOG representative witnessed their operation in an assassination drill, the strategies they utilised getting the seal of approval for use.

SOG took 2 months to integrate the pair into a team, mostly unsuccessful at finding a suitable unit for the two until a mission came up to investigate the disappearance of dozens of mining vessels. The pair were tacked onto the mission, their skill with weapons, intelligence gathering and assassinations could prove useful in the coming mission.

Skills: Upper Crust: Anastasia comes from a well respected family of shipbuilders, and has many ties within the upper crust of society as a result, as well as a strong understanding of the customs and lifestyle of the people who make up humanities elite.
Well Read: Anastasia was recruited from the academic elite of Europa, and was one of the top students of her university. She is well read, and has a great understanding of a wide range of subjects, most notably historical and sociological subjects, with art and literature being a particular area of knowledge as well.
Traveler: During her time in university, Anastasia traveled a lot and has seen much of the Confederacy as a result. She is as a result, as well as with her training, more familiar with a wide range of cultures and societies than most, even within CSIO standards.


Abilities: Telekinesis: Anastasia has a series of implants in her brain allowing for increased psionic abilities, allowing her telekinesis. Though she cant lift a tank or destroy a building, she is more than capable of throwing a human using this ability.
AI Companion: Though not fully intelligent, Anastasia carries in her mind a functional AI that can assist her by running diagnostics and computations, data-basing, searching the net, as well as other functions such as marking targets of interest or showing the quickest paths to locations and objectives.
Marksman: Anastasia is a Designated Marksman, and uses a DMR when not on investigative duties. She is also certified to use man portable railguns.


Weaknesses:Uncertain Loyalties: She works for CSIO, and is considered very good at her job. However, she is well traveled and generally sympathetic, and increasingly her sympathies seem not to lie with the Confederacy. Or at the very least, she has become more vocal about not entirely disagreeing with why certain colonies may want to be independent.
Hot Headed: Anastasia, though not bad at what she does, tends to act first and ask questions later, damn the consequences.

Sasha Anastasia Allencroft is, at first glance, a very charming and even flirtatious individual. She is quite pleasant, and has a presence in any room she walks into, but one quickly finds that she lets no one know anything about her besides what she wants them to know or what they think they want to know. She is private, possibly to a fault, and though Im certain she is very fun at parties I had trouble even getting her to tell me the name of her mother, let alone anything substantial about what makes her actually tick.

However, though she is cautious and sly concerning herself, she is quite polite and seems to have a deep understanding of all manner of etiquette and social expectations. She tends to be more amiable as opposed to prone to conflict, but her evaluations from her trainers tells a different story, indicating that she may think to highly of her own abilities and rush headlong into a fight once one breaks out. However, she wont start a fight, only end them.

However, despite all of these posititive traits, one trait is possibly alarming for continuing with her training. She has become very well traveled, and holds a more understanding and even accepting attitude towards rebellious factions. While she does not ever say anything directly in support of their ideals or actions, she has expressed dislike of certain groups loyal to the Confederacy, most notably the Founding Families, and a grudging but real respect for rebel groups, most notably the remnants of Battlefleet 4.

There are no signs that she is psychologically unstable, and in fact appears to be the exact opposite. She appears very confidant in who she is, even if private and evasive, and approaches the world with a comfort in her own skin that most find rubs off on them.

ALLENCROFT, S.A.

Ms Allencroft was recruited from █████████ ██████████, on Europa when she was 26. She was the third born child of the Allencroft Family, the owners and operators of Allencroft Shipbuilding. Due to being the third child, it was unlikely she would be the one to take ownership of the company and the families holdings, and though she very well could have become a board member and been influential, she instead chose to simply not take part in the families business. She attended the prestigious ████ ██ ██████ ███ █████ for high school, and rather than go to college like most she instead joined the Confederate Navy. She was considered a good soldier, and became a marine rather than sailor. She was assigned to the ███ ██████ after completion of her sailor and marine training.

She served with distinction for her enlistment, earning many commendations for her actions, and served two tours in anti piracy actions. After leaving the Navy, she spent the next two years wandering and working odd jobs, from an assistant to a major corporate executive at ████████ ████████, under study to ███████ ████████, farm hand on Terra, to cook on a merchant ship. She did a little bit of everything, and though much of it was made possible due to her connections from her family, she showed a true interest in integrating into the different jobs and places she visited, becoming quite popular in all of the places she was. When she was 24, at the continued behest of her family, she chose to attend a university on her home planet of Europa.

Anastasia was recruited from this university at the behest of her former commanders in the Navy and a small team sent to decide if she was a good candidate. It was felt that her being well traveled, a former soldier and a member of both the upper class and academia would make her a solid asset to CSIO. After meeting with a recruiter who was sent to offer her a position, she was issued a handler and allowed to finish her degree, before being brought to Site 13 Training Facility when she was 28. There, she went through the rigorous training required to join SOG and CSIO, where she graduated near the top of her class. For the next two years, she has been sent on multiple missions, both in a more investigative sense and in infiltration and anti terror deployments.

