Hong Kong Dollar Introduced to Replace Songjiang, Yahel and Hong Kong Currency







The HSBC has revealed the new currency they will be producing and announced what nations will be using it.
Only the HSBC will be allowed to print or mint Hong Kong Dollars but they will also be responsible for replacing worn out money out of there own pocket saving the nations money.
The advantages being effectively the central bank for a major currency is likely what made them agree to pay for producing the money themselves rather than having that cost mitigated by the governments involved.
The bank mint has begun mass production of bills and coins to get them ready by the three month deadline.
The money will be exactly the same in each nation but images on the back will change from year to year for new money produced. the fronts of bills will remain the same unless a decision is made to update them all.

Hyundai Produces First Luxury Car







Hyundai Motors has released the Hyundai Elite town car today representing its first high end automobile.
The car features a 500 horsepower V8, full leather interiors, convertible roof, and many other high end luxuries it is primarily being aimed at the European markets but will be made available in other markets. 10 of the cars have been donated to each the Governments of Songjiang, Yahel, and Pavlovsk likely in the hopes they will buy more. These donated cars have the optional armored body packages, and hard tops rather than convertible roofs.
The vehicles are being produced in only three colors, white, black, and grey.

Official 1994 Bracket

The bracket is set based on seeding, meaning the two highest rated teams in the tournament (Hulm and Asteria) will play the two lowest rated (Texas and American Federation) in the first round. Save the one match already played, these games could still go either way. We have sixteen teams made up of the highest tiers of athletes around the world, and nobody should be ruled out quite yet. Well, except for Texas.

Hulm beats Texas 4-0 in opening match at Auckland Arena

The result came as no surprise to anybody watching. That being said, we should not downplay Hulm, who played at the top of their game for the entire 90 minutes, even if their competition played at a lower level of skill and talent. Jürgen Günter opened up the scoring early, with an easy 7th minute goal after dribbling past the defense and slotting the ball past the keeper. Mayer Müller scored off of a corner in the 25th minute, using the heading skill that he is most known for. Right after the halftime break, he came back for more, scoring a screamer from nearly half field, embarrassing the Texan goalkeeper, Wayne Bush, who was caught dreadfully out of position. Das Günter, Jürgen's older brother, scored the fourth and final goal after Texas conceded a dangerous free kick right outside the box. Das rolled the ball under Texas' wall, and it slid right under the devastated Bush. Not a surprising match, but still a solid result for Hulm as they advance to the next round.
The next match will take place in the Christchurch Memorial Stadium on January 21 and will see Asteria play the American Federation.

Upcoming Matches: Projections and Notable Matchups
Expert ratings and projections are provided by the Yangaean Associated Athletic Press

The first round is bound to be full of nail biters. Looking at the schedule, it is obvious that there will be no room for mistakes as almost every team has an important match.
The next game, Asteria (rated 73) and American Federation (rated 41), is the only true mismatch left. Asteria should win comfortably. Projection: 3-0 Asteria
The other games truly could be anyone's match. Sentola (rated 60) and Yangaea (rated 53) are regional rivals, and it is almost poetic that they should play first round. Sentola has a stronger team on paper, but Yangaea does have a home-field advantage that might see them through the first round. It will be a close one for sure. Projection: 2-1 Yangaea
Pavlovsk and Tumbuland have probably the most equally rated teams. Experts rate Pavlovsk at a 58 and Tumbuland at a 56, meaning there is really no clear favorite. This could very well be the best game to watch in this first round. Projection: 2-2, Tumbuland winning in penalties
Another team to keep an eye on is Santa Rosa (rated 70) as the play Hong Kong (rated 53). If Santa Rosa can maintain confidence and play comfortably against Hong Kong, they may be seen as a strong pick for eventual champion. Projection: 3-1 Santa Rosa

The official statement is that the Tumbuland has been lagging far behind her many neighbors in military power, and that with this equipment, the Tumbu Armed Forces will be better able to defend the nation and her people from any potential invaders. 125 thousand AK-74M assault rifles have been purchased, costing 12.5 million dollars. The Tumbu Armed Forces also bought 10 BTR-80s IFVs, which are similar to APCs, at 1.2 million dollars each, totalling in at 12 million dollars. The combined price is 24.5 million dollars. The Tumbu Armed Forces says that this will bring more security to Tumbuland, and ensure that it is never colonized by another nation again, wether the colonialist be European or African. The Army's uniform shall also be given a makeover, with Songjiangian-import camouflage uniforms being used, with 4 million uniforms, 1 million boots, and 1 million helmets being purchased for 20 million dollars. President Teodoro Obiang also purchased an antique Qing-era Songjiangian robe for 400,000 dollars in his own personal money to drive home the deal. Robert Dixon Captured By Rebellious Soldiers
After the General Secretary's compound was swarmed with Texan soldiers, and the sounds of gunshots echoed throughout the streets of downtown Dallas. The surprise coup is believed to have been a result of the regime's negligence of the armed forces and their families. SANTA ROSA - Many conspiracy theories have taken prominence after an op-ed by Jaime Paolo was published in last week's La Estrella claiming that President of Santa Rosa Paul Oppenheimer has been dead since August.

