Synopsis

The Weltkreig was the boundary between old and new European warfare. It shattered ideas from the old and from them, the new came. Old generals with outdated ideas were replaced with young energetic officers. Armies were obliterated in the field and Armies created with ease to replace them. Simple technology was perverted into disgusting monstrosities. Empires collapsed and new ones burst from their corpses.

It all started with two shots. Two Deaths. A prophecy fulfilled. A wave of anger. A want of vengeance. An ultimatum. A refusal.

What should have been a small insignificant Balkan war rapidly ballooned across Europe due to the tangled web of alliances. But the Central Powers-Italy, Germany, and Austria-Hungary- through sheer might prevailed against the Entente. France was brutally punished, losing much land and most of their colonies to Germany and Italy. Austria-Hungary collapsed paving the way of German and Italian domination of the Balkans... so they think. Europe is now the home of gods over the earth. An Olympus...

Now a new age begins in 1936, the first of August, a flame is lit in the center of the German Empire. The Olympics have begun but Olympus is about to fall...

Intro

Welcome to "Fall of Olympus", a sequel and reboot to Clarcia's Metal on Metal steampunk RP. This RP is set in an alternative world where the Kingdom of Italy never betrays in the Central Powers in 1916 and are victorious over the Entente. The Central Powers craved up the corpses of the nations that made the Entete and created Empires. You shall take charge of a nation is a new age. The world is still scared by the flames of the Weltkrieg but Europe remains dominant over the rest of the world with it's only match in North America. But it is a new age. Powers emerge in the East seeking dominance while the light of Germany begins to wither. The powers in Africa and the east await for the fall of Olympus. You shall decide if it happens or not.

Technology

The World is mostly now Dieselpunk with backward nations relying on Steam and only the most advanced beginning to even think about biopunk. Each of the three types of technologies has its own advantages and flaws...

Steampunk



Steampunk is now outdated in this new and uncertain age. Steam power requires large boilers and heat for what seems like so little power. They're clunky, heavy, unreliable, and vulnerable to overpressure if are built incorrectly or are damaged. However, they can be easily built in this day and age and the main fuel source is coal which is readily available. Steampunk is recommended to be used by third World Nations

Dieselpunk



Dieselpunk is the power type used by nearly all of the nations of the world. This new age heralded with it brilliant new technologies forged in the fires that was the first Weltkrieg. Diesel is far more efficient, it's power uncompared to steam, and needs not the large boilers of steam and the great fires within them. They power great titans of wars to the sedan of the common man. But they are not without flaws for only limited areas of the world produce black gold and fewer nations with the refineries to render it usable by machines. It too is highly flammable.

Biopunk



A disgusting technology rightfully shunned by most. It violates the sanctity of life by daring to combine it with machines. The flesh is replaced by sheet metal. Veins by plastic tubes. Hearts by with engines and empathy wiped from the mind. It has even been tested on humans It violates human dignity and what the Lord intended for us mortals but there are those that in secret seek this forbidden knowledge. They experiment on drugged subjects that awaken to pure horror. Many think that this technology will end wars before it even begins but they are so wrong. Untested, for good reason, but so raw in potential.

Only the most advanced nations are allowed to even know about such technology. I will not tolerate any nations starting with technology for it shall be locked until late game. Any nation that uses this too early will be reprimanded.

History

On June 28, 1914, two shots rang on the streets of Sarajevo and two deaths. Austria-Hungary discovered that Serbia was behind this action and declared war upon them for the assassination, it did not help that it would remove the biggest external foe in the Balkans to Austria-Hungary, but Russia would not stand for it. Despite diplomatic missions from Austria-Hungary that Serbia would simply be thought a lesson and nothing more, Russia still went to war. Both nations needed war to calm their massive and diverse ethnic groups within them and inspire them that fighting under one banner would bring them to glory. Italy stayed true and invaded France when the latter declared war on Austria-Hungary on July 18. The British Empire followed the very next day.