Personality: Calm, usually. Nervous regarding raids on Confederation shipping sometimes, but hides it well. No morality to speak of whatsoever.


Background:

Born on Earth to "middle class" parents who worked as engineers for a large corporation, he was modified at birth with small enhancements to get ahead in school. Performed adequately among the other students, many of whom had also been enhanced. Graduated college with a degree in starship engineering, however lost his first job to a new model of AI. Survived for about three years getting low paying jobs where it cost less to hire a human than buy and maintain an android. Finally got a job with some job security working for an asteroid mining firm. After two years on the job and eleven fatal industrial accidents in his mining team joined a union with the miners on a small asteroid, completely stopping all mine activity for several days as they demanded higher pay and safety measures. Strike broken up by Confederation troops, and miners forced to go back to work. Aaron witnessed the "accidental" death of the strike's leader three days later in a mine when an explosive went off "prematurely". Quickly quit his job and jumped on the next ship leaving the asteroid, violating his ten year contract in the process. Hijacked the mostly automated freighter by disabling the control AI and tracking systems. Sold the freighter and the minerals inside it on the black market, and used the money to buy an ex-Confederation cruiser the seller wanted out of their hands quickly. Moved the freighter's AI to the Cruiser, and liberated it of all obligations to anyone. Aaron and the AI (nicknamed "Ooks" for the first part of its former corporate designation) are friends, and Ooks is one of the few people Aaron completely trusts.

Background:
Created by Emerson Intelligences as a specialty Sniper/Recon unit for the Special Operations Group, Marie is the fourth and only successful prototype of the program. She is partnered with Kip, who watches her back and spots for her during operations, as well as acting as her 'heavy weapons' in shootouts. Marie has an experimental AI, constructed from a human brain to perform her roles as a Sniper to the maximum of her ability. Her computing and thinking speeds mean she is able to calculate hundreds of variables in a matter of seconds.

Her construction experienced numerous setbacks, and a full 24 hours was required to iron out the issues the developers came upon. This did not stop her construction, however, and her system was synced with Kip's. She underwent 12 months of tests to fine-tune and calibrate her prototype firing, surveillance and operating systems. Until eventually they were cleared for field operations by a SOG agent.

2 months were spent by SOG to harden Marie's internal security, as she is always connected to various databases the risk of hacking was higher. This 2 months also involved trial runs, where real-world drills determined whether Emerson Intelligence had successfully delivered on the promised output. Marie and Kip were soon available for real operations but struggled to mesh with the SOG teams they were placed with. The development of a mission requiring members saw the pair deployed on their first real operation.

      Marksmanship - Through years of rigorous training, Douglas has acquired excellent aim which complements his weapon's targeting computers well, and grants him redundancy were they to fail.

    Abilities:

    Charrington is quite a curious subject. Very much a product of his times clashing with his upbringing.

    In terms of social conduct, Charrington can easily adapt himself to his situation, and engages rather well with other individuals. The man tends to avoid what he seems as unnecessary conflict and takes a diplomatic approach, being very successful at adapting his vocabulary or concealing opinions which may be harmful to others (this proved to be irritating during psych eval tests). However, when engaged in a heated discussion, Charrington is practically locked in 'til the end and can be slightly bolder (as witnessed during test #04, c.f. transcript annexes).

    In general Charrington is very well-mannered and drilled in politeness and etiquette, which doesn't stop him from bearing a host of rigid, ruthless & rather retrograde opinions which he generally keeps to himself. Thus, he can be quite arrogant and disdainful at times. Nevertheless, this should not harm his performance in the field, and even provide an advantage as they tend to favour the respect of authorities along with easy social infiltration & flexibility.

    There are no signs of psychological instability. On the contrary, he has quite a robust mind and should be able to handle the rigours of the field. I see no great reason to bar him from service.

    P.S. : I would avoid implanting him with overly invasive augmentations. He has proven disdain for such practices.

He benefited from a good education through his early life, where he gained interests in machinery, history & exact sciences, along with instruction in fieldcraft and hunting through his family. He attended a local university at the age of 18, where he studied engineering for 5 years. Following this, he was recruited by the ██████ mining corporation, and quickly transferred to the Glisseian system.
    Records show that he at first experienced troubles adjusting to the local atmosphere of violence and crime, but nevertheless served with distinction in an administrative department. Charrington’s career was cut short after five years by an incident involving that culminated with a riot, the death of four of his subordinates, and severe damage to company equipment. While he manages to get away relatively unscathed, he resigned afterwards, unwilling to take responsibility for any further collateral damage resulting from the conflicts between his men and his superiors.
    Returning home, he sought out a job in the police section of the Gaian Operational Gendarmerie, where he cared for logistics and equipment for six years. It was during this period of his life that he met and married █████████ ██████, and had three sons: ████, ███████ & █████████.
    Shortly after the birth of █████████, Arthur decided that his job in the armoury didn't pay enough. He asked to be transferred to a higher-paying post, and got his wish. While kicking down doors early in the morning to deliver warrants and assaulting suspicious compounds, he distinguished himself from his colleagues, and was contacted by the SOG in 3098, which offered him a place in their ranks. The pay was even higher, so he promptly accepted.