While the Government of Santa Rosa and the President's office both have stated that "the President is alive and well," Paolo's article brought up an interesting point: the President has not been seen in public since the aforementioned August month.

"August of 1993 was a turbulent month for Santa Rosan politics," Paolo pointed out. "It started with the firing and discharge of many high-ranking administration officials and ended with the Prime Minister [Antonio Lardesi] announcing a new referendum to restore the Constitution -- something that a military dictator like Oppenheimer wouldn't willingly do."

It is true that Lardesi has taken a more active public role. As Prime Minister, Antonio Lardesi was expected to run all the day-to-day government business, while the President would continue to participate in public events and represent the nation abroad. Now, it seems that Lardesi has taken up both of those tasks officially, meeting with foreign dignitaries and acting on defense policy all by himself.

A Hongo-L'Chegue poll conducted yesterday stated that 53% of Santa Rosans believe that something is "fishy" about the President's lack of public appearances, while only 13% think he is dead.

"Paul Oppenheimer is either dead or seriously ill," Paolo wrote, "or he is just genuinely old and wants to leave office as swiftly as possible. The world may never know."

Paul Oppenheimer is not running for President in the upcoming election. Prime Minister Antonio Lardesi, however, is.

​After delays, Interkosmos successfully launches first Mir module



The Tsiolkovsky module being launched at Baikonur


Yesterday, the first module of the Interkosmos Mir Space Station was launched. The launch comes after a near two year delay due to a severe accident at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, which resulted in a two year program of repairing and revamping of the entire complex. In the time since the delays, the Interkosmos has been working with with aerospace engineers from Yahel and Songjiang on creating the next modules, and the next five modules have been fully built, and the final planned sixth module is under construction.

The module launched yesterday, named after Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, is also known as an FCB, or Functional Cargo Block. As the name suggests, the module provides storage, but is also equipped with solar panels, RCS boosters for propulsion, and remote guidance systems to make future additions simpler. The module was launched with a Proton-K rocket.

Interkosmos plans to launch the next module, Liánhé (also known as Node 1,) which will act as a connecting module for connecting up to six more modules. If all goes well with Liánhé, the next modules will be launched on a monthly basis until completion.

Former General Secretary Robert Dixon has been sentenced to death for his crimes against the Texan people following his illegal overthrow of the Texan Confederacy in 1992. Since his rise to power, his reign has been marked by complete negligence and destruction of liberties that the Texans have enjoyed since the late 1800s. The temporary judicial council of the Republic of Texas has deemed that Dixon's crimes are worthy of the death penalty. McCarthy criticises Santa Rosa
In an interview about President McCarthy's impeding 54th birthday, an interviewer asked various questions about the Federation and America as a whole.

One of the more interesting questions was regarding Santa Rosa and Barnetia.

Interviewer: "What is your opinion on Santa Rosa and Barnetia?"
Answer:


It makes rather sad to say this, as I had hoped to co-operate with Santa Rosa, but their inaction regarding Barnetia and general political instability has soured my opinion of them. Say what you will about American politics, but at least the Federation has stable leadership. Let's not forget that Santa Rosa had promised a Barnetian republic by the end of 1993, yet we're 2 months into the year and there's nothing happening south of the border. That's unacceptable, not even giving the people a choice. We're exploring more avenues of action regarding this issue.



Many have claimed the President's words are hypocritical but on the flip side, many agree with the statements declared in that interview. While an ominous warning about 'action' is certainly thought-provoking, who knows what the President is thinking?

President of North Barnetia, Adrián Curbelo, has agreed in full with President McCarthy and added his own comments.



Am I saying that Santa Rosan-occupied Barnetia should join North Barnetia? No. But I am saying that it's abhorrent that the Barnetian people don't even have a choice in their sovereignty. We want to work with the Federation to explore a solution.

Songjiang Chairman Xiang Jianhong Detained By Order of the Politburo







Chairman Xiang Jianhong was aprehended by Knight Errant Securities on orders from the Poliburo while he was working in the Wuxing HQ in Hong Kong.
Authorities have stated they waited until he was in Hong Kong in order to negate his immunity to apprehension do to him being head of government.
Chairman Xiang Jianhong claims that the arrest is unlawful and that both the Corporate Counsel and the Politburo are traitors.
The list of charges against him is lengthy but a few of them have been listed below.

While he has yet to go to trial for the charges in Songjiang the Corporate Counsel has declared him guilty of all charges they have levied against him he has been striped of his status as CEO of Wuxing and given a 10 sentence in a work camp he is however being extradited to Songjiang for trial and possible additional sentencing.
While not specifically stated in the reports it is believed the allied nation he deployed military forces to was Pavlovsk if this is true the Chairman could find himself in court there following his trial in Songjiang.

In the current time Wuxing now lacks a CEO and has not reported who will be taking over yet.

Unrest Within The Unions

In spite of Yahel's recent industrialization and diversification, workers complain that too much of the power within Yahel's worker's council still remains in the hands of the oil sector. The weapons industry has seen much more representation in recent times with the rise of such companies as Yaheli Arms and SMS, yet the majority of the economy is based in the oil sector, in turn, handing out power to representatives of the industry. The people have deemed the current state of the council unacceptable and demand more diverse representation.

