Hi everyone,

I just want to give everyone a heads up.

I love you all but recently, things have changed (for the better I think?) in my life.

I might be spending less time on the forums. The reason being someone has finally decided to give me a chance (after close to nearly three complete years of near literal unemployment due to mistakes I've made in the past after law school).

I'm a week into my new job as an English language instructor for very young kids at a language centre in Hong Kong. I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would even though I understand there is a great deal to learn before I can be as competent as the other instructors here. I really hope that this can be a turning point in my life for the better because these past few years have been very very dark (and in fact, I nearly made the decision to end everything several times).

The children are very adorable and the classroom is a productive and well-managed space (well, when things are working). I find that the hours fly by. My colleagues are nice and friendly. I am very touched that after years and years of searching (and taking on some questionable projects for money), an employer finally said to me after one trial lesson; "You look like you're enthusiastic about this job. We'll take you in. Your lack of experience and your past isn't of terribly great concern to us." I am very touched by this and intend to reward them for this as much as I can.

For the first time in a very long time, I'm able to return to my drawings every night and there is now hope for a path to the future.

I want to thank everyone on this forum for your (probably unintentional contributions) to my sanity over the past few years. Without this place to run some of my thought experiments, written ideas, and indirectly vent; I don't think I would have made it this far to continue.

You'll probably always see me commenting on a Game of Thrones episode here and there in A and F (well, as long as that thread lasts anyhow) and maybe occasionally uploading some art. However, my General scenario writing days will have to be rolled back and in general I will be less active.

I'm playing Berstein's recording of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Nice man, Vivaldi, I met him several times, at first in Venice and later at Mantua. Nowadays people know him as a composer but he was the most marvelous violinist. I remember, one of the times I was in Venice, Vivaldi performed some of his pieces and afterward there was a small reception. Albinoni was there and I talked them into improvising on the violin. It was a most enjoyable evening.