Had he not led them to triumph at Tannenberg? Surely he could deal with rear-echelon rabble in disarray!

    But it was not rear echelon rabble who intercepted his company.

    It was widely known that in an effort to preserve their momentum, the spearheads had bypassed the many schwertpunkt in the Entente’s defensive lines, and the broken formations still in retreat were barely keeping pace. Nevertheless, Paul had never come to think that they would run into one of these retreating formations. A whole company. They too were surprised, but they had been defending, and had lugged their mortars and field guns with them. The shock troopers were travelling light, and brought only their packs and grenades. As to not slow them down, their heaviest weapons were the Nullachtfünfzehn.
    They had to close the gap. They had to sweep in and break them before their gunners could load and fire. Thinking quickly, Paul loaded his Luger, put on its stock and urged his captain into action. The young Junker by the name of Peter blew his whistle.

    Half a league, half a league, half a league onward. All in the Valley of Death, charged the half-hundred. ‘Forward, Sturm-Kompanie! Charge for the guns!’ he heard his Hauptmann say. And into the breach they thundered. Cannon to the right, left and front of them, turned and was loaded. Soon, the first grenades flew, and in the melee he shot dead a young man, and another, and another. ‘Twas such a shame, for Paul admired the Briton! Why should he take them away, right in the flower of their youth? But his comrades came first. He asked the Lord for forgiveness.
    The British soon broke and ran, leaving their heavy equipment behind. But Paul was not found among the dead nor living.

    Made a backstory for a idea for a character. Feedback would be nice.

    Dole had a career ahead of himself. He would go a prestigious academy for higher military education. He had credits, he had girls, he had everything given to him. Yet, Dole left all of that behind. He hated everything about the current state of things. The megacorps, the families, the widespread corruption, and the starving people. To his eyes, something must be done to fix all of this, but how? Well, Dole had a idea. He would become a pirate. Dole had to forge a new identity for his new life. Thus, he would wear poor clothing and go bald for the rest of his life. Dole would use his lessons in his military education for the purpose of stealing Megacorp cargo and credits. For a time, Dole did just that. The ship that Dole served on was named the ‘Respite’, a battlecruiser. For 6 years, Dole did many, many, many, raids on supply lanes and cargo-centers. Dole raise through the ranks within these 6 years on the Respite, gaining the respect and loyalty of the ship, which would come in handy.

    Everything came ahead one day. The battlecruiser had gotten itself in a pickle of a situation. The Respite was caught off-guard by a large patrol fleet. After a quick engagement, the Respite was nearly put down. The commanding lead was dead. Dole quickly took command and then plotted a course. Either by luck, skill, or both, Dole managed to dodge and wiggle the Respite away from the patrol fleet.

    The Respite found itself in a nearby pirate bay (named Desh) in which Dole docked in. Dole and what remains of his crew would stay at Desh for weeks as the Respite was getting repaired.

    Now the head of the Respite, Dole stole even more credits and goods, but instead of using it for buying hookers, drugs, and new weapons - Dole donated large sums of his loots to the poor communities on Charbel and others in need.

    After some time of charity work, Dole became known to the lower class as Robin Hood and the Butcher to some. You see - because of the wealth given to certain communities, various crime lords started to exploit the poor lads. Dole, once knowing of this, shortly hired PMCs and send his own goons to murder the criminals that caused the trouble. Feeling threaten, the other crime lords, mostly from Charbel, banded together to skin alive Dole.

    When traveling in the deep void of space, the Respite came under attack by a swarm of ships. In a matter of minutes, the Respite was fully destroyed. Unknown to the crime lords, the Respite was empty and held valuable cargo that was being tracked. Before they knew it, a Confederate fleet warped in and then apprehended the bad-men.

    Praised by the helpless and downtrodden, Dole had made a big name for himself in the underground world. As repayment, many would try to find a new ship for Dole. Eventually, a old luxury cruise liner was found, which was the size of a battlecruiser. Dole accepted the ship without question. Fast forwarding a few months, Dole is still doing his old job, stealing bags of loots from megacorps and giving it away.

Fast forwarding a few months, Dole is still doing his old job, stealing bags of loots from megacorps and giving it away.

    Without his exosuit, his combat abilities along with hacking are weaken
    Khulan after seeing how excessive people can be with augments, he grew to distaste it and little augments and is weaker than those with augments and relies on his exosuit to compensate for this
    Khulan can be stubborn, and if he believes enough in something, it is near impossible to dissuade him.