​Justice Committee approves judicial writ on Xiang Jianhong

The Justice Committee and Attorney General have approved a judicial writ to bring Chairman Xiang Jianhong of Songjiang in for questioning regarding the investigation into the Vladivostok hotel shooting. The writ was requested by the NKVD Chair Vadim Ryzhkov and initially approved as a writ by a regional court in the Rybinsk FR.

Chairman Xiang was recently detained by the Politburo of Songjiang on a multitude of charges including insider trading and treason. Currently, it is not known whether or not the Politburo of Songjiang will cooperate and allow the Chairman to be brought to Pavlovsk for questioning. NKVD Chair Ryzhkov has not made any public comments regarding the investigation or issue, nor has the National People's Congress or Central State Board.

Ghabar orders new constructions, military sales, and releases lift of primary sales

Ghabari officials have opted to allow the general architecture of the cities to be improved and modernized to appear more aesthetically pleasing. The reasoning for this is largely pointed to increasing tourism, as some of the first buildings to be targeted are hotels, as well as creating a source of jobs for the poor, which allow them to get off the streets.


In addition, the nation of Ghabar has publicly announced the construction of some new tanks for export. The primary force will be a main battle tank. In addition, several scout tanks and APC's will be provided as available for sale. Such things are not limited to any particular nations at the current moment.


Finally a list of the primary exports of Ghabar have been released. Of course the most valuable is the oil, which provides for much of the economy of the nation. This is followed by textiles, as the aesthetics and finecrafted nature of our clothing is sought after by many. Vehicle production of luxury yet affordable vehicles and military production follow this, and have recently gained attention once again. Of course, there are many more, but the leaders of the nation hope to first bring attention to these things, and then expand upon them once people engage in more large scale trade with us.

Landersvich
Landersvich is an enigma. While they show to be extremely profitable and influential within Europe, their willingness to allows the HLR to monopolize not only their own nation but large portions of Europe seems troublesome. It does seem that many nations rely on the Austrians, so if we must deal with some sort of conflict with the EC some point in the future, taking down Landersvich would help significantly in efforts.

Hulm
Hulm has the potential to be a prominent trade partner, but considering our current relations with Japan, they seem irrelevant at the moment.

Asteria
We are undecided on the Greeks. While their treatment of their own people is far from Yaheli standards, having them as an ally would prevent any conflict from breaking out between them and the Turks. Keep tabs on the Greeks.

French Nations
While the military might have a disdain for France due to the years spent as APSIA blue helms, they show promise. During times of conflict in Europe, they hold their ground and continue helping themselves. Their ability to tune out of that which does not concern them, impresses.

Yahel is not a fan of authoritarianism. We are willing to work with the iron-fisted giant, but a shift in the government would be welcomed with open arms by the Yahelians.

Niagra Union
Niagara once followed an unsustainable view of sure-footed communism. In recent years, they have noted the wonders of Rykovianism and begun adapting bits and pieces more according to our system. Niagara, if allowed to stabilize themselves and solidify their control over America, could become one of our strongest allies.

Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa has not shown any problems. They have remained cordial towards us and even been open to investment. Santa Rosa has the capacity to be a great economic partner.

Africa

Mbale
Yahel maintains an odd relationship with Mbale. We have cooperated in war (led to a slight misunderstanding) and assisted them in a time of crisis. Over the years Mbale has sent countless refugees and migrants, which we welcome with open arms. We are not quite friends, but we share mutual cooperation.

Salamut

Currently follows full blown communism. While a change towards Rykovianism would be ideal, we will not be pushing for such a change. (Unless approached by other Glascom members.) Currently, it is in our best interests to work with the Egyptians for mutual prosperity.

Songjiang
Songjiang is one of Yahel's largest trade partners, allies, and friends. We see no reason other than to cooperate.

Pavlovsk
Pavlovsk supports Yahels actions and helps with the development of the nation. They are truly a hero of the nation. We owe them the land we stand on today.

Japan
Relations with Japan are at an all-time high. With their trade ban on Santa Rosa and no ability to trade with Niagara, that leaves Yahel as the #1 Oil choice for the Japanese.

Songjiang Chairman Positioned Filled by Freyja Vandenbrock







Director of the National Supervisory Commission Freyja Vandenbrock was declared Chairman Xiang Jianhong replacement today though has stated she will only be holding the position until elections can held and candidates can have time to properly campaign for office.

She did however imedietly take action getting many government initiatives and legal proceedings the official list of these meeting has not been released but the following has been confirmed in the release.



• All original charges against Xing Mei have been dropped and she has been pardoned for the crime of resisting arrest, and prison escape.

After the race concluded Governor Tejador announced her priority was to make the Caribbean the 8th district of Alicia. Governor Espina was not out of a job for long. Just one week after Tejador took the oath Vice President Davalos hired him as chief of staff. Governor Tejadors son, Miguel Tejador won a special election for her seat. They are both members of the Caribbean nationalist party.

UFO crash near Athens sparks fervor over country's conspiracy theorists