Europe seemed in flames but one great power remained silent, Germany. This was the nightmare that had plagued Wilhelm the second in his dreams. They would have to fight on two fronts. Despite what the army told him the Kaiser refused to go to war against the Entente. Things began to sour for the Central Powers as while Italy had made gains in France it had been at great cost and Austria-Hungary was on the verge of losing Galacia to the Russians.

At last, on September the first the choice was made in Berlin and Germany entered the war. The French in response launched multiple offensives in Elsass-Lothringen but German fortifications, which had been prepared in advance, held the line while meanwhile, the Germans launched attacks all over East Prussia that lessened the pressure on Austria-Hungary. The Russian advanced on Galacia was halted and a joint German-Austro-Hungarian offensive on September 12 began a full-scale retreat for the Russians. But Denmark suddenly entered the war and launched a massive air raid on Berlin. The Germans never expecting such an audacious move were caught off guard and over 12,000 civilians and 2,000 Imperial guards were killed that day. But such an attack led to the complete destruction of the Danish air force.

On October the sixth a massive sea battle occurred between the Italians and the British around the island of Rhodes which ended in a British victory but an offensive from Italian Libya -with German help- broke through their lines allowing the Italians to advance seventy kilometers in Egypt. To relieve pressure from British Sudan, under attack from Italian Eritrea and the newly conquered land of Abyssinia, the British ordered a naval landing on the Italian town of Bereeda in Eritrea by ANZAC forces. The attack was hastily prepared and low in manpower but despite this, the Australians secured the town with little losses on 23rd October. But it had been a trap and a massive counterattack wiped out the entire force. Over 230,000 ANZAC troops died in a single day.

In the North, Sweden joined the Central Powers as it felt threatened by Danish, British, and Russian attempts to seize control in November the fourth. They launched an attack on Russian Finland and engaged the Tsar's fleet at St. Petersburg. Here a hero or rather a heroine would emerge. They called her the red baroness. She flew against the Russians and the Danish achieving a kill count of three dozen planes and even a destroyer.

In the East, a new Mongol Empire emerged. Lead by an insane Russian by the name of Roman Von Ungern-Sternberg, nicknamed the mad baron. Ungern-Sternberg had taken the Mongols on the path to war eventually culminating in their invasion of a weakened and collapsing China. At the same time, Australia broke out into open rebellion against the British Empire. They had lost so much and all the British Government, one on the other side of the world, had given them was an extra seat in parliament? As chaos broke out Italian and German special forces infiltrated the nation and freed an outlaw, one named Ned Kelly, and gave him metal legs and a suit of armor uncompared to any others. The return of his freedom? Spark the fire that would burn down the loyalists.

On the other side of Europe, Spain joined the war. They were on the verge of collapse and perhaps war against a weakened foe would bring them together? They were right on all counts but how weak the French war. They made rapid progress at first but were halted and driven back to the Pyrenees Mountains.

A massive offensive, led by soldiers all over from the central powers, codenamed Barbarossa launched on the 7th of November. It's goals? To pinch the Polish salient. It was an insanely tall order but the Central Powers had every advantage. The Russians had been badly battered in the last five months and intelligence had revealed that their reserves had practically ceased to exist. The attack achieved total surprise with the entire front collapsing. Two pinchers spearheaded, one launched from Krakow and the other from Konigsburg, the way and a general retreat was ordered by Russian high command but it was slow and chaotic. In the first week, two whole Russian armies ceased to exist and six in danger of being encircled. There was hope, as the northern and southern pinchers were slowing down, that the six Russian armies may escape but only one made it before the last bridge was taken by the 701st Austrian-Hungarian "Krakow's fist" division. The winter was brutal for both sides as entire regiments marched into the snow never to be seen again. At last, as food supplies began to lower and gas being used against them, over three million Russian men surrendered on the 25th of December.