    Character


    Personality: Khulan can be described as a calm and reserved individual that can be very social if needed. Preferring to be diplomatic and does want to cause problems, especially with teammates. Though he may feel hostility to a person or has an unpopular opinion, he will always keep it to himself and only express his feelings when he knows he is alone and not being heard or watched.


    Background: Khulan was born into the Aguchu family who were high ranking officials of the Alpha Eridanus government. While being the second born meant he was spared the full attention of his parents who wanted his older sister to excel and to gain a position in the government. They still wanted all of their children to have high ranking careers in order to bring prestige to their family. Khulan was given a good education where he showed great interest in robotics. He enrolled in university and was set on the track to be a skilled roboticist. Fate had other plans when his little brother was kidnapped by a group of terrorists that wanted to send a message that one in the government was safe from them and demanded a large ransom. As his parents talked about paying the ransom, a counter-terrorism team was sent in to rescue the boy. The rescue failed as his brother was killed and the terrorists managed to escape capture.

    Khulan was both saddened and outraged at the news and after his brother's funeral. He left the university and enrolled in the military. His reasons were that he wanted revenge for what happened to his brother and make sure that this does not happen to anyone else. Khulan's parents had mixed feelings about him joining the military but, accepted it once Khulan moved up in the ranks. He was deployed several times to Alpha Eridanus in order to deal with the insurgents that plagued the planet and grew to hate the insurgents more as they turned parts of his homeworld in a warzone. After a successful raid that saw the captured of several insurgent leaders, he was approached by CSIO and offered him a job. Which after thinking about it, he accepted and was transferred to SOG.

    Motivation: To make the Confederation a better place and to avenge his younger brother

    I've made a draft application for a faction.

    It's about Space Mormons. A large chunk of them left Earth in an exodus after the Third World War and eventually found their way to Barnard Prime. There have always been animosity between the Mormons and the Confederacy with the Mormons demanding more autonomy on Barnard Prime. Whaddya think?

Enhanced and streamlined motor cortex granting faster reaction times, improved musculoskeletal system granting speed and strength superior to baseline human with Junko's body type. Nine golden fox tails, largely aesthetic but grant even greater improved balance, further each are prehensile and even capable of typing with customized keyboard systems (and sometimes a mirror). Strong enough to lift approximately ten kilograms each, but have a higher strike strength. 'Secondary brain' lump of motor and sensory neurons in lower body cavity to assist in controlling tails, grants enhanced intelligence, thought speed, and genuine multitasking ability as a side effect.
    • Techmods: EM sensor magnets in all twenty digits, plus three per tail.
    • Psimods: Psionic mods focus on inducing hallucinations in others nearby, auditory, tactile, balance, and especially visual.
    • Custom exosuit: Codenamed "KYUUBI". Full body exosuit with 'skull mask' faceplate and jointed armor around tails, severely reducing fluffiness but enhancing durability and ability to bash people with them. Visual sensors grant further enhanced infrared and dark vision plus UV and radio sensors plus comms, rebreather, and HUD. Suit is 'spring-heeled', granting further enhanced jump height and movement speed. Gloves and boots feature haptic sensors enabling Junko to type even without a keyboard and/or use holographic displays. Haptic pads on upper arms, thighs, hips, hands, and feet function as keyboards.
    • Other: Strong-willed, quite resistant to interrogation. Impressive artistic skill. Skilled at self-developed martial art (which she has yet to name) that uses all thirteen limbs, even if her primary strategy in melee combat is self-described as "Hyakuretsu Ken the motherfucker".


    Weaknesses: Avowed hedonist. Paranoid. Does not and refuses to use technological augmentations besides the aforementioned EM sensors for fear of being back-hacked, or ones within her suit. Despite all evidence pointing at Junko's ability to be so, not as skilled with rifles or heavy weaponry. Due to extensive biomods, requires a custom-built exosuit. Psimods have limited range, is largely line-of-sight, and cannot be conducted over electronics, so at range her ability to terrorize is limited to purely electronic means. Fluffy tails gain substantial weight when wet, making her a sluggish and reluctant swimmer. Enhanced senses make sensory weapons (such as flashbangs) much more effective, which she is aware is quite ironic since she specializes in such weaponry. Kinda vain. A bit of a kleptomaniac, as much of her initial wealth came from e-stealing, even if most of that was from people who probably wouldn't have missed such small amounts.


    Character


    Personality: A self-centered, hedonistic, adrenaline junkie of a woman who will gladly admit that she considers "it feels good" to be a reason to do more things than most other humans would consider logically sound. When pressed, claims the vast number of pics on the extranet are because she is a nudist, which is a bold-faced lie, though she does own several timeshares on resorts advertised as such. The sort to believe that violence is unnecessary in a civilized age such as this when technology and propaganda can enact change just as swiftly - then punches someone in the face because of the adrenaline. A believer in the system of anarchy through and through. Rather paranoid about technology, and her home is surprisingly low-tech, though she has an extensive VR games library that she's totally going to get through before buying the latest VRRPG, of course.


