The Galactic Confederacy

The Galactic Confederacy is a Diplomatic/Military/Trade Alliance made for the betterment of those that have to suffer under the Bulk of more entsblished Alliances. It is for Free Trade and good Diplomatic Relations with all Member and non-member nations and a Defense pact to help if a Member is attacked.

Charter:

Preamble

We The Nations, Peoples and Species of The Galactic Confederacy Vow to protect and defend our ways of life and those of our fellow members, we seek Free Trade, Peace and better life in this Galaxy and to better dedicate our selves to Life, Liberty and The Pursuit of Happiness for all races in The Milky Way and Beyond.


Article One: Diplomacy

1: All Nations that join can join other alliances and have Diplomatic Relations with non-members as they will, for it is freedom that is good for all members of The Confederacy.

2: If two member nations get into a Diplomatic problem that goes to full out war, All Members must not send Military Aid to both sides and try to end the war in a diplomatic way.

3: Any war between two members will result in both being suspended from the Confederacy till the case is heard in The Galactic Diplomatic Courts of The Confederacy, were members of neutral members of the Confederacy will heard the case and the cause of the war between the two member states and get it settled with out more bloodshed. If the member that started the war with the other member does not settle it peacefully, the one that started it will be kicked out of The Confederacy and all GC members will be free to attacked the ex-member till they surrender.

4: if a Fellow member is having civil Problems (such as Civil War or anything that is a internal problem) the all members must help them diplomaticly or with Humanitarian help for the civilians efected.


Article Two: Defense

1: If a Non-Member attacks a Confederacy Member for ANY reason, all members must join in the defense of their fellow member till the attacker is Defeated.

2: If a Member attacks a non-member nation as ask for help from their fellow members, they must state way they are attacking the non-member in reasonable terms. Other members are free to join if they find the reason for the attack reasonable.


Article Three: Economics and Free Trade.

1: All Nations that are members of The Confederacy are open to Trade Freely with other members of The Confederacy with out the trouble of Tariffs.

2: No Member nation will raise a Tariff against another member nation, nor blockade them or declare a Embargo against a fellow member nation or they will be kicked out of the Confederacy.

3: members are Free to start Free Trade with Non-members or raise a Tariff against non members.

4: If a Non-member nation declares sanctions or a embargo against a member of The Galactic Confederacy, then all member nations will stop all Trade with the non-member nation that declared the sanction or embargo.

5: Any Non-member nation that blockades a world of a Member nation, or starts raiding shipping of other Confederacy members will be declared a enemy of The Confederacy and all members will declare war on the offender nation.

Epilogue:

We The Undersign vow to keep the Confederacy safe, obey the Charter and help make new amendments to the Charter if it needs it.

The Galactic Confederacy; An alliance of... Well... We're not sure.

And yet another alliance hits the galactic stage... Only to, without doubt, disappear within days. Notable? Not really, it happens all the time. However, this particular case seems notable for another reason...

It has no purpose.

No, really. Apparently the Steppe Empire went forward and proposed an alliance without giving the alliance a charter. Certainly, a statement of intent exists - the usual, economic, military and political assistance for entities outside any other extant powerblocks -, but a charter? Nyet. Consequently, there are no ideological ties, either. Certainly, the concept of 'Signup' alliances involving nations with no common history simply signing up to an alliance and then forgetting about it isn't a new one, but at least these alliances usually have something at least resembling an ideological alignment, be it of an ethnic or an economic nature.

The Galactic Confederacy on the other hand, apparently can do without, being happy to mix the xenophobe with the alien, the communist with the libertarian, the militarist with the hippie.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the lifetime of this most peculiar alliance is probably something to be measured in minutes, rather than days. If it's lucky - really lucky -, it may make it up to its first serious confrontation, when it'll shatter as its members, experiencing greater differences between each other than with the enemy, simply opt not to react, or simply switch sides.

I wouldn't hold my breath, though.