On January the second, the United Kingdom offered the Treaty of Lisbon to the Kingdom of Italy; where Italy would switch sides to the Entente in exchange for further land concessions from the Entente and the Central Powers once they are defeated. Italy refused the British offer and stays loyal to the Central Powers. However, the British managed to convince the Portuguese to join the war in favor of the Entente and attack Spain. This forced the Spanish to fight a two-front war with the French and Portuguese but manages to hold the line and even push Portugal with help from the Italians. Meanwhile, Italy continued to fight in Africa as the front boged down into a stalemate against Entente forces. Germany’s African colonies held out through guerilla warfare, although much of Germany’s colonial forces were defeated. Spain’s Africa Offensive is decisively defeated by the Entente and pushed back all the way to Spanish West Africa, forcing the Italians to send troops to the front to prevent a total collapse of Spain’s forces. France continues to launch a series of attacks, with aid from the British, against the Italians in the Alpine Front. Italy manages to hold the line, falling back to more defensible positions. The Mediterranean Front was effectively locked down by the Central Powers as 1916 rolled about as the Entente was slowly pushed out of any available ports that have access to the Sea.

Another joint Central Powers Offensive by the Germans, Swedes, Austro-Hungarians, Ottomans, and Romanians was launched against the weakened Russians in the Spring and Summer of 1916. The February Revolution occurred in St. Petersburg, ousting the Tsar and replacing it with an unstable Provisional Government. Russia was forced to surrender to the Central Powers in the Fall of 1917 and sign the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk. In the existing Treaty, Russia is forced to cede territories to Germany, Romania, the Ottoman Empire, and Sweden. Russia is forced to release the nations of Finland (Swedish influence), the Baltic States, Poland (German puppet state), Belarus, Ukraine, and the Union of the Caucasus (Ottoman puppet). Russia is forced to pay 52 billion gold marks in reparations to the Central Powers to pay for damages done. Russia’s surrender allowed for the Germans to move all available soldiers to the Western Front to finally defeat the French. In Africa, Italy and Spain launch a joint invasion into the Sahara Desert upon hearing of the Russian surrender. This Offensive manages to conquer the French and British colonies in Western Africa and relieves the besieged German and Spanish colonies. By the Spring of 1917, Western Africa was effectively under the control of the Central Powers save for some guerilla fighting in the interior. Germany launched the Schlieffen Plan, a sweeping attack around Belgium, in March of 1917 to finally defeat the French in Western Europe and hopefully end the War once and for all. The Germans swiftly conquer Belgium and Luxembourg and push rapidly towards the French capital of Paris. Italy also launches an attack across the front to help the German offensive, but this attack sees minimal success due to the fortified positions along the frontlines. The Battle of Jutland occurs, at the end of April, with a decisive German victory and the British suffering devastating casualties. The North Sea Blockade was broken, and the German Navy now having an open way towards the British Isles.

Paris and eventually all of Northern France was conquered by the Germans by the end of Spring, after a mutiny by the broken down and tired French defenders. France surrenders shortly after the Fall of Paris and the old French administration fleas in exile to escape the aftermath of the War. Spain was finally able to defeat the Portuguese with soldiers from the Pyrenees Front being diverted after the Fall of France. Portugal surrendered in the early Summer of 1917 after a renewed offensive by the Spanish with aid from the Italians and the Germans. The United Kingdom remained in the War for a few more months, but their chances of winning were slim to none at this stage. The British Isles were starving, British colonies were falling around them to either the Central Powers or to Revolution, and most of their other allies had already surrendered. The United States divided between ethnic Germans and French, opting to remain neutral throughout the war as no aggressive actions toward them occurred from either side. Eventually, the British government asked for a peace settlement with the Central Powers in the Fall of 1917. Japan reluctantly agreed to sign a Peace with Honor with the Central Powers after the British surrender, basically a white peace.