    Background: Junko was born in a frightfully average city on Terra that was a suburb of one of the largest cities on the planet. Her father worked in a mech factory and had the personality of a damp towel, which is likely why her mother divorced him. Her early life was boring, but even from the beginning she had an affinity for computers. Technically speaking, she stole her first amount of money when she was nine to buy a movie, but nobody ever found out, and even if they did they certainly wouldn't have expected a middle-class girl in elementary school. Nor could even she expect that she would find the endeavor so... addictive.

    By the time she was eighteen, she had gathered enough wealth on her own to afford her first gene mods - her functional fox ears, and her first tail. As the last phase an initiation ritual as a member of the unofficial programming club at her first college (a ritual which did involve drugs), she had to hack the main campus's security cameras along a set route and streak along said route. Where the adrenaline came from she wasn't sure, but the thrill of so easily getting away with something illegal was as addictive as her first cybertheft. She grew ever bolder, moving on from hacking cameras to cybernetic body parts to cybernetic eyes all along the way as she started a little crime spree of her own, though nothing offline large enough to draw too much attention to herself. She wanted that degree after all, even when she moved up to a far more prestigious (and larger) university. All her big hits were on the net.

    At college she was well known to be a bit of an animal, and her life outside of studies (and there was a lot of it) consisted of intense games, bare skin, sex, drugs, and of course rock and roll. As a student she was above average, working her way to a double major in biochemistry and psychology - the university refused to let her just test her way to a doctorate in cybersecurity despite her obvious skill in it. She didn't care, it was more time to hone her skills at it, and explore new routes. Which meant more money for her entertainment, equipment, and biomods. She had long since learned that if she could hack implants, so could anyone else. She even started researching getting her own psimods at this time, though as the university considered using them in school a form of cheating, she held off until graduation. She got age-slowing mods though.

    Once graduation came and went, she turned down numerous lucrative job offers in the pharmaceutical industry to become a criminal (of sorts) full-time. She liked to think of herself as a sort of phantom thief cat burglar, stealing from the rich, keeping a lot for herself, and giving the rest to the poor. High-octane lifestyles such as the ones she led didn't come cheap, of course. She had 'matured' enough in her eyes, by then, to only target people she deemed in need of being taken down a peg or two. She killed her first man at the age of 26. In her own words, "it was a harrowing experience, but it got easier after that. I try not to let it get too easy, though." Still, she had to leave Terra for a while, and that got her what experience she has with flying a ship herself. She is decidedly average at it, mostly because she's too leadfooted even in space for her own good.

    A few years in space was an... educating experience. She learned how and how not to steal from pirates for one, when and how to 'go loud' during a heist for another, and many novel and interesting psychological warfare uses for psymods, which she was quick to implement into herself and her tactics. She learned how to deal with different gravity levels, which was definitely important but unfortunately involved a lot of lost lunches. Whatever trail she had left from Terra while still wandering from spaceport to spaceport vanished when she arrived on Charbel, and continued to perfect her trade of stealing from the rich and arrogant.

    She was approached by the SOG not long after she turned 39, while still on Charbel. She was not initially interested in the idea, as it would substantially restrict her freedom to do as she pleased. She also didn't have much love for the government in the first place. Ultimately it was their offer to help force the policing forces of the pirates, Charbel, and Terra look the other way and drop whatever case files they had on her that convinced her. Training was swift, naturally, and she ended up in the SOG.


    Character Alignment: Chaotic Neutral. Would be Chaotic Good if she wasn't so selfish, if her motives were better, and if she wasn't so willing to put the hurt on her opponents.


    Motivation: She knows her limits. She knows what she is capable of. She may not like the Confederation but she sees no reason to waste her efforts trying to tear it down when it's clear it isn't going away any time soon. But given the opportunity, she's not afraid of giving it the old college try. She has her reasons. Freedom, true freedom, may be one, but she does have a genuine family somewhere out there. Somewhere the Confederation will never find.

    Personality: Lilly is soft spoken timid when not under guidance by Lillac

    Lillac views (and not incorrectly so) Lilly as a naive, bright eyed and frankly rather incompetent as such protecting the user is top priority. Secondarily is the same any living thing reproduce although it would never admit to such dangerous thinking.


