Zamanae Prepares for an Invasion of the Island Kingdom of Mellitala

The Consul of our great republic has sought to bring yet more people under the benevolent and free rule of the Zamanaean Republic, and has said in a speech that the people of Mellitala will gain full rights under the rule of the Consul. A force comprising of 50,000 men has been sent to liberate the three islands that make up Mellitala, with a probable landing at the northeastern side of Gozo. The Consul has refused to give any reason for the invasion other than liberation of the islands, but they will likely serve as a buffer zone between Qaradhast and Zamanaean Sicily, the operations will be overseen by 5 generals,
Quintus Trebellius Macrobius
Flavius Calidius Saunio
Tiberius Antistius Scaro
Mettius Rufius Tyranus
Aulus Umbrenius Congrio

Each general will over see a particular landing site and a section of 10,000 men.

"Their only reason is for 'liberation' of the islands. We suspect they only want the islands as a buffer between Zamanean Sicily and Qaradhast. I suggest we put a travel warning on Mellitala, evacuate Natanian citizens and nationals, put out a statement saying we strongly condemn Zamanae's aggression, and let them know we won't stand for any violation of another nation's sovereignty without just cause." The President thought it over for a second. "Do it, and make sure our own people are safe. Send in military planes if you have to, and brief Congress on the situation."

Bernard withdraws after facing first large heaps of losses, but his detachment has done serious damage to Buteo's army, Buteo is continuing on his course to regroup with Tyranus.
Scaro is ordered to seek out Bernard and annihilate his forces, and Scaro heads east.