All the major powers and nations involved in the war effort gathered together in the Berlin Peace Conference in 1918 to discuss the aftermath of the War. In the existing Treaty, Luxembourg and all Belgian territory East of the River Muse is annexed by the Germans, while Belgium becomes a puppet state of Germany. France cedes bordering territories in French Lorraine, and Belgium is given some areas in Northern France near Calais. Italy annexes Monaco as well as the regions of Savoy, Nice, and Corsica from France. Spain annexes Andorra as well as bordering territories along the Pyrenees Mountains from France. British Cyprus goes to the Ottomans, British Malta goes to the Italians, and British Gibraltar is given to the Germans (with reluctance from the Spanish). Spain unites with Portugal to form the Iberian Union. Austria-Hungary annexed the coastline of Montenegro and bordering territories of Serbia (including Belgrade). Montenegro will become a puppet state of Austria-Hungary, and Serbia was divided into two puppet states of the Duchy of Belgrade and the Duchy of Vardar. Albania becomes part of the Italian sphere of influence. Denmark was forced to cede Bornholm, the Faroe Islands, and various other Danish islands to Sweden. Iceland and Greenland are recognized as independent nations under the Swedish sphere of influence. Ireland will gain independence from the United Kingdom and will join the German sphere of influence.

Portuguese colonies were divided between Germany (Angola, Guinea-Bissau, and Northern Mozambique) and Spain (the rest of Portuguese territories. All French and British territories, except for South Africa and Sierra Leone, are divided between Italy, Germany, and Spain. The Belgian Congo is ceded to Germany. All British possessions in the Arabian Peninsula were ceded to the Ottoman Empire, and all other Arab dominions are forced to become protectorates of the Ottoman Empire. All German colonies in Asia are to be returned to Germany. In addition, French Indochina and the Territory of Papua are ceded to the Germans. All Portuguese colonies in Asia are given to Spain. All Allied and Central Powers concessions in China are returned to one of the various warlords of China except for the Ports of Hong Kong, Macau, Qingdao, Port Arthur. The island of Hainan is ceded to the Germans as compensation for the concessions. French and Portuguese colonial territories in India are ceded to the British Raj to improve relations. France, the UK, and Denmark were forced to pay a lot of money in reparations to the Central Powers, and arms limitations imposed on France in particular. The War ended with all sides signing the Treaty of Berlin and all changes to be implemented by the beginning of 1919. Even though the War had ended, the World was still engulfed in various conflicts throughout the coming decades.

In Russia, the Bolsheviks rebelled in November of 1916 after the surrender of the Russian government to the Central Powers. They’d manage to conquer the majority of Western Russia and areas in Central Asia and Siberia in 1917. The Japanese invaded Russian territory in the Russian Far East and Northern Sakhalin. The Mongols took advantage of this and invaded Russia as well, seizing various points along the Russo-Mongolian border. However, German and Ottoman assistance to the Whites forced the Bolsheviks on the defensive and see the White Army making major gains in 1918 and 1919. The Civil War officially ended with the Fall of Petrograd in the Spring of 1920, seeing the Whites come out victorious. The Russian Republic was officially installed with Alexander Kerensky as the President and the Duma as the legislature. Democratic elections were to be hosted in 1922. However, the issue with the Mongol and Japanese Invasions was still present, as they still had their holdings in Russia. Eventually, the two sides were locked in a stalemate and seeking peace. The three sides would meet in Irkutsk in the Fall of 1921 to decide the new borders. Japan will annex North Sakhalin and create the State of Transumer out of Russian territory South of the Amur River. Mongolia annexed Tannu Tuva and areas that border Lake Baikal. The new Russian government focused its efforts in the next few years on industrialization and further reform of the military. They would have a contentious relationship with the Germans but didn't desire to conquer back their territories as they don’t have the modern military to do so.