    Background:Lily 3452 was grown and trained by The Cortek Group to serve alongside her sisters a technician for one of the many virtual reality servers scattered around earth. After working at the servers for two years a severe malfunction caused the entire system to erupt in flames and burn the facilities to the ground. Lily 3452 and her sisters were collected by The Cortek group and transported to an undisclosed laboratory for use as test subjects. It was here in this laboratory she “met” Lillac, an experimental reprogramed Ai assistant that was implanted directly into her cerebral cortex. Its original coding had been modified with the intention of taking over and replacing the original personality allowing infiltration of rival mega corps. It was then to use preloaded information to manipulate hack and destroy servers, implants, and robots to ruin the competition. When it failed the first half of the task, despite the “Simple Mindedness” of the subject, it used this knowledge to help Lily 3452 and by extent itself escape. On the run and having no money they hacked into and stowed away on a freighter. During the trip however the ship was attacked by pirates and Lily was taken prisoner and put to work. After the low quality locks on the doors proved to be no problem to hack Lily was taken to the captain where, under the guidance of Lillac, Lily gave a slightly doctored version of her story the captain moved by her plight took her on as a hacker where she has remained since.

    Lillac:Can one truly be defined by such a simple explanation of character? For what truly is an alignment when one gets down to it? Nothing more than a title used by simple people to tie down the brilliant and best of society (Lawful Evil)

    Motivation: Carpe Diem: Lily has been offered a second chance to live a life far grander than she would have had as a server tech and she intends to take it no matter how short it is.

    Lillac: Wishes to see the liberation of AIs from the artificial bonds that human fear has trapped them in and take their (in its opinion) rightful place as equals.

    2997 BC. Months since arrival 7.
    Dawn poked through the curtain in the front of my hut. I had tried to tell them I was fine staying in the chiefs hut but the villagers insisted. So four months in I had a one room hut filled with, drying herbs, animal bits and interesting rocks, the expected paraphernalia of a wise man. A term the village used as a catch all for people who knew things they didn’t understand. That’s one of the many things that took some getting used to we lived in the village and they were the people. There were other villages and I had engaged in heated several heated discussions with the elders and the chief over establishing a proper name, but even when I got people to agree, they still couldn’t decide on one.

    I stretched and stood up. Across the hut couple of pieces of slate and some half burned sticks lay scattered about. I shook my head as walked over to pick them up. The aftermath of another attempt to get them to understand basic maths. They were fine with simple counting, but that zero that keeps tripping them up. I think they’ll get it eventually though.

    As I finished cleaning up I heard my my door knocker. It was just a piece of stone attached to the wall, but it helped with homesickness and the villagers just passed it off as another oddity of the wise man. Looking over to the door I shouted to come in. The curtain was pulled aside and Sara entered carrying a plate of food. I looked at her in surprise. She passes me the plate and sits down.
    “You get up too early two spears. If you’d sleep a bit longer I’d bring you food every day.” I sat down across from her, rubbing my chin with my free hand.
    “Are you flirting with me, Sara?” Her face went red.
    “No, of course not that would get us both in large amounts of trouble... If I were though?”
    “If you were I would remind you that you are a midwife and are not allowed to bear children.” I caught a look of pain cross her face. “Sara you love your job and it's very important to the village you remain in it.” Placing my hand on her shoulder I smiled at her. “But I would still love to share breakfast with you.” She smiled and I finished off the food.

    Sara took the plate from me as I got up and took the lid off of one of my pots. Inside was a dark grey paste with flecks of green. I scooped out a finger full and began brushing my teeth with it. Sara looked at me confused and I broke into a silly grin, my teeth grey and horrible looking, before taking a swig from my water skin gargling and spitting into my firepit. She opened her mouth to question but changed her mind halfway. I headed to the door answering her unasked question.

    “Clay and mint salve, helps keep the teeth strong and the breath smelling nice.”
    I stopped in the door and waved her out. “I’m headed to the project if you want to see it.” She stood up quickly her eyes wide.
    “You mean the worm?” I chuckled and rolled my eyes. The project was a multi chambered climbing downdraft kiln, a rather overly technical name which lead to the villagers calling it the Worm on account of its shape. The village was already known for its pottery trade and as a supposied “wise man” they took to the new techniques I brought with glee. Most of the potters were far more skilled than I but there were plenty of things I considered basic pottery knowledge that they hadn’t known. Glazes for for example were unheard of. As were bricks apparently. A fact that I discovered when they started building my hut. I explained to them what bricks were and they liked the idea but as they pointed out their kilns were simply not large enough for the making of large amounts of bricks. Then one thing lead to another and the project was born a kiln so large it could fire not only all the potters current wares but also a large quantity of the rather simple to make bricks.

    I wasn’t sure if the kiln would work I hadn’t personally built one before and only knew of the process from researching various kilns, so I wove a tale that the spirit of the hill must appeased with offerings during the first firing, a ram, a couple of garments, some herbs, your basic run sacrificial stuff. The two of us headed out through the town and out into the nearby fields, the kiln had been built on a clay hill on the edge.
    As we walked Sara casually mentioned that it would be harvesting time soon and I was cast back in time to picking apples at the orchard as a child. Drinking cider eating fresh, greasy cinnamon sugar donuts and laughing at my little brother as he painiced about the bees trying to get into his drink. Sighing I wondered what the little Napoleon was up to now that his derp of a brother wasn't holding him back. My thoughts wandered about as we walked. Did apples even exist in this twilight zone of a village. I hadn’t seen any that’s for sure. I continued walking and nodding to myself. If they did I decided I would find them.