In Denmark, a three-way Civil War broke out between the Radical Nationalists, the Danish Communists, and the remnants of the old Government that turned into the Democratic Front. The crushing defeat of the Danes in the War during 1915 forced the country into ruin and War. They fought a brutal island-hopping campaign, with atrocities occurring on all sides. German forces intervened and invaded the Jutland Peninsula to try and preserve stability and secure access to the Kiel Canal. Sweden decided to economically and militarily back the Democratic Front, and Germany followed suit. The Democrats won the Civil War in 1918 with backing from the Central Powers and Germany ceased the occupation of Jutland and return it to the new Danish government. The new Denmark instituted a Parliamentary Republic and abolishing the Monarchy entirely though Germany disapproved. Radical Left and Right-wing groups were barred from the Government, and the new Danish administration implemented elections in 1920. In Sweden, the Swedish Reds rose up against the government in late 1916 due to the horrid conditions of the War. The government easily halted the Reds in Southern Sweden, as Communist forces rebelled in Finland as well with the Russian surrender and the rise of the Bolsheviks. The Swedish government managed to efficiently defeat the Red forces, focusing their attention on the Reds in Southern Finland. Mannerheim led his forces to finally defeat the Reds by mid-1917. Sweden and Finland formed the Northern Lights as an economic alliance to rebuild Scandinavia after the Civil Wars had ended. Iceland and Greenland joined in 1919, and Norway in 1922. Denmark reluctantly joined in 1928, but seeing the desire to rebuild their nation more than their past conflicts with the Swedes. This alliance would continue into the 1930s and eventually form into a military alliance as well.

Oceania

In Australia, the Neds, a gang of outlaws under the command of a heavily augmented Ned Kelly, and the Aboriginals formed a coalition against the other two opposing sides, the loyalists and the British, holding roughly South Australia, Queensland, and Northern Territory. The Civil War was long and bloody, with thousands dying on all sides of the war. War crimes became a common occurrence in the lawless land of Australia. The Loyalists were be kicked out of mainland Australia after the British were forced to withdraw aid due to signing peace with the Central Powers in 1917. The Loyalists soon collapsed without help from the British, as the Government forces were pushed out of the Outback by the Neds, conquered all of Western Australia. Germany limited the amount of aid going to Australia to focus on keeping together their holdings in Europe, Africa, and Asia. In 1919, the Neds conquered Canberra and Melbourne, and the Government forces collapsed. The Neds won the Civil War by the end of 1919, but Tasmania became its own independent nation with the remnants of the Loyalists. New Zealand annexed all other Australian territories in the Pacific, while the Germans annexed the Papua Territory in the Treaty of Berlin. Ned Kelly continued to rule Australia throughout the next decades, as the continent devolved into the new Wild West. Tasmania was invaded and pacified by Ned Kelly’s forces in 1927, looting and pillaging the island in the process.

China

The Mongol Invasion of China in 1915 threw the Beiyang Government into disarray. Yuan Shikai, a rogue general, declared himself Emperor, but now took the full blame of the War. The Mongol Invasion completely threw the Chinese Armed Forces into disarray, as the swift and devastating first strike forced the weak Chinese forces out of the frontier. Yuan Shikai was killed by the Mongolians in 1916 after a failed offensive to retake areas already under Mongol control. Sun Yat-sen soon fled China to live in exile with the help of the Italians. The Beiyang Government collapsed in late 1916 with the Mongol captured of Beijing and the capture and execution of the majority of the government. This caused China to devolve into a period of warlordism and conflict. Mongolia annexed Inner Mongolia and the areas consisting of the Ma Clique, while leaving the remainder of China under warlord control. In 1918, Japan seized the opportunity to conquer more land in China to further expand the border of the Empire of Japan. Japanese forces invaded and pacified Manchuria, establishing the Fengtian Government in 1919 to better administer the territories. China’s disunity allowed other nations to exploit the Chinese Market, and influence various warlords for more favorable trade deals. Sun Yat-sen returned to China in 1921 with the support of the Germans and Italians. With this, he established a new Chinese government in Canton with the goal of reunifying China. The Kuomintang, a nationalist political party founded by Sun Yat-sen, ruled the new government as a single-party Republic.
In 1925, after the death of Sun Yat-sen, the Kuomintang launched an invasion northwards to reclaim much of China with military and economic aid coming from Europe. They managed to defeat the major warlords in Yunnan and Nanjing before the Mongols and Japanese intervened to try and stop China from unifying. Germany took the side of the Chinese resulting in the Shanghai Crisis of 1928. A settlement was eventually agreed upon, where Japan and Mongolia would leave China to its own devices in exchange for the Republic of China recognizing Mongol and Japanese territories in China. The new Kuomintang Government managed to liberate China proper by 1930, installing a new democratic government in Nanjing. However, a Civil War broke out between the Nationalist faction in the Kuomintang and the Communist faction. The Civil War lasted until 1935, where the Nationalists cornered the Communists in central China and defeated them in a bloody final battle. By 1936, the once proud nation of China had been humiliated by a century of civil strife and foreign imperialism. Sun Yat-Sen’s ideals were preserved in a new China, but were corrupted by the Germans to allow for them to dominate politics in China.

North America

Theodore Roosevelt became the President of the United States in 1912 as a Republican, and led the country at the beginning of the War in Europe. Roosevelt focused on domestic issues and enact women’s suffrage in 1914. Roosevelt would enact various health and safety reforms during his presidency, as well as many political reforms as well. Roosevelt changed the political landscape of America drastically in just four years; some may say that the reforms were for the betterment of America, even though they increased the size of the Federal government massively. As the War escalated, the United States began secretly selling weapons and supplies to both sides of the war, profiting extensively off of the arms trade. The United States did not go to war with either side, as the American public didn't want to send young boys to fight and die in some foreign war that affected them little. They’d continue their policy of Isolationism while selling weapons to the fighting powers. Due to his age, Roosevelt decided to retire from political life and not seek re-election in 1916. Charles Evans Hughes won the Republican nomination to appease the more conservative faction of the party to prevent a schism that almost occurred in 1912. Charles Evans Hughes won the General Election in a landslide, going on to be the next President of the United States.

When War ended in 1917 the European powers were on their knees, however, the American economy continued to boom in the late 1910s and into the 1920s. Prohibition was enacted the same year President Hughes was re-elected. This period, known as the Roaring 20’s, would define 1920’s America as the period of economic boom after the War in Europe and social changes in society. The next president be Calvin Coolidge in 1924, as he managed to appeal to both sides of the party with his more hands-off approach to government. The Roaring 20’s continue on strong, as organized crime takes to the streets in the form of the mafia to smuggle alcohol to and from America. Production and industry increased as regulations fell, as many of the more radical policies that Roosevelt enacted during his third term were repealed; such as the Federal Healthcare Committee. Coolidge reluctantly decided to run for re-election in 1928, easily winning his party’s nomination and going on to compete in the general election. His won a complete landslide victory, winning even States in the Deep South in Alabama; this was partially because of the Democratic nominee Al Smith, who was a Catholic.

The New York Stock Exchange crashed on Black Tuesday, however, the effects were less than expected. This began the Panic of 1929, a recession which lasted until 1931 and caused the unemployment rate to rise to 13%. This caused the Republican Party to lose its solid hold over the government. In 1931, Calvin Coolidge declined to run for another term, and in his place, Charles Curtis was nominated for President for the Republicans. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the front runner for most of the Democratic primaries but succumbed to Polio in early 1932. John Nance Garner became the Democratic nominee, and go on to win the presidential election over Curtis. He was the first Democratic to enter the White House since Grover Cleveland, and spent his presidency rebuilding the recovering nation from the recession that occurred under Coolidge’s second term. His re-election came up in 1936, and he faced many challenges for his second term. Not only were the Republicans geared to retake the White House, but also competed within the Democratic Party as well. Senator Huey Long of Louisiana, after he narrowly survived an assassination attempt, challenged Garner in the primaries and has run a successful campaign for President. Yet all was fair game for all sides, and the next few months decided what direction the country will go on...