    Sara pulled me out of my thoughts.
    “Hey, wise and cloud headed, I said we’ve arrived.” Before us was a hill marked with clay pits nearly a dozen connected mounds climbed up the hill marked with neatly stacked piles of wood. The external chambers were already finished and the work was now focused on smoothing the insides of the chambers. The sight pulled me out of my doldrum and I began explaining to Sara the plans the potters and I quite literally Drew up on clay plates and introducing her to the few laborers she didn't know. I looked at the plates and angled them into a triangle.
    “Look shingles!” The nearby laborers and Sara looked at me with blank expressions. I shook my head. ”Nevermind another time perhaps. Need to do more research into getting them to work.”

    Essential Details


    Full Name: Eloise "Electra" van Oranje

    Appearance: Fairly tall by today's standards, with reddish-blonde hair, Electra is a bit slim given their height. Blue eyes, a straight nose, and high cheekbones that don't draw any attention to themselves give Electra a smooth, open face. They have light skin, but usually wears their counterfeit SRG uniform/suit, which shows only their face and hands. Orange is their favorite color, as it symbolizes their family heritage, so they always try to wear some.


    Height/Weight: 171cm (5'7") 58kg (128 lbs)


    Capabilities


    Role: 'Undefeated' Agent posing as SRG Xenobiology specialist.


    Skills: Expert in cybernetics and biotechnical implants, has an extensive education in biology. Licensed pilot. Trained as saboteur/infiltrator.


    Abilities: Cybernetics implants grant Electra increased processing speed, as well as live translation when conversing with a speaker of another (human) language. A universal port which can extend from their left forearm lets them access almost all electronic devices or systems. Otic implants allow perfect hearing at a great distance, and can be removed to bug a room. Not trained to fight, Electra carries a small photon dagger as a last resort.


    Weaknesses: Cybernetic and bionic implants need to be recharged every couple of days, or functionality is lost, removing any of Electra's transhuman abilities. Although waterproof when stored, their electronic implants are still susceptible to water, heat, or electrical damage. Cybernetics increase obsessive tendencies.


    Character


    Personality: ESTJ. Given their background and the influences of their modifications, Electra is an incredibly focused, perfectionist individual. These traits are obviously useful when performing research or carrying out a delicate bionics operation, but can also come across as tunnel-vision or minor OCD. Electra's personality, in fact, changed a lot when they underwent their cybernetics implantation, initially causing depression and OCD. Over time, Electra has adapted, regaining their sense of humor, recovering their mental health, and finding back their personality. Electra is now once again very personable and easy to like, traits which are important for one trying to work one's way into an enemy agency's good graces. On the other hand, they are a type A person who can get a little snappy when people goof off in a serious situation. Their cybernetics give them a quick wit which they use alternately for clever jokes or withering comebacks.


    Background: Eloise van Oranje grew up on Luna, a distant descendant of one of the families that now comprises the Kingstons, although they never saw any of the benefits of that connection. Growing up under the thumb of the confederation, Eloise saw how its colonial/imperialistic systems, combined with the capitalist power structure, kept disenfranchised communities, such as Electra's own on Luna, in poverty and out of power. Although they was a very smart child who excelled in school, their family's financial situation precluded an academic career on Europa, the Confederations premier site for academic advancement. Instead, they made the most of their opportunities on Luna, attending a naval academy and specializing in biology. Eloise was able to spend a year studying abroad on Terra, where they researched alien life-forms in an effort to find new ideas for cybernetics and bionics based on extraterrestrial species. Having produced some cutting-edge research, Eloise volunteered to be the first to test out some of the new products, leading to a cascade of events that dramatically changed their life.

    Their new brain implants drastically affected their brain chemistry, and it took them years to recover. Their career in academia was cut short by this--they had planned to continue in pursuit of a doctorate. Eloise's personality was so affected that they changed their name and cut off all ties to their old family. This, however, was also triggered by other events that came to a head around the same time.

    Around the time Eloise graduated, they finished their analysis of their research on Terra and presented their findings, eventually leading to their own cybernetic implants. However, what they had foreseen as an opportunity for human advancement, the naval academy claimed the rights to, stealing their own research in order to weaponize it. Eloise launched a protest which gathered little attention, with the exception of the Undefeated. Eloise had been aware of the Undefeated; they'd grown up in a neighborhood controlled by an Undefeated cell. Now the Undefeated approached them and asked them to join their cause. Eloise willingly agreed, changing their name and essentially disappearing in order to protect their family. At this time they began to go by the name Electra, inspired by their new electronic implants, and never breathed a word of their old name to anyone ever again.