The Aftermath in Europe

Austria-Hungary attempted to reform itself for the rest of the 1910s and into the 1920s as well. After Franz Joseph died in November of 1916, Charles I ascended the throne of the Empire and continued the war. Upon the Wars end, Austria incorporated new territories in Serbia and Montenegro as well as puppet states in Serbia. Charles I established autonomous ethnic enclaves within the empire to better represent the various ethnic groups in Austria-Hungary. Italy soon became a major rival to the Empire, with Germany staying away from the growing Cold War between the two nations. In 1923, Charles I agreed to transform Austria-Hungary into the Triple Empire consisting of Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. Hungary, angry about losing its land and power, rebelled against Austrian rule. Serbian rebel groups soon rose up, seeing its chance at gaining their independence and revenge against the Austrians. Italy intervened to save the remaining Italians in the Empire, invading Albania to secure the entrance to the Adriatic. Romania invaded Transylvania for the same reasons as Italy. Bulgaria intervened and attacked Serbian territory to acquire desired lands in Macedonia but only gained southern Serbian lands. Greece joined a coalition with Romania and the newly restored Serbia in defeating the Bulgarians. After a year of gruesome fighting and the near collapse of Austria and the surrender of Bulgaria, Germany intervened and invaded the remaining Austrian territories. The War would end with all sides coming together in Munich to discuss the fate of Austria-Hungary and the Balkans as a whole. The Treaty of Munich would see that all sides got something out of the war. Germany annexed Greater Austria consisting of Austria, Czech Sudetenland, Slovenia, and Galicia. Italy would annex Istria, South Tyrol, and Dalmatia from Austria-Hungary. Serbia will be restored to its pre-war borders, and annex Bosnia and Montenegro. Hungary will gain independence will all of its territories given to them by Austria-Hungary. Romania will annex Bukovina but withdraw from the remainder of Transylvania. Albania would be annexed by Italy. Bulgaria would cede bordering territories to Serbia and the Mediterranean coastline to Greece.

Japan is the dominant naval power in the pacific, and one of the world's largest naval powers. Naval aviation in the IJN is incredibly effective, with planes like the Zero able to out-maneuvre and outgun any plane it meets, and has a larger range than most strategic bombers.
KEMPEITAI
The Kempeitai, or the Japanese Military Police, is feared for being brutal. Those fears are not misplaced. Enforcing the will of the empire with an iron fist (and an Iron Boot and Iron Firing Squad), the Kempeitai are highly trained, highly devoted, and not scared of committing atrocities in the name of the Emperor
PROBLEMS
Just as Japan has many advantages, it has many disadvantages as well. A fledgling Empire, Japan is faced with a large task and not a lot of colonial experience to back it up. While committed, Japan hasn't had many opportunities to work out the military kinks before the current situation was shoved on their plate. In the same vein, Japan has to do a lot of expansion in a short period of time to deal with all of its potential enemies, but it does not necessarily have the resources to sustain this. Although the colonial acquisitions are helpful in dealing with the resource issue, the Japanese core states still have trouble keeping up with all the work they must do. With the world transitioning to diesel, Japan must find a solution - fast.

The GDP seems fairly high, even though you’re using modern money I’d recommend trying to find some sources on GDP’s around that time. Also the Yen to Dollar is very unreasonable, even considering the less inflation. Maybe a 300 yen to the dollar at minimum. Otherwise it looks fine to me.

I actually spent a significant amount of time trying to find that stuff and couldn't. I can change the Yen if you'd like, and the GDP. What would you think is a good idea for the GDP? 400? 450?