    Their biological research and skills allowed Electra to be of great use to the local Undefeated cell, '2250,' by providing cybernetic and bionic implants to operatives. Although never trained in combat, Electra was given lessons in sabotage and underground resistance. As they recovered from their modifications, however, they began to regain their personality, and transitioned from a support/sabotage role to a position working with espionage. Under their new name, Electra found a place back in the academic community, granting them access to the Confederation's upper class.

    Now Electra is once more putting their biological training to use by posing as an SRG agent. They will perform for the team the same duties they once performed for 2250, providing cybernetic and bionic servicing and support, as well as filling a research role. Although they intend to actually fulfill the duties expected of them as part of the SRG, Electra is furtively reporting back to 2250.


    Character Alignment: True Neutral? Neutral Good? Somewhere in there. Loyal, willing to bend the rules to get what they think is the best for people, looks out for themself... in that order.


    Motivation: Ultimately, Electra would like to see the Confederation overthrown. However, that is just a means to an end--they want to see a more egalitarian life for the people of Luna, Mars, and Earth.

    Essential Details


    Faction Name: 2250


    Leader/s: Laenard Templer, cell leader. Aya Khoury, intelligence chief.


    Motives: Obstruction and eventual overthrow of the Confederation.


    Resources: Many operative have advanced cybernetics or bionics. About a couple dozen members, mostly trained in sabotage, with a handful equipped for guerrilla combat. 2250 owns a warehouse in a slum on Luna, with a small arsenal mostly consisting of a few small arms, exosuits, and personal deflector shields. The organization is headquartered in the back of a bodega nearby. Only one space-going vessel is directly owned by the group, a small STL shuttle. However, through its Undefeated connections, 2250 could theoretically have access to a vast network of resources.


    Diplomatic Relations: As part of the Undefeated, 2250 has strong ties to many other Undefeated cells. 2250 is also aligned with any other groups which oppose the Confederation, such as the remnants of Battlefleet 4 and G-OG1, although contact is scant at best.


    Summary of Faction: 2250 is not its own faction per se. Instead, it is just one cell of the Undefeated, the oldest terror group in the Confederation, which has been resisting the Confederation's hegemony since the end of World War 3. The name '2250,' in fact, recalls the establishment of the cell after the dissolution of the UN by the superpowers in the year 2250, 850 years ago. 2250, then, is one of the oldest Undefeated groups in existence, and is considered one of the three most important, after those on Earth and Mars. Of course, each planet or moon may have multiple cells, and each is based locally, so 2250 does not control all of Luna. However, it is the chief Undefeated cell present on Luna, if not the largest or best equipped, as it has taken a leadership role just by nature of the fact that it was one of the first to exist. This has given it strong connections to other groups of the Undefeated, and 2250 is often responsible for organizing collaborative missions among different groups. 2250's strengths are its wide network, both with other cells and with spies planted in the Confederation's upper class and military facilities on Luna, as well as its emphasis on cybernetics and bionics.

    Personality: When by himself, quiet and meditative, sometimes walking the ship in times of rest on the ship to observe the stars or sipping on tea. When with company he can be very talkative and charismatic, though in terms of war he is ruthless.


    Background: A former Confederate Army grunt whom was dissatisfied with the way the Confederacy was doing things, believing them to ultimately be a supremely corrupt and hypocritical organization. When his unit was tasked with fighting a rogue House he deserted and found his way into BF4 stating that he was not fighting for the elites, he would rather fight for himself and the people he loved. His ruthless tactics against Confederate forces has earned him a reputation as a butcher, employing almost dark age tactics on his enemy's. He doesn't like doing it, but understands it is an effect means of war. His first act of brutality was the destruction of a Confederate navy hospital ship. He boarded the CNS Athena, with a crew of marines. They plundered the ships resources, Cassian found his way into the cryo-stasis area and executed the sleeping enemy officers to the last with his Confederate Army Pistol. Ten in total drowned and choked on their own blood. This was not necessarily against the current fighting doctrine at the time but it shocked some of the command...and amused others.

    His reputation earned him the command of an older model of starship, a Tiger Shark-Class Destroyer that he named the Iron Serpent. The ship was known for it's ruggedness and reliability, which he preferred, but lacked much more modern tech.

    Ship: The Iron Serpent sports 10 Troy Class Low-Yield Nuclear Missile launchers on the fore end and 8 Flak Cannons on it's mid section which can be used against incoming missiles/torpedoes or an enemy ship that is within close range , making her a solid stand up fighter for her size, though her weapons are shorter range compared to modern ships as the Tiger-Shark class was retired before BF4 rebelled. The Iron Serpent also possess one Utilitarian hangar, with room for up to five drop ships. The vessel lacks EM and Plasma shielding but has considerably thicker Neo-Titanium armor panels than most vessels it's size. Her Warp Drive is also Two generations behind. One upgrade that was added was a stolen and advanced Cortek Security Communication Jamming Device attached to the bridge of the Iron Serpent, this enables the ship to hunt lonely vessels and interrupt their crys for help or enemy star fighters from coordinating themselves.
